About me:
Who I'd like to meet:

Storybrooke

One evening, Dr. Whale is out on a date with Mary Margaret at the diner. He jokingly makes a comment about her wanting fifteen kids, which Mary Margaret refutes by saying she is a teacher to fifteen children. She goes on to tell him about how her desire to have everything in a relationship such as marriage and kids, but abruptly notices he is not paying the slightest attention to the conversation. Instead, he is busy ogling Ruby as she works on her waitress shift. Seeing as the date is going badly, Mary Margaret asks for the check to end the dinner. After Henry's insistence, Mary Margaret begins to read the storybook to John Doe, telling the story of how Prince Charming chased a thief and later fell in love with each other. As she comes to the end of the story, John Doe suddenly grabs her hand while still unconscious. She calls for Dr. Whale, but after checking the brain-wave readings, he lies and states nothing out of the ordinary occurred. He suggests Mary Margaret imagined things, and urges her go home to get some sleep. After she is gone, Dr. Whale calls Regina to notify her there was some minor brain-wave fluctuation in John Doe, and Mary Margaret's involvement in the whole thing.

When David awakes and is discharged from the hospital, Dr. Whale attends his welcome home party. Though David's wife, Kathryn, tries to reintroduce him to old friends, he does not remember anyone there, which the doctor says is normal. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Whale runs into Mary Margaret at the diner and brags it was under his doctorly watch that David was able to come out of his coma.

Mary Margaret, heartbroken over her feelings for David, she takes comfort in Dr. Whale. The next morning, Emma mistakenly believes the flowers sitting on the counter of the apartment are from Sheriff Graham, but Mary Margaret admits she and Dr. Whale had a one night stand.

A few weeks later, when Ruby quits her job at the diner and makes plans to take a bus ride out of town, Dr. Whale approaches her on the street and tries to help. Instinctively, Ruby can tell he has less than honorable intentions, and insists she can handle herself. From behind, Mary Margaret and Emma stumble onto the scene, and after a few cues, Dr. Whale takes the hint to leave. Jobless and without a home, Mary Margaret and Emma agree to take Ruby in until she can find work.

Following the disappearance of Kathryn, David walks through a confused haze in the forest looking for her. Later, a collapsed and amnesiac David is found and whisked back to the hospital for an evaluation. On Dr. Whale's words, he believes David's episode is similar to the one experienced when he first came out of the coma. David becomes distraught and fearful over his inability to remember anything while in the forest, and suspects himself to have killed Kathryn. Regina barges into the hospital wing while Emma demands to know what she came. Dr. Whale fills Emma in on Regina's status as David's emergency contact, and allows him to leave the hospital.

When Henry is brought to the hospital after taking a bite of Regina's poisoned apple turnover, Dr. Whale tries to treat the aliment, but doesn't believe the boy to be poisoned, yet can't find what is causing the reaction. From this, Emma realizes Henry was right about magic's existence, and it caused him to be poisoned.

Land With No Color

In the Land Without Color, Dr. Victor Frankenstein is celebrating Christmas with his father Alphonse and his brother Gerhardt. Alphonse gives a gift to each of his sons. To Gerhardt, he bestows a watch that had been his mother's, and Victor's gift is a commission to join the army as a physician. This will require Victor to abandon his scientific exploits, which have been funded by his father's money and housed in the family's summer home. Though Victor pleads, his father no longer supports him. Victor is preparing to leave his father's home after being forced to abandon his scientific work and join the army instead. Gerhardt runs after him, and attempts to comfort him by giving him the watch. Victor tells Gerhardt to keep it, and he will find a way to complete his work. As the two depart, Rumplestiltskin watches from behind the shrubs.

Later, Victor is packing away his equipment when Rumplestiltskin appears before him. Rumplestiltskin tells Dr. Frankenstein he is interested in the scientists work; even though the funding is gone. As Dr. Frankenstein listens, Rumplestiltskin wants to know how the doctor restores life as the land he is fromthe Enchanted Forestthat would not be possible to do with magic. He offers Victor a large sum of money in exchange for more details on how he resurrects the dead. Victor agrees to the deal just as his assistant Igor reenters the lab. Victor wants to introduce him to Rumplestiltskin, but the man is already gone. Dr. Frankenstein tells Igor to bring the equipment back so they can search for a body to experiment on.

Victor travels to a graveyard, where he goes digging for a body. He is approached by Gerhardt, who shows a negative opinion on Victor's strategies in his scientific work. They are caught by the graveyard guard who shoots at them. The two brothers hop into the carriage, but Gerhardt has substained a gunshot wound and dies. Victor takes his corpse to the lab, and prepares to bring him back to life via experimentation, but Gerhardt's heart can't handle the strain and burns to a blackened, charred state. Alphonse arrives and asks about the corpse Victor had brought with him. Noticing the corpse is actually Gerhardt's, Alphonse furiously blames Victor for his death. Despite trying to explain he wants to bring Gerhardt back so his father can have both his sons back, Alphonse angrily replies now he has no sons.

