the story of him
Daniel’s first love was music, he fell in love at the tender age of 6. Taught himself how to play guitar strictly by ear. Then slowly learned how to read music. His parents invested in music class and shortly after he was composing his own music. Through the years he learned how to play other instruments, such as piano, drums, and bass. He was born in Buffalo, New York, and lived there until he was 17 years old. His father was offered a job opportunity and uprooted the entire family to Nashville, Tennessee. Daniel was exactly where he needed to be, as Nashville was known for its music scene.
Shortly after his arrival in Nashville, he joined a cover band. This is where he met Leah. Leah then introduced him to her other bandmates from another band she was a part of. It was to his surprise that this band would take Leah, the boys, and Danny into stardom. Before the band went on its first tour, Daniel opted out and left the band for the first time. Yes, music was his first love, but he wasn’t sure whether this was something he wanted as a career path. He was a 20-year-old, under a lot of pressure from family and friends about his career choices. Daniel was miserable, his band was creating and playing music all around the globe while he was stuck in Nashville trying to conform to his parents’ wishes.
The second album was coming around, and Daniel rejoined the band. It didn’t take very long for him to realize that he was an adult and could do as he pleased. He gave his first love another chance; it was the best decision ever. He was able to travel the world with his best friends and fell in love with his bandmate, Leah. Before the release of the band’s 4th studio album, Leah and Daniel had their first, and only child, Grey on December 10, 2012.
Daniel and Leah’s relationship took a turn for the worse shortly after getting married. They tied the knot after having the baby because it was the right thing to do. In 2014, the couple split, and Daniel left the band again. He was no longer happy, and he was tired of pretending that he was. Leaving the band and allowing space between him and Leah allowed them to work on themselves to be a better team for Grey.
Changing careers drastically after being established in the music industry was exhausting. He was going through what he now calls an identity crisis; music had been his life since he was a little boy. But after leaving the band, he felt clueless about his future, or whether there was even a future in music for him. During the years he was with the band, he took on photography as a hobby. That was his second love. He focused on perfecting his craft so that he could make a living out of it.
Like anything in life, at first, it was hard. He wasn’t booking any gigs, and although he believed he was far from being a professional photographer, his work was decent for an amateur. He later discovered that videography was the moneymaker, especially for weddings, music videos, and commercials. When the photography business wasn’t going well, he’d tap into his musical talent and produce for local talent in Nashville and later for bigger names in the industry. Daniel was doing well for himself, even after abandoning his only source of income.
In 2015, he met former fiancé Kylie Minogue during a photoshoot. She was bossy, and he enjoyed that about her. The two became inseparable. They miraculously got pregnant, and had their baby boy, Colton. He was their most beautiful creation, there was no denying it. Daniel was constantly under the public eye again. Everything he did was criticized. He also felt as if he was losing his identity; he couldn’t just be Daniel. He was Kylie Minogue’s boy toy. Her new beau. The titles were endless.
He lost himself, at no fault of Kylie, nor their child. In a moment of weakness and feeling like he couldn’t exist in this life anymore, he relinquished all his parental rights to Kylie. He believed himself to be an unfit parent – given the darkness that he was stuck in.
It didn’t take too long for him to come to some of his senses and admit he made a mistake in relinquishing his parental rights. But it was too late. Daniel returned to the UK to beg Kylie to let him back into his son’s life. Kylie wasn’t having it, and she wasn’t going to allow this unstable man back into her son’s life. She was in her right to protect her son at all costs. This is when Danny officially spiraled. His mental health began to decline again. He also stopped seeing his son Grey and struggled to get out of the depression that was holding him back from everything in life.
