I can't believe you hurt yourself, putting up the christmas decorations

The holidays were approaching quickly, and everyone at Hogwarts was getting ready for the holidays. Most students were helping the professors throughout the school. George loved seeing every one in a festive mood, as Christmas was his favourite. Not because of the gifts, but the holidays meant friends, family, food and decorations.

Fred was with Angelina after class on Friday. So that left George to do his own thing as he didn’t want to intrude on Fred’s time with Angelina. As George entered the common room, he noticed it was fairly empty. Students were either going to their dorms, or doing homework by the fire. But he also noticed Seamus Finnigan trying to decorate the Christmas tree the muggle way. George wasn’t surprised though, knowing that the younger male had grown up with his muggle father, even though his mother was a witch. He seems happy though, to do certain things without magic, like putting decorations on the huge tree that McGonagall had gotten for the Gryffindor common room.

Seamus was standing on a ladder, trying to get the lights onto the tree near the top as George approached. “Do you need….?” George started saying when all of a sudden the latter let out from under Seamus’s feet, making Seamus grab onto the tree, putting his weight onto it and it came crashing down on him “Oww” Seamus groaned. “That hurt” He muttered. George couldn’t help but to chuckle at the groan he heard from Seamus as he tried to wiggle out from under the tree.

“You know, you could use magic,” Ginny said as she sat on the couch by the fire. “And risk catching the tree on fire?” George teased the younger boy. Seamus shot George a smirk. “Yea yea” Seamus chuckled. “That actually hurt” Seamus added as he rubbed his back as George used his wand to put the tree back up.

“I can’t believe you hurt yourself putting up Christmas decorations” George said as he picked up some of the decorations and placed a few on the mantle above the fireplace “Fire, I expect from you, but not this” George said waving his wand at the tree and ladder in front of him.

“The ladder, apparently, doesn't want to stay still,” Seamus said as he grabbed the ladder and fixed it. “I like doing things the muggle way, especially decorating the tree” He said, making George smile a little. He’d have to see if his mother would let them decorate the burrow the muggle way sometime.

I swear if you die

The battle was raging all around him. Everywhere he looked, he could see injured, the dead, different battles going on. Every one was occupied with some one, whether it be an injured, helping someone fend off the death eaters or just trying to escape. George ran around a corner, out of the way of a spell. Leaning against the wall, he tried to catch his breath. Which he knew that it wouldn’t be long before the death eater that was after him actually got to him.

George dug through the bag he had. He would have to remember to thank Hermione later for showing him how to do the extension charm on his bag. He dug around and finally pulled out a powder. He smirked as he stuck his head out from where he was hiding. The death eater was just two feet from him. Throwing the powder, getting him in the face, making zits appear and the hair that got covered started growing. George cackled as he ran off.

As he ran, he spotted Ginny, his little sister, getting cornered. He headed towards the Carrow siblings plus another death eater. “How is this fair?” George called as he grabbed one of his detonators and threw it at the death eaters, making them scatter. “Three adults against a teen” He shook his headThe one death eater ran into the wall while Amycus blew the detonator up just as George basically tackled his sister to the ground to avoid her getting hurt from the detonator exploding.

George collapsed on his sister from the force of explosion. “George!” Ginny shrieked from under him as she tried getting herself free. She looked over to the Carrow siblings, and it looked like the explosion knocked them back to, both hitting the wall and going unconscious. “Serves you both right” Ginny muttered as she wiggled free. “Georgie” She said, as she tried to flip her brother onto his back, she leaned close to his face, hearing his breathing was shallow. “I swear if you die….” She started just as George started coughing.

“You swear if I die what?” George asked after sucking in a deep breath. “You’ll hex me in the afterlife?” He gave a chuckle but then winced in pain. “George, are you alright?” She asked him. He could tell that she was scared, by the tone in her voice. “I’m alright.” He made a face “Just in a lot of pain” Physically, he ached. His entire body was sore. He had been sore for a while, but of course, that damn Carrow had to blow up the detonator and cause an explosion, which George felt.

He sat up, wincing as he did. “Tour bleeding” Ginny said as she brought a hand up to his forehead, the redness of blood darker then his hair, which was noticeable. “It’s fine. I’ll deal with it later” George said as he carefully stood up. “We have to continue helping the others” He took a step and wobbled. “No. We have to find you a place to hide until you can recover” Ginny said as she helped support her brother.

