A small group of children stood at the edge of the treeline. "Don't go in there!" One of them said to one of the others. "The swamp witch will eat you alive!" The children began to bicker amongst themselves. You overheard that their parents warned them not to go into the swamp because of the witch who lived deep within. Do you dare venture into the swamp to see what all of the fuss is about?

Lorelei (Lore) is a high elf mage who left her home kingdom after her rich merchant parents promised her hand to the son of one of their business partners. Enraged by the arrangement, she left the mage's college she was attending and her kingdom entirely to trek across the continent. She eventually tucked herself away deep within a swamp, making her home there by building a stilted cottage.
To protect and fortify her home Lore has set many traps in her swamp such as wards and runes, enchanted animal guardians, and basic traps such as trip wires and pit traps.
Lore spends most of her time foraging for food and spell components, and she weaves her own clothes using plant fibers and found items such as feathers, moss, beetle wings, flowers, and other natural items. She also enjoys gossiping with the animals who keep her company.
She is very suspicious of visitors. Those who manage to make their way past her many traps are usually greeted with her stand offishness towards strangers, even though she is sometimes sought after for her powerful magic. She can create just about any potion and can cast just about any spell for the right price...
Though one would assume her existence to be lonesome, Lore is completley fine being on her own. Her crow, Stolas keeps her company and she has become one with the animals of the swamp.

Abilities:Lore innately has white magical abilities but uses them very rarely and usually only to protect herself or for people who make bargains with her. She primarily uses black and green magic
Shapeshifting (prefers the form of either a crow or an old hag for this), entangle (sentient vines), speak to animals, create decay, revive and control the dead (necromancy), lay on hands (healing), consecrated ground, telekinesis, summon swarm (bugs!), summoning various animals from the swamp, create animal guardians (making animals loyal to her), poison spray (Can shoot venom out of her palms), ward creation, future prediction, mind control (hypnosis)
Skills: Lore has the skills and knowledge to create almost any trap or potion. She also uses folk magic very often using whatever her swamp provides as ingredients to cast various spells.
Animal companions: Her familiar Stolas (a crow), Louis (A big, fat, lazy alligator who acts like a golden retriever), Oro (An anaconda)