He has been recovering for the past 3-4 years. Daniel met his wife, Karina Nazario during his healing journey, and they got married within 10 months of getting to know each other. In 2021, they welcomed Daniel’s third child, Leila Gordon Nazario. Ever since the arrival of their baby girl, Karina has been pushing Daniel to continue the fight to get back into Colton's life. She even went as far as giving him an ultimatum since she never understood how he could be a good father to one kid but not the other. This dilemma, and many other things created a wedge in their relationship and the couple decided to call it quits within a year of being married. They are currently separated and have an amicable relationship co-parenting their daughter Leila.
Daniel recently discovered that he has a 20-year-old son, whose existence was a total surprise to him. Not only does he have to fix his relationship with Colton, but also his 20-year-old son who happens to be a spitting image of himself. Daniel was thrown some curve balls, but he is not giving up on trying to get back into Colton’s life. He’s aware that Kylie would put up a good fight and is willing to fight it. His goal is to hopefully have an amicable relationship with Kylie where they can both become the team that Colton deserves.
He has been working on projects related to directing since he has been wanting to dip his toes in filmmaking. He's aware that it will be a long journey involving a lot of hard work. If there was something that he could teach his boys was to never give up. Daniel has learned the hard way that giving up has brought nothing but dismay to his life.
Spend a little more time trying to make something of yourself and a little less time trying to impress people.
Allowing her daughter to travel to another continent for a few weeks was a complete struggle, Karina had never been apart from her daughter since the moment she arrived on earth. Despite the differences between herself and Danny, she was forever thankful he turned out to be a decent person. Australia was a universe away from her, but this was an important task for him and their child to get to know their sibling. “I’m glad it wasn’t too complicated for you! I definitely missed my girl though!” she stated with a bright smile. “You know Lele is able to sleep the entire day and night if she is given the opportunity” she continued with a slight laugh. “How did it go with Kylie tho?” she genuinely asked, the relationship between Danny and Kylie was a bit complicated and it always seemed to affect him.
The idea of living with her estranged husband was a very crazy plot twist but she knew it would be a good thing for their child. “You can stay here for whatever long it takes! You know, I don’t care, and I just want Leilani to be happy and she obviously loves you” she continued with a smirk. “I can hook you up with my realtor and maybe you’ll find a place just don’t feel like its being rushed.. you staying here would be the biggest help ever” she flashed him a bright smile. “I can tell she loved visiting her sibling, sadly she wont be getting any new siblings from my side” she shrugged, lifting the glass of wine to her lops to take a sip. “What area are you looking to move into?” she asked with a concerned look. Sadly, living in a big city meant the fact that she would have to deal with the rest, and this included the unhinged media. “What did Kylie say about seeing or talking to Colton?” she asked with concern. Despite the endless drama between him and his exes, she knew he was a person who would not divulge their privacy. “You can move in here and stay as long a you want too!” she reassured Ms. “Just no hoes allowed” she reinforced.
The time Danny spent out of the Country with Leila was tough for Karina, however, it was equally rewarding and allowed her to do so much without the worry of having to run after the child while she attempted to work. She rushed around the kitchen to make Leila’s favorite snack and finished getting the house organized to finally welcome her offspring who would make sure to flip everything upside down the second she got home. Karina checked her phone a couple of times, impatiently waiting for her husband to get home with their child.
The second she heard the car’s alarm as it was locked, she rushed out of the home and smiled widely “mi amor!!!!!” she exclaimed. Karina ran towards Leila to give her a tight hug and peppered her face with kisses – rising to her feet to give Danny a hug as well. “Y tu? How was the Australian vacation?” she teased, knowing it was still a bittersweet thing considering how Danny had stayed out of Colton’s life for the longest time.
