Green With Power
Green with Power 𝓞𝓵𝓮𝓪𝓷𝓭𝓮𝓻 /1849659 She had never seen anything like this man before in her life. Pamela watched from a position of safety as he turned all the guards from Arkham that had followed her into nothing but dust in a very real sense of the word. She was still helpless because the collar was around her neck neutralizing her powers. Pamela had been utterly helpless before like when she was a child. Her father and his abuse had tormented her mentally as well as physically. She learned not to trust men because of him. She didn't hate men. Who was she kidding? Thanks to her father and Jason Woodrue she loathed most men and found them easier to use as pawns in her ultimate game. This man had a power that was absolutely intoxicating. Pamela wanted to know more about him. She needed to know more about him. She remained with her back to the nearest wall of this escape hatch she'd found. She was still trying to figure out who he was when he finally approached her. The power dampening collar fell to pieces in his touch. Once she was free, she felt the power surging again through her veins. It was like a light switch. Poison Ivy had been in the dark for far too long. She curled her fingers watching them sparkle with ambient emerald energy. Green was the color of life. She watched as twelve men ran their way all focused on the apprehending of the Gotham Rogue. Oh this was going to be fun… Poison Ivy raised both hands to the sky with clenched fists at the same time. Roots buried far beneath the ground erupted in violent splendor. These branches of dormant plants from Gotham's recent history snatched each man by their ankles and lifted them into the air approximately 10 feet. Once they reached their intended height, she lowered her hands. Ivy soon walked through these helpless fools as they dangled between the sky above and ground below. The more they struggled, the tighter the roots squeezed them. She merely held up two fingers while the emerald energy was glowing from her fingertips. When she held up her fingers. Then the dangling stopped at that level. The orange jumpsuit from Arkham was an annoyance. She merely sent out a thought as she stood in the middle of these captured guards. The orange jumpsuit was simply torn away leaving her nude for a moment. When she stopped, The green traveled up her legs and every little curve covering her with form fitting Ivy that was like a second skin. She walked barefoot as the green blossomed with each step she took keeping her from being assaulted by the corruption of Gaia's earth by these bumbling fools. When each one faced her to watch her walk by them, they kept calling out and begging for their lives. "Please! I'm so sorry! It won't happen again!" The smell of human excrement and urine came as these products trailed down the bodies but where going up because of the positions these 12 men were in as Ivy's nature trap held them still. It was a really rather disgusting smell that assaulted her senses. "You're a bunch of filthy pigs!" She hissed through clenched teeth. The men were hanging in groups of three left to whatever punishment that the Vined Vixen had determined to give him. She walked through them one more time giving them a last moment to focus their gazes upon her. The image of this Lethal Beauty passing through them was the last thing they'd be permitted to see in this realm. The ground underneath them shook. Massive Venus FlyTraps emerged from the ground. Each plant monster's jaws clapped around each man's head, crushing them instantly. The death screams of the men that were murdered at her hands were muffled by the powerful plants' jaws. She walked seductively toward her savior. This man who was obviously Chinese was extremely handsome and had enraptured Ivy's attention. "Never let it be said that I don't repay my debts." She told him. She had no idea who he was, but he oozed power. Perhaps it was time to reevaluate her opinions about men. "I am Poison Ivy. You obviously absorb or feed on their essence. I'd suggest getting them now before they slip away." She stepped aside allowing him whatever access he wanted to the men she'd just murdered. She shared absolutely no remorse or even a second thought that these twelve men had families or people that would miss them after they were gone. They were steps in her path that needed to be eliminated. She turned around to see what her new Chinese friend would do. She could see the darkness in his heart by looking into his eyes. Had Pamela finally found her match? The prospect was absolutely thrilling to her. This was obviously the start of something beautiful and dangerous. Ivy was ready to write this next chapter of her life in blood. Nothing could ever stop her again. "I wanna taste you but your lips are venomous poison "

The Golden Tree [post 2]
