personality& traits
As the queen regnant of the kingdom of Arendelle, Elsa appears calm, reserved, regal and - unlike her sister - graceful and poised. Beneath this cool and collected appearance, however, Elsa is quite turbulent; in truth, the Snow Queen was, for a majority of her young life, troubled by her abilities, a feeling which stems from a traumatic incident as a child. When she was younger, she had cared strongly for Anna and, despite being the more mature and cautious of the two sisters, Elsa was still quite playful and used her magic to have fun and goof off.
However, after witnessing her magic cause her sister harm, Elsa lived in fear and trauma for a great amount of her life as she became too terrified to let her powers overdevelop. She consequently chose isolation from everyone she cared for, including Anna, out of the presumption that her isolation would protect them from her power. This would eventually result in years of loneliness, misery, bitterness, and grief. Regret would gradually take its toll on her as well when tragedies struck throughout her life from the accident with her sister to the death of her parents, leaving them both to mourn and grieve alone.
Elsa's damaging experience through the crucial stages from childhood to adulthood caused her personality to shift. She became reclusive, insecure, emotionally unstable, anxious, and depressed. For Elsa, her powers and nature grew more restrained as the years passed, slowly molding her into the cold-hearted queen others saw her to be. When given the chance to rest and relent, however, Elsa's true warm, kind, fun loving, and innocently mischievous personality came about - but only briefly, and with restriction, as seen on the night of her coronation.

Comments: The Darkling was a mystery to Elsa when they first met, a man who knew how to use the powers he had while Elsa feared her own. He opened her up to a world she didnโt know existed, and a strength within her that she didnโt know was there.
mainconnections
Anna - Unlike her older sister Elsa, Anna is optimistic, energetic, awkward, and generally far from elegant. She is also free-spirited, and garnered an extrovert mentality after years of living within the confines of the castle gates and without her sister's company. As a result, she is quick to make friends, and craves affection and companionship, though this can also act as her greatest flaw, as she can sometimes be too trusting towards strangers - an issue brought to attention with the introduction of the malevolent Prince Hans.
However, while gregarious, Anna's most valued asset and the true object of her affection is her relationship with her sister. Since childhood, Anna has been attached to Elsa and greatly admired her abilities, to which she saw as unique. Throughout most of the film, Anna is also the only individual to express faith that Elsa was not a monster. This is in contrast to the Duke of Weselton, Kristoff, as well as the entirety of Arendelle's populace, who were all notably skeptical towards Elsa's benevolence, and feared at what she was capable of. Against all these odds, however, Anna remained hopeful, and fiercely assured that Elsa's true nature was gentle and caring; so much so, that she willingly threw herself into the dangerous terrains of the mountains to retrieve her sister from exile, only armed with the belief that the strength of their bond would be enough to motivate Elsa to return, which is example of Anna's powerful sense of hope and optimism. Anna relies on these traits to carry her through her hardships, and though she still faces overwhelming struggle, her buoyant mentality ultimately led to the restoration of both her kingdom's welfare, as well as the relationship with her sister.
Kristoff was orphaned at a young age and placed in an orphanage thereafter. He was nevertheless too adventurous and free-spirited to be contained in such a facility; he spent a majority of his time sneaking out and exploring the wilderness around him. With a fascination of ice, Kristoff also occupied his time by tagging behind Arendelle's team of ice harvesters to observe their ethics in hopes of garnering their skill and eventually becoming an ice harvester, himself.
Olaf the snowman likes warm hugs. Sprung from Elsa's magical powers, Olaf is by far the friendliest snowman to walk the mountains above Arendelle. His innocence, outgoing personality, and uncanny ability to disassemble himself at good and not-so-good times lead to some awkward, albeit laughable moments. He may also have the world's most impossible dream, but what he doesn't know won't melt himโor will it?
Sven is Kristoff's loyal friend, sleigh-puller, and conscience. He makes sure his mountain-man companion is the stand-up guy Sven knows and loves, and does so without saying a word. A few emphatic snorts usually get his point across. Life would be perfect if only Kristoff would lose that ridiculous reindeer voice he likes to use when speaking for Sven (as if reindeer really talk that way).
"Let it go, let it go, can't hold it back anymore.."
Beginnings
Elsa was born on the winter solstice to King Agnarr and Queen Iduna of Arendelle. She weighed seven pounds, and was born during the occurrence of the aurora borealis. Her birth was also accompanied by an unanticipated weather event which blanketed the village with crystals of ice. When Elsa was three years old, Anna was born, and the two grew to be the best of friends. Eventually, Elsa discovered that she had the ability to produce ice and snow and used her powers to enhance her play with Anna.
