No one can hear me scream, maybe it's just a dream
From the time he was a young child, he had viewed himself as fat and did whatever he could to get rid of it, falling into anorexia and bulimia when hew as eight. Due to not eating much, he fainted at school on a few occasions, particularly after P.E. His friends noticed, but never guessed at the cause. Jakob didn't tell anyone until he was 19, but by then, he was mostly recovered.
Due to the craziness of his household, Jakob found music as an outlet at a young age. It was Jakob that suggested the formation and start of Bloody Winter.
About the time that he was in fifth or sixth grade, suicidal thoughts found their way into Jakob's mind. Jakob really began to consider the idea when he was about 14 and found ways to get his hands on several things he could use to carry out the act. One night that he sat down to finally do it, Trystin walked in. Upon seeing the worry and pain in his brother's eyes, Jakob ran, never returning to that house or talking to any of his family for the next five years.
When he was a child, Jakob had been close to his older sister, Juely, especially right after Trystin and Krystena were born. He gave her a bear that night with the promise that he would make sure she didn't get ignored just because there were new babies in the house. However, after Jakob began falling victim to his own demons, the two siblings started pulling away from each other and Juely became a runaway. Not knowing what the other was going through, tension rose between the two once close relatives. Days after Jakob's nineteenth birthday (curse already activated), Juely shot him, aiming to destroy and kill the monster, believing if she got rid of his, she would clear it up for the rest of the family. He survived. That November, when Jakob had not fed the monster for a while and it had taken almost complete control over him, he killed Juely to satisfy the monster's hunger.

Kantian Curse
Started centuries ago by different spells being placed on one of their ancestors. The curse lives inside each and every Kantian, but is only activated in one (for example, all of the siblings carry it, but Jakob is the only one that has to live with it. Make sense?) It is the curse's way of insuring it's survival; because all of them carry it, they will all pass it on to their children. The only way to completely rid the world of the curse is to kill everyone with even the slightest bit of Kantian blood (including babies and small children). Now, because they all carry it, they do have signs, or symptoms. The curse never fully activates in the other siblings, but it is there. When one of those Kantian's get angry, their eyes will become a solid black and their nails will grow into claws. That's it. However, if in a very weakened state near death, only feeding the monster will bring them back. For example, Trystin, at one point, was beaten and near dead but nothing seemed to be helping. He was beaten so badly that his strength was gone, the only thing keeping him together was the gene of the curse inside him. He was fed a heart, and got his strength back, but the curse was never officially activated. It, as described in the song "Monster" by Skillet, lives off of hearts and souls. The Kantian with it activated must feed it every night; the longer they go without feeding it, the more control it has over them.
The heart and soul it wants the most, the ones that are the most appealing to it, are those of it's host. But, knowing it will die if it partakes in those, if given the choice, it will go after siblings, because they are the closest in appeal. For centuries, there was a myth that there was a cure. In order to get to it, you had to go into the forest where the curse was originally cast, with a Kantian with the activated version of it. This was all a trick. The spirits of the ones who cast the spell were in that forest, and were awoken by the presence of the curse and would attack any Kantian that stepped foot inside. Their way of trying to rid the world of the family that had wronged them. However, once Jakob's grandfather found out Trystin was to be a father, he told them that, yes, that particular cure was a fake, but there was a real one. Unfortunately, the cure, just like the curse, needed blood. A Kantian had to sacrifice someone they cared for and the curse would be forever absent in every unborn Kantian. But the sacrifice couldn't be a Kantian, which meant it was down to Jakob to give up his girlfriend at the time, Riley, or for Trystin to give up the mother of his child, Erin. Well, there was a boy, Eli,that Trystin had befriended during the time he was kidnapped who had developed a large crush on him. Trystin developed a crush on him as well, and that's when he found out his true sexuality. Wanting the Kantian family to be happy, and wanting to keep Trystin's personal family together, Eli decided he would be the sacrifice. But remember, it would only take the curse from all unborn Kantian's. Trystin's daughter, Danielle, was born an hour before Eli killed himself, which means she still lives with it, and Jakob will be the one to ease her into the information on the curse she has inherited when she gets closer to 19.

I ran away from him the moment I could, I left him alone to fight the first monsters we Kantian's ever knew- our parents. I was too busy fighting my demons to worry about his. I returned years later and he got his hook right back in me, I can not survive leaving him again, and I never will. He taught me what it was like to be a brother and gave me a good example on how to be a father. I can not thank him enough.

Nightmare dressed like a daydream
I kept a secret from her since she was three, no matter how many times she asked me to tell her. I knew why Amri formed, I could fill in the blanks in her memories, but I decided to stay quiet; telling her would have made no difference. Because of Amri, she was the most well protected of us Kantian's, so I am grateful for that. I am so happy I returned home, my siblings and I couldn't be closer and it is amazing to finally understand the meaning of family.

I hardly got any time to get to know him before I had to leave for tour, so let's say the real first impression I got from him was sh*tty and I just wanted to kill him once I found out he had left Trystin to die. But before I could, Trystin spoke up and told me not to. I am glad he did. Currently our relationship stands at trying to spoil Trystin's kids more than the other. I am winning XD

Cursed or Blessed?
FACTS ABOUT THE CURSE
*Triggered around the 19th birthday (there is no way to know which of any Kantian's children will have it until they turn 19, there are no pre-warnings).
*The appearance of the curse looks like a very large wolf.
*Only a human heart and soul will appease the monster.
*Those with the activated version have heightened strength, hearing, and speed (all Kantian's will, but the cursed will have superior versions).
*The initial change is activated by an increased heart rate or anger (every transformation after that is at the discretion of the Kantian with it- unless they reach a high anger level; anger is a constant trigger).
*Hands stay paw-like (similar to a dog or wolf) until the monster is ready to attack, then they shift to hands with claws.
CHARACTERISTICS A NON-CURSED KANTIAN MAY SHOW
