Clear as Mud

"To be fair, you carry yourself so well, Ominis, that a lot of people overlook that you cannot actually see..." she remarked, hoping he took it as the compliment it was meant to be. "Yes, I know, but I would rather *not* be an overthinker." Katy scrunched her nose at this doubt sitting in her gut.

Nodding her head with a smile at his questioning of her tactic, she clapped her hands together softly, "Yes, you heard me correctly." She laughed as she could see the uncertainty in his eyes. "Oh come on, humor me...please." She leaned forward, her head on the back of her hands which were clasped together.

Katy gave some mhms and uh-huhs in reply to his explanations of the potion. She smiled as he even went as far as to tell what *she* would see versus what he would go off of to tell if it was brewing correctly. “Yes, you got it!” She reached across the table and patted his hand in appraisal. “I think you’ll nail it when it comes to the test, you pantomimed everything correctly!”

A groan escaped as he turned it back on her, “Awh, what? Serving it back at me, huh?” She stuck her tongue out at him even though he couldn’t see. “Fine, fine. Let’s see here…Anti-Love Potion...” She closed her journal so she couldn’t see the notes she had taken, clearing her throat to prepare herself. “Alright…first you…Add four bundles of liquorice root…or as much until the potion turns green. Then you must stir it until the potion turns orange. You would rely on the smell, which to no surprise would smell very much like licorice.”

She bit her bottom lip as she closed her eyes, trying to picture the next steps. Just as he did, she pictured grabbing a vial. “Next you add castor oil, and the potion will turn blue. It would start to smell very pungent. Then you continue to stir until the concoction turns purple."

This potion was like a kaleidoscope, always changing colors based on what ingredients you added.  She exhaled as she went on to the next steps, making hand motions as if grabbing at the ingredients all the while. “Then you would add in extract of Gurdyroot until the potion turns red. You’ll likely hear a sizzling sound as it does so.” She tapped her fingers, resting her forehead against hand, “Add one liquorice root bundle, then another extract of Gurdyroot, again, but this time it will turn…” She grumbled to herself as she thought it over, picturing the colors in her head. “...purple. And then you leave it to simmer until it turns red.”

“This potion, Ominis, I swear…” She bonked her head on the table. “It’s still going! Because then… you add more Gurdyroot extract, but this time…until it turns green! And then, you must stir it until it turns orange. And the final ingredient is even more liquorice root bundles…seven to be exact! And then you just let it simmer, until it finally turns pink!” She slapped the table in finality, causing some students to look her way, but she just huffed as she sat back. “Clear as mud, yeah?”