The Golden Tree 𝓞𝓵𝓮𝓪𝓷𝓭𝓮𝓻 /1849659 Halt! Who are you?Ivy stopped in her tracks, still giving plenty of room between herself and Thor as the Valkyrie landed. "I am Ivy. I mean noone any harm." The way those wings dripped off her back was impressive. Ivy had no malevolent intent so she was definitely making sure that she didn't catch the Valkyrie's weapons for certain. Ivy sensed it before it happened. The tree moved to keep her away. She took two steps backwards even from her already distant stance. She never meant any harm to nature itself. She was a part of nature and bent her knee willingly to Gaia. The two tree avatars were on a higher level than she'd ever witnessed before. The power of nature surging through them was absolutely remarkable. Ivy knew there were those more powerful with nature's gifts than she was and she never wanted to anger them. She felt the avatars snatch her from the ground and drop her through the portal to the inside of the tree. The varying shades of greens and browns along with the bright gold flashed all around her. Years ago as a child, she'd read Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll. She somehow gained a new understanding for Alice falling down the rabbit hole. “You have to prove to me you are worthy to be this place’s protector. My son is sick but healing. He will judge you after…and if you survive this test.” Ivy knew the voice of the Goddess. She was surrounded by the words as she fell until finally she felt the glowing growth erupted from the heart of the tree enveloping her forearms and legs. Ivy could not move, nor did she want to move. Her goddess wanted her to make an accounting of herself and she would do just that. “Tell me why I should allow you to protect this place…”Ivy did not struggle. She remained humble in the presence of her goddess. "I have become a mother. My heart hurts when my children are hurt. I would do anything to take away all their pain." She inhaled letting her head bow. "The pristine beauty of nature must always be guarded. There is an ecosystem that exists that comprises all of nature. It must always be protected at all costs. Even my own life…" Her muscles relaxed. She offered up no resistance to being held in place. She may have been docile appearing but under the surface, Queen Ivy was there. Queen Ivy was content to let Ivy take the reins. In the event that danger would present itself to her, Queen Ivy would take over. For now, with her heart on her sleeve, Ivy awaited the next step in these trials. This Ivy was the one who had been an innocent child physically abused by a drunken father and protected by a loving mother. She'd been one of young Bruce Wayne's best friends. She learned of the glories of nature and how to revere nature by her mother. It was because of her mother who had been murdered by her father that Pamela wanted to be a botanist. Her soul was laid bare before Gaia to judge her and to start whatever trial awaited. "I failed to protect my mother and I lost her." She whispered. "Nature is the only thing I have left of her." A lone tear escaped her left eye, racing down her cheek and splashing on the growth that held her forearms. She was, in a sense, that little girl again with all her weaknesses exposed. Was she going to lose again? She was not completely innocent. Because of her mental illness, she had blood on her hands. It was why Arkham had a room they kept open just for her any time she was apprehended. Redemption was something she'd given up on some time ago. Was it even possible for someone like her? "I wanna taste you but your lips are venomous poison "

An Autumn Stroll [HU Pamela]
An Autumn Stroll 𝓞𝓵𝓮𝓪𝓷𝓭𝓮𝓻 /1849659 Herbology was just such a gift to the young Pamela Lillian Isley. She often took her books as well as her seven inch wand that was made of vine with a Dittany Stalk core outside to study. She was always trying to refine her craft. She had a gift for herbology that had many of different houses admiring her skill, even if she was a Muggleborn. There was a particular spot on the Hogwarts grounds that she often retreated to in order to study more effectively. Her long curls of crimson fell down her shoulders. It was a bit chilly outside, so she wore her House sweater. Pamela had been a Badger since she set foot on the grounds some two years before. She was in her third year now and well on her way to being a practicing herbologist. The normal area in which she practiced, was already claimed by other students. She could have stayed there, but Pamela generally kept to herself as a rule except for a few cases. The bonny Irish Lass had been the victim of a cruel homelife. Hogwarts was her safe haven. Her gifts were unique and special. It was her plants that had brought her nothing but joy. She discovered the Celtic goddess Danu and that had given her some pleasant memories of Eire. Not all memories would be tainted by a father who enjoyed trips to the pub a bit much. Pamela was lost in thoughts of home as she continued walking. As she kept walking, Pamela subconsciously noticed that the sky started to darken. The trees were thicker. She could have stopped walking but she didn't. Something was pulling at her to keep going. Invasive thoughts tried to get her to turn around but she couldn't. The loud sounds of an owl came from the nearest tree. It left the tree to fly across the glade. The loud hooting sound made her blood run cold. It was a harbinger of doom to the girl of such tender years. She screamed as the owl flew overhead nearly hitting her head in the process. Pamela was on her knees in an area that looked nothing like Hogwarts. Her heart was pounding in her chest. Her books