Dr. Frankenstein is brought from his world by the Mad Hatter, seemingly due to his immense knowledge, claims of being able to bring people back from the dead, and powers beyond magic. He meets the Queen, Regina, for the first time in the gardens of the palace. While Regina calls him a wizard, he corrects her for his preferred titledoctor. After requesting to see his patient, Regina escorts him to the glass coffin containing Daniel's body. As Jefferson and Regina look on, Dr. Frankenstein makes an incision in Daniel's hand, which draws fresh red blood; stating the body is in a perfect state to undergo the procedure. However, he requires a strong heart as he has tried to use hearts in his own world and they have not been successful in his procedures. Regina balks at this, but Jefferson reassures her.

She takes Dr. Frankenstein and Jefferson to Cora's abandoned home, and informs them her mother was a collector of hearts. Regina asks Dr. Frankenstein to listen closely, and a faint and distant heartbeat is heard. Upon approach towards the fireplace, Regina opens it to grant herself and the two men access into the vault. From top to bottom on the walls glowing, beating hearts pulse. She tells the doctor to pick any one of them. Dr. Frankenstein reaches into a box and takes out one he deems perfect.

Outside the castle on a hill in the forest on a stormy night, Dr. Frankenstein sets up a tent with Daniel's body inside as Regina and Jefferson stand outside in wait. From inside, Dr. Frankenstein moves to insert the heart. After Dr. Frankenstein is finished, he comes out. Regina thinks the operation was a success, but he apologizes; stating the heart was not strong enough and Daniel can't be revived.

The next day, in the forest after the storm has passed, Dr. Frankenstein and Jefferson are walking and encounter Rumplestiltskin. He inquires if the terms of the bargain are satisfied, to which Dr. Frankenstein affirms it, and reveals the box containing the heart he took from Cora's vault; indicating he did not attempt to put it in Daniel at all. Dr. Frankenstein inquires whether Rumplestiltskin got what he wanted out of their deal. Rumplestiltskin details how Regina has changed, and wishes Dr. Frankenstein luck with creating his own "monster." They argue whether magic is the most dependable source of power with Rumplestltskin placing a wager as to whether or not Dr. Frankenstein will need magic in the future. Confidently, Dr. Frankenstein indicates he won't, but agrees nonetheless. Jefferson opens the portal to Dr. Frankenstein's world and as they jump in, Rumplestiltskin reminds him any magic comes with a price.

In Alphonse's summer home in the Land Without Color, Dr. Frankenstein enters to show Igor the glowing heart he received, and proceeds to insert it into Gerhardt's chest. They wait to see if the transplant is a success. Suddenly, a stitched hand comes out from beneath the sheet. Dr. Frankenstein grabs it and states that the creature is alive. Astonished, Igor is in awe of the magic, but Dr. Frankenstein states it is science that made this possible.

Excited by his accomplishment, Victor shows Gerhardt to Alphonse. Though Victor says Gerhardt is still adjusting, Alphonse examines him and realizes this person is not his son. In a fit of rage, Alphonse physically attacks Victor. Agitated by the commotion, Gerhardt pulls his father to the ground and beats him to death.

After the ordeal, Victor visits Gerhardt in a locked tower room. Armed with a pistol, Victor approaches his brother. When Gerhardt sees the gun, he grabs and aims it at his own head. Even so, Victor cannot bring himself to go through with it and leaves.

Gretel had been annoyed for a split moment, before she realized that they were apologizing to her. She wasn't used to people apologizing to her. She offered him a small smile. She opened her mouth as if to say something. She was almost tempted to ask him about if he could find out what was wrong with her and her brother, but they had said that they weren't going to say anything to anyone. She wasn't going to make any decisions without her brother. She nodded to him. "It is alright. It was an accident and no harm done. I still have my food intact," she chuckled as she turned around and started to walk away before she could change her mind.

She had really wanted to ask for his help. He could maybe know something, but she was going to bring her brother into the loop first. She wasn't sure if she was going to be followed, so she decided to take the long way home. She weaved in and through different buildings before finally deciding to head to the cabin. She trekked through the woods. Climbing over some of the fallen trees and she finally caught sight of the cabin, before opening the door without even knocking. She knew that her brother was going to be inside as he looked over to her. "Took you long enough, my food better not be cold," she said as she chucked his food at him still in the bag.

"You should be glad I even got you food, jerk," she laughed as he wasn't ready and his food hit him in the head, dropping to the floor. Luckily for him the food had managed to stay in the bag as it hit the ground. She climbed into the chair next to his bringing her food out of the bag, taking a bite out of her burger before speaking. "So I ran into Dr. Whale today, I was almost tempted to see if he could find out what is wrong with us," she spoke as she popped a fry into her mouth. "What is wrong with us?! You act like it is a bad thing. So what if we are older? We have some skills and can't be bossed around by adults," he spoke as he ate his burger.