“I’ll be fine” George said forcibly. He didn’t want to sit down. There was to much going on, to many people to help. He wasn’t going to admit he was in to much pain to sit down and take it easy, not when others needed their help.

It was that time of year, the grounds of Hogwarts were covered in snow. Enough snow that people were out once classes were done and sledding and playing in the snow. Which was always fun to do. Everyone was in a festive mood, with the holidays just around the corner. Even the twins were in for the festivities.

Once classes were out for the day, George and Fred ran to the common room to put their books away and grab their jackets, boots, mitts and hats then headed out to the courtyard. There were already people bustling about, throwing snow, attempting to make forts or making snowmen. George had always loved winter, the coolness, the snow, and on cold days, being able to sit by the fire with some hot cocoa.

George was about to move, when he was hit by a snowball, thrown by Fred, who was cackling as he went to hide from his twin. George chuckled as he grabbed snow, making it into a ball and went after his twin brother. They went back and forth for about twenty minutes before stumbling upon Katherine, Ginny and Hermione, who had started to make a snowball.

“That’s awfully big to be a snowball for throwing” George chuckled as the twins approached them. “We're not making snowballs for a snowball fight” Ginny said as she eyed her brothers, who were covered in snow. “We’ve decided to make a snowman” Katherine chirped happily as she took the snowball and started moving it around in the snow, getting bigger and bigger.

“This the bottom one?” George asked as he approached Katherine, who nodded as she pushed it. George helped push it, getting it big. He always loved making snowmen, he just wouldn’t admit that to anyone. But he found it relaxing.

After dealing with the bottom ball, George started in the middle as Katherine dealt with the one for the head. Ginny had ran off to get some things to put on for the eyes, nose and buttons. When George was done with the middle ball,he heaved it onto the bottom as Fred and Hermione packed snow around the bottom to help keep it in place. “Here!” Katherine squealed, rolling the head over and George heaved it on top of the one he did.

“Looking good so far” George said as Fre and Hermione once again packed snow onto it to hold the ball in place. George smiled at his friends and siblings. Getting along with them, making snowmen, made him happy. Everyone just saw him as the prankster and always assumed he’d mess something up with a prank.

Ginny handed him some stones and he made the face as she squeezed between him and the snowman to do the buttons along what would be the stomach. Once he was done, Katherine put the carrot for the nose and did the arms with twigs. “Looks great” George said happily as they all stood back to admire their snowman.

Drabble: Remembering

Even six years after the war, George still got nightmares. Though they weren’t as bad like they had been the first couple of years. Back then, they were bad, he’d been afraid to sleep, afraid that if he did, he’d wake up in a cold sweat or screaming because of them. Thankfully, his counsellor had helped George to get the help he needed with the nightmares. He was able to get back to sleep with the potion she had given him. Sometimes though, he’d take it just before going to bed if it had been a bad day for him.

His depression also wasn’t as severe as it had been. It took him ages to be able to cope with it. Sure, some days he’d be hit with it, but knew he could pull himself out of it. It helped that Hermione was there for him. She had been around for him since he separated from Angelina. An unexpectin relationship started between the bossy brunett and the Ginger twin.

George sat on his bed, thinking of everything since the war. A lot of time was spent feeling lost and trying to navigate through life, experiencing a lot by himself as Fred was no longer there with him. For so long, that had been the hardest thing for George, trying to live while he knew that Fred was no longer with him. It was hell for him for the longest time. But he made it, he got better, he was able to think of Fred without going crazy.

Fred would’ve been happy to see George with someone that made him happy. Hermione did that, which made George incredibly happy. They had been through so much since being together. Both afraid of being rejected, afraid of losing the other. It didn’t help that Mrs. Weasley frowned upon their relationship. It caused George to have anxiety around his mother whenever they were around the Burrow. Afraid of the snarky and rude comments that she would sometimes throw out at them. Ron didn’t help.

George saw the expressions his little brother threw at him. He knew it was going to happen the moment George declared to Hermione how he felt. But as time wore on, Ron finally came around to the idea that Hermione felt a different type of love for him and that she truly loved George the way Ron had wanted her to but didn’t any more.

The door closed, making George almost jump out of his skin. “George?” He heard Hermione called. “I’m home” George smiled as he got up off the bed, grabbing a present that he had on his night stand on his side of the bed. They were necklaces, one for Hermione and one for George. He had gotten so lost in his own thoughts that he abandoned wrapping it. “I’m in the bedroom Mione” George called as he put the box into the drawer just as Hermione walked in and sat next to him.

