My Love?
Lyra Denali
She tapped her foot and pulled at the lace of her dress that she had stolen from one of the higher class women on the boat. She was playing the role of some rich couples daughter and no one had asked her yet about a ticket or what room she was staying in. Funny to her. Vampires didn't sleep after all so she didn't need a room. Red hues locked on the horizon as the moon hung in the sky above the boat. She had heard so many rumors about America. How it would have so much more to offer them.
She had waited for most of the crowd to find there way to their rooms before she started her hunt. A lonely drunk or some straggler who had stayed out a little later than he should have. These would be the ones she would feed off of and then toss overboard. People fell off of ships all the time. It wasnt uncommon. When she was sure most everyone was asleep she started her hunt. That had been what led her to the man who would change her life. He was on the lower deck and she had been ready to attack him until his scent hit her and stopped her in her tracks.
Part of her wanted to turn and run before he could see her but the other part of her that was a lot stronger than the other stayed her feet. For the longest time she stood there watching him until finally she got up the courage to make her way to him and introduce herself. "Excuse me." She offered lightly and straightened herself. "My name is Lyra. I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of the bow? Is that what they call it? I'm no good with boats." She laughed lightly.

"You know the minute you stop thinking about it, it'll happen."