One night, eight-year-old Elsa found herself being shook awake by Anna, who could not sleep due to the activity of the northern lights and wanted to play. Though Elsa initially insisted they sleep, she excitedly got up when Anna suggested building a snowman. The two stealthily set out for the spacious Great Hall, where Elsa used her magic to cover the room with ice and snow, much to Anna's delight. The sisters immediately tasked themselves with what they set out to do by building a snowman, whom Elsa named Olaf. The two continued to play, skating around the Great Hall and even sliding down a snowy hill.
However, their innocent night-time excursion took a deadly turn. Anna began to leap from one snowy heap to another, encouraging her sister Elsa to use her magic to take her to greater heights. But as Anna jumped faster and faster, and higher and higher, Elsa found herself struggling to keep pace. When she slipped on the icy floor while Anna was in mid-leap, Elsa desperately fired a bolt of ice magic in an attempt to cushion Anna's fall; in Elsa's haste, the beam was poorly aimed and struck Anna in the face, sending her tumbling into a snowy mound and then to the floor, unconscious. Worrying for Anna's safety, Elsa cried for her parents while her escalating fear caused her powers to act uncontrollably, covering the walls of the Great Hall with ice and toppling the snowman the sisters had built.
After briefly struggling to open the frozen doors, Agnarr and Iduna burst in. While Agnarr remarked that Elsa's powers were getting out of control, Iduna checked on Anna, concerned that she was "ice-cold". Agnarr went to the library and found a book containing an image of a troll using healing magic along with a map to the Valley of the Living Rock. Without further ado, the family departed for the valley on horseback; Elsa's fear resulted in the formation of a trail of ice behind the horse she was riding.
Upon arriving arriving at the valley, Agnarr called out a plea for help. The trolls responded by rolling out into the open to greet the unexpected visitors and were surprised upon realizing it was the royal family. An elderly troll, Pabbie, made his way over and examined Anna. Though Anna's state seemed critical, Pabbie noted that it was fortunate Anna had not been struck in the heart and that healing her head would be a relatively simple task. After Agnarr urged Pabbie to do whatever was necessary, Elsa watched as the elderly troll proceeded to remove her magic, even going so far as to modify Anna's memories of her sister's powers as a precautionary measure. To her family's relief, Anna smiled, indicating that Pabbie's healing was taking effect.
Pabbie then turned to Elsa and warned her that her powers would only continue to grow and that they were beautiful but dangerous. He urged Elsa to learn to control her abilities but commented that "fear [would] be [her] enemy". At this, Agnarr assured Pabbie that Elsa could learn to control her magic and decided that until then, the castle gates would be locked and Elsa's contact with people would be limited, including with Anna. Agnarr had the two separated and moved Elsa and her belongings to a new room. Though Elsa sadly glanced at Anna before locking herself within her new room, she realized the necessity of the situation and accepted it.
After the Accident
Though Anna tried repeatedly to encourage her to play, Elsa always turned her sister down. In the years that followed, Elsa's only contact with others was through her parents; in particular, Agnarr worked closely with Elsa to help her attain control, even teaching her a mantra: "Conceal it, don't feel it. Don't let it show." When Elsa accidentally froze her window while gazing out at freshly fallen snow, Agnarr decided to give her a pair of gloves in the hopes they could stifle her powers. However, in spite of the gloves, Elsa's powers continued to manifest themselves, and when she accidentally froze a portion of her room, Elsa was horrified at the increasing potency of her abilities and even refused her parents to come close, fearing she would hurt them.
When Elsa was eighteen, Agnarr and Iduna had to depart on a two-week journey; Elsa formally curtsied them as they left, but worried about her powers in the absence of her parents, she questioned them about the necessity of their voyage. After expressing his faith that Elsa would be alright, Agnarr departed with Iduna. However, the two monarchs perished during their journey when their boat capsized during a deadly storm at sea; devastated by this loss, Elsa remained hidden in her room during her parents' funeral, her emotions resulting in the room being completely overtaken by ice. Though Anna tried once more to reach out to her sister, Elsa merely sat behind the door in despair, now truly alone.
Coronation
Three years after the passing of Agnarr and Iduna, Elsa was finally of age and ready to embrace the responsibilities of being a queen. The castle gates were to be open for her coronation to accommodate the representatives from other lands who had come to witness the ceremony. It was also an opportunity for the citizens of Arendelle to see their new queen.
Having hid from the world for so long, Elsa was apprehensive due to the potential risk her powers would be exposed. She practiced grasping the orb and scepter in the library while gazing at a portrait of her father's coronation and repeating their mantra to calm her nerves. Though she froze the candlestick and ornament with which she was practicing with, Elsa reminded herself the gates would only be open for that day and proceeded to tell the guards to open them. She then headed out onto a balcony that overlooked the courtyard to view the arriving guests before making her way to the chapel for her coronation.