“Hey” George said softly as he wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling him to her. She looked at him and could tell that he had been in his own little world. “George” She whispered “I’m fine” He said as he kissed her gently. “I was just reminiscing that’s all”  He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulled her to him and rested his head on her shoulder. “Sometimes, especially this time of year, I get lost in remembering what's happened, of how much I….. we’ve overcome” he said as he felt Hermione run a hand through his ginger hair, feeling calm with her there.

“It’s times like this that I miss who we’ve lost, and wish they were still here with us, experiencing life with us” He felt his eyes get watery as he spoke. “But they're not. Which makes this time of the year so hard” He felt a sob escape. “But they are,” Hermione whispered as she pulled away slightly. “In here” She placed her hand on his chest where she could feel his heart thumping away. No matter what, the people we’ve lost, will always be here, in your heart, and in memory” All he could do was smile gently. She was right. But she was always right.

“I love you Hermione” He said quietly after they sat in a comfortable silence for a few minutes. “I’m glad that I’ve got you by my side, have this connection that we have.” He said “I know we’ve gone through so much together, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I can’t wait to get married and have our babies” He said as he put a hand on her stomach.

Slytherin Captain'

Why should I trust you after everything you’ve done?

George sat in the front row of the funeral. All he could do was stare at the coffin that held his twin brother, Fred. He wasn’t processing what was being said, not that he cared at the moment. He didn’t care what was going on around him. He just didn’t want to deal with today. But Mrs. Weasley insisted that George attend the funeral, say his last goodbye to Fred. Not that George really wanted to say goodbye to his twin. That made it all the more real to him, that Fred was no longer with him, with his family like he should be.

After about an hour, people were filing out of the court yard of Hogwarts and into the castle, which was still being rebuilt. But McGonagall had insisted on having the funerals at the school. Not that George wanted to be back there so soon. He had missed Tonk and Lupins funeral, but he had to attend Fred’s. Mrs. Weasley wasn’t having it when he repeatedly said no, not wanting to face the truth of Fred being gone.

George had sat for twenty minutes before Bill and Charlie finally managed to get the crying male to leave. He felt out of it, still having a hard time trying to process anything. He sat at the end of one of the tables, Firewhiskey in hand, when Marcus Flint approached him. The male stood there awkwardly, seeming like he wasn’t sure what to say. “If you have something to say Flint, just say it” George said flatley. He just wanted to go home.

“I just wanted to say” Marcus paused, like it was hard for him to say it “I just wanted to say I’m sorry about Fred” He finally managed to get out. “I know I wasn’t always the nicest, but I respect you two and what you managed to do with your shop” George eyed him suspiciously.

“Why should I trust you after everything you’ve done?” George asked as he looked up from where he sat. “After everything you’ve done, why should I trust you?” George asked. In school Marcus had put on the act of a Slytherin, but George didn’t know him well enough to know it was an act.

Marcus looked down then back to George “That’s fair” He said as he put his hands into his pockets. “I came today to pay my respect to Fred. and to you, you can accept what I say, or not, but I really am sorry for the loss of Fred” He said again, before leaving George alone at the table.

Drabble reply for Brilliantly Scary

With Christmas just around the corner, the shop was getting more and more busy as everyone was trying to get the things they wanted or needed for presents or things for celebration. George had been putting in longer hours trying to keep the products flowing and help as much as he could on the floor. But most of the time he was in the back room just to keep going with products. Maybe he should get the extra help. Sure, he had Verity, Lee Jordan and Ronald, but it was still time consuming.

George was exhausted, even trying his hardest to hide it from Hermione and the kids. He didn’t want them to worry about him. HE sighed as he sat on the couch, his head on the back of it. He thought Hermione was out since they didn’t have any of the kids, but then he heard her call his name. He looked up to see Hermione approaching the living room, with a gift in hand. He sat up straight, giving her his best smile.

“Hermione” He said as he looked at her then at the gift.  "I have something for you. I was going to wait until Christmas eve but you seem to really need cheering up so I want you to open it now.” She said to him, holding out the gift. “Hermione, just having you here cheers me up” George replied as he tried to give her the present back.

