Today was Dean’s first day back from vacation on Sonny’s island. He took a couple buddies to relax, drink beer and do guy things. He was running late because he couldn’t leave Vivian a mess after they slept together again. Just as they were going to try again, she got attacked and Dean was the one to save her. Being Jason’s son he sees someone he loves in danger he is going to act first before thinking. He knows she will never see him the way she used to, but Dean was okay with that. At least the predator was gone. He walked into the locker room with his brown paper bag that held his breakfast burrito. Today had to get better. He knew today was Lulu’s first day and he was pumped to see his best friend. “Lu! Hey girl it’s good to see you back! What are you doing after shift? Beer and pool? You can tell me if you went back to Logan yet or not.” Dean was clowning around but he had a feeling that Lu at least reached out to the prick. He hated Logan ever since the guy first broke Lulu’s heart. Dean knew he wasn’t one to judge, but Lu was his best friend and he always thought she deserved better than Logan. Logan was an egotistical prick as far as Dean was concerned.
Dean grabbed Lu for one of his famous big bear hugs before sitting his ass down on the bench to eat his own food. So tell me, what is up? What made you decide to move back here? Not that I’m not happy to see you. It’s great to have you back.” Dean mumbled through bites of his burrito. He didn’t know what the future was going to hold for him and Viv but he sure loved her cooking. Food and pie was always the way to his heart. When he finished his burrito he crumpled up the paper and bag with his fist and threw it in the trash can from where he was. “He shoots, he scores for a three pointer,” Dean hollered out with a wink and his little boy smile that girls couldn’t resist. “So, good luck girl. Does Epiphany know your back yet? Elizabeth is going to be thrilled to see you.” Dean followed Lu out of the locker room and towards the nurse’s station. He had one surgery scheduled in an hour and an off the books patient in Sonny’s organization coming in for small stitches.
After Dean grabbed his chart he sat it on the edge and leaned against the counter to grab Lu for one last hug. The tension and anxiety he just had suddenly vanished. Seeing his favorite friend was exactly what Dean needed. It was moment like this that he was glad they never got too serious. He wouldn’t know what he would do without Lu as his friend. On another note, he was starting to realize that maybe a good relationship with a solid friendship just might be the one. Things were way too complicated for him. “Hey, I’ll do my best to kick Dr. P**sy, I mean Leon’s ass. But I’m buying first round at the Floating Rib.” Dean picked up his chart and started towards his patient’s room. He turned, “hey don’t kill any more patients today okay?” Dean teased. “Rumors spread like fire you know,” he teased one last time before walking down to his patient’s room. “Good morning Mr. and Mrs. Baker. How are we feeling today Mrs. Baker? Let’s see if we can get those annoying tonsils out today.” Dean flashed his little boy smile to comfort his patient. Even though it was a simple procedure he liked to make each of his patients feel good about themselves and him.
Logan was laying on his stomach next to Lulu. He had one arm draped across the small of her back towards her butt and his other hand beside his right cheek. He was snoring lightly and completely out until he felt a hand on his arm. Groggily, "Who is it?" Logan asked assuming it was Lu's phone. His dark eyes roamed to his phone when she nodded her head to his side of the bed. His face went very pale when he saw Allie's name across the screen of his phone. He hastily grabbed it off of the nightstand and went into another room to answer his phone. He didn't want to ignore her because the last time he ignored a phone call from Allie, He had to actually have a conversation that was harder than working on the ranch. "I know baby. I will be there tonight I promise. I love you too Allie, but we aren't official you know. You made it perfectly clear that we aren't official and I completely agree. I have to go. I'll call you back. I"m helping a friend right now." Logan tossed his phone back on the night table once he walked back into his bedroom.
Logan stood in the middle of his room looking like a deer in headlights. "Were you going somewhere?" Logan noticed she was dressed in her underwear. He planted his hands on her hips, "Come here. You are my best friend and you understand me like no one ever has. You have been my rock since I got here, helping me with the ranch and my dad. I think we both wanted this for so long. And now we are here together," he slid his fingers through his while nodding his dark head to the bed. "Stay with me tonight and let's be here for each other's comfort." He stated it calmly and sincerely wanting to just lay in bed with her, holding her until they were both asleep. It's the most innocent thing to do and it was what he needed in the moment. Once they were back in bed, he scooted his muscled body towards him with an arm dropped around her neck. His eyes drifted off to sleep again. He hadn't fully slept since he first got back to Port Charles and now he was in a deep slumber.
The sun started creeping through the blinds, waking Logan up instantly. He normally was an early riser because he liked to get up when the sun rose and go for a jog. This time it was his conscious speaking to him for once. He had just slept with his best friend who he loved and at the same time trying to make a relationship work with Allie. "Lu, you mean everything to me. You are my best friend and I can't lie to you." Logan's jawline was tense with guilt and shame. He should have known better and told her last night. "I didn't want to ruin what shared last night. It meant the world to me. The call last night was from Allie. I've been trying to make things work again but I love you, Lulu. You are my person and the only one who really truly understands me and what I'm going through. I know I'd be taking a risk telling you now but you used to tell me to always be honest with you and that's what I'm doing. I'm being honest because I don't want to make the same mistakes with you.
Logan sat at the edge of his bed just looking at Lulu with his dark brown eyes. Looking lost and teary-eyed even. He hated seeing the look of pain in her eyes and knowing that he was the cause of the pain. So he sat there and listen to him tear him apart because that was what he deserved. "Lu," Logan whispered when she was done. He knew nothing he could say would fix this and if he did say anything it would just make things worse. He watched her storm out of his room and heard the door slam. The rest of the day he spent punishing himself by working on the ranch all day. He had originally planned on looking for an office space for himself to restart his law career in Port Charles. Leaning against the fence that held the horses, he pulled out his phone to send a simple text message to Lulu. "I'm sorry :(." It was all he had and hoped that since Lulu was his friend that she would understand the simple message.
