The Heart Of Freedom

Abraham was rare to have ever found a world leader as dedicated to their nation as the president Of Ukraine. The man's pride and dedication to his nation and his refusal to leave his country when all war broke loose made him catch Lincoln's eye. Abraham would appear in Ukraine after a few days' worth of travel, a small frown on his face the place was in ruins. He had been to Ukraine before but as an angel during his dead time. Now that he was alive the man's heart sunk and shattered into many pieces.

The sheer amount of pain and wafting stench of death and the wails of mothers and fathers. Abraham walked like a ghost amongst the fighters and people crowding in huddled masses with fear in their eyes, awaiting their oppressor's arrival to bomb and ruin their home all the more. Abraham walked slowly, his eyes taking in everything, the sounds, and the feeling reminded him of the time of his Presidency but this was so much worse, so much pain, so much unnecessary destruction of innocent lives on both sides.

Abraham's steps carried him to a church, a service, for fallen men and women and those that were caught in the crossfire. It brought the man grievous pain and agony to see so much agony in this peaceful country, He finally came to where he was asked to come upon the President and ask for his aid in this time of darkness and destruction.. The small meeting place for the Presidents to meet, yet Lincoln renounced his title upon his life and had a second chance, He was just Abraham, no more a President, no more a world leader, just a man trying to help when he could, where he could.

"Abraham," said the voice of the Ukraine President, Abraham looked up upon opening the door, and he smiled with a sad fondness, slowly lowering his body into a half bow "President Zelenskyy It's been an honor to be asked to help" he said as he offered a hand in a shake but was yanked into a hug something that Lincoln was not expecting.

"I am so glad you accepted my letter for a meeting, I have never needed guidance as much as I seem to now," said the Leader as Abraham could hear the strain in his voice. Oh how he knew this stress too well, it was like looking through a mirror, a mirror of his life, in the modern day.

"I am happy to offer help, come sit and let us talk over some hot chocolate or another festive drink. Though I still refrain from Alcoholic drinks" as Zelenskyy bellowed out a happy laugh and smacked Lincoln on the back.

"So the stories about you are true, absent from alcohol and smoke and drugs! Gah I am glad to hear such things! Come yes,. I shall have some hot chocolate placed in the kitchen and we can discuss what can be done to save my home!" He said with graceful cheer as he leads Lincoln to the table where they may sit and discuss something. Abraham smiled as he sat down across from him, but could see despite his cheerful appearance, the man was broken, frail and worn down by the war before him, and the fear in his eyes was understated.

"I do not even know where to begin" spoke the President as Abraham nodded his head slowly as he would allow the man to figure out his words and understand what he could be asked for.

"The war is here Abtsham and I do not have the men to fight Russia, I do not have the weapons, I do not have the ammunition, I have nothing. I can not defend the people I care for, what am I to do?" He asked with a sad defeated and dispair-ridden voice as Abraham leaned forward and looked at him.

"Reminds me of a story" He hummed as he smiled, a small and calm smile as the Ukrainian leader looked up slightly confused about the former president was so calm and happy.

"What makes this a time for a story?" He asked confused Abraham smiled as he stood up walked a few paces around and stopped at a magnificent picture of Ukraine in this meeting room.

"A man named Lincoln once stood where you were, He had the Men but not the generals and no how to defeat his foes, But the one thing he always told himself, was there will always be  something that can fall into place even if the pieces feel like they are lost and scattered on a board we can not see" He said calmly and raised his hands out slightly to glorfy the photo before them.

"You lose your country, Your freedom, When you lose faith, Look around you, you have the men, you have the weapons, you have so many resources, you have the ability to win this war. But you can NEVER give up, because that's when you are forgotten and face the title of coward" He said before spinning slightly to the man and grinning brightly.

"YOu can do this, I have seen it, you stuck it to the American President, you showed you have the heart, you showed your people your willing to die for their freedom, for their dignity as a nation of independence from Russia. Do not let that bald head stubborn muffin scare you Zelenskyy. You have this, you have always had this, now give it all you got" he proclaimed sternly as the President of Ukraine looked a little brighter, almost as if to be spurred by the words of Abraham.

"I will, Yes, We can never fall, we live and or die a nation of UKRAINE! No one can take that away" He agreed as he nodded his head to understand and agree that he would never give up, his country deserved a country and a leader of freedom, of dignity...of their lives to show them that he cared. Abraham beams happily and nods his head as he claps his hand.

"Most wonderful to hear, Now, I can aid a little but I will require a horse, a saber or an axe of silver.  Then I shall ride alongside your men and together we will save this glorious nation" He smiled in agreement as Zelenskyy looked at him a little shocked.

"You would fight for us? With us?"

"Zelenskyy I will always fight when freedom is threatened, be it my country or be it another. Freedom does NOT belong to America solely, we are a world willing to fight for our freedom and when it is called upon me, I will take a Horse and an Axe and Rise into a battle headstrong with no fear for the fight of Freedom!" Abraham smiled as Zelenskyy looked at him with such shock and then amazement that such a man and figure could stand there and proclaim such a powerful few words to him.

"I thank you, I truly truly thank you Abraham, and I know even if your country didn't say it back then, they thank you too. You have always been a beacon for hope in the fight for freedom and liberty and a country to be strong and united even in great darkness" Zelenskyy said with a cheerful smile as Abraham smiled back with the same cheerfulness.

"Come now, I think that Hot chocolate will be truly needed. It's about time we show Putin and his corrupt government that we are to not be trifled with" As he sat down hot chocolate was presented before them and Abraham happily dug in with great happiness as he always loved such a treat!

Tomorrow they would ride out, to meet their foe head-on and show the power of the Ukrainian Motherland.
