[ππππππππ ππππ] Hey, Are you free Friday? Shows been canceled for the weekend, thought I'd take you out for that dinner.
So maybe drinking so much wasnβt the best idea. Correction. Maybe drinking at all wasnβt the best idea. Everyone seemed to have their vices and as of lately it seemed the bottle was Justinβs. Alcohol had cost him a few things over the past year. His marriage vows to remain faithful. Jobs. And for a month any unsupervised visits with his daughter.
One would think with that rap sheet, drinking would be the first thing he would want to avoid but tonight proved anything but that. It was his typical bullsh*t. Get to work way early in the morning. Not leaving until eleven at night. Whoever said SNL was an easy job, had never spent more than a day or two behind the scenes. The idea of going home should have been good enough. But some how it wasnβt. And so he found himself at that same stupid little dive bar as always. One drink soon turned into 7 and before long he was too drunk to even get himself home.
He tried Sarah who hung up in his face. She told him not to bother coming to their house. As if he was in any state to make it out to Montauk. No their apartment in the city is where heβd call home tonight. After Sarah he tried Wells, but his co worker never picked up, which left one last option. Jocelyn. His sister answering and giving him a mouth full before telling him sheβd be there whenever she finished what she was doing.
About 30 minutes later his sister appeared. He was given an ear full in the car, yet too far gone to really understand what she was ranting on and on about. After what felt like ever the two were finally inside of the apartment building. Justinβs feet all but failing him as he forgot to walk. He snapped a bit more awake as Jocelyn let him hit the floor, telling him she was done. He was home and he could handle it from here. Could he? He doubted it. βNo. Wait. Help me. Can you make me grilled cheese?β
He slurred looking at the woman before him, nearly shuddering as how much she really looked like their mother. βPlease. Donβt be mean for once and just help me up and feed me. You owe me.β