and her wand were in various places around her on the ground. She started to scramble to scoop up everything. As she did, the sounds of footsteps in the thicket began to rapidly increase. "H-Hello!" She managed to squeak out like a dormouse. Her breathing increased as she started to physically tremble. She finally managed to pick up everything she had including her wand. She stumbled forward trying to arrange her books again. The footsteps around her had not gone away. She could still hear them. Tears were forming in her eyes. She wanted to just get back to her dorm and forget all about this whole day! She stepped through the trees until she came to a clearing. What she saw made her eyes open with wonder. Her fears immediately ceased and she felt great sympathy for what she saw. It was a baby unicorn. The sweet little creature had a wound around its right foreleg that had caused it to fall. Pamela saw the pleading look in the baby's eyes. A tiny sound left its mouth as the agony was indescribable. Pamela approached the baby carefully. "You're hurt. Poor wee babe." Given her knowledge of herbology, there was a distinct chance that she could help. She knelt beside the baby and gingerly examined the wound. It looked as though the baby had gotten caught by a hunter's trap. "Bloody Bastards!" She muttered under her breath. She muttered a few other words that were not to be spoken of by 3rd year students, especially any good Badger! Pamela went to work coming up with a healing poultice that she affixed to the baby's leg. She could see a light green glow as the medicine began to work. The baby moved its leg and started to whiney. Pamela remained there as the colt managed to make its way back to all four feet. She was smiling because the young unicorn looked perfectly fine. Stepping out from the cover of trees was a larger unicorn that resembled the smaller one. It was easy for Pamela to realize that the footsteps that had frightened her earlier had come from the mother unicorn. The baby moved to its mother's side. For a brief moment, Pamela thought of her own mother. It was a beautiful sight. The mother unicorn huffed and stomped her foot. Pamela had no idea what was wrong. She watched a little longer. It was not threatening her. Pamela gathered her things and decided to follow the unicorn mother and child. The whole trip into this Forest had been frightening. With the unicorns leading her, she had a whole different experience. She was able to appreciate what she saw going out even stopping to pick up some rare flowers along the way that she felt could only advance her studies in herbology. The deeper her connection was with all things green, the better she felt she was. The unicorns stopped just shy of the edge of the forest. Pamela could hear the sounds of students laughing and some speaking. She knew she was safe once more. She started to race ahead but stopped to say goodbye to the unicorns. By the time she did, the unicorns were already gone. Pamela stepped back onto the grounds of Hogwarts. With her books and wand in hand, she headed back toward the Hufflepuff common room. She'd had enough adventures for the day and decided it was time to relax a bit. She had some new ingredients to work with for an extra credit potion, so she'd tend to that later. For now, Pamela Isley of Galway Ireland had a once in a lifetime experience she'd treasure for the rest of her life. "I wanna taste you but your lips are venomous poison "

The Golden Tree
The Golden Tree 𝓞𝓵𝓮𝓪𝓷𝓭𝓮𝓻 /1849659 On the hidden island of Shang Tsung, Pamela Isley Shang was invisible to any eyes that would seek to do her harm. She had returned back home with her beautiful twin babies to a month of pure love and peace as a family after having nearly lost everything. The growth of the daughters of Tsung and Ivy was absolutely remarkable. Their powers were getting stronger every day, which pleased their parents tremendously. It was one day while in one of her gardens on Shang's Island that Ivy felt it. The scarred Earth in Iceland was healing. Ivy's own connection to the Earth was always a powerful one, but she could sense Gaea herself at work. It intrigued her. It called to her. The call of Gaea was so strong that Ivy could tell that her daughter Lian felt it too. Lian covered her big brother Jiang Huang in honeysuckle. The "plant monster" son of Ivy and Tsung was their first creation and could walk on his own. When Ivy saw what Lian had done, she knew she had work to do. Ivy had learned since New York to always make a contingency plan. She left a very special section of the Flesh Pits on Shang's Island and returned to the nursery of her little princesses. With the blessing of their father, Ivy entered a portal with both girls in a stroller once more. She did not exit the portal in Gotham or in Iceland. She stopped in Latveria. The friendship she had with Queen Morgana traced back to the day a 15 year old Pamela Isley ran away from home when her uncle had come to take her to Seattle for her safety. She somehow wound up in Avalon. She never knew how but a very pregnant Morgan LeFay sent the girl back to safety to her uncle. Ivy knew that no one would dare bother Morgan or Doom. Her precious babies would be extremely safe