At the chapel, Elsa was crowned by the bishop, but before being formally ordained as queen, she was required to grasp the orb and scepter. However, as Elsa moved to take the items, the bishop stopped her, reminding her to first remove her gloves. Her nerves threatening to overwhelm her, Elsa did as she was told, lifting the items with her bare hands and turning to face the crowd. As her anxiety caused the orb and scepter to acquire a thin layer of ice, Elsa became increasingly worried about her powers being noticed and barely allowed the bishop enough time to finish his holy statement, hastily replacing the items back on the pillow and taking back her gloves. Regaining composure, Elsa turned to face the rejoicing crowd, giving a small smile.
Following the ceremony, the delegates headed into the Great Hall for the post-coronation festivities where they danced and ate. After Kai introduced them to the guests, Elsa and Anna found themselves standing next to each other and unsure of what to say, they both exchanged surreptitious glances. However, Elsa finally greeted her sister and though Anna was taken aback, they slowly eased into a comfortable conversation.
This reunion was interrupted by Kai, who introduced the two sisters to the Duke of Weselton, who represented Arendelle's closest trading partner and wanted to offer Elsa her first dance as queen. Elsa politely refused the Duke's offer, stating she did not dance and suggested that the Duke dance with Anna. Before Anna could protest, the Duke pulled her away and after Anna looked at her desperately, Elsa silently apologized with a wave.
As Anna continued to dance with the Duke, Elsa watched from afar, amused at her sister's predicament. When Anna finished the dance and returned to her side, the two of them briefly poked fun at the Duke. Anna commented that she wished the castle could always be this vibrant, and though Elsa agreed, she caught herself and interjected that it was not possible. Anna asked why, but Elsa interrupted by saying "It just can't". When Anna excused herself, Elsa sadly watched her sister go.
A short time later, Elsa found Anna making her way through the crowd to introduce Hans, whom she acknowledged with a courteous subtle nod. Their previous conversation forgotten, Anna happily informed Elsa of her intention to marry Hans. Shocked by her sister's announcement, Elsa firmly told Anna that there would be no marriage and asked Anna if they could have a moment alone.
However, Anna refused and promptly told Elsa that if she had an objection, she should address them together. Relenting, Elsa told Anna that she could not marry a man she had just met. Though Anna continued to argue, going so far as to question Elsa's knowledge of love, Elsa asserted that she would not bless the marriage and turned to a guard, telling him that the party was over and that the gates were to be closed. He swiftly obliged, much to Anna's dismay.
Elsa tried to walk away, but Anna frantically reached for her, removing her glove in the process. Afraid that she would be unable to contain her powers, Elsa reached for the glove, but Anna held it away and said that she could not stand living in isolation anymore. Though it pained her to say it, Elsa curtly responded by suggesting that Anna leave. As Elsa turned away again, Anna began to loudly question her, wanting to know what she had done to deserve this treatment. Elsa tried to keep her sister quiet, but Anna continued her outburst and demanded Elsa reveal her fears.
Her patience wearing thin, Elsa whirled to face Anna and gestured angrily with her hand, causing ice spikes to erupt across the floor. Immediately regretting losing control of her temper, Elsa slowly realized she had nearly hurt the party-goers and left the room, hoping to find temporary solace in the courtyard. To her horror, the citizens of Arendelle had gathered in large numbers, hoping to catch a glimpse of their new queen.
Disconcerted, Elsa backed into a fountain and grasped its edge, causing the water to freeze solid, to the shock of the citizens. The situation only escalated when the Duke of Weselton came into the courtyard with his guards and demanded that someone stop her; Elsa pleaded with the Duke to keep his distance but accidentally shot a blast of ice at him, causing him and his guards to slip. Further provoked, he called her a "monster". Glancing around at the fearful crowd, Elsa decided to flee Arendelle, despite Anna's attempts to convince her otherwise. As she raced across the fjord, she accidentally froze it and cast a spell of eternal winter over the entire kingdom.
Free
After she ran well into the night, Elsa found herself at the North Mountain. Initially, she brooded over her loneliness and her failure to conceal her powers. However, realizing that she was too far away to hurt anyone, Elsa began to experiment with her powers, embracing the aspect of her being that she had tried to keep hidden for so long.
Though she started out with simple blasts of snow, Elsa slowly gained more confidence, rebuilding Olaf and constructing an icy staircase to cross a gorge. Wishing to test her limits, Elsa stamped her foot, generating a massive snowflake; building upon this hexagonal base, Elsa raised her arms upward and caused the snowflake to rise on ice beams, building walls, archways, and a glistening chandelier as she ascended.