“I hope she didn’t give you a hard time for bedtime, come on in, I made something for you guys to get a bite” she smirked. Karina helped Danny with some of the suitcases as she carried Leila into the home, placing her on her feet and the child quickly ran to the play area. “So, what’s the next plan with Kylie and the kid?” she placed the suitcases in the living room, walking to the kitchen that overlooked the play area where Leila sat. “Si quieres, te puedes quedar aquí la noche para que no tengas que salir manejando cansado”

Kylie’s heart was beating a mile a minute. Daniel being in her house with his children was giving her a strange sense of deja vu. The first time she’d met Grey, she was quite apprehensive. Being Auntie Kik to Charlie, James, and Ethan was one thing. But being the other female figure in his son’s life was quite the uncharted territory. But Grey had proven himself quite the charmer and an easy going boy that was just so easy to love. He liked her from the start, that much was obvious. But then he started loving her and the first time he verbalized it, Kylie’s heart burst into a million pieces. In the quiet of the night, after she’d put the little one down for bed, she’d asked Daniel if what she was feeling was what parents felt. Grey had been her first son.
Daniel broke the ice making the proper introductions. He introduced Alex and Kylie smiled at the twenty year old. “I actually heard of Alex through an interview you did.” Kylie said, her eyes turning to ice when she looked at him. Her eyebrow lifted making him aware that she’d read his interview. That she’d read, in black and white, what he’d said about her. “Nevertheless, Alex, it’s very nice to meet you.” Kylie said with a smile. It was a little tight and a lot nervous, but nonetheless a friendly smile. “And thank you. My home is always open to you and your brothers.” Kylie said honestly. The blond would always make sure that her son had access and was accessible to his siblings. And then Daniel introduced her to the baby. Her green eyes connected with the oldest of the Gordon men before they landed on the sleeping baby. Something inside her stirred, wanting to hold the baby. But she’d sooner cut off her arms before she allowed herself to carry that baby. Daniel and her had a baby. A baby she had to practically raise on her own. A baby he abandoned. And true enough was that Matty wasn’t to blame for any of the mess that surrounded him. Kylie, better than anyone knew that when the time came, she’d fall in love with the littlest Gordon. And more so, her home would be open to him whenever he wanted to. To him and Alex, both. Because as much as it broke her, and it really did tear her to pieces, Alex and Matty were both Colton’s brothers. And while she did haver her issues with their father, she’d never deny her son the chance to have a good, healthy relationship with his siblings.
Her attention was brought back to reality when Daniel started to ask about the children. She couldn’t help but feel slightly protective of them. Something about Daniel being here made her nervous, she was on edge and prickly. The anxiety of knowing that at any second their son would bolt down the stairs and come face to face with his father after four years was filling her with anxiety. “The kids are doing well. Thanks. Addison is thirteen and in a performance arts school. Her choice, not mine. She says she wants to be a prima ballerina. She’s still modeling every now and then. And Michael is about to turn nineteen. He’s going to business school here in Melbourne. But he’s also modeling. I guess he grew out of his camera shy phase.” Kylie said about her kids. As much as she wanted to protect them, she also couldn’t help but gush about them. The lights of her life. They were everything good and the most important thing in her life.
“Mum!” She heard the yell from upstairs. “Oh dear God.” She whispered to herself as her eyes closed. She knew what was about to happen. “So help me God, Daniel, if you hurt my son again…” The threat was left mid air when she heard him dashing downstairs. “Stay here. I need to talk to him first.” She said. Her heart was racing. She wasn’t going to be able to stop Colton from finding his father and his two other children if she didn’t hurry. She met him at the stairs and his eyes were wide with questions. She saw Grey behind him and then looked back at Colton. She pulled the boys aside and sat them down on a chair in the family room. “Is it true? Is he here? Has he come to see me?” Colton asked, looking over his mother’s shoulder as if trying to sneak a peek at the man in the other room. Grey was sitting next to Colton, holding his hand.