"I know," she started. "But don't you miss being a kid?" she asked looking over to her brother. "Not really. We went through that stage already Gretel. We technically grew up. Just faster than others is all. We are probably the same age as the adults around here now, but we don't have to listen to them. We can be our own people, Gretel. Isn't that what we wanted?" he looked over placing his hand over hers. She nodded. "Yes, but what if it isn't permanent? Shouldn't we at least find out?" she looked at him as he nodded his head in agreement as her eyes light up a bit. "So you think we should try and talk to Whale? See if maybe he can help out. We could set an appointment so we could talk to him privately," she started speaking.

Her brother had lost her several breaths ago as he just nodded his head that he agreed with what she was saying. "It might be smart if only one of us goes. You know, in case we get in trouble. I can be the one to go," she stated as she felt he was going to argue that he should be the one to go, but he didn't. He just scoffed at her, which in turn made her lightly smack him upside the head. It was decided. They were going to go see Whale about seeing if he knew what happened to them.

"There was nothing but paper work today at the shelter. So it was not a problem at all." She told him with a smile. "A few appointments but nothing emergency wise, and my assistant can take care of that. But you are welcome, anytime someone needs help especially if it has to do with helping people I am there." Red had gotten her black coffee and put it in a sleeve so she wouldn't burn herself. It was probably going to be a long day the what she wanted. Her daughter knew to come straight to the hospital once school was let out.

Jasmine was slightly confused, "Well enough knowledge to help, don't expect me to know the human body as much as I know the animal body." She joked. It was true that she had knowledge of both human and animal bodies, just as long it didn't have to do with doing surgeries. She knew nothing about the way a human body worked when it came to surgery. Animals were her specialty. She just knew humans when it came to other stuff, such as fever or just sick in general.

She nodded, she held her coffee and grabbed her purse and put it on her shoulder as she left Granny's waiting for him. "Victor, you're not from the Enchanted Forest are you?" She asked. "I was there, when you told David, he wasn't your prince. That is assuming something, either you're not exactly from the Enchanted Forest, or on the very outskirts of the forest, and also saying you had another royal family that you were loyal to."

She paused, "David isn't my prince - considering I'm a princess myself. I wouldn't let him rule over me even if I were in his kingdom, considering also who I am. Royals don't do that. I wouldn't dare let him try to say anything. He wasn't born royal either just married into. His brother on the hand, well he was a jerk.' If Dr. Whale didn't want to speak of where he was from, she wouldn't push it. Though sometimes people just wanted to talk.

Layla was confident over what was going to go on at the hospital. Back in their world, Jasmine acted as a doctor, as she worked in the small hospitals. Now where they were from, there was no heart monitors, or anything like that. It was all herbal medicine and all of the people she had looked after were perfectly fine. Though she didn't have the degree in being a doctor, though no one had real degree's they were all cursed with their knowledge. Luckily for them, the knowledge stuck after the curse had broken. Or the town would have gone to hell if their knowledge had vanished from their cursed selves.

Layla put her phone back on the desk and put it in the charger. It was going to be a longer day then she actually wanted. After the wraith had happened, people were still in the hospitals coming in, not caring if they were hurt. All they wanted to find their loved ones. That was probably why, Dr. Whale needed the help. Which she understood, people were even coming into the shelter claiming their dogs, or wanting animals for their children. In just a day, she had adopted out ten animals, five cats and five dogs and a few other small animals.

Closing her eyes, she went into the backroom, and grabbed her bag unplugging her phone charger, placing both her phone in her purse and her charger. She made sure each animal had their food and their water. She also made sure that the dog doors worked and the dogs were able to go out when they wanted. Knowing it was okay she turned off the lights and only small dim lights were turned on. Finally she reached the front of the shelter she put the curtains down and put the open sign to the closed sign and left the shelter. It was still day light.

Once she knew that the shelter was closed for the day, she also had to make sure that she didn't have any appointments, which she didn't or she would have aggrieved to come and help. She needed the coffee first. She went into Granny's being right next door. "Hey Granny, how are things now?" Layla asked. "Good to see you Jasmine," Granny said. "Have you herad anything.are Snow and Emma back yet?" Granny shook her head, "Not yet, can I get you anything..." "Coffee to go." She had yet to see Dr. Whale on one of the stools.

She sat next to him, "What exactly are you going to get me into while you need help?" She asked, taking the warm coffee into her hands and grabbing a cardboard so she wouldn't burn her hands. "Just know, I have some knowledge, I mean, nothing like this lands medical stuff. I know the herbal stuff back in our world, in Agrabah. I helped out at the hospitals."

ooc; Please please take all the time you need. This is super late, four months late.

