have some faith. "I do everything for everyone. Everything to be perfect. The perfect daughter, the perfect sister, the perfect student. Can't I do this one thing for me?"  His defenses are up, and she can't help but think his face tells what his mouth does not. IT DOES MATTER. Disappointment painted out on soft features, and she wants to say to him it's okay to be upset; to let himself feel, doesn't make him weak, but HUMAN. He's softer than he'd let you think – she knows because she's attentive, the brave blotchy face he paints for the world to see; cracks show on the surface if you look close enough, and she does.  Inching closer, a hand reaches out to catch his between her own, a soft sigh, heart aching for him, he'd worked SO HARD. He deserved this more than anyone; she's seen him grown in the few years since he moved into her house.
