Biography
DISCLAIMER: This is coming from the eyes of the player, who has similar issues to what Leon struggles with. I live with a physical disability, and the character is meant to be in relation to some of my own struggles. Please note that my state of mind is NOT Leon's, but some parts in his bio I have lived through at some point or another. It is my hope that playing this character with others may open my eyes to some new possibilities in RP, and perhaps present new interesting scenario's/stories for someone who isn't used to this kind of character. Please don't hesitate to ask questions, etc if you wish. :)
LEON'S STORY
Leon Dresden was born with a very mild case of cerebral palsy (A congenital disorder of movement, muscle tone, or posture).
Through his life, his parents have been supportive of him. He had a general family that supported him. Helped him succeed. He did well in his classes through pre-college; even more so than those who were not disabled. Overall, despite his disability--which was but a hindrance to his daily life--he was a normal young man. Without his crutches, sitting down, or even playing a game--he still had those same reactions, same emotions, as one would naturally.
But underneath his outward success, his loving family, a few friends--he suffered from a myriad of feelings--most caused him anxiety and depression when alone. Rarely he spoke of them--he was always the one trying to cheer others up--the one who helped others with their problems. He was quiet, observant, so he learned a bit more about life he felt he couldn't experience, through other's.
There was one day when he was much younger that he met a young girl on the playground--his age at the time. He didn't often play at recess, mostly sat on the sidelines and drew in a notebook. She was crying. Leon asked, "Why are you crying?" The young girl responded, "The other girls won't let me play with them" with a tear-soaked face. Leon felt sad for the girl--and despite his shyness, he said, "I'll play with you" Leon smiled.
Through out the years--this young girl he had befriended, he was always very close to. He asked if they were boy friend and girl friend--something that Leon felt he would never have because of his disability. She had said yes--and through the years until middle school, they were near inseparable. They called daily--said to each other "I love you".
Eventually the time came, where the girl had given him a bracelet--a special gift, that said 'love you'--and Leon asked to have a first kiss. The now middle-school aged girl seemed hesitant, and just pecked him on the lips once. Leon seemed... distraught, having seen other kids just kissing in the hallways at school with their 'sweethearts'. While this could be considered 'puppy love', through all the years they were considered 'a thing', the girl said--and showed-- she loved him... but apparently not as much as he thought. Leon was quiet about it--afraid to ask why.
The time finally came in Highschool when he was to ask someone to the prom. He was going to ask the girl, but she was going with someone else already. It appeared they had been together a few months--and Leon had never even heard a thing. He questioned her on the other young man, and she explained she'd been seeing him for some time and she is happy to be his girlfriend--as if nothing they had, ever mattered.
Leon just forced a smile, nodded his head. "I'm really happy for you. " After that, they never spoke once.
Ever since, he'd stay quiet on his depression. His parents--his friends--no one knew. In a way, Leon felt it was meant to happen--because he felt a bit different eventually on love. He was bitter, angry... and eventually found he had a strong attraction to the same gender. This opened up a whole new set of issues for the now eighteen year old Leon. Being gay, and disabled... he almost felt invisible, and terrified to come out to anyone with the stigmas he carried.
What if he were to tell his parents--his friends? Would they take him seriously? Would they still support him if he were to try pursuing another man? This drove him to become upset... but he forced himself to stay happy--try to live life happy, through heartbreak, and desperation to find happiness while living just as everyone else does, searching for love.
LIMITATIONS/NOTABLES OF LEON
Leon generally looks, acts, and has the same feelings as an average young man for his age. But, his hindrances impact his daily life often. Without his crutches or wheelchair, he must use enclosed spaces to his advantage by stumbling and or holding on to what he can to get where he needs to go--normally his home is rather enclosed, so he often uses that method to get around.
Publicly, he will often use crutches, or a wheelchair, depending on what he's feeling that day, or if it's a standing/sitting event. If he stands for a longer period, he gets a bit achey in his legs, which he'll often try to find someplace to sit or request a seated place.
While standing, he has a notable slouch and cannot stand to full height. He would be about 4'9" in his slouch, 5'1" standing straight (which he can sometimes force himself to for brief moments, but is painful).
Getting fully dressed for the day sometimes is a task that can take him much longer than the average person. Getting in and out of the shower sometimes can be difficult, but manages on his own.
His speech (sometimes in cases of CP, someone can have speech impediments, or struggle to have coherent speech) has no notable differences, besides a minor stutter here and there--think Bill from the 2018 "It" movie (some might find it cute, much to his dismay).
He still has sexual desires and feels those pleasures (and can masturbate to sate these). He can also very much, still have intercourse--and wants it, just like a natural guy might. (However, I have not RPed him in these situations... so I may need to learn how this might go with him specifically. Bear with me!)

I don't care if you feel it may be offensive, hurtful, etc. Unless you are trying to be that way, most likely I really won't care and I will understand! I'm very laid back, and always open about answering things regarding this disability. An RP with this character should be not just an RP, but also a learning experience for both me and you, as my potential partner. :)
