Morgan used to be a German monk in the 14th century, and was a good one at that. However, one day he met and fell in love with a young woman named Katrina. He tried to fight it but eventually gave in, and that way he broke his vows. Morgan and Katrina spend time in secret, as he always went on the road that could have led him to find a cure to the black plague, that was going on at the time but he changed his path, so he never got to do that. However, one day she got sick with the black plague as he stupidly made a deal with the devil, as he got 10 years with him, but then she died as he berried her and born anything to do with god, as he lost his faith. That was when the devil offered him to be his very first collector, instead of taking his soul and Morgan accepted, as he renounced god, as they say.
The devil put a demon in him or something like that, as he traveled around a lot, as he took souls that the devil asked him to. There were times when he considered helping but he knew he couldn't, except when he saw what some people do to others he gave up on humanity completely. Morgan stopped caring and did his job with no complains, not much anyway. Things when he met a young woman on the streets, named Maya, who was drug addict, among other things as she reminded him, which Changed him, and therefore he asked to try to find salvation for his clients, and the devil agreed. Also he always made it impossible for Morgan, but he got used to it, and stopped complaining. However he couldn't save his client but his client saved the young woman, as she used to have aides and was about to die, but not anymore.
Morgan helped Maya get a place, right in the same place he lived at, just different apartment as he came to visit her whenever he could. Yet he did his best to keep his secret from her. Morgan picked the curiosity of a reporter who wanted to know everything about him, not knowing that her autistic son is connected to him.