there. Ivy stepped into yet another portal as she left Latveria. This one took her to her last destination. Within mere moments due to magical transportation methods, Ivy was in Iceland. She stepped out of the portal dressed all in vines. Hidden around her neck was the Lanbaoshi amulet created by her husband. She hid it away as best she could in all the vines that clothed her body. ~*~ The vegetation was so new and so vibrant. The land was damaged from the great battle that took place here in recent history. Ivy had been tucked away in Gotham City at the time. She reached out to gently caress each blossom and each bud. She used her power to only strengthen and enhance each flower more. Around her feet, flowers sprung up making the ground further heal in this reborn paradise. The trees were in the most pristine form Ivy had ever seen. It was so beautiful. Tears came to her eyes. They didn't know the corruption of mankind. She blew a kiss to these simple trees. When she did, flowers blossomed and the trees flourished. Ivy was the avatar of Gaea. She was here to bring only blessings in nature's most basic form to this place that seemed like the second coming of Eden. Her powers made everything grow adding to the rebirth of this damaged land. She made it far enough inside this new Eden to find the Golden Tree. It was so utterly perfect. Its magnificence of the tree made Ivy actually cry. She'd never seen it, but somehow she knew that this tree was more radiant than Yggdrasil itself. She stopped in her reverence of the tree to see Gaea's most precious gem ever near the tree. It was the god Thor. Ivy had never met Thor but she knew of him. Everyone did. She canted her head to the right side observing him from afar. She had zero ill intent. She came as a servant of Gaea to do her bidding. She didn't know how to approach Thor or even if she should. He was the son of Nature, so he deserved her respect. It was something she gave gladly. "Thor..?" She spoke softly. "Is everything okay? I'm here to help. Will you let me?" "I wanna taste you but your lips are venomous poison "

You Belong to the City
You Belong to the City 𝓞𝓵𝓮𝓪𝓷𝓭𝓮𝓻 /1849659 Gotham City meant different things to different people. To Pamela Isley Shang, it meant several things. She'd had a jaded past surrounded by a various assortment of those who actually gave a damn and those who had been jealous of her and her gifts. She’d been a talented young botanist when Dr. Jason Woodrue had taken notice of her. His terror and torment had made her into the chaotic mess she was now. Woodrue created Poison Ivy. The Pamela that grew up as an innocent child was gone… or so anyone believed. There was a former laboratory that Poison Ivy had converted into a private lab for herself years ago. It was here she’d actually performed experiments on herself to understand exactly what Woodrue had done to her. That was when she started to experience mild blackouts and loss of time. She would wake up in places and not know how she got there. Her files at Arkham labeled her with a mild Multiple Personality Disorder. She refused to believe that it was real. She still did because she hated the doctors at Arkham. She felt like they’d manufacture anything to keep her there longer. It was another reason why she often found ways to escape. She was sitting here at her lab once more. She wasn’t afraid of blacking out again. She came here to do some work that only she could. Her files at Arkham labeled her with two personalities. Her dominating one was The Queen. Queen Ivy was driven and unrelenting. It was this side of her that was a murderer. Ivy was the lesser side that was caring and full of love. This was the side that grew up as a demure child of the abusive George Isley. She had never been one to even swat a fly. This was the part of her that had been dominant for so long. The psychologists speculated that the ruthless and murdering Queen Ivy was born when she was traumatized and experimented on by Jason Woodrue. Their goals were to bring Ivy to the front and to make Queen Ivy go away. It was Queen Ivy that was lost for hours in her lab on this particular occasion. As the wife of Shang Tsung, she was a permanent resident of his Island that lay in Earthrealm, but was a gateway to Outworld. He had procured several plants that had grown only in Outworld to be brought to her in her greenhouses that she possessed on his island. These flowers, like all green, spoke to her. She used her skills in botany to manufacture an exceptionally potent stimulant that left its users feeling like they could take on the world. When they came off the high, they needed to get back on it. They would do anything including fight to the death for it. A new Mortal Kombat was erupting in the seediest areas of Gotham and it was spreading. The Rogues knew Ivy's lab. They had access to it because of Ivy's design. Some were working with her to spread the drug called Hǔ zhǎo. [Tiger Claw in Chinese.] The average gangbanger called it HZ. They all wanted it and they were dying for it and dropping like flies. When they got to that point was where Shang Tsung took his cue. Ivy knew he had his Underground Fight Club in Gotham. The hapless fools getting hooked on HZ wound up as slaves to Shang Tsung even in death. She finished this batch of HZ and had it ready for the courier. This wasn't the first batch and it wouldn't be the last. Ivy wasn't alone either. Her daughters were in a rosewood playpen happily playing with their toys and content as could be. It was a world that their parents were preparing to hand them on a silver platter. Wasn't parenthood grand? "I wanna taste you but your lips are venomous poison "

