task one
“Can I crash here for a while? Until I find my own place?” It had been months since Tristan had seen his twin sister, Trinity, and while he hadn’t planned on moving to Baltimore permanently, the idea seemed rather appealing now that he was standing on his sister’s doorstep. Baltimore was never a city that Tristan had dreamed about moving to. He had never imagined that he would grow old in his hometown of Ohio, but Maryland? No. He’d pictured himself living his best life in somewhere like New York or California; in fact, he had for a while, but all those places lacked one thing that Baltimore had; his sister. Trinity was his best friend, his other half. They were twins and they had been there for one another since before they were even born, and he’d grown up making sure that she never got herself into too much trouble, so without her around, nothing felt the same.
Feeling the warm embrace from his sister, Tristan immediately responded to the hug. “I missed you, Trin!” he smiled before he slowly pulled back from the hug. He’d been on the road for just over a year as an opening act and living his dreams, but he wanted more than just to open for some well-known musician. He wanted to be the well-known musician, and after Nova had broken his heart and he had gone through a man whore phase, he’d decided that he needed to get his life sorted and settle down somewhere, anywhere, so Baltimore it was. He would focus on his music and work on becoming the person that he’d always dreamed of becoming. Tristan knew that starting a life somewhere else would be a challenge but nowhere felt quite as right as Baltimore. At least there he’d have his sister.
“So are you going to invite me in, or what?” Tristan asked with a cheeky grin as he turned and picked up his suitcase in one hand and his guitar in the other. He knew his arrival had been a shock for his sister, but he also knew that she’d never turn him away. “I won’t stay for long, maybe a couple of weeks while I find a place to stay. I have already arranged a couple of viewings for later this week,” he stated as he walked into his sister’s home and glanced around. “Where’s Mr Trinity? Working?” he asked, a smirk tugging at his lips as he placed the guitar case next to the sofa and walked into the kitchen. “Got any food? I’m starving!”
