Hermione had a hard time with Harry having a sister. Deep down, she felt like she was being replaced, but she also managed to welcome Samantha into their group with open arms, because she knew what it was like to not be accepted. She looked at the female as one of her friends, and she knew that she struggled with who she was.
"Do you ever wonder about your parents and what they risked for you and Harry?" Hermione said, her doe hues looking at Samantha as she spoke. She knew that Harry was stuggling with Sirius' death, and she didn't blame him, but that gave Hermione some alone time with Sam and some time to get to know her. She had always wanted to know her, and she knew this was her best time to do so.
Hermione was awkward when it came to interactions, but she was using this time to get to know the female, and she knew that this was something that Samantha had a hard time talking about, so she was hoping she wasn't broaching on her thoughts or what she wanted to talk about. Deep down, Hermione knew it would help her get to know Harry better too and that was all that she cared about.
She cared about both of them, and that was something that didn't come easily for the Granger female. She had a hard time opening up to people and getting to know them. She often felt like she was overreaching, but with Harry and Samantha, deep down, she felt like she belonged, and Hermione found that to be something that she liked and wanted to hold onto. She didn't know if she would find that anywhere else.
