Brenton Isley Son Of Hephaestus B renton Isley has never had an easy life, he never met his father, his mother died when he was only four years old. Brenton spent most of his youth moving from care home to care home. While a smart kid, Brenton always struggled at school, he had issues focusing, often daydreamed and it didn’t help that he was dyslexic, writing and reading was also an issue for him. At the age of fourteen, Brenton decided he would be better off on his own. So, he ran away from the care home in which he was staying. While not academically inclined, Brenton was good with his hands, he liked to make things and machines just made sense in his head. He managed to get a small under the table job at a small garage, he made enough to rent a room and afford to eat. He was happy with his life, living in a small room above a garage, working during the day. That was until something strange happened. He was sixteen, on his way home after grabbing some stuff from the local store. He took a shortcut through an alley and found someone just standing there. T he man was massive, wore a hooded jacket and was almost wide enough to take up the full alley. Brenton was about to walk away but the man knelt down onto his hands and knees and then he roared. Which was strange but there was more to it. It was as though a mist had lifted from his eyes, what was once a man now stood a massive Buffalo, Brenton had never seen one in real life but even he knew it was too big to be normal. He wanted to run but his feet wouldn’t move. The beast began running at him. Its head so low to the ground, its nose must have been scraping on the floor. Brenton couldn’t move but it wasn’t fear, it was as though his natural instinct were to stand and fight. He had no weapons, no way to stop the charging beast. Then without warning, two kids appeared beside Brenton, a young man and woman, the man hold a bow, aiming for the beast. The arrow was gold and shining, then when he fired it at the beast, the beast exploded into dust. The pair took Brenton to a place known as Camp Half-Blood, explained that the beast was known as a catoblepas, it was an ancient Greek monster and was there to kill Brenton. Here Brenton learned he was a demi-god, son of a Greek god. Two weeks later, he was walking past the camp forge and suddenly felt drawn towards it, towards a particular hammer sat beside the forge. As soon as he picked it up a bright light appeared above his head. The sign of Hephaestus was floating above his head, declaring that Hephaestus claimed Brenton as his son. Brenton was taken in by the camp of Hephaestus, finally knowing who his father was. Brenton decided it was his life goal to become a Greek hero, to defeat horrendous monsters and save as many people as he could. He pushed himself daily to train with all sorts of weapons. Like many of his siblings, he could build anything in the forge, had instinctive knowledge on machines and how they worked but he was a rare one, able to control fire at his will, even summon it when needed. His weapons of choice being a blade and a hammer. He was a living forge, a warrior made in the flames.