The long hours were turning into excruciating days, and the days were turning into endless weeks that she spent awaiting for a change of a new beginning. Her only friend was hidden away, tucked tightly in a secure hide-out from the queen and her grandmother was still stuck in the village that was currently searching for Red's beastly form. In the rhythm of such a life, of such a passing of the time, the cloaked woman had imagined she would live forever. And, still things were changing around her, things were moving by her, people were getting born, then getting married, and eventually dying before the proper age of dying yet, who was there to say for good when that would have to occur?

For, was it to be that way, Red would have gladly sacrificed her life, in order to rid herself of that tormented existence, which could hardly still be called existence to start with.

She was living a life of exile and it was becoming more and more loathsome with each passing day. And, still, it hardly mattered anyway. For Rose Red was close to being dead; inside, much more than outside. And still her body denied the surrender; still her organism was screaming through its all pores, for her to live, for her to go out and have her own life. She was torn away from her thoughts long enough to smile at her new-found acquaintance as they carried onward to the cottage in the center of the field.

"At least there's one good bright side of your little trip here, you see a whole new visionary world. Not many could say that, especially from where you are from." Red assured him, for that is what she wanted. To flee from the cottage and the homestead life and travel the worlds and see and experience new things. But alas, her inner-wolf was still untamed. It was still far too dangerous for those creatures or humans who neared her.

"I must tell you that I'm green with envy in a way, for I'm not fortunate enough to stray too far from my origin" She smirked, teasing of course, but the underlying truth still lingered. As Red led past the large trees and bushes, she could see her cabin on the top of the small hill and smiled, "We're almost there. It's just up ahead. Home sweet home." As temporary as it was, it was her sanctuary for the time being.

☾

Ruby, without thinking, drew closer to the doctor; instantly wishing she could remove the sadness from his eyes. Yet all she could really do was listen, to assure him, and truthfully tell him what kind of person he really was. Her mother died believing that her one and only daughter was a traitor to their people; when it was honestly an accident. She wanted to be one of the Children of the Moon, she wanted desperately to belong somewhere where she was accepted and of her kind. But in turn for ending another life, she was exiled and became a lone wolf ever since. All because she thought friendship was important -- even still, that is what she lived by. She didn't regret saving Snow White, she only wished that things hadn't gone so awry. She would love the opportunity to go back and find some other way to save her mother and Snow. Unfortunately, magic wasn't exactly capable of rewinding time. Not any magic she heard of, anyway.

In Victor's case, he tried his very best to show his father that he was deserving of his love and approval. Nevertheless, the man was bitter and spiteful -- for no reason either! It wasn't his fault that Whale's mother, his wife, perished like she did. Ruby frowned, gently squeezing the hand that she held, "You did everything you could and then some. Sometimes...you can never be just good enough for some people. And that...well, that really sucks. Especially since I know what an amazing person you are, Vic. You're smart, kind, caring as one could possibly be," she paused, leaning in ever so, "and of course, easy on the eyes. I wouldn't leave that one out, don't worry." But teasing aside, she really meant her words.

"Your mother would be so proud of you, Whale. Just like I am."

A smile quickly reappeared, head turned to the side with a bashful notion taking over her features. "I'm sure one day we shall find out whether your brother approves of me or not." Words filled with hope and promise, looking for a better tomorrow. But for right now, she enjoyed this time and the small peck that was placed on the back of her hand. Such manners were hardly seen around here these days, it was a more common gesture in the Land of Magic. A nice little reminiscent idea, Ruby believed. Free hand reached up to cup his cheek, keeping him focused on her but also to caress subtly to grab his attention.

"As are you, Victor. Whether you believe it or no-"

"Doctor? Doctor!" No knock, not even a warning and a young nurse swooped right on in the office; eyeing the she-wolf up before clearing her throat; Ruby instantly removing her hand from his and placing a fair share of distance between their beings, shifting uncomfortably. The nurse cleared her throat, shaking her head, "Doctor Whale, you're needed right away. Sneezy is in a wheezing fit and no one can calm him." That was Ruby's queue to depart while she had some integrity left given the sudden intrusion. Ruby grabbed her purse and her now-empty basket, putting on a smile for show. "Perhaps I've overstayed my welcome, I should really get back to Granny's."

"I'm sure she's looking for her little mutt in heat." The nurse murmured under her breath; Red's jaw dropping in disbelief having heard the snide remark; scoffing. Oh yes, it was really time to go. "I'll uh, see you another time, Doctor Whale." Formalities back in effect, Ruby brushed right past the nurse and hurried down the hall.