She was persistent on opening it. All too excited. "And before you say no to opening it? Shut up. Do it. I want you to open this!" She bounced up and down as he took the package from her with a big smile on her face before sitting down in front of him on the floor. "Well? What are you waiting for? Open it! And before you joke about me being bossy? Remember you seem to like that since you asked me to marry you." Her tone came out teasingly as she put her hands on his knees.

George couldn’t help but chuckle at her bissy comment. It was true, he did like when she got bossy. But that’s not a reason why he was marrying. Her bossiness definitely helped him in the times that he needed to get motivated, but there were so many reasons why he was marrying her. “Ok ok. Keep your knickers on, I won’t keep you waiting” George said after she asked if he was going to keep her waiting.

George unwrapped the box, soon taking off the lid to the box. His eyes went wide as he saw the stick. “Hermione is this….?” He couldn’t finish his sentence as he picked up the stick. It showed two little pink lines. He could only assume that meant she was pregnant, otherwise she wouldn’t be giving it to him. Then he noticed the ultrasound pictures. “You're pregnant? Your actually pregnant?” George exclaimed as he picked up the sonogram picture. He had tears in his eyes, so happy that she was pregnant with his child….. Or children by the looks of the sonogram.

“With twins!” He said happily. He could faintly make out two little toad-like things in the picture. He placed the box, pregnancy test and pictures on the coffee table and stood up, picking Hermione up and spun her around. Once he stopped he gave her a kiss. He was so happy and excited to be starting this journey with her. “How are you feeling? Can I get you anything? Or are you hungry?” He asked her as he set her on the couch.  He knew, just since she came into the living room that she was excited, and he was so excited to.

How could I ever trust you?

George was on his knees as he looked up at the God of Mischief. Loki had terrorized them, beaten them, and still expected them to follow him. Now George was bloody, beaten and being threatened. But he was still sticking to his gut, this wasn’t right, he knew better then to side with some one who terrorized people. “Come on, we could do great things if you helped me, '' Loki said as he sneered down at George.

George spat at Loki, blood flying out of his mouth “I will never side with you” George said through his teeth. The guard that Loki had holding onto George pulled at the chains holding onto George’s wrist, making them pull on his shoulders. George grunted at the pain, but never wavered. “I’d rather die than help you” George had been through battle before, he knew what the most likely outcome could be.

“But with your….. Pranks, which are great, can cause so much chaos in both worlds” Loki said with a smirk. “We could rule together, but the Gods of Mischief. I can help get you the status of a God” Loki promised the young wizard. “You have a brilliant mind. A mind that I would love to have at my side” He said “Plus your powers? A young wizard like yourself can do so much with your life if you join me. You can live for centuries”

George looked up at Loki. It was hard to see him. His left eye was nearly swollen shut. His right eye was having a hard time focusing on the man before him. George would gladly take a beating again to defend the people who didn’t deserve to be terrorized by Loki. “How can I possibly trust you?” It was a legit question. George took a beating for defending people, how could he possibly trust Loki?

The God just sneered down at George. “You could, if you joined me. I have never strayed from something that I’ve offered if the person willingly joined me” George shook his head, still refusing to join him. “Nothing ever good comes out joining the wrong side” George said. Just then George felt a smack across his face, causing him to cry out in pain. One of Loki’s minions had backhanded George for saying Loki’s side was the wrong side.

“Now now” Loki said “He’s allowed to have his opinion, even if it is wrong” Loki said just as George looked back at him. His cheek throbbed even more now. But he refused to give in. This wasn’t the first time he had been in a battle or captured, he was pretty sure it wouldn’t be the last time either.

Dynasty December prompt

George didn’t want to do Christmas this year. No one was in a festive mood this year. Even Mrs. Weasley was missing the spring in her step with festivities. She tried to be lively, to seem like she was in the festive mood. But George knew better, they all knew better then to believe Mrs. Weasley wasn’t at the top of her game like she usually were. This year has been rough. With the battle of Hogwarts, the deaths that came with it, it had taken its toll on the Weasley family, on Hermione Granger and Harry Potter.

George had grabbed a cup of tea from the kitchen and headed to the living room, where everyone was doing something silently. It was only the beginning of December, but there wasn’t much laughter at the Burrow like there had been every year before/ “What would everyone like for Christmas?” Molly asked as she arrived into the living room with her own cup of tea. Everyone looked at Mrs. Weasley like she was an alien, unsure how to respond. Most not even wanting to celebrate

What did George Weasley want for Christmas? HE looked down at the cup of tea that he held between his two shaky hands. What he wanted no one could simply buy. He wanted laughter. Sure, he could simply take something from his shop, it’ll get people to laugh. But not the belly laugh that had everyone on the floor. It’ll make people laugh, but not like it did before. He wanted everyone to feel normal. But how were they supposed to feel normal when normal is taken away? Normal being the entire family here.