The Wedding Reception
The Wedding Reception 𝓞𝓵𝓮𝓪𝓷𝓭𝓮𝓻 /1849659 It had been some time since Ivy had been traumatized by her latest death and rebirth. This time was different however. This time she had been carrying two children that were true miracles in every sense of the word. These little miracles fhad been protected by Gaea herself during the process of her rebirth until it was time for them to be born. Morgan le Fay had been a friend of Ivy's for some time now. They'd grown closer over the most recent few months leading up to Ivy's last death. She'd made arrangements with Morgan for assistance with her beloved unborn daughters when the time came. The half Faerie woman had come to Shang Tsung's Island along with her soulmate, Doctor Doom to see the births of two of the most beautiful creatures Ivy had ever seen. These were the daughters of Shang Tsung and Poison Ivy. Shang Juhua had been born first. As with Chinese tradition, both daughters surnames came first; Shang. Their first named were last. It was perfectly backwards than from American Culture, but these babies were half Chinese by birth. It was important to Ivy that they know the cultural heritage of their father. Juhua, the first born had hair as dark as the night with perfectly cherubic cheeks. Juhua also had a sparkle of mischief in her eye that was perfectly reminiscent of her father. Emerald sparkles glistened from her tiny fingertips practically from the moment she took her first breath. The magic that was emanating from her was an extension of her father. Tsung would have to be the one to instruct his daughter in its use as she would continue to grow. Shang Lian had a shock of red hair on her tiny head when she was born. Ivy knew of the child's connection to the green immediately because she felt it. When Lian met her mother's gaze, the connect was palpable. Ivy knew it without hesitation. The younger of the twin girls would carry on with protection of all things green like her mother and her Aunt Morgana. Ivy was a fiercely protective mother. She stayed hidden making very subtle appearances in Gotham under the radar. She maintained a connection with her friend Oswald Cobblepot as she made brief trips between Tsung's Island and Gotham to retrieve things she needed from her old arboretum ruins. Not once did she allow either Juhua or Lian to leave the safety of the Island. They were too young yet to be revealed to the world as a whole. But soon that would change. The union of Doom and Morgana was complete. The coronation of Morgana as Queen of Latveria was a celebration that Ivy did not intend to miss. She and Tsung were preparing for their departure from the island along with their precious daughters. Ivy looked like a queen herself with a silk gown adorned with a beautiful floral design that covered the bodice. The skirts reached the ground covering the emerald silk pumps she wore. Her flowing red hair was pulled behind her. Both babies were in what would be called a playpen of sorts made from flowers that had been procured from Outworld. The babies were sitting up watching along with their mother as their father opened up a portal that would take them all to Latveria. Once it was complete, Ivy would take Lian and go first with Tsung and Juhua to follow so he could close the portal behind them. When the portal was open, they did just that. Ivy lifted Lian into her arms and walked first. Latveria Portal travel was second nature to Ivy at this point. Lian had tolerated the trip well which was something in and of itself. Ivy and Lian waited for Tsung and Juhua to arrive. Once they had arrived, the entire Shang Family would properly present themselves to the King and Queen in court as was the proper tradition. They were announced as The Shang Family to the court. Ivy curtsied to the monarchs of Latveria holding Lian in her arms. Ivy knew that here of all places was the perfect spot for their daughters official first appearances. The magic of Shang Tsung was formidable by itself but coupled with Dr. Doom and Morgana; this was the safest place her daughters could be outside Tsung's Island. It was absolutely perfect and proper for them to be presented in public in the court of the two that helped save their lives in the first place. "I wanna taste you but your lips are venomous poison "

MM Kurtis Stryker - MK
Back With a Vengeance Being a cop in Gotham City was definitely interesting to say the least. Kurtis Stryker wasn't exactly a beat cop. He hadn't worn a uniform in years. He was more special ops and even the SWAT team on occasion. Batman was Gotham's Guardian but he did work with the GCPD many times. He took on the big shots in Gotham who came out of the woodwork. You couldn't get more weird than a giant Croc man or a clown that paraded around down blowing sh*t up just for his jollies.