Jul 1st 2015 - 4:43 PM

A frown lingered on the she-wolf's features as she listened to the man's talk of science and doodads that involve his world; finding it to be intriguing yet...sad at the same time. "A land without color? How" What was it really to her? It seemed so disinteresting in every way. Maybe that's why this land was brighter, full of mystical color and wonders within it despite the darkness that resided over them all. "How strange," she finally responded -- hoping it to not be offensive to the one that could potentially cure her of her "disease".

"Though I'm sure this place is just as equally strange to you as yours might've been to me if I ever laid eyes on it." She pledged an assuring smile, glancing his way once again to ease whatever tension lingered between the two strangers.

"But this place...it's still a great mystery to us all. Those who travel constantly learns something new, whether it be magical or deadly...and yet it's all still wonderful." Despite it all, Red was happy that she was free from the restraints of being kept hidden from the rest of the world. Her grandmother meant well, she really did, but the world was constantly calling her name. She needed to roam, to be free, to live the life she was destined for. Now if she could just get rid of her furry problem

"Thankfully we will get that little problem of yours sorted out." Red assured him, gently nudging his arm with hers to help relax him during this trek. "I'm an excellent tracker. After all, I did find you." She mused proudly, a hint of amusement lingering in her tone. "You'll be home in no time, don't you worry."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Alright...you have a point. But I wouldn't let her shoot an arrow anywhere near your direction." Ruby said through a series of small chuckles. Granny never had a problem with Whale, aside from all the times that the elder woman caught Whale eyeing her granddaughter up"Mmn, better yet, just to play it safe...Why don't you call or send me a text before you swing by, that way I'll be there to protect you. I'll even sit with you if we're not that busy at the time." Ruby partially teased right before sipping at her water again; quenching her thirst after that satisfying lunch.

The second he considered it, she nearly beamed. The more familiar, friendly faces, the better. Whale was a good man, someone she easily got along with, and also someone she could talk to when hitting a rough patch. Whether he thought the same about her, she didn't have a precise clue, but she hoped he enjoyed her company as he said he did; perhaps as well as she did his.

"I'm lucky to have you too, Victor."

A flush crept up on her before she had a chance to fight them away, having not expected him to praise his fortune of having her in his life. It was honestly...nice to hear? Did that make any sense? How could it to anyone else? But to her, it was wonderful. It meant she was with perfect company, someone who doesn't overshadow her or forget. She chewed the inside of her lip, glancing to the floor long enough to coax the blush away. She wasn't some sappy schoolgirl, control needed to be had. Especially when she was around him.

Clearing her throat and taking a subtle breath, trying her damnedest to not make it so obvious, Ruby continued the conversation as required of her. A hand reached out to place itself over his, gently squeezing it as he looked back and reflected on the dreams regarding the death of his father. "From what you've told me, your father was never kind or fair to you. You couldn't pity the man, I certainly couldn't" She leaned in ever so, thumb gently stroking the back of his hand to further calm him. "You tried with all your might to bring your brother back, you never gave up on him. Though the end result didn't work in your favor, you could at least say you tried. You tried to do what you thought was right at the time, given the circumstance. It may not have been right but you're heart was in the right place."

"Theory? Studies?" She pursed her lips, "is it like our version of spoken tales and lore?" Brows furrowed, she stared ahead; figuring on her own that it wasn't right and it was best of her not to make herself out to look like a fool in front of him. As she made way forward, heading straight back to her safe little haven away from all villages and people, Red made sure that this new acquaintance - Victor Frankenstein - was right in-step of her and not straying as the chilly lush of breezes persevered. His entire getup was odd, for he looked like a complete outsider to this world right off the bat. It was certainly unusual attire for an estranged adventurer. Not only that, but he acted as if he hadn't a clue as to how this world worked. Thank the Gods he hadn't fallen under the merciless Queen's wrath; he'd likely be a prisoner or worse, a lifeless victim this very day.

A curious brow perked up as the Doctor explained himself the best he could given the circumstance. Science was all too foreign to her when she grew up on tales and magic. Still, she was wondering just what she could muster out of the man. Perhaps she could even get him to tell her little drabbles of his life and where he sprung from; his origin, even.

If he was willing to trust her with the information, that is.

"Though I've heard a lot about you in the recent days, I must ask, what is your world like? I mean, why exactly decide leaving it when all you seem to be doing now is find a way back home again?" There had to be just reason and cause, but what important enough to travel through endless realms...unless he was searching for something, or someone? Oh how her mind started to ponder on its own

☾

"Oh don't be silly, Granny is harmless!" The elder woman was someone that you couldn't easily miss. She may look like a sweet old grandmother but there was a fire in her like no other. Even The Dark One makes sure to stay out of her way when she's in one of her tangents. But Granny would never hurt a living soul unless they deserved it first. Ruby has seen all sides of her, her good, bad, and the plain ugly...but at the end of the day, that old bat was her hero that taught her everything that she knew and then some.