Wishing to live out her days alone in her new palace, Elsa resolved never to return to Arendelle, and in a symbolic renunciation of her past, she threw away her crown, let down her hair, and transformed her coronation dress into a new ice dress. With the sun rising, Elsa stepped out onto a balcony, and illuminated by the light of dawn, she reveled in her newfound freedom.
Though Elsa was determined to live alone, Anna still managed to find her. When she heard her sister enter the ice palace and call out her name, Elsa stood at the top of a staircase, greeting Anna with a gleaming smile. Struck by the beauty of Elsa's new look, Anna wasted no time in complimenting her sister. Thanking her for the kind words, Elsa seemed to welcome Anna's presence, informing her that prior to leaving Arendelle, she had never known the extent of her capabilities. However, as Anna began to ascend the steps to get closer, Elsa started to back away, still fearful of potentially hurting her. Elsa insisted that Anna return home to Arendelle, but Anna argued that it was where Elsa belonged too. Refusing to yield, Elsa asserted that her place was away from the kingdom, free to be who she was without endangering anyone.
At that moment, Elsa was astonished to see Olaf gleefully entering the ice palace of his own accord. With Olaf present, Elsa reminisced on her happy childhood with Anna, but the memory of the accident soon overwhelmed her, and with her fleeting smile replaced by a look of sorrow, Elsa turned away from Anna, dismissing her. But Anna refused to relent and pursued Elsa up the steps, fervently insisting that they could make things right.
Elsa continued to maintain that Anna return home and acknowledged her self-imposed exile as a necessary act to protect everyone. However, after being informed that she had cast an eternal winter over the kingdom and brought suffering upon its inhabitants, Elsa grew fearful. She stated that she did not know how to reverse the effects of her magic and began to produce a swirl of snow around herself in panic. Horrified at what her powers had done, Elsa regarded them as a "curse" once more. Despite her sister's attempts to reassure her, she continued to panic and eventually gathered the swirl of snow into herself and released it as a blast of ice magic, unwittingly striking Anna in the heart.
Whirling around at the sound of Anna's cry of pain, Elsa gasped at her sister's kneeling form but had little time to process what had happened, as Kristoff rushed in to help Anna to her feet. Scared by the appearance of another individual that she could hurt with her powers, Elsa demanded that they leave immediately. However, Anna remained resolute in staying until Elsa agreed to accompany her, saying they could figure out what to do together. Seeing no other alternative, Elsa used her powers to animate a massive snow monster, Marshmallow, who proceeded to chase the trespassers away.
White as Snow
Jวซrmungandr is the largest of Elsa's dragons. He is larger than the width of Arendelle's castle. He is as white as the snow, almost invisible to the naked eye when sleeping with his eyes closed. His horns and claws are see-through, made of clear ice. Two rows of teeth fill his mouth, long and terrifying, but see-through, like the sharpest icicles. He is Elsa's mount, and they have a slightly psychic connection.
Black Ice
Nidhogg is a large black dragon, his horns and scales almost see through, though still as dark as the rest of him. He is smaller than Jรถrmungandr, but still impressive in size, only dwarfing his brother by about a third of his body length. Nidhogg is almost completely silent when in flight or on foot, and rarely makes a noise unless he is trying to get the attention of Elsa, Anna or the other dragons. He is Anna's mount when the Princess wants to take flight, and has a fondness for her direwolf, Fenrir.
Sky Blue
Hiryur is roughly half the side of Jรถrmungandr, but what he lacks in size, he makes up for in speed. His blue colour almost perfectly matches the sky on a clear day and his speed means that he is something of a skilled hunter. He's occasionally mounted by Kristoff, though this does little to slow him down.
The Dragons
Fรกfnir is the youngest of Elsa's dragons, born almost 5 years after his brothers. He's much smaller than his siblings, only the size of a large dog and still smaller than Anna's direwolf. He matches Jวซrmungandr in most of his colouring, but his horns are a light blue, matching Hiryur's and his claws are a deep black like Nidhogg's. He often lives within the palace with Elsa and Anna, curling up to sleep in a pile of snow at the end of Elsa's bed.
Princess Anna
Anna is more daring than graceful and, at times, can act before she thinks. But she's also the most optimistic and caring person you'll ever meet. She longs to reconnect with her sister Elsa, as they were close during their childhood. When Elsa accidentally unleashes a magical secret that locks the kingdom of Arendelle in an eternal winter, Anna embarks on a dangerous adventure to make things right. Armed with only her fearlessness, a never-give-up attitude and her faith in others, Anna is determined to save both her kingdom and her family.

