About me:

The World has become one big haunted house in many ways, every city has them but in my small town of Jewel Illnois is one of the worse because we were so close to 'Ground Zero' when the event happened.

Ok let me take you back a bit, when I was a kid there was some kind of melt down or whatever in a science lab and that caused an explotion that left buildings standing but those who were unlucky enough to be in the radious of the blast? Well that didn't work out for them.

The place this happened in is called Ground Zero and basically our town like most places in the world now is haunted with what we call Rems because they show up and basically live a day or so of their lives and after the loop is up they are gone only to show up the next day doing the exact same thing.

Sometimes I just wish that we could go back...back to a time where life was simple and those who used to pretend you didn't exist in school actually exsisted themselves and back to a time where every house didn't have a panic room but sadly that's not possible so life goes on.

Lately new Rems have been showing up and no one can tell me the reason for that, but one day when I was taking a shower one of them showed up in my bathroom and wrote the word 'Run' on the mirror and at the time I thought he wanted to hurt me so I recruited Kirk to help me because he knew a lot about this too.

When I followed him he showed me a tunnle where all of the sudden what seemed like 20 or more Rems of fish swimming in an unseen lake showed up and went by us and this amazed me because I had never seen anything like it before.

Any way long story short he helped me get some things that would help me see the Rem again and by that time some how I knew it's name was Brian.

I thought Brian wanted to hurt me and that he was a killer but as time went on Kirk and I found out more and more about the real secrets of the past and we also learned that the three basic rules of Rems were all lies...rule one they can not harm us,rule two they can not effect things around them and three they are in a loop that can not change no matter what...god we were fools to trust that.

Any way I ended up trusting the wrong person after Kirk and I had a small fight about a gun found in his locker and that trust almost got me killed but Brian and the others that the person killed came to my rescue and pulled the person down to the deps of the frozen lake we fell into and Brian helped me get to the surface and then was gone.

In that moment I saw my father who also died in the event that day and he told me to let him go and so I did expecting to die too but Kirk saved me at the last moment and now that we both know the rules are lies and that Rems are more than they seem we both share the secret but perhaps one day we will tell the world...who knows,I do know this though Kirk is my boyfriend and I love him.

That's my story so welcome to my world where every day is like living in a huanted house and 'Rems' are everywhere in the world. Always remember that is a world where the dead walk among the living, nothing is ever as it seems.

Jordan nodded and blushed a little bit. "I never knew I was good at football until we moved here. I never had an interest in it before. It was always my twin brother's thing. Though it is nice to do something with him. Though I feel bad that the coach hardly plays him, and Jon is good at playing quarterback." He said as he frowned a little bit for a moment. He hated that his brother rarely got played and he was in the spotlight more since they moved to Smallville. "Ok, so there's good Rems and bad Rems? Got it. Pretty much like everything else, there's a good and a bad. Is there a way to tell the difference, tell which ones are good and which ones are bad?" He was curious as to what these Rems were. He wasn't sure if they could hurt him since he was half alien and had powers, though his abilities might be able to help her catch them. He just had to figure out how to do it without exposing his family secret.Β

"I'll ask my mom about it. She keeps all her stories in a file on her computer. I can just kind of tell her it's for an assignment at school. She wouldn't mind, I'm sure. Just have to show interest in her journalism and she'll be impressed that I took an interest." He said as he was beyond curious about this event she was telling him about. He was too young to remember any of it, but he was sure that something like this his parents would have heard about. He could believe it, before he found out his father was Superman, that would be a different story. But since he found out about his dad, Jordan can believe anything is possible.Β

Jordan frowned when she said that her father died in the event. "I'm so sorry. I'm not sure I could handle watching my mom or dad go through it every day. It's not morbid, at least not to me. It was a way for you to see and keep your dad around. Different people do things differently. I may be saying now that I couldn't handle it, but if it happened to one of my parents, I might have a different view on the matter. Ya know? It's just like, you have to go through it before you know how you'd react to it."Β

"My Grandma was a beloved woman. She was smart, funny, caring. Just all-around amazing. She raised my dad pretty much alone. Grandpa died when Dad was about 13, I think. From the stories I heard about him, he was pretty amazing too. The town here loved my Grandma. They even dedicated a park bench in town in front of the Smallville Gazette to her. My dad was so surprised and he loved it. He just wished we came to visit more often before she died." He said as he shook his head, trying to maintain his composure. "Grandma loved everyone. She would help anyone in need. Give her last dollar for a stranger or fellow citizen to get a hamburger."Β

Jordan laughed nervously when she told him to relax and that she had a boyfriend. "Great, a new friend. I've never had any of those. So now I have 3 if you count my brother." He said with another laugh. "Oh, so she was like residual energy? I think that is what those ghost-hunting tv shows called it when a ghost or energy is caught in a loop. I hope she finds the peace that she is looking for." He said as he wasn't sure what all this stuff was, though he was willing to learn. Β "I can show you around. Smallville is pretty small, so there isn't a whole lot to do. You can go to Victoria Mae's after school. They have amazing chili cheese fries and milkshakes. What do you say?"

Jordan blushed a little bit when she said that the team wouldn't be where they are without him and it was a team effort. " I had to beg my dad to let me play. He was worried that I'd get hurt because I'm so much smaller than everyone else. Thankfully my brother talked dad into it. The only condition that he had was that he got to be the assistant coach." He said as he shrugged his shoulders. "Oh, so boogity boogities. I am not scared of ghosts. They can't hurt me. At least I don't think they can. Can they? I mean... I know that the movies make them more spooky than they are." He said as he wasn't sure if spirits or REMs were dangerous. Then again, it wouldn't matter if they were since he was half alien and had fast healing.

He listened to her and nodded. "No wonder I don't remember. I don't remember much from when I was a little kid. I'll have to ask my parents if they remember it. I'm sure that they had heard about it, wouldn't be surprised if they didn't write any stories about it in the newspaper. I'll just tell them it's for a school project." He said as he didn't want her to think he was going to rat her out for hunting these Rems. "I feel for those people that died. It... it had to be hard for their loved ones to deal with their deaths. Do they know they're dead or do some still think that they're alive?" He wanted to learn as much as possible from her about these Rems, he was interested in them. "Some of the paranormal shows that I have watched have talked about it taking a lot of energy for spirits to move things or even scratch people to let them know that they are there."Β

Jordan sighed, "My dad grew up here. My grandma was like the heart of Smallville. At least that's what the people of this town have told me. It's like the older people who knew her, once they find out that I and my brother are Martha Kent's grandsons they suddenly want to get to know us. And they all know my dad too. The Kent family is well respected here. Just wish some of the kids here knew that and left me alone." He shrugged his shoulders again, he hated being bullied, but there wasn't much he could do about it without using his powers and then having a lot of explaining to do.Β

His eyes widened and his jaw dropped when she asked him if he was asking her out. "Uhh... N-no. I mean... not that there is anything wrong with you. It's... it's just that I'm not ready for that, I'm only fourteen." He was relieved when she said that she was kidding. "Oh... ok." He laughed nervously. "I need friends too. The only ones I have are my brother, Sarah, and sadly my mom." He said with another slight laugh. "Metas are just humans that get powers. Usually, by experiments or a natural disaster like a meteor shower or something, I overheard my parents and grandpa talking about it. I don't understand it much either. When I asked, I get told it was classified. My grandfather is the head of DOD, so he can't talk too much about some things." Β He looked down to the ground as they walked back to the school. "So do these Rems always run from people?"Β

Jordan smiled sheepishly and his cheeks turned a little pink when she said that she had seen him around and that he was the star player of the team or so it seemed in the games. "Yeah, but it's a team effort. Put me in any other position, and I would suck. Jonathan, my twin brother, he's much better at football than me. I'm just really good at defense." He said as he shifted from one foot to the other. He laughed a little bit when she said him calling what she was chasing a blur was an interesting way of putting it. "So you're chasing.. basically ghosts?" He asked as he was truly interested in what she was saying. He glanced back to the school then to her. "Ehh, let them get mad. It's not like anything is going on right now. There's no practice for me today since the coach went home sick and well my dad isn't exactly ready to coach practice by himself. I'm just ready to go home, my video games are calling me." He said as he wanted to learn more about what these Rems were but at the same time, he wanted to get to his room and continue the game he started the night before.Β

He smiled again when they shook hands. "Sure why not help? Nothing exciting happens here in Smallville." He lied, but he couldn't tell her the truth. Jordan was sure that she would eventually find out all the weird stuff going on there in due time. "I am always interested in helping people. And never know I might see one better than a blur. I want to know more about these Rems. What are they? Are they spirits?" He started to ask then stopped himself, he didn't want to overwhelm her with a bunch of questions. "Got to look out for a fellow new kid. My family hasn't been here that long, maybe a few months. We only moved here because my dad couldn't let the family farm be sold after Grandma died. So far it's pretty good, though Jonathan isn't exactly liking it. He lost everything when we moved here. Jon is great though, he has my back. I don't make friends that easily and it makes me an easy target. Having social anxiety disorder hinders me a lot, and I tend to have panic attacks." He mumbled as they walked back towards the school, he wasn't even sure if she heard the last part about being picked on.Β

Jordan nodded as she asked him about not knowing anything about Rems. "I haven't heard anything about them. I mean if they're ghosts, I believe in those but I haven't seen one in person. Well until today." He said then shook his head. "Oh, I'm not from here, Smallville. I was born in Metropolis and lived there up until a few months ago. Though Metropolis isn't that far from Smallville, just a few hours drive. When I was four, I was having major tantrums and violent outbursts. Doctors didn't know what was wrong until last year when I was thirteen. Things got better once we understood what was wrong with me." He said a bit embarrassed. "I guess Smallville has its weird stuff that goes on once in a while. I don't know much about it, just something about metahumans, whatever those are." He lied again, but was also telling the truth, he didn't exactly know what a metahuman was. He had never heard that word until just recently. Jordan glanced over at her as they got closer to the school. "You want to go to the diner after school? We can get some milkshakes and you can tell me more about these Rems."Β

Jordan was a bit relieved when most of the school started to finally accept him and Jonathan. They were both on the football team, their dad was the assistant coach and they weren't getting knocked around by the football team for a mistake that Jordan made at the bonfire a few weeks ago. He did notice the new girl, they had a few classes together but he hadn't introduced himself to her. His social anxiety disorder prevented him from being able to make friends easily. Even though he had begun to get better control over it and not have as many panic attacks.Β

As he was waiting by the bleachers when he saw the new girl start to walk like she was following something. Jordan thought he saw something ahead of her, but he couldn't make it out. It could just be his eyes playing tricks on him, it was like a blur. He just shook it off as maybe a new power starting to manifest in him. He hoped it wasn't, he needed a break from new powers. The last two hurt more than he cared for. Jordan decided to follow her, what could go wrong? Β It might be nothing, then again she might need help and he would feel horrible if something happened to someone and he could have helped them by simply following them.Β

Jordan finally caught up to her and smiled slightly when she turned around. "You're uh... Ronnie right? I'm Jordan. We have math... and history together. Do you make it a habit to chase blurs or whatever that was?" He asked as he was sure that he probably sounded like an idiot. He slid his hands into the front pockets of his black hoodie and began to shift nervously from one foot to the other. He wasn't sure how she was going to react to him. Jordan glanced around the area to see if he could see anything, as he expected there was nothing around them. "I can... I can help you with whatever it is you're looking for."
