01/13/2021 11:36 PM  FAQ What is Hogwarts United? HU is an environment that allows you to picture your own character as a Hogwarts student. From sci-fi to SPN, from crime to comics; we have members from most of the genres and we wait for you to join us! All you need is to get creative and twist your character’s backstory a little. And a Discord account! Are there roles to fill or do we join with an existing character? Both! Or you could also join with a headcanon of any fandom. Say, we want to join with a canon but do not have this character already. Do we have to make a new account for the character? Absolutely not. It’s all up to you. How often do we have to post? Whenever you can! How often do we have to be online? At least once in a month. You just let us know if you do not feel the muse OR can’t find time to roleplay your character for over 3 weeks. We put your character on break and wait for your return. But if you don’t return for over 6 months, we may recruit a new person for your spot. But that’s pretty laid-back. Is this group really active? Daily sl posting average: 3 Banter: Active throughout the different times of the day, thanks to being home to writers from 7 countries all across the globe. There are at least 3 members online at any hour of the day, you'll enjoy it! How many members are there? 55 And about 20 of them are highly active. The chances for loneliness drops almost to zero. You so so rarely might get bored. For how long you were around? First established in 2010. So you play your characters between the ages 11-18. How old are you guys as writers? We are averaged 30.9 The youngest is 25+. Is there drama? A LOT - but only IC. OOC drama has never happened in the group, not even once. If one feels like a treat to happy setting, this person will be warned first then be removed from the server. I have a canon HP character but you guys do Founders era. May I still join? Of course! Just write as if you're in your great great x 10 grandpa/grandma then you shall be good :)) What should I be prepared for....at worst? The era is home to supremeracists (where pure-bloods despise those who are not), witch hunts, cults and medieval traditions in many areas which may bring disturbance at first. There are storylines where you can join in those sense or choose not to, so there is nothing to stress about. However, there are students who bully the half-bloods/muggle-borns in the storyline. They are extremely nice ooc and if you feel uneasy at some point, you may ask them to stop. We are all adults here. Noone will continue a story which makes you feel bad ooc.(guaranteed) Are we allowed to use our spn skills / or write as an angel/demon? Unfortunately, you are not. As twisted as the sl is, we do not allow anything that can disregard the world Rowling has created. However in her world there are also half-breeds being: Veela, merefolk, vampire, werewolf, shapeshifters (animagus). As long as you follow the rules of J.K.Rowling you may join us as being one of them! Are you looking for teachers? It's the Founders era. At such times Founders are known to train their own students. We don't accept direct applications for teachers. Only our graduates are allowed to come and teach as a visiting scholar at Hogwarts for specific classes. 0 Comments

I had a bad experience in the past with one. I auditioned to Hogwarts United, literally cringing as I hit send on the messages, thinking, "What am I doing? I'll either not be accepted in, or not be accepted once I get there. My little OC is not good enough to run with the rest." I have never been happier to be proven so wrong! In fact, one of the very first things said to me in chat when I first entered was along the lines of: "I like this one. We must protect her!" and "Amanda? .....we are going to adopt you. Hogwarts is a home after all. You'll have family here." That is all my little OC (who is an Irish orphan half-blood for this verse) could have ever wanted. The rest is just icing on the cake. HU is a melting pot of characters, and every single one I've met has been amazing! I knew a few already but the moment I entered, I was treated like part of the family- a weird combination yet totally awesome fandom-mishmash family. I love that it's diverse! There's characters from Marvel, Sherlock, The 100, LOTR, GoT, Doctor Who and so much more, but the way they write and the way it feels in here, it's like they were all ever only Hogwarts students. They are all helpful with this newbie just starting out in HPverse, and tolerant of my million questions. I look forward to every reply, reading everything written and hate missing things. I could join with my current character. Since Levy is from an anime that was all about magic, this had me think about auditioning. I finally worked up the courage to submit a sample for my audition. They let a time traveling alien with nothing but shenanigans up her sleeves in, and turned her into a witch. Really it is an amazing concept to take characters from any verse and then Hogwartify (not a word…but I am using it) them. It is so much fun and the peeps are really kind and role with the left turns I throw their way. On top of them being fantastic roleplaying wise there are amazingly understanding when it come to OOC. Everyone has lives outside of the internet (I know it shocked me too 0,0). So not only do they make it a no stress time wise reply environment they are also understanding when you have to take a hiatus. I was out for a month and half for surgery. They kept my seat warm and I was given so much love upon my return. I would absolutely and whole heartly recommend this group. Here is the concept: The idea is that you don't create a character but join Hogwarts with your existing character's traits and personality regardless of your verse. Imagine you are switching verses of your character. You just write her/him as a Hogwarts student. Pick your house, pick your year and TA-DA, you are a wizard Harry. Sounds good enough? Send us a message and learn more about it! DISCORD RPG PS. RPG consists of Novella writers, however since it is Discord and life is quite busy, we will limit the length to multi-para. Even though we won't be doing novella, we will need to see your writing skills with a novella sample to make sure you are capable of novella - and can write one if the situation requires. Timeline We roleplay the Founders Era - meaning medieval ages circa 1000 AD. If you do not have the enough knowledge about the era, don't worry.. After a while, you'll keep up! Just leave modern setting, technological devices out. Who needs them anyway while you have magic! Are there other ways to join other than using my own character? You can also fill a premade role for the group or join as any canon character of a tv show/film/book/game. You can also join as an original character made for a fandom.
