ZAKARY TOURMALINE - PUPPY ZAK was the youngest member of the Sovereign Order, and he bonded with Astrid over their shared lack of knowledge. They trained together, protected one another's backs during battle, and dressed each other's wounds at the end of the night. Unbeknownst to Astrid, he fell in love with her. He departed on a solo mission to find one of her shards as a token of his adoration, and ended up perishing in the process. Astrid had no idea until she stumbled upon his pile of letters Bastien had hidden from her, after he had already died.
ZAVIER TOURMALINE - PRICK ZAVIER was Zak's older brother. He was the first to undergo the lycanthrope transition, and changed his brother so that they could stay together after their village was burned to ash. They stumbled upon Bastien and Astrid a few years later. She was never particularly close to Zavier, who had slowly gone insane from the horrors he'd seen. His exact fate is not certain, but it is rumored that he killed himself in his madness.
CASSANDRA MAESTAS CASSIE was a scientist who stumbled upon one of her shards. During experimentation, the shard was activated and acted as a beacon to Astrid, who broke into the lab within minutes of being signaled. She nearly destroyed the building and injured the security guard. In order to avoid casualties, Cassie agreed to leave with Astrid and assist her in tracking down the final four shards. They found one more in their journeys together before Cassie perished from cancer that had come out of remission - before Astrid could heal her herself. They were never intimate, but she was the closest thing to a companion the fallen star had, and Astrid had slowly begun to care for her.