She was there for her when her own mother was out gallivanting her pack. Thanks to Granny, Red survived a hard life and came out on the better side of it and that was what made Widow Lucas an amazing person to look up to. "You should definitely swing by more often, I might even be nice enough to give you a treat on the house...but if she does have her crossbow out, I'd take a to-go lunch that day." She teased back; with all that she believed Granny to be, she wouldn't put it past the woman to get riled up enough to pull out her trusty weapon of choice to shut those "no-gooders" up.

"You see? That's a sign that you need to take off and get away from this place!" Even she had a day off once every week from the diner. Most days she went on a run, getting lost in the forest where everything was blissful and quiet and not even thinking of returning until the moon was just starting to disappear over the trees so the sun could shine again. "I'm gonna have to feed you and force you to get out some more." Ruby nudged him again; and still, she was playing along but there was hint of seriousness in her tone. The life he was currently living wasn't healthy for him whatsoever.

He needed to worry less and live more.

"See? There you go doubting yourself again, sweets. Have you met half of Storybrooke? Some of these people lived crazier, darker lives than us! And I've read the books and watched the movies, and let me tell you, you're a helluva lot better than that Gene Walker guy."

Taking the final bite of her sandwich whilst nursing it down with her water, Ruby nodded along to his question; she did want to hear about his nightmares since it was very rare to see him so shaken by something. And if he trusted her enough to listen, how could she really say no to that? "I think I can handle it, I'm a big girl. Now tell me, please." The she-wolf retorted in a soft tone, not wanting to make him feel uncomfortable or forced in any way. This was part of his life troubles after all, a sensitive area in the range of his emotions; so she was going to treat this with great care

Red took the opportunity to give him an all-knowing glance his way, adding a smile to the table as well when he too gave his name formally. Well, as formal as it could be given the situation they found themselves in; she needing his help and he needing hers. "That I did, but it's always nice to be personally introduced; for which I thank you." This would be the start of something grand -- she believed If he was as truly powerful as they all rumored him to be, the beast that has riddled her soul with darkness over the increasing number of kills would soon be vanquished by mag...science, as he tend to call it.

Her grandmother would likely be pleased, angry at first for trusting a stranger over this matter, but likely satisfied with having to not worry over the consequences of her actions. Snow'd likely enjoy not having to worry about getting eaten on a full moon either. It would be a hard hit against them, losing a powerful weapon against the Evil Queen and her riled forces at her defense, but it would all be better in the end...hopefully.

The door was opened and the she-wolf stepped out into the bristle air in the wake of evening. There was too short of time to dilly dally around before the moon was out -- thankfully, it wasn't Wolfstime for another few days. But still, she could feel the change on the rise. Wilder blood swept through her veins wave upon wave in a shocking effect. However, these feelings were still fresh and weak, so she still had time. Time to explain her situation and have him cure her of this insufferable life, and with the guilt that came with it. So many innocent villagers, her beloved Peter, her own mother, and numerous soldiers under Regina's command...It's almost like she's accustomed to killing now.

She loathes that thought.

Keeping her mind from her despicable thoughts, Red focused on something else instead. "So tell me, Victor, what is this science you speak of? Is it magic of your land?" She raised a brow, not to be insulting but genuinely curious as they trekked side by side out of the village towards her home hidden in the outskirts.

Storybrooke was like a weird high school with many of their cliques. The royal Charming clan stayed together for the most part, even becoming homebodies in a sense aside from Emma continuing on as sheriff over the town. And Henry, she forgot that kid, who was always out and about, getting any and every chance to spend with Regina now that she was genuinely trying to be good for his sake and her own. The dwarves always kept with their own as well as the nuns who had all sorts of fairy things to tend to, whatever those may be she has yet to find out. And the rest just tend to dawdle on by, trying to pick up the pieces of their own lives and not cause a fuss that only adds to the continuous chaos around here.

And then there was Ruby, who once had quite the reckless reputation as the Storybrooke whore. She was a piece of meat to those that sought out a quick fix for their needs, but even they didn't realize that Ruby Lucas wasn't interested. Sure, she flirted. Hell yes, she got into trouble. But she wasn't about to take that step and go that extra mile with every Tom, D*ck, and Harry that offers her a tip and a Cheshire cat grin. Now that she wasn't as wild and scanty, they all stare her down as if they were facing a potential predator.

Maybe this was why she enjoyed Whale's company so much.
After all, monsters gotta stick together.

"When you feel alone, you know you don't have to keep yourself hidden away from the world, right? You can always swing by the diner or, hell, find a hobby that you might enjoy. But staying here all the time isn't doing you any good at all. I'm afraid to even ask when your last day off was"

Deciding it best to drop the subject in fear of turning into a maternal type over him, she mustered a laugh over what he then declared. "You're smart for thinking that way, Doc. But I'm sure you're breaking many, many hearts. Princess' hearts included." Ruby snickered aimlessly as she took a quick sip of her water. The whole Mary Margaret-Whale fiasco was taken way too far. Sure she jokes about it but she saw no point in anyone holding a grudge. Whale was a woman-chaser, yes, but that didn't mean Mary Margaret was as innocent and pure as she appeared to be. What happened that night took two.

