About me:

CC-1010, 'Fox', was a Clone Trooper Officer who served as the Clone Marshal Commander of the Coruscant Guard during the pan-galactic conflict dubbed 'The Clone Wars' during the waning years of the High Republic Era.

While the Grand Army of the Republic deployed across the galaxy under the command of Jedi Generals, Commander Fox and his Clone Shock Troopers were stationed on Coruscant, the capital planet of the Galactic Republic. Like all Clone Troopers under his command, Fox was bound by duty and honor to serve and protect Supreme Chancellor, Sheev Palpatine, as well as members of the Galactic Senate.

Over the course of the war, Fox became one of the most highly decorated soldiers in the Republic Military.

Cloned from the genetic template of the human Bounty Hunter Jango Fett, CC-1010 trained on the Outer Rim world of Kamino as part of an army of identical soldiers created to defend the Galaxy from the Confederacy of Independent Systems/Separatists.

Post the First Battle of Geonosis, Fox was transferred to the Republic Capital where he assumed command of the Coruscant Guard, or Cories/CGs. The Clone Guards supplemented the Senate Guard as a peace-keeping force on Coruscant, as well as a planetary police force to aid the local law enforcement during the duration of the war. His troops also undertook off-world missions by providing security for Jedi Ambassadors and Senatorial Dignitaries.

Fox retained command of the Coruscant Guard even in the aftermath of Clone Protocol/Jedi Purge Order 66 and the rise of the Galactic Empire, though the tenure was short lived after the fall of the Republic...

The Commander was charged with organizing a security perimeter encircling the fallen Temple of the Jedi Order while the newly appointed Sith Lord/Darth Sidious Apprentice, Darth Vader (formally Jedi General/Knight Anakin Skywalker), attempted to capture Jedi Master and Master Librarian Jocasta Nu. Unfortunately, the Corie Guard Commander was severely wounded (presumed executed via use of the Force to snap his neck) by Vader after failing to inform the Shock Troopers of the Sith Lord's description and thus causing them to try to terminate him when mistaking the Sith for a Jedi.

Who I'd like to meet:

Fox was a fearless soldier who led the elite Coruscant Guard Shock Troopers into combat, and was always the first to charge into conflict. As with the rest of the Guard, he possessed a strong sense of duty and honor which compelled him to loyally serve and protect the Republic's highest governing bodyโ€”the Galactic Senate and, more specifically, the Supreme Chancellor. His service was exemplary, leading him to become one of the most highly decorated soldiers in the Grand Army of the Republic.

Like the rest of his Clone brethren, the Commander had little patience for criminals such as the terrorist Letta Turmond. Upon the terrorist's death, Fox stated that he did not personally blame Ahsoka Tano for her suspected involvement, but nonetheless arrested her as a suspect for the murder. He unhesitatingly ordered his Guards to kill Tano, whom he believed responsible for the deaths of several Clones during her escape from prison, but grudgingly complied with Anakin Skywalker's orders to capture the Padawan alive.

Sometime later, when he and his Troops confronted ARC Trooper-27-5555 'Fives' in the Lower Depths of Coruscant, he demanded that the fugitive Clone surrender to them. Ultimately, Fox was forced to open fire on Fives after he raised a blaster at him.

Fox was loyal to the Republic's successor, the Galactic Empire, and continued to lead the Coruscant Guard in the name of the self-proclaimed Emperor and former Supreme Chancellor, Palpatine. He was complicit in the execution of Order 66, as all Clones were, which he saw as his duty to carry out. He believed the Jedi Order responsible for instigating a rebellion on the Capital, viewing them as 'agitators' and enemies of the State. Though he intended no harm to Darth Vader, he failed to warn his Guards against mistaking the Sith Lord for a Jedi. This oversight on Fox's part nearly cost the Commander his life and forever crippled him.

At his solemn words, he gives pause, a saddened smile curling his lips. He hadn't expected Fox's contentious retort that suggested he cared less for those outside of Rex, but he suspects time has worked its way into his conscious, having forgotten the mild tension that brewed between the two when they still danced among the living. Expelling a deep sigh, he shifts his gaze to focus on him, that smile in tact despite presumably causing additional strain to an already tense exchange.

"I would never claim that Rex is more deserving of happiness than his brothers. It was simply an admission of wonder, as I still can't believe he is working alongside my son for a brighter future. I hope that the network he's built in search of his fellow men can grow now that the Empire is no longer breathing down his neck. That way, what few are left can spend their days as they should - in peace."

Since becoming one with the Force, his expanded role of potentially assisting those in need of counsel was not expected to be extended to anyone outside of Jedi, where consciousness was meant to join with the Force upon death, but the very image of his Force projection conversing with Fox's transparent form was curious enough, and since he seemed visibly troubled, Anakin could not help but press for answers, if for nothing more than to offer him guidance in his apparent time of need.

