Bejeweled FIRST ENTRY: POP'S CHOCK'LIT SHOPPE
Baby love, I think I've been a little too kind Didn't notice you walking all over my peace of mind In the shoes I gave you as a present Puttin' someone first only works when you're in their top five And by the way, I'm going out tonight

Best believe I'm still bejeweled When I walk in the room I can still make the whole place shimmer And when I meet the band They ask, "Do you have a man?" I can still say, "I don't remember" Familiarity breeds contempt Don't put me in the basement When I want the penthouse of your heart Diamonds in my eyes I polish up real, I polish up real nice
"When I walk in the room."
Pop Tate's Chok'lit Shoppe was, if there was ever another place in Riverdale that could be considered a sanctuary, that place would be it. Even the Ghoulies had backed away and left with only superficial wounds to the exterior of the storefront after the riots and subsequent vandalism between the North and Southsides. The exterior of the storefront had seen much worse since it had been covered in spray paint on the day that the Black Hood had shot Fred Andrews. Despite this, the neon lights of Pop's shone like a beacon of hope amidst the cloud of gloom, welcoming anyone and everyone to a place of peace and safety, as well as the tri-state area's guaranteed best burger and shake. Riverdale's gloomy past will have to accommodate yet another entry thanks to this.

As Betty stepped inside, the bell in the ceiling rang to welcome her, and she quickly scanned the empty diner with her eyes in an effort to avoid anyone who might be interested in taking a picture or getting a quote from the daughter of deranged Alice Cooper in the wake of her father's arrest, the Black Hood himself.in the blonde as she made her way to the counter to snag a stool.

She removed her bag from her shoulder and placed it on the empty seat next to her before settling in against the laminate countertop with her forearms. She then peered over the counter in the direction of the black-haired waitress that she had come to find. After attracting Pop's attention as he hung up the phone after receiving a call-in order, she gave him an embarrassed smile before moving away from the area that was reserved exclusively for employees. "Hey, Pop, I don't think I overlooked anyone?" As she tapped the screen of her phone to check the time in the hope that she hadn't gotten too carried away with paperwork, there was a note of melancholy in her voice. She hoped that she hadn't gotten too involved in the paperwork.

She exhaled, a sigh that bordered on relief even if only a small reprieve from the nightmare her life had morphed into outside of the safe confines of these diner walls. Reaching into her pocket with her free hand, Betty searched for her cell phone, pulling it out and laying it face up on the table. She instinctively pushed the button lighting the screen to life as her jaw clenched in nervousness, releasing only when seeing she hadn’t missed any important phone calls.

The milkshakes arrived and Betty was grateful for the distraction, taking small sips without really enjoying it as silence descended her.
I can still make the whole place shimmer,