"Oh, come on! You said I could choose this time!" Slight disappointment creeped into the impossible girls voice after the Doctor shot down the trio of ideas she offered for their daily adventure and instead began to list off a pletora of his own ideas he deemed far more worthy of his attention.ย
The Doctor's face twisted in mock amusement, his companion's pleas seemingly going in one ear and out the other as he tossed the old book he had been rumaging through aside and barreled down the staircase towards the controls of his beloved space ship. The human mind. He would never understand it. Impressed so easily by primative things. All of time and space he offered her, and she wanted to explore ancient myths from her home planet. Things that weren't even real! Scoffing to himself, his hand came to rest upon his hip while the other leaned comfortably against the console unit, an amused expression dominating his weathered features as he faced his trusted companion.ย
Clara instantly found her place by his side, a slight pout taking shape upon her own features.
A moment of silence settled between them, their playful argument now manifesting in simple glances,ย something the two of them had mastered well over the years; being able to communicate without so much as a single word.ย
"Fine!" Clara finally caved, chocolate brown hues rolling in their sockets at her inevitable defeat. Arms folded comfortably across her chest, mild annoyance crossing her perfectly painted features. "Why don't we just let the TARDIS decide then?!"
The Doctor opened his mouth to protest again, to further establish his far superior ideas. But the desire for a new adventure caused him not to, his lips quickly pressing together again to supress a small smile, the amusement he found at their banter glistening within his silver hues. Without another word, he simply turned his head and began to fiddle with the controls beneath his calloused fingertips, that familiar mechanical cry soon signaling their flight through time and space.ย
When the ship finally stilled, Clara practically jumped out the double doors, unable to contain her thirst for adventure. But what she was met with already was not what she had been expecting. A chill immediately ran down her spine, sending shivers rippling throughout her entire body. Already, she could tell she was completely under dressed. The sting of frozen air around her making her regret not having checked where they were before exiting the box. Hands quickly found themselves upon her arms, rubbing them feircely in attempt to gain some friction and, ultimately, some warmth. She let out a shaky breath, the small cloud of air that escaped her lips practically freezing in seconds and making her question if she even wanted to have an adventure in the tundra.ย
She took a single step forward in attempt to observe her surroundings, feet slowly gliding across the floor before she could realize she was standing on a sheet of ice. In fact, now that she took a proper moment to take it all in, she realized they were completely surrounded by it, but not in the way one would expect. No, this was... otherworldly. This was a castle. Made entirely of ice.ย
Doe eyes widened, those warm hues gently devouring the details they failed to notice at first glance, both out of curiosity but also out of disbelief. How could such a thing exist? This was surelyย beyond human nature. "Uhhhhh, Doctor..."ย
Almost as if on cue, he finally followed behind her, his own feet slipping a bit upon the ice, an unusual bewildered stare instantly shaping his features, the crystals of ice reflecting in his silver hues so perfectly, causing them to sparkle a little extra. He too, was at a complete loss.ย
Clara noticed this immediately, her own astonishment subsiding for a mere second to gaze upon his. "Where are we?" Her voice was soft, almost as if she was afraid anything above a certain octave would harm the ice.ย
But all she was met with was silence, the old man too engrossed in their surroundings to answer any sort of questions she had. It was then she decided there was definitely no turning back. Despite how freezing cold it was, if it left the Doctor in such a state, it was surely bound to be one hell of an adventure. Perhaps it would even prove to be far better than anything either of them had suggested mere moments ago...
// I'm so sorry for the extremely long delay. Life has been crazy. -le cry; I do hope this is sufficient enough and well worth the wait. If not, as always, simply let me know and I'll be more than happy to change it up. :3ย
It brought the kind of cold that bit into bone; that formed crystals of ice on her lashes. She tucked her red, raw face into Drogonโs back to spare it the relentlessly pelting ice that had been ever constant since theyโd crossed the Wall. Coaxing her dragons across the hulking, man-made border of ice had been a feat. Their ardent refusal had nearly forced them to venture out on horseback; making their journey all the more treacherous. It had seemed that Drogon and Rhaegal would throw their riders rather than cross, and Viserionโs temper grew ever shorter. It was no simple thing to bring a reluctant dragon to heel, but Dany had done it. She had too. Everything depended upon it.
For something had woken in the heart of the Northโin the Heart of Winter. Death marched on the wall; an army of White Walkers, Others, and wights. With them would come the end to all things living, a Night that would never end.
Though theyโd gathered, all the living, to fight for the dawnโthough theyโd set aside their differences, be they ancient grudges or new feudsโit would not be enough. They would fight on futilely to destroy a foe that would never tire, that would never stop coming, until the last man took his dying breath. The White Walkers would make slaves of their corpses and march on and on and on.
