Human Nature Intro Tw: Death

Human Nature

mention: Hiram Lodge TW: Death
“Paging Dr. Lockwood. Paging Dr. Lockwood to 4 west!” Tyler Lockwood was in the Physicians Lounge looking at his reflection in the mirror. He had a head full of dark black hair that he often admired. He'd actually seen something that bothered him. He wasn't even 40 yet. He couldn’t believe he'd actually seen gray hair! He had an image to maintain. “Paging Dr. Lockwood!”

Tyler grumbled at the reflection in the mirror. Duty called and he had no time to look for this supposed blemish. Maybe it wasn't even there anyway! He started out the door and headed in the direction of the patient ward on the fourth floor.

~*~

The Four West Nurses’ Station was at the nexus of two of the busiest areas in the whole hospital. Four West was a General Medical floor while Four East was an area for Surgery patients. Riverdale General Hospital catered to Riverdale and Greendale as a general rule which meant high patient numbers. Tyler constantly had this drilled into his head by the hospital administrator Hiram Lodge. Tyler was one of the leading physicians in the area so that meant that his patient count was high. He even had an office in the hospital itself.

As soon as the nurses made eye contact with him, they started to approach him. He felt the tension rise up in the pit of his stomach with each nurse that came within his orbit. As they kept talking to him, he occasionally could feel himself screaming internally. There were so many increasing numbers of patients that were reporting the same type of symptoms. They were fever, coughing, chest congestion followed by a distinct rash pattern on their bodies. The rash didn't resemble smallpox or anything of the sort. The fact that the patterns were consistent with patients with no real connection had him baffled. “Continue the treatment as ordered with an increase in dosage of hydrocortisone in the ointment for the rash.” He told the nurse who nodded and went about carrying out his order.

There had to be some connection between these people and the fact they all had the same disease. It wasn't something as innocuous as the measles. Tyler assumed that there was something far different at play here. So far to his knowledge, no one had died from these symptoms. He was doing everything he knew to do in order to keep anyone from dying who was affected. “Get me all the patient charts who have the same symptoms. It might be time to officially rule this an epidemic.”

Tyler sat down in the doctor's dictation room in 4 West waiting for the charts to be brought to him. Riverdale and Greendale both had patients that had these same issues. There had to be a connection somewhere. He had to pour over each chart until something hit him. There had to be something there they weren't seeing.

Each of the charts he read all had nothing out of the ordinary. He kept reading each one until the words all started to run together. He stopped for a moment to rub his aching eyes with his fingertips. This was getting him nowhere. He was about to give up when the alarm sounded for a Code Blue. “CODE BLUE 4 WEST ROOM 488. CODE BLUE 4 WEST ROOM 488. CODE BLUE 4 WEST ROOM 488.” Tyler dropped everything and ran.

The patient in Room 488 was a Caucasian Female age 54 that presented with all the same symptoms the others later complained of in their own right. She however was the first one to complain. Right now the CODE BLUE Team was working on her trying to revive her heart after it had stopped. Tyler stepped in there with the command of the doctor in charge. “Ready paddles.” He ordered the tech. Tyler stepped in and listened for heartbeat and respiratory function. There were none. He stepped back. “Now!”

The steady beeping sound of the heart monitor still sounded with the flatline. The shock had brought about one beep but still a steady sound after that. He stepped in again to listen. “Again!” He stepped back to allow the techs to try again. Still there was no answer. Tyler had to give it one more try.

After the third failure, he had to stop it. The measures weren't working. He declared the patient dead. This ate away at Tyler's guts. If he couldn’t stop this epidemic, this mother of two adult children wasn't going to be the first one to die. This was going to stop, no matter what it took. Losing patients was never acceptable to him. Tyler hated a lot of things but most of all, he hated to lose.

Shipwrecked

Shipwrecked

intro post
Ireland had been an amazing place to visit. Tyler Lockwood had received his inheritance from the death of his parents and immediately booked passage out of the States. The first place he could think of going was Ireland. With all the pubs there, he wasn't going to stop. He wanted to drink himself into a stupor which is exactly what he did. You just had to love Ireland. Tyler Lockwood certainly did.

The young Lockwood heir had been born a wolf, but he did not find out about werewolves until he accidentally killed a girl during one of his drunken parties in Ireland. The spilling of blood had turned him into a monster with the first full moon after he'd spilled innocent blood. He had to find some answers, so it was time to go back home.

The RMS Titanic was leaving Southampton, England to go to New York. Tyler knew he had to be on it. That's when he started the process to get back home. His substantial wealth and influence was able to secure him passage in one of the staterooms. He exited the taxi that brought him to the dock. The young heir was dressed in the finery of the day. The employees of the White Star Line were quick to take his bags and load them onto the ship. Having money was certainly an advantage in this day and age.