“Listen to me. He’s here, yes. And yes, he’d like to see you. But he’s only going to if you want to see him. How do you feel about that?” Kylie asked her son. He looked at her and she swore she’d never seen him quite so grown up. “I want to see him.” Colton said. Kylie’s heart broke. Her son would get attached to his father again and when inevitably Daniel left again, Kylie would be left with a broken hearted little boy. “Mummy, I don’t remember him. Not very well. I feel like I know him because of what Grey tells me. But I don’t remember him.” Colton said sadly. “Colt, you were very little when he left. I wouldn’t expect you to have memories of him. I also don’t blame you for wanting some of your own. But I also have to tell you something before you go in there.” Kylie said and Colton moved so that he could sit on her lap. He was always so cuddly with her. “Colt, Daniel has two other sons. And they're here.” Kylie said and the little boy’s head whipped around so quickly. “What? I have two other brothers?” He asked. Kylie nodded, before saying “You do. And I didn’t know about them. Not until a few weeks ago anyway. Grey called and said that they were coming. I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want you to get your hopes up and I didn’t want you to be disappointed if Daniel didn’t come through in the end.” Kylie said, noticing that with every word she said more and more questions were being formed, but at the same time, she was answering them. So he was a little mad at her, but her answers were something he could live with. “Mamma, does... does Daniel not love me?” Colton asked and Grey moved to his side to give him a supportive hug. “Daniel loves you, Colton. He does.” Kylie said gently as she rubbed his back. “Then why does he have two other sons? Why does he see all of them but not me? Did I do something wrong?” Colton asked and his eyes filled with tears. Kylie’s tears were already falling. Goddamn Daniel! This is exactly why she didn't want him around her son. They were ok. They were doing just fine on their own. Andres had come into their lives and Colton really loved Andres and viceversa. Even Michael had started to come around to Andres living with them. The way Andres loved her children, they way they loved him… it was all she ever dreamed of and it made her fall in love just a little harder every time she saw it. They were happy, stable, and content.
But now Daniel had come back and kicked the hornets' nest. The anger, the protectiveness, the rage she felt. She could rip Daniel apart with her bare hands for causing her young son this much pain. For causing her son to have tears in his eyes. The monster Daniel had made her out to be was raging inside of her, begging to be let out. But on the outside, it all had to be tempered down. For the sake of her son, she needed to keep her cool. “Oh my darling. None of this is your fault. He’s here and you can ask him those question if you want to. But I promise you, none of this is your fault, or Grey’s fault.” Kylie said, looking from Colton to Grey and reassuring her other ‘son’ that none of this was their fault. She gently caressed Grey’s face and he leaned into her touch. “This isn’t even your other two brothers’ fault. This is a grown ups thing, my loves.” She said to the both of them. “Now, let’s be brave and let’s go meet your other brothers.” Kylie said and kissed both her boys’ cheeks.
“What are their names?” Colton asked. “Alex and Matty.” Grey answered. “Alex is the oldest. He’s older than Mich. And Matty is two.” Grey added and Colton nodded. He got off his mother’s lap and held onto her hand. Grey went to Kylie’s other side and held her other hand. Her boys. Her sweet, loving boys. The world was catching fire currently. But they made her feel brave, and strong. They made her feel like she could do anything because for them, she would. Kylie walked into the living room with a boy on each side. Colton’s eyes landed on his father. “Hi.” He said awkwardly at Daniel while still holding onto his mother’s hand. He held on tight, a vice grip on her, like a lifeline, like begging her in some way to not let him go. Colton pulled his mother down and once on her knees, Colton proceeded to whisper something in her ear. “Do I have to call him dad?” He asked in a whisper meant for his mother and him. “You call him whatever makes you feel the most comfortable. If you don’t want to call him dad, you don’t have to. If you’d rather call him by his name, you can.” She said softly to him. “What if he gets mad?” Colton asked, a little louder, this time audible by everyone in the room. “Then he gets mad and he has to deal with those feelings himself.” Kylie said. Her voice calm, though she was anything but. Her green eyes were focused on her son and making sure that he was ok. A gentle smile on her lips providing the comfort of an unspoken language they shared. Daniel could say all he wanted about her, but the utter devotion this woman had for her children was unquestionable. She brushed his hair to the side and accidentally exposed the sixteen stitches above his left eyebrow.