This was something that the breaker of chains could not allow.
And so they flew, she and Jon Snow, to the Heart of Winter, to destroy it. In destroying it, they would destroy them, and bring about an eternal spring. Or so the stories told it in one of Samwell Tarlyโs books.
She tightened her grip on Drogonโs horns and huddled into his natural warmth. Her leather gloves grew slippery as they frozeโand as she tired.
โDany!โ Jonโs voice carried to her over the whipping, howling wind.
She lifted her face, albeit unwillingly, back into the squall and raised an arm to shield her eyes, peering in the direction in which he pointed. A small kingdom loomed out of the blinding white, the castle turrets reaching for the sky.
The ice queenโs kingdom.
It was said she was a formidable woman who wielded the power of winter even more readily than Daenerys did of fire. It was rumored she could freeze roiling seas and create living beasts from snow. She would make a formidable adversary, should she be a friend of their enemy. Would an ice queen not revel in winter eternal? Perhaps it was she who had woken them. Perhaps they did her bidding. To visit her was a risk, but one worth taking. They were left with little choice.
Dany nodded once and tilted her hips. Drogon descended and touched down in the snow, grumbling in protest, a fair distance from the castle; too far away for her children to be seen or heard, unless they should make a spectacle of themselves.
She dismounted into near waist-deep snow, sucking in a breath through her teeth. She pat Drogonโs flank, the falling snow sizzling and rising in steam off his flesh, and turned at the sound of shuffling. Jon lumbered toward her, battling with the snow, his gray eyes searching her face, scanning for signs that she was in danger of succumbing to cold.
โIโm alright,โ she promised as he reached for her, rubbing her arms up and down in rapid strokes. โYouโre getting better,โ she noted, glancing over his shoulder at Rhaegal, who shook the snow off and grunted in displeasure.
โYouโre a bleedinโ liar.โ
She couldnโt but laugh at that.
โThis is farther North than Iโve ever been,โ he told her, casting his gaze in the direction of the castle.
โWhatever it is, whateverโs aheadโ she clasped his hand, โwe face it together. We must. All she need do is let us pass through her lands in peace. Surely she wonโt disagree to that. If she doesโฆโ She met Jonโs gaze when she felt his eyes on her face. โFire melts ice.โ
Something flashed in his eyes, a mutual understanding.
โLetโs hope it doesnโt come to that.โ
Dany agreed.
Jon grunted and turned, trudging into the unknown, his fingers strong and reassuring around hers. She followed in the path that his body carved in the snow, rising up on her toes to try to gauge the distance to the place called Arendelle. Her body was wracked with shivers by the time they reached the gates; which to her astonishment, were open and beckoning. The pair exchanged glances as they entered the city, Jonโs hand tightening around hers.
Arendelle was not the terrible, monstrous place of ice she had imagined. It bustled with people. There were merchants selling their wares, children playing fearlessly in the streets. Ladies chatted idly in clusters at their stalls and shops. It was a city much like every other. Was there truly something as sinister here as a queen of winter?
Guards stood before the palace doors, tall and vigilant. Did they protect their queen so dutifully out of loyalty or fear? She would soon find out.
Taking her place at Jonโs side, she addressed them, straight-backed with eyes of violet fire, every inch the Dragon Queen.ย
โI am Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, First of My Name, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men. Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea. The Breaker of Shackles,โ she paused to draw breath, meeting the eyes of the guard nearest her levelly. โAnd Mother of Dragons. I demand an audience with your queen. We mean neither her nor her kingdom any harm, but there is a matterโฆ,โ she glanced at Jon, โa matter most urgent, concerning all life in this world, that we must discuss. Now.โย
(I'm SO SO SO SORRRY this took so long. Just know, I'll never forget a reply to you. โฅ
The longer you wait too, the harder I try to make it up with an epic reply. Hope it's enjoyable.)