"But, you are not with me to talk of Rex, of our own disagreements and fates while living. There is more to this. You shouldn't be here. You should be at peace. Why are you here? Are you alone?"

"That fact forever remains, Commander Fox."

He states without hesitation, having long since come to terms with that difficult truth; for all his rebellion against the idea of fate and destiny while growing in age, in the end, it had all been for naught. His own miraculous birth by the hand of the Force itself was an omen to come for which the galaxy would pay a steep price - between the complacent, rapidly growing ranks of the Jedi and the ruthless Sith's unwelcome plunge into the depths of the Force for inhumane reasons, tragedy for the rest of the populace was all but expected while the Force balanced its delicate scales.

He would never admit how long he had mourned the pain of his destiny upon becoming one with the Force, but while he has accepted it after much consolation from his dear Master, conversations with one of the Sith's favorite tools to enact their ultimate plan of death and destruction draw from him those feelings of despair, and Fox's innocent confession was no exception.

"It's not fair, I know." Lifting his hands to eye level, cobalt hues gaze through transparent limbs as he carefully considers his words, the impossibility of men he once fought alongside understanding the true inner-workings of their universe that offered them a terrible fate daunting.

"I have no consolation for you, Commander. The Force is a cruel father that cares only for balance. The Jedi should have done more to prevent... me from coming to fruition. All the galaxy can do now is rebuild, and honor those we have lost. You, your brothers.. will never be forgotten. My son will make certain of that. I wish you could see him and Rex planning their next battle strategy..."

At this, he smiles, gaze appearing more distant, but very much at peace.

"โ€ฆ Rex is happy. He deserves that."

"That is not yours and your brothers' legacies, Commander."

Deferring to wisdom retained over the long years of his difficult life, he offers the man a brief respite from terrors that haunted his broken soul, summoning the Force to ease his mind as Anakin explains himself, the very least he could do.

"What of your brothers that escaped? The ones that managed to free themselves from mind control to serve a greater purpose: one of their own making." Naturally, his mind drifts to his noble Captain, whose path had blessedly crossed his own at the end, when it truly mattered. He will never forget the emotion that washed over him upon seeing Rex celebrate victory with his beloved children, nor the surreal moment where he was allowed the privilege to thank his wonderful friend for being there for those he loved, even if the man could not see his transparent form, nor hear words spoken from a distance unreachable by those not Force-sensitive. That light did not only radiate from Rex, but others as well, some choosing separation, others fighting back against a ruthless Empire he unwittingly fell in league with. Those that escaped were their living legacy, and if nothing else, Anakin hoped that was of some comfort to those who weren't so lucky - Fox included.

"They made sure the legacy of you and your brothers was not in blood. They're telling your story now. I hope that gives you some semblance of peace."

A difference? The asinine comment instantly provokes rage that is inappropriate for the moment, but expected when sharing space with another that has caused him considerable grief in the short time they have known each other. Nevertheless, he tempers that anger by releasing it into the Force, the loaded question an adequate distraction to his otherwise volatile tendencies. It gives him pause, allowing him to reflect on 'what-ifs', on what could have been.

"Of course it would have!" He snaps, but the heat of his words is less severe than his intial outburst. "I would have kept him safe. I would have-..."

Not even his stubborn nature would allow him to finish that sentence; it would tarnish the memory of all that was sacrificed in the name of one man's greedy pursuit of ultimate power, and with consideration to the hand he played in that devastation, his opinion was best kept to himself. Privately, he replays alternate scenarios in his head, of how he could have protected Fives from the cold clutches of the Palpatine, how if he had listened and not been naive; the false security showered upon him when expressing difficulties in accepting Fives' questionable death by the Chancellor himself had effectively silenced the need to pursue the case, but the guilt lingered.

It would gnaw at him for the rest of his miserable existence.

"... we were all played. There's plenty of blame to go around, but not to you.. and your brothers. The Jedi should have kept you safe. We failed you all."

Every fiber in his being burns with a feverish desire to cut Fox down once again, but as the former Commander of the now-defunct Coruscant guard pleads his case, Anakin's resolve wavers, his rage tempered by the man's desperate but honest explanation of events for which he, too, suffered greatly from. A pause is given before he addresses the slew of thoughts openly expressed, a wave of melancholy consuming him.

"You could have just.. stunned him, Fox! If you did, maybe..."

To continue with that sentence would make mockery of all that was lost in the game of chess they were all unwitting pawns in. With this in mind, he sighs deeply, choosing his words carefully.

"... you deserved better. You all did."