Stryker was on a detail that took Pamela Isley, known as Poison Ivy, to Arkham Asylum one time. She was notorious for using pheromones to manipulate anyone to do what she wanted of them. This time, she had an inhibitor collar on that was made by Wayne Biotech to keep her from doing that. He'd seen Ivy a few times and even tried to take her down himself. This time when he saw her, she seemed unusually docile. After turning her over to the facility, he left her there. Three days later, he heard that Ivy had escaped after killing a guard. Somewhere along the line, she met Shang Tsung.
Stryker shook his head when he'd heard that name again. He still remembered Liu Kang, Shao Khan, Kintaro and all of them. Shang Tsung was a name he would never forget. The Sorcerer sucked a few souls out of the poor saps along the way. They called it Mortal Kombat and he was pulled in as a fighter for Earthrealm. He was just defending his own backyard like any good cop would.
Kurtis had been gravely injured in Mortal Kombat, but had pulled through after a long recovery. He'd heard that Kabal was alive, but in the process of his own recovery, he'd lost all contact with him. When one spends long hours undercover or on a stakeout with a guy, you tend to get to know someone. He was going to miss Kabal.
Kurtis came into the squad room for the first time since he'd been injured. Turns out that Bruce Wayne helped take care of his medical bills and made it easier for him to rejoin the force. After the incursion of Outworld, a lot more people were taking notice. When Stryker came back, he found out that Poison Ivy had hooked up with Shang Tsung. Just sitting there at his old desk made him start to wonder if coming back was such a good idea.
On the edge of his desk was a picture of Kuris with Kabal at a New Years party in Gotham. Right after that Scarecrow set free a murder of crows that dropped fear toxin just as the new year rolled into Gotham. Kurtis loved the people of Gotham City. He nearly gave his life for them. The regular set of Rogues in Gotham were already a handful. Talk was that someone was getting the regular street thugs hooked on this new designer drug that had some odd elements to it according to the lab. Stryker's gut told him that there was only one couple that could be behind this. The addictive properties had to do with an exotic plant. Reading the reports, the thugs were all describing this weird Chinese guy as the supplier. It was Poison Ivy and Shang Tsung. He was sure of it. Shang Tsung and his goons weren't going to have their way in Gotham or anywhere on the planet if he could help it. The fact that Shang hooked up with Poison Ivy made it even more personal to Kurtis.
He nodded as his jaw set in grim determination. He wasn't going to give up. He couldn’t give up. He wouldn't give up. He was born to be a cop. Raiden proclaimed that his heart was devoted to Earthrealm. Stryker couldn't deny that. You had to be a special breed to be a cop. That was Kurtis Stryker. This last battle with the incursion of Outworld had nearly taken him out for good. He got a second chance. It wasn't going to go to waste.
He picked up his harness and strapped it into place. He was probably one of the few who knew Shang Tsung as well as he did. If he was operating out of Gotham targeting the Underworld, Kurtis was going to be right there in his face every step of the way.

MMM - The Scarecrow
What do you fear? What is fear?
I've asked myself that question countless times over the years. Even when I sat in my office looking at some poor soul as they spill their deepest darkest secrets to me, I wondered if turning their fears into reality would get them to truly experience fear on a primal level. Would they die from a literal heart attack? There was only one way to find out.
The first doses of my fear gas were small. I had to moderate just the right doses, you see. The concoction had to be just right. To watch the man with the fear of spiders start to claw off his own skin because he thought he was covered in spiders was glorious. The only bad part was having to get the blood off the floor later. Disposing of the body was easy enough. Suicide Slum was always full of scum and lowlife. What was another dead body to add to the mix?