The men all exchange glances in silence. That expressed without words they were happy to see one another alive and grateful to be alive themselves. Tormund was the first to climb off Drogon when he at last made landing. He was a man who lived beyond the wall, a Wildling as they called him. He didnโt much like Westeros or the people, but he kissed the earth beneath him and had never been more happy to return.ย He rose just in time to watch his old friend Jon Snow dismount, followed by the Onion Knight Ser Davos and the Dragon Queens most trusted advisor and guard - Jorah Mormont, the bear of Bear Island. โIf you smell sh*tโฆ.itโs me.โ the ginger had always been vocally loud. His laughter bellowed like humorous thunder.ย โI think I sh*t my pants...twice.โ he snorted and laughed again. โA f***ing Dragon. I rode oneโฆ.f***ing madness..โ The others exchanged looks again. Davos and Jorah only smirked subtly, while Jon couldnโt help but chuckle.ย
Ser Davos had a thicker accent than the rest, being from flea bottom. Though eventually everyone grew accustomed to his mushed words, rolled rโs and the way his pitch seemed to always change. โAre you familiar with this ice...woman?โ Davos let his eyes fall to Torrund. There seemed to be so many women with titles and power these days. He hardly had the ink and quill to jot down all their names. Cersei was a nightmare upon the kingdom, while Daenerys was self-proclaimed queen. However, Davos really did not have much of a chance to form an opinion. Other than she was stubborn. He also met a red woman or red priestess and she was someone he despised. Another added into the chaos naturally concerned him. โLived my entire life past the wall. Iโve neva seen โer before or those f***ing ice dragons. Iโm not blind!โ the Wildlings eyes still ready to pop out of his head. Still laughing a little delusional from the near death experience. He'd been having too many for comfort.
Jon proceeded to step forward after that.โMy father actually once told me there was another race that lived during the time of the First Men and the Children. It was said they could manipulate frozen elements. They were tales spun long ago and not ever known from where. I always thought that story was trying to mention the Night Kingโฆ..I think was wrong...โ it came at the oddest but perfect timing, when the ice dragons came to a landing and the woman of mystery stepped onto land. Daenerys following right after. Her other two dragons up above, crying out it rawrs or joy to see their mother home safe.
It was warmer in Dragonstone. A chill wind and crisp air. But lush plains of green and not a drop of winter to be seen. Yet Dany still remained dusted of white snow from the return ride. The look of shock still painted on her face. She lost her voice the moment the Night King looked at her. She thought she would have it back by now. Jon and the men quickly approached her. Jorah was the first to be at her side. โAre you alright my Queen?โ bending the knee and taking her hand. She nodded her head and Jorah sighed with great relief before getting back to his feet. โI would like you all to meet Queen Elsa.โ she motioned a hand softly towards the young woman with similar hair. โYour Queen...beyond the wall, if you wall.โher gaze rolled to Tormund. Slightly resentful he had not mentioned. He once had been grinning and now was standing like a deer caught in the path of an arrow. 'There were no Kings or Queens beyond the wall....โ he thought to himself. He did not speak though and gave those who cared for politics the chance to speak.ย
โWe have many reasons to thank her.โ she assured them firmly. โ....and certainly owe her debt.โ She did not want to waste time any further. She had no other thought but stopping these monsters from ravishing the world.
โI know...you have no reason to truly help us. Iโd understand if you are frightened or other burdens way you. Yet I think you knowโฆ.โshe paused and stepped toward the other Queen once more. โWe need to stand together against them. The night King and the White Walkers. Not for ourselves, not for glory or for kingdoms. For this...world. This IS...bigger than ourselves.โ she let her eyes study each of theirs. So that all might understand the value of banning together with fellow brethren. So much passion and desperation in her violet hues.
She held out her hand to the female with pale hair. With hopes that they could meet an agreement and move to end the Night King and his army.
She could not believe in her wildest dreams such monsters roamed the lands. Which spoke mountains towards the shock that dilated her dark pupils and kept her feet heavy with the invisible weight of shackles. Sheโd never seen anything like it and this thought came from the mind of a girl who gave birth to dragons through fire and smoke. Any in their right mind would assume this to be a nightmare. The premise too dramatic and terrifying to be real. The bite of the wind served as a reminder that she was not sweetly sleeping in a bed somewhere. It took a blink, that was all and the horde multiplied over the hillside. The amount of numbers the Night King possessed was countless. There was no such number ever created for it. It seemed that endless. The wall kept away many other secrets. Lips agape in awe, as her hues gleamed to the gloomy skies and saw dragons at flight that were not her own. In fact so far different. Dragons of ice, roaming around with a dragon of fire. It was another sight to behold. Even for the Night King, who of course expressed no emotion. But as he turned his head to gaze at the creatures soaring. It was oddly unspoken, how she knew even โheโ was taken back. The Dragons continued to dance against the grey snow sky. Doing their best to give relief to those on foot. They'd scorch or freeze chunks of the horde. It would help for the meantime. Until more came through the mountain pass. They needed to hurry.
She took a few short steps back as the creature of ice made its landing. In another situation she might of stopped to wonder and fascinate over it. However there was no such time for that. She did already have several questions and concerns in regards to the creatures keeper. She tucked all that aside and began climbing onto the wing and then throwing her leg over and mounting for flight. Who ever this stranger was, Daenerys knew for certain - she was most grateful for her help. The timing seemed to be cast nearly by the desire of fates hand. Any later and the men stuck on that small icy island might of had a much different fate. She felt a little more hopeful. Drogon and the others slowed them down a great deal. There was no longer a litter hanging around in the waters near Jon and the men. The white covered plains had more dropped bodies than animated ones. They needed to move with haste - to use this time to their advantage.