Tyler took a few steps to admire the vessel. She seemed sturdy enough. It was said that God Himself couldn't sink this ship. After looking it over from the outside, Tyler actually was prone to believe it. He did notice another thing as he turned his attention to the gangplank. There were quite a few lovely ladies all around. Ever since he'd become a full fledged werewolf, he'd been more acutely aware of women when they were around. He liked girls before, but now he really liked girls.

He started up the gangplank until he had to hand off his boarding pass to a White Star employee. The employee was a young man with a mop of dark black hair that was trimmed perfectly. His sapphire hues visually scanned the Boarding Pass. “Thank you Mr. Lockwood. Have a wonderful voyage.” The young man handed the pass back to Tyler and a key to his stateroom. “Just follow the signs to find your stateroom.”

Tyler took the pass back and stuffed it inside his pocket. “Thank you.” He watched carefully as a group of about 5 girls passed by him as he stood there. “Yeah. I'm sure it will be…fantastic.” He smirked as he started to make his way onto the Deck. Were all the beautiful women in the world on this ship?

He was strolling broadly, not caring who saw him when he did. The logical thing to do would be to make his way to his stateroom. Given the time he took to examine the vessel from the outside and the steps to Boarding he took, they should have his bags in there. He pulled the key out of his pocket. It had A-37 printed on it in bold type on the tag. He wrapped his fingers around the tag itself. He began his stroll in the direction of the staterooms looking for that particular one. It was a lovely day for a stroll.

Merry Krampus

Merry Krampus

attn: Liv, Caroline, Alaric / mention: Lizzie
This whole thing was making Tyler more and more agitated. Why was just only select students missing and why did it have to be at Christmas of all times? Growing up Lockwood meant there were parties all the time every holiday season. It was just another reason for his mom to get drunk and his dad to chase skirts. Christmas didn't have the meaning for him that it did for the others like Caroline and Elena. He was happy however because he was going to spend the holiday with Liv until this happened.

Caroline and Alaric were here now which was good. Seeing the look of relief on Liv's face meant the world to Tyler. He immediately went to the woman he loved more than life itself and wrapped his arms around her. He didn't care who was watching or what anyone had to say. He just needed to feel Olivia Parker in his arms again. When she was in his arms, everything bad just melted away. Lizzie was still missing though and she needed to be found. Christmas wasn't going to be perfect if they didn't have everyone there.

Tyler released his hold on Liv but still stood beside her. They were not going to be separated no matter what happened. Ty was not going to allow it. He looked around for MG but apparently the young man took his crew and went looking for Lizzie on their own again. He looked at the other adults in the room. “We've looked everywhere. There’s no sign of Lizzie anywhere. I've sent the wolves out looking for her on the grounds itself.”

Tyler refused to believe that Lizzie or the others who were missing were dead. “The locator spell would work as long as she's still in Mystic Falls right?” He was trying to be as hopeful as possible. Tyler was ready to do anything else asked of him by anyone in the room.

He felt a small tug on his jeans. It was Pedro the littlest witch at the school. Pedro was small but he was intelligent and resourceful. Tyler knelt down to be eye level with Pedro so he didn't have to look down on the kid. “Coach Lockwood. You're gonna need this to do a locator spell. We were close to learning about how to do them when winter break started.” He handed Tyler a scarf that he'd actually seen Lizzie wearing before everything started falling apart.

Tyler was excited to get the scarf from Pedro. He gladly took it. “That's a very big super hero thing you did Pedro. I'm sure that Santa will give you an extra big present for helping us find Lizzie.” He stood back up and handed the scarf to Liv. It looked like something that Liv might have bought for Lizzie but he wasn't sure. He wasn't a fashionista or anything of the sort.

When the coach handed the scarf to Lizzie's aunt, Pedro was pleased with himself for helping. Mentioning Santa only made him grin bigger. He started to skip out of the room to see if there was anything else he could do. He wouldn't be far so the others could find him if they needed him. It was always funny to him how the adults sometimes overlooked him. Maybe someday they won't do that anymore.

Tyler looked at Liv after he handed her the scarf. “Is there anything else you need? You can use my office in the gym or the gym itself if you need it.” It was time to get Christmas back on track again no matter the cost.

Fear Everything

Fear Everything

attn: Liv, Landon, Katherine / mention: Klaus, Kol
The power and strength of a werewolf was returning to Tyler. He could feel his strength go back to normal levels for him. He didn't feel like a wounded puppy anymore. He was ready to take on Klaus if need be. To prove it, he even flexed his right arm making a muscle again because he felt better. “Who knew Katherine Pierce would actually do something right for a change?” Tyler still didn't trust her as far as he could throw her.

Bill was over discussing improved security concerns for the Armory when someone handed him multiple messages. The older blonde gentleman read the papers and glanced back at the woman who handed it to him. “Are you sure about this?” He asked. The woman nodded. He knew their sources were never wrong. Even in a world like this, Bill's agents in NOLA were effective. They were in the heart of hell after all. He took a few steps toward Tyler, Liv and Landon being sure to keep Tyler between him and Katherine Pierce. The Armