How I was concieved from what my father told me was in the spirit realm. He used to tell me tales of how the spirits would come to the human world and try to make peace. There were certain Yaoguai that wanted to live along side man. My father was a yaoguai spirit, a wolf, he served as guard to the makeshift empire. He often told me these stories to preserve them to keep them from dying out. It was a fantastical tale. I never forgot the stories but never once did I believe in them. Not until after the chernobyl disaster.
anyway, how my parents met was pretty much like this. We lived in a empire hidden from humanity within the outskirts of China near Russia. My father worked for the empire as a the head of the guard. he had an entire army of yaoguai, monstrous wolves at his command. The royal family were jiangshi, reanimated corpses or vampires. The princess was my fathers love interest and the emperor approved of their relationship, to strengthen the empires lineage. To mix blood with a wolf was seen as a good thing to them. together they proved to be resiliant to any attack and could fend off enemies faster. Well, my mother and father did in fact mate and had me that fall and then later on my brother in winter. Then the humans came.
They saw all the gold, all the silver we had everywhere on display as statues of great powerful entities, every precious stone and stole it all. the emperor bled many dry as did the queen but once he was brought down by an army, the empire they built in the human world fell into chaos. Our home destroyed and once the land was bled dry of all of its glory and raped for gold the humans began to kill each corpse and each wolf as they attacked.
My mother and father along with a few of the guard fled with their two boys never to return again. They crossed the barrier into the human world and made a living in Russia where they ended up. I never knew the home I once had, and had played in was even a real place. i often thought i dreamt it. Father kept it alive in my head for years until i reached seventeen, I often dreamt about it wondering if it was real. I always felt something was missing in my life. My mother never spoke about it again and never once mentioned anything about vampires and wolves even though i knew and my brother knew what we were. Mother wanted us to be as human as possible to survive. it never really worked out the way she wanted. She became even more distant, wanting a human life and my parents often fought. It was a strange world to be in, everything was different from home. Home to me was dark and mysterious. Something beautiful, this place was too bright and humans weren't very nice. Especially in Russia. We moved around from China to Russia then onto Ukraine for safety reasons. The clothing was boring and nothing looked right, it just looked so bland to me. no color in the human world no vibrant smiles to light up a room, no blood or meat to keep me sustained. It was highly frowned upon to drink blood here and to hunt and kill humans. that i learned rather quickly in ancient times when I hunted a man down and ate him. That was when I decided to learn to be human and to look as human as possible. Enough to pass as one so I wouldn't get caught and killed by certain people for what I am. Back to the present day. the year was 1980 something.
the reason why my father moved us to Ukraine was to take this job, it was because of me. I had anger issues due to moving so much and would often show my strength to bullies. called into the principals office often and just all around bad boy. As punishment my father made us move and my mother forbade me to ever show face in front of a human again or we would all be killed. I obeyed until i met the love of my life, Bao Shi. he came from the same protected forest we called home.
His real name was Bai Wu and he was also a royal guard for the kingdom, of there were many. My father caught us one night in bed but he did nor said nothing. once wolves form bonds there is no destroying it. that would cause riffs in the family, so Bai Wu was accepted as my bonded mate. My father had a secret all his own, he had a bonded mate as well. Lang Ya, one of the wolves who protected the outside of our hidden little world. He was the one who put up protection talismens everywhere as he was not born wolf but turned by my father. He was a Taoist and so stuck with his belief and would not ever cross the boundary between his world and ours in the spirit realm. He stayed wolf in the human world and thus the stories of giant monster lurking in the forests of China were of him. It wasn't until we were forced out that Lang Ya turned human for the first time, and I realized why dad liked him. They were bonded mates and you could tell that Lang Ya was upset about his current marriage to my mother. Bai Wu however was around my age when I was born at this time I was about seventeen and he was ten years older than me at 27 years old.
my mother however knew this and she had other ideas, she wanted us to split and one night she attacked him full force in our home, for how dare a guard bond with the prince. I was to bond with a human -shakes head- my mother wanted me to bond with something that destroyed everything they lost. i never understood her i never had a good relationshiop with my mother. she was so cold, so distant from me. she even had my brother get adopted by humans so he wouldnt know what he was, she sold him off for a gold coin. What a wonderful mother she was to us. often ignored me and would only talk if i even mentioned Bai Wu she would scold me and tell me the wolf was a bastard child of Dalkan the yaoguai soldier who betrayed the empire. that Bai Wu was indeed from a traitorous family. She would often try to break us up to keep me from making a huge mistake like my father.
I made that mistake often until that fateful day when things went so bad. Chernobyl had Russian scientists underground, they weren't just scientists but they were from the same team that destroyed the protected part of the human world we lived in. They had tracked our family to that spot and triggered the blast to get at us.
I remember the day the reactor blew, the sirens went off...people were hurt. I was hurt, Bai Wu was severely injured and could not walk. He had turned wolf the moment the blast struck the building we were in. I remember his shrieks of pain and the fact that half his body was gone. We were close to the blast. I remember the others picked him up and we ran into the woods. Never to come back to the city again. Until the scientists spotted us running with an injured wolf who could talk.
Sad to say it was Bai Wu who got us caught, although in his defense he was blown up and his back legs were gone. I would scream too. I remember I tried to calm him because we all could hear the footsteps and the clicks of the guns as they came near. The others turned wolf and fought as best they could. I stayed with Bai Wu. I couldn't let him go and I wouldn't. He looked so scared, so f***ing terrified as he looked into my eyes. He whispered for me to run, I wouldn't dare move. He bit me, I held him. He snarled and growled trying to get me to leave him so I wouldn't get caught. F***...I couldn't move. It was than that we heard the bang of a gun and all I remember is hitting the ground beside Bai Wu. Who was frantically trying to stand but only dragging himself as he tried to pull me away. Then it all went black.
Alyosha's son the youngest boy about five was dying due to being close to his father, once he came home after crossing back to the human world. It isn't the spirit realm its apart of earth that we closed off. The spirit realm is where we are from originally but we all rose from the dead all of us. We were not all human but some of us were and resurrected right where we lived. Alyosha has since vowed to destroy all things that came out of it as its tainted by death and flooded with so called monsters and bad spiritual energy, it wasn't before he came. Bai Wu, his pack wasn't directly from the realm they were made by him. human made wolf so not natural yaoguai. So they all died, and Bai Wu was of no use to Alyosha he held no power so they killed him. But i do, and i showed that power often whenever he did the experiments, none of them worked on me and each failed except one. The immortality gene, I had it and he wanted it worse then anyone. to keep his son and himself alive. Immortality meaning that I was already dead a walking corpse and a monster in one.
When I woke up, I was in darkness. In wolf form I attacked all four walls until i was bloody. My jaw had broken as I tried to escape. I felt nothing, i was so angry. I screamed out Bai Wu name but all I received back was a loud yelp and a stomach churning sound I will never forget. The sound of bones breaking. I howled, trying to get in contact with any of my pack. None would answer, instead all I got back was an eerie silence.
I don't know how long I was in the darkness for, but the next thing I remember is being able to go outside for a brief moment, it was good to stretch my legs. I had stayed in wolf form for a good ten twenty years locked in darkness. I was feral and violent with all who worked with me. The experiments were horrible, they tried to provoke me to turn human. because by now after killing all my pack brothers and sisters they knew what we were. I refused and I always attacked so I could go back into the dark glass cell. It was my safe haven, none could hurt me in there.
A few more months and I was let outside again as they cleaned my cell and put fresh water and food in there. They were keeping me alive, the guy who ran the place wanted my dna since i was the only one alive. He wanted me to mate with some woman so he could take her fetus and manipulate it to his liking. He was a sick f***.
I stayed as the wolf so I wouldn't have to mate with her, besides that I am gay so no sexual attraction there. He tried everything to get to me to mate with her even going so far as to bribe me with better acommodations. He apparently had to have that unborn baby's dna. He was a creep.
Not even a year later in 2017 and I was let outside again this time with muzzle and leash. Being brought over to a man who smelled odd, like he didn't belong on earth. I hated him right off the bat, I figured he was another scientist or big shot like Alyosha the owner of the lab was.
I was then put into a car and flown out to god knows where. America I guess because no one spoke my language. I stayed in wolf form even as my new master tried to tame me. I didn't work at first, I attacked him often and wasn't nice to any one there. I was never allowed inside the castle. I didn't want to be inside. I finally let him near me and realized he wasn't going to hurt me. After a few hours roaming the forests I fell in love with the place. It was heaven on earth. I asked to have my own cabin and to my astonishment he obliged.
I dont hate my master, I now think of him as a freind. I could never stay though. It wasn't my home, though it was like it. It was hidden on earth and everything too. I think thats why I stayed there for so long. It felt like home even though it wasn't. There was a familiarity there he was a demon so it fit so beautifully. I loved him as a friend and though he was my master I never did right by him. I never did as he asked, not really. I did my own thing and left his protected area when I shouldn't have. Got caught many times with other guys outside of the castle and things weren't looking good for me staying there. So I left. I don't belong there, I belong where the dead walk, were the monsters roam freely and where the blood is plentiful and keeps me well fed. I belong in darkness where the darkest of demons reign. I can travel through the spirit realm and to other timelines at will.