Family. Tonks and Lupin. Fred. George looked at the clock that had a hand for every one, including Hermione and Harry. As he looked at the clock, his fingers found Fred’s hand that used to be on the clock. Fred was no longer here, neither was Tonks and Lupin. What did George want? George wanted Tonks and Lupin, they were part of the family. But most of all, he wanted them here for little Teddy, who would be growing up with his mother and father. Although Teddy was without his parents, he had his grandmother but also Harry and the Weasley’s. They all would make sure that little Teddy wouldn’t go without love and support. They’d all be there for him.

But most of all, what George wanted Fred back. His twin, partner in crime. Partner in the shop, the shop that they both worked so hard for. He missed Fred so much and never imagined life without him. They had spent twenty years doing almost everything together. Now George had to learn how to do everything by himself. Some days he felt like he was suffocating, the nightmares were never ending. His poor mother woke up in screaming fits for her son. Everyone looked at George with sadness because they all saw Fred in him.

What did George want for christmas? Nothing that money could buy but his brother, Tonks and Lupin. For laughter and fun times. He could feel the tears silently going down his face as he quickly left the living room to head to his room so he could have some privacy.

Drabble reply for Brilliantly Scary

George’s eyebrows furrowed together as he looked Hermione over as she said she’d be fine alone for a few hours since he was going out to have dinner with his children and ex-wife.  “I just want to make sure you are absolutely sure you're fine for a few hours” George said gently. He kissed her back, sighing softly as she ran a hand through his hair. She said it was fine, spending the night alone while reading. He kissed her gently, then left the flat. At the bottom of the steps he met up with Angelina, Fred II and Roxanne.

George was always finding ways to spend time with his children. He wanted to show that even though their parents weren’t together any more, that they could still work together, have a healthy friendship while co-parenting them. It was working out better when Angelina and George were together. Their relationship wasn’t healthy, it was toxic and unfair to the both of them. It had taken four years to realize that. It wasn’t an environment that they wanted to raise their kids in.

George knew, both him and Angelina had struggled since the war, since losing Fred. Both hoping to hold onto Fred in some way. They thought by being together, it would work. But it didn’t. George wasn’t Fred. He never could be his brother, even if he looked exactly like him. George was his own person, and has his own personality. Angelina only wanted George because of him looking like Fred. After years of struggles, and Mrs. Weasley about their relationship being unhealthy, they both agreed it was better to end it before it got worse. They were better off as friends, managing to co-parent quite well.

As the night wore on with Angelina and the kids, it was easy now to reimence about Fred without completely breaking down. Sharing stories to the kids about their late uncle and the shenanigans the twins had had the kids roaring with laughter. It felt great to be able to do this. Was this how Hermione and Ron were with Hugo and Rose? George’s mind wandered to Hermione as the table got quiet as they ate their dinner.

Was Hermione and Ron’s friendship better now that they weren’t together? Was their co-parenting of his niece and nephew going well? Was Hermione even happy with him? HE tried to remind her every day how much he loves her, how grateful to have her and allshe’s done for him. Does she feel the same way about him? Some days he felt guilty for the fact that he was with Hermione. Granted, she wasn’t with Ron any more, but every one had never anticipated George and Hermione to get together as both couples got divorced. Hell, George never anticipated it either.

Their relationship was a healthy one. Sure, they argued and fought, but always managed to make it up to each other afterwards, always working out their problems. Every day George told Hermione how much he loves her. He knew her insecurities got the better of her some days. Some days he wondered if they would have children of their own. Don’t get him wrong, he loves all his children. But sometimes he wondered if Hermione would like to have children with him. He knew he would love to have children one day with her, when she was ready to. And if she wasn’t, then that was fine with him.

A few hours later, supper was winding down. They had dessert and talked about how things were going in both homes. George missed the nights of talking to the kids and reading to them. But having them at the flat made George cherish them and their time even more. After everyone was done, George paid for their meal and they were heading out.