"Thank you for being the first person around here that actually makes sense instead of following Tink's stash of pixie dust to and fro in search of their one true love crap." What was the fun of experiencing life if you had a soulmate handpicked for you by fate? It was too easy, too cliche, and too silly to involve herself in that game.

Her smile quickly returned, both taken by his kind words and warmed by the thought that she wasn't as bad as she thought. In Storybrooke, many believe that you're either good or evil -- but Ruby found herself stuck in her own limbo, a gray between black and white, light and dark. But today, thanks to him, she could honestly see herself as a good person at heart and that is all that mattered. The she-wolf rolled her eyes and gently punched him on the arm, "Next time you call me adorable in wolf form, you better start running. I might even give you a ten-second head-start." She teased, clearly having no real bite behind it. "But about those nightmares, care to share what you mean by them?"

His interest in her words were clearly piqued; not that she was the least bit surprised, honestly. She recognized a desperate soul longing for something far beyond his reach in just the few short moments she had sat with him. And in return, she could only imagine that he saw the very same in her. Yet he was in the dark still over what her true problem had been. Gods, I hope he knows how to fix this. To fix me. The sooner the better too, for both her and all those close to her that risk experiencing an untimely death like her beloved Peter was forced to endure. No, she wasn't going to have anymore people die because of the monstrosity the moon creates. Red refused planting more guilt that weighed her heart and soul down.

Emerald green hues scanned carefully into a set of sea blue eyes that were transfixed on her. Red caught him off-guard with the chatter of the mad hatter that perused the enchanted realms. Though she had never met him in person, she's always heard of stories upon stories of previous encounters from the folks that she meets along her adventures in the woods. Nevertheless, Red held her tongue from saying anything further - not until she was certain he would consider it. And in a few short moments, the strange, fascinating man stepped up and made his decision evident.

Alas, a deal was struck.
Now if only each of them could hold to their bargain

The softest of smiles appeared on the she-wolf's lips, thankful and still very surprised that he'd go on her word just like that. These were dark times and hardly anyone could be trusted; even she was wary of the alleged proclaimed wizard of sciences but desperation won out regardless of it all. "Then we best be off, Doctor, for daylight is in short supply and danger lurks the woods at sundown." Standing from the table, she lifted her red hood to cover her head, taking slow paces throughout the tavern to the exit where she waited for him to follow.

"By the way, the name is Red."

"I bet," Ruby retorted, half-teasing but also very curious of what exactly it was that Whale was getting himself into these days. She knew that he was going to do whatever it took to return to the world and see what happened to his poor brother that's living a life of misery as they all know it - if he's even alive at all. Regardless, the question was, how far would Whale go to see to it that he gets what he wants in the end? Would he seek out the Dark One again? Or were there darker "connections" to turn to? Either way, Red was ultimately concerned for him.

"Something tells me that you practically live in this office of yours these days...Maybe you should, yanno, take a few days off, go home, if you remember where your bachelor pad is" She teased, keeping her tone light and playful while trying to keep him from destroying himself all the same.

"Oh please," Ruby huffed in amusement while she set up a nice little spot for herself to eat while making sure he had plenty of room for him as well, "there isn't a young nurse here that doesn't look at you or even speak of you without having those lovey-dovey heart eyes." He was known for being a womanizer, at least when the curse was in effect. Still, women continuously marveled over him.

"Then again, no one can really blame them. You are typically the perfect catch. Handsome, smart, great personality, and you're a successful doctor...minus the whole Frankenstein backstory. But maybe you should stay away from fair princesses from now on, who knows you might find yourself a nice girl." The she-wolf winked prior to setting the conversation aside, returning to something rather serious given their previous banter.

Her smile faltered somewhat, knowing exactly how he was feeling and why. There isn't a day that goes by that she wished for a cursed life once more. People called her crazy time and time again for it but...honestly, Regina granted her the best of wishes by bringing them all to Storybrooke with whole new identities. The last thing that the flirty, scanty Ruby Lucas ever had to worry about was a verbal round with Granny over staying out late when she was supposed to open the diner the next day; not how many kills she had under her belt with the wolf and the battle she fought alongside Snow and Charming.

"I know you do." She spoke softly as a hand was gently placed on his shoulder, assuring him the only way she knew how. "You know, you don't have to go through it alone. You have friends, Whale, believe it or not. And if there's a will, there's always a way." Her hand gently squeezed his shoulder before dropping it back to her side, huffing as she shook her head. She never enjoyed talking about her life, mainly because she despised complaining -- there was always someone suffering, someone enduring the absolute worst compared to her simple, modest life at the diner and B&B.