It was as if Drogon read her thoughts. 'Blood of my blood.' She thought to herself, with a bitter sweet smile. Watching as his broad wings tucked over head for a landing. Dany holding her breath and cringing, not sure if the sheet of ice would hold his weight. Lucky for the men, it did. The remaining island of ice held just long enough for Jon and the rest to climb aboard her largest of dragons. For once, they did not hesitate in the mere presence of Drogon. When his back feet kicked off and he lunged into the air, the ice cracked and slowly began to sink away into the cold pitch black water. The thirsty claws of the Wights trying to cling onto the laces of boots or the hems of long fur capes. Drogon carried them up high and out of grasp. The blue eyes all gleaming up at them.
Daenerys felt she could catch her breath for a moment, knowing they were in safe hands.ย
"We must return beyond the wallโฆ" she urged the Dragon Rider. For a moment, staring into her eyes. She might of thought this stranger was a Targaryen. The pale hair, the similar colored eyes and the dragons that followed her. But at the same time, the two had different facial features and bone structure. Even a general presence. Dany wondered if she was something entirely different? How many other people and races might live beyond the wall? "....to my people at Dragonstone." They needed to get back. To inform both her people and the men of Winterfell of what was coming. Also, to prepare weapons of Dragonglass. Which an entire quarry of the rock was hidden under Dragonstone castle.ย
The urgency seemed so important she forgot one thing. It was only two words, even in desperation - it did not take much time. She leaned in just slightly, pressing a hand over the others. "Thank you."
Drogon would already be in the distance, but a spec to their eyes now. The Night King lingering ominously with a haunting blue gaze.
โJon!โ she cried out to him. โJorahโฆSer Barristan.โ she cried out again with all the force that she could muster. The big voice she summoned didnโt even carry in the slightest through the dense fog and relentless whistle of the wind. She stood in a still and silent shock. Cerulean hues of the Dragon Queen at last were resting upon the icelands of history nested beyond the wall Bran the Builder had created. It was exactly that. A wasteland. Every step she made trudged her through thick blankets of snow that swallowed her up just past the ankle. She feared to move further or she might fumble into a path of snow that could eat her entirely. Yet standing still in this bitter bite of weather seemed far more foolish.
She jolted her head to gaze past a slender shoulder when the great peak of the mountain gave forth an echoing grumble. What birds lingered nearby scattered off in the blink of an eye. It was the same rumble that happened only moments ago, knocking her men and herself from the back of her nearly full grown dragon. Drogon was made like steel. With scales of black molton and crimson that flecked each one with a mesmerizing shine and glimmer. But the sheer power of snow and wind that resonated from that mountains thunder nearly swept even him away. The last thing she could remember was Jons northern mug covered in his bristle black beard screaming. โAVALANCโฆ.โ
Luckily. The mountain only grunted and the new wind called away the fog that blocked her gaze. There were hills upon hills, mountains that might of touched the stars and a plain of white as far as the eye could see. When she turned to gleam back in front of her. Thatโs when she saw it. Jon, Jorah and Ser Barristan - along with a few other loyals who dared tag along. All trapped on a sheet of ice that created an island near a body of water. Circling around them and clamoring through the deep icy water were the demons Jon once urged her about. The White Walkers were the reason they were here. Proof for Cersei Lannister. Daenerys was here for proof for herself. She had it-! By the thousands. Walking bones, thin flesh clinging with last of rotting intent. No souls in their eyes as they aimlessly clamored over one another to get to the mortals on that island. They would just keep walking until they drown or froze. The next wave following suit. The pile of bones left behind created a disturbing bridge of corpses for the White Walkers to get closer and closer. Second by second.
What could she do? How could she help? There were so many and they moved with a speed she least anticipated the dead to have. She thought of a foolish idea, to scream to high heavens as to break their focus. The list of options so scarce, that this was the only good idea she could gather. She filled her lungs to do so. Then stopped suddenly. The White Walkers grew still and silent. Past the stretch of trees just shy of the horizon that lined the Barron plains emerged blue demons on horses. These ones much different. With armor that hinted the essence of kings. Their eyes the same blue, but these ones dared to look straight across the distance and into her very own. A finger raising to point in her direction. A silent breath before a new horde came rolling out behind them like a wave of death.
"DRACARYSSSSSS!" she would scream. Not knowing if it was heard. It was not long after that a stream of fire came shooting from the skies above to turn the first wave of bones into ash that blended with snowfall.