The dosages increased. I watched one woman look me in the eye with the most pure form of fear I had ever seen. I forced her to look at me. I wouldn't let her leave my office. You could almost see her heart explode in her chest. The smallest doses over time saw her fears gradually increase. My notations on her chart were subtle and with plenty of double entendre. If something went wrong, then her records would be subpoenaed by the court. They couldn't know what I was doing. I had to hide it well. When she had a massive coronary, they were none the wiser. I was absolutely invincible.
Fear is my tool to do as I please. Rather than heal minds tormented by fear, I wanted to exploit them. They could have been cleared by your average psychiatrist within months. Who ever said I was average? I am Dr. Jonathan Crane. The cold hand of fear is far more deadly than any physical weapon. The manipulation I can do using my fear gas is spotless and leaves no trace in the blood. It also does not affect me. I've studied the work of Dr. Pamela Isley Shang in regard to poisons and how to form an immunity to them. She really is quite brilliant on the subject.
Like Icarus I flew too close to the sun with my wings. I still don't know how he did it, but The Batman found out what I was doing. My calling card was that of The Scarecrow. The simplest little creature that protected the cornfields of the world and stayed hidden in our psyche as the harbinger of fear and terror. He encountered me face to face when he brought me down. I used more massive doses of fear gas on him than I did anyone else. He showed no signs of any effects of the gas. He brought me down and he brought me down hard.
I sit here in this cell at Arkham in my own little corner of hell charged with multiple counts of murder all because I used the fertile fields of the human mind for my playthings. Batman, you're out there feeling pretty content that you have me locked away for the good of humanity. You know what they say. "Fear is the mind killer. " That happens to be true. You know what else is true?
I am fear.

The Calling [I/III]
The Calling 𝓞𝓵𝓮𝓪𝓷𝓭𝓮𝓻 /1849659 Wrapped in a sea of green, the earth herself was bulging. It started as a small little hill but it began to increase. It looked like a molehill at first until it kept going. The casual observer would be concerned to see a pocket of Earth growing exponentially for no real reason. Oh but there was always a reason. The earth never did anything needlessly. There was a spot now that was a virulent green. It was the size of a pitcher's mound in baseball. When it reached a crescendo, it exploded. Instead of sending a vast array of rocks and gasses outward, the earth crumbled away tp reveal a woman. It wasn't just any woman, in Gotham City, she was known as Poison Ivy, a member of the Gotham Rogues. She lay perfectly still for the moment. Her flesh was as green as the grassy mound that had sprung her. Her long crimson locks curled around her skin and down her shoulders. She was naked at first but the vines of the earth erupted forth covering her every curve ensuring that she was no longer bare. Crimson eyelashes unfurled as consciousness came to claim her once more. Full vibrant lips opened to drink in breath again. It wasn't oxygen she breathed but carbon dioxide. Young Pamela Isley had only just been Poison Ivy for less than a year. This new life was teaching her so much already. She slowly began to assume a standing position. Her bare feet curled in the grass that was so soft beneath her feet. A half smile turned her face slightly pleasant as she started to feel the connection growing. Every blade of grass, every tree, every budding flower was speaking to her and she could hear them. She extended her hands forward, willing them to come to her. She could feel the floral vines wrapping around her legs and inching up her body. They curled around her wrapping her arms as she curled her fingers. The Green came when she called and it would protect her. She started to walk in this area listening to the sounds around her. She was in the Swamp. Every step she took, the flowers sprung up to surround her feet cushioning each step. Never before had young Pamela Isley felt so alive! The vast array of Green sang a special song that only she could hear. It was the most angelic thing she'd ever heard. The tiny bugs and amphibians that dwelt in the water nearby were a profound part of this ambiance. Ivy made her way to the water's edge to see a tiny frog floating on a lilypad. She knelt slowly on one knee to get closer. She extended a solitary digit that was allowed to make contact with the amphibian. The frog did not move when she touched it. It instinctively knew she would not harm it. The purity and the innocence of this moment had not escaped her notice. "The Green calls out to you. Will you listen to her?" A voice interrupted her journey through the swamp. It was obviously male. "You are Nature's Guardian. You are one with Mother Earth. " He was taller than any man she'd ever seen before. He was once a man, she could tell. Now he was something more. She straightened her legs and regained her full height. The Green not only covered him, but was a part of him. Ivy took a step toward him. "You are no more human than I am." His human eyes in the middle