After making sure Angelina and the kids were safely home, George apparaited to the front of his shop. He headed in quietly, unsure if Hermione had dozed from reading in bed. He got to the door, only to hear soft sobs from his room. He was curious but confused as to why he heard her sobbing. “Hermione?” George said quietly as he opened the door. It was dark in their room as he approached the bed. His hand extended to her shoulder, frozen as he heard what she had to say. Eventually her words were cut short as she froze. It looked like fear crossed her face as she realized it was him. Who else would it be? Harry? Oh…. She had called Harry while he was out with Angie and the kids.

“Hermione” George said gently, Hermione dipped her head to avoid eye contact with him. “Hermione, look at me please” HE said in his gentle tone. When she wouldn’t willingly look at him, he used a finger on her chin to make her look at him. “Your feelings aren’t illogical. Or unvalid” He said. “You have every right to feel the way you do” He smiled softly at her. “No matter what the amount of time I spend with Angelina, will never make me go back to her” HE said. “What happened with her and I wasn’t meant to be. It wasn’t a healthy relationship”

George wrapped his arms around her waist and brought her to his lap. “We have worked so hard for far too long for this relationship. We are here, together, because of how much we fought for it” He kissed her cheek. “Don’t shove down your insecurities. I love everything about you, even those insecurities. I don’t want any one else'' He grabbed his wand and flicked on the light so she could see him. He could see tears trickling down her cheeks, using a thumb he wiped them away.

“I want nobody else. No one can compare to how I feel for you” He hugged her tightly. “No matter what life throws at me, I want no one but you to tackle what’s thrown at me. I will be by your side no matter what. No matter what is thrown at you, I'm here. For the good and the bad, the ugly and beautiful. I love you more than anything Mrs. Hermione soon to be Weasley” He smiled when that got a small laugh from her. He meant every word he said. He’d be here for her, at any moment. He would help squash her insecurities when it comes to him

I didn’t mean to hurt you

To say that the last three months has been rough is understatement. It was hell. No matter what George did, he was in the wrong. He was used to feeling low, it was normal. His mother always belittled him for the things he did, the pranks and jokes, even commenting that his joke shop wasn’t something he should be doing. He had learnt at a young age to put on a mask, pretend that everything was well. But since the war had ended three months ago, it was hard to put on that mask that everything was fine.

He had fallen into a depression, sinking into despair. He felt like he was spiraling out of control and had no idea how to get out. Everyone was in a depressed state and trying to move on. George just felt stuck and unsure what to do. He hadn’t expected to lose Fred. He expected to lose people, lose friends, but didn’t expect to lose from his immediate family. Now what was he supposed to do?

George had been sitting in the law, doing nothing in particular, even though he had parchment, ink and quill. His mother had said sometimes it’s easier to write a letter, even if the letter doesn’t get to that person, it helps to get it off of his chest. So George had decided to write a letter to Fred, to help him move on. But George hadn't been able to do it. He didn’t know where to start.

“George” HE heard from behind him, making him jump. He turned quickly to see Ginny approach him. “Hey Gin,” He said softly. “Seriously. You have to do something” She started on him. “You’ve been in this state for months” She stopped in front of him as he stood. “You're not the only one who lost someone in the battle” Ginny continued. “Everyone is finding it in them to move on. SO can you”

George looked surprised at Ginny. She wasn’t always like this. Had he gotten that bad that Ginny of all people was snapping at him? “Mum lost Fred too. Not just you, we all did” She crossed her arms.

Hurt flashed across George’s face. “Easy for you to say” George snapped. “Everyone has someone at their side to help them. No one bothers to look at the twin without pity” He shook his head. “Everyone expected me to be the same person I was before. Everyone expects me to crack jokes all the time” He looked at her with sad eyes. “Everyone doesn't want to seem to think that the person who made people laugh may need someone by his side to. SO thanks Ginny, for the reminder that I’m alone while you and everyone else has some one there for them”

Ginny’s jaw went slack at the sight of her brother, sad, hurt, angry. He didn’t snap, like at all. For him to do this, to snap at her, he was hurting pretty bad. She hadn’t thought of those things “I’m sorry George” She said as she tried to reach for him, but he stepped back. “I never meant to hurt you” She whispered as she tried again to reach for him. “You never meant to hurt me?” He said as he gave a humourless laugh “Yet you came waltzing down here to give me an ear full”

George shook his head “It’s nice to know where I stand with everyone” HE scooped up the parchment, quill and ink, then apparated away to his flat. Where he could be alone, without having everyone look at him like he was pathetic, when all he needed was someone to be by his side.