"I'm doing the best I can each day, some nights are worse than others - especially during Wolfstime with the nightmares. However, I think I've controlled my "other" half pretty well in this new land." Her eyes dropped to the food in her hands, sighing, "Part of me embraces the wolf while the other just...wishes it gone forever."

Jasmine listened to what he had to say as she chased her daughter around the apartment. She did not want to go into the hospital to get a shot. But it was because of the school terms, it had changed a little bit. She did not know why, it had changed overnight dramatically. When she heard, him asking if she could come down and shadow him. She didn't think of it for a second. Yes, she did have the skill, but they did get their degrees and their experience of their life careers from a curse. Most people had wanted to leave town, the next day after the curse had broken.

Though, no one forgot their skills, they had done in the 28 years. Which was lucky for them, they had knowledge of their cursed self and their enchanted forest self. Some were medical workers in their world, and were something different currently. Though, no one knew who they were. Plus, they didn't have the skills and knowledge of stuff like surgery, right operating equipment. Once Layla thought about enough, "I don't see why I can't." she said as she went through the appointment books for the animals. There weren't any appointments within the next couple days and or weeks. Everyone had Layla's personal number in case of an emergency with their animals.

She wasn't sure how it was going to work out, but she did have enough knowledge as to where she wouldn't mess up. She knew the human system. She had been to the hospital enough times, where she had knowledge of stuff. Sure, she did stuff on animals, but maybe the human and the animal system were pretty much the same basic course. After the curse broke, Jasmine was desperate to find her father. But with the few weeks going by, Jasmine had given up finding her father. Knowing he was not there.

Jasmine shifted through her sheet of papers stacking them in the rack of papers and filing some of them while still on the phone with Whale. She seriously wondered how all the sudden the hospital was less staffed currently. It was not like that at all during the curse. Though half of the people probably took breaks because they wanted to be with their families, not being with them for 28 years. Some of them and half of them were just volunteers. They didn't need to go back.

Looking at the time on the wall clock, "I can be there in fifth teen minutes." Jasmine said. "Aaliyah has a appointment for her yearly shot anyways." Once she heard the last part of the conversation, she hung up her phone, fed her animals let them out one last time, and then finally went to the front to grab her daughter for the walk to the hospital. Once she was there, Jasmine checked her daughter in and they waited in the pediatrician of the hospital.

With the curse broken, everything had a gone back to how things use to be, even with everyone wanting to back to the Enchanted Forest. But because Regina had started that there was no forest to back to, Jasmine knew it was impossible to get back to Agrabah. Frankly, Agrabah was not the best place to raise a six year old child. She had reunited with Aladdin after the 28 years. She was one of those people who didn't want to leave town because of something so simple like Regina's magic. Knowing people still feared the mayor, people strayed away from her and kept their distance.

A few weeks had gone by and Emma and Snow were still not back in Storybrooke. But things were running smoothly and Aaliyah; her daughter had gone back to school but Jasmine needed to take her out for a yearly checkup that involved a shot. Sighing, as she made her rounds around the animal shelter, cleaning up the back yard, and letting the dogs out for a few hours along with cleaning out the kitty litter. It was actually a very busy day that day, day after day people were adopting the animals. She was so thankful for that, but there were still many animals there.

"Okay, here we are." Jasmine said as she entered her last appointment for the day before she spent the rest of with her daughter after a doctor's visit. "What seems to be the problem, exactly?" Jasmine asked as she put on her gloves on and took the dogs temperature and took a look at the mouth to check for the health of the teeth and wrote everything down on the clip board. Frankly, she didn't see why the woman brought in the dog in the first place.

"There is absolutely nothing wrong with your pup, he's the sweetest thing ever." Jasmine said. "Heisn'teating." The owner said, and raised her eyebrow, "Have you tried tryingout different brands? Sometimes a animal will loses its appetite or get sick on the current food. Dogs appetites do change." Layla said writing down everything once more. She went into the back and went into the back and brought out a bowl of dog food that was meant for the animal shelter dogs.

"Try this boy," She said and sat it down on the ground and watched as the dog ate it happily. "Try the bag for a week and come back and you can buy some more from me, they don't have it at the store, its strictly veterinarian dog food. The bag lasts for three months especially for one dog." Once the appointment was done, she closed the animal shelter and got her daughter from school, her hating the sound of having to go the doctors.

"Dr. Whale is a very good doctor, he won't hurt you. You can trust me." Jasmine said as they walked to the hospital. Hearing her phone ring from inside her purse she quickly looked at the phone to see it was Whale's number. Going inside the hospital she did not answer her phone as she saw him standing at the front desk. She went up to him, not sure if he noticed she was standing with her daughter, "Dr. Whale, your calling me?" She asked looking at him.