of what looked like part of the swamp itself regarded her with cautious optimism. "Who are you?" She asked. "Once I was Alec Holland, but now, I am merely a part of the swamp as it's guardian. I answer to Swamp Thing." The plant monster man moved toward her, extending his arm. He pointed to the ground, taking notice of how the plants responded to her. "Your heart is full of love for Mother Earth. She has taken you as her avatar. What will you do for her?" Ivy looked down as Swamp Thing pointed to the ground at her feet. She glanced back up toward him with her head canted to the right. "Anything she wants, of course…" The ground began to rumble beneath their feet. Ivy lost her footing but managed to regain it easily. "That's good ta hear, Kid." Another man's voice came from to her left. He looked like a ghost with all white skin and an odd red uniform. "Gonna need some help over here." She was curious who the new man was, he wore an outfit like a high wire act in a circus which she found oddly fascinating. She could tell he wasn't exactly human and he wasn't a part of the Green either. "You're not like Alec and me are you?" He floated over to her. He wasn't touching the ground at all which was her biggest clue. "The name was Boston Brand. Most call me Deadman. No humans can see me, but since you and Alec aren't exactly human, that makes you two of the lucky ones." The ground rumbled again. Ivy nearly fell on her bottom, but was caught by the vines of the swamp. Swamp Thing answered. "Invaders. They are threatening to destroy the swamp." ".... among other things…." Deadman added. Ivy was not one to hesitate to kill. It's what landed her in Arkham more than once. "Not on my watch…" She spoke with a look of determination on her face. Mother Earth's avatar was ready to answer the call. TO BE CONTINUED. "I wanna taste you but your lips are venomous poison "

MMM - X-23 / Laura Kinney
Danger Zone They were at it again. Another crowd assembled in the heart of the city to address the issues of mutants among them. The girl looked like she was in her early 20s. She had long dark brown hair that trailed down her back. She was in the middle of this crowd listening to them spew their hate.
The recent heatwave had abated as the onset of autumn began to creep into play. Those attending this hate rally were wearing clothing that kept the slight chill in the air at bay. The girl watching them was wearing a light jacket, a pair of denim jeans and a pair of boots that seemed pretty sturdy. Her long brown hair hung freely about her shoulders. She had both hands shoved in her pockets and just stood there watching them for now.
"The mutant menace is among us once more!" The speaker got up to address the crowd from the podium. He looked like he hadn't missed any meals as the anti mutant bile kept coming from his mouth. She kept watching with growing rage as this tripe was being absorbed by the people all around. It was whipping them up into a frenzy.
Laura Kinney was treading on dangerous ground and she knew it. Inside her jacket, her fists were slowly clenching even tighter. The sounds of a struggle came from behind her. She whipped her head around to catch what was already on the wind. These thugs had a prize.
They had a mutant that couldn't hide like some of them could. It was a scraggly kid with blue fur and fangs. Almost looked like Hank McCoy but this was a girl and one quarter of his size. She looked like she was probably 13 or 14 at the most. They were trying to drag her to the podium.
Laura stuck out a foot to trip the thugs that were holding the girl. The girl broke free and ran away. The men started to scream at her for stopping them. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? THE MUTANT IS GETTING AWAY!"
Laura shook her head. "No she didn't. She's right here." She glared at them while pulling both hands out of her jacket pockets. Her claws came out when her fists clenched. She pointed them right at the thugs. That was when the fun really started.
The first man tried to just simply grab her arm. She jabbed her claws into his arm and yanked them back out violently sending him doubling over in pain with his arms saturated with rivers of blood. Another one started to charge her when she used the prone man as a springboard to kick the other in the face with her right foot claw extended. That claw made a deep gash in the man's face causing blood to pour from the opening. Laura stood there covered with blood and with both arms at her sides.
By this time, the general public had already run away screaming. Laura retracted her claws and took off herself before anyone could find her. She found the girl that she saved hiding in an alley all curled up kitten. "Y..you're like me?"
"Yeah." Laura gazed at the girl with a protective smile. "Let me take you somewhere where you won't be afraid anymore. Will you trust me?" It was an odd question to ask someone when you were covered in blood.
The girl nodded slowly. She had no place else to go especially since she looked like this. If there were others like her, she wanted to see them for herself.
Laura knew that looking for mutants who needed help wasn't going to be easy, but she had just proven she was the right person for the job. Seeing the relief in the young girl's eyes was all she needed to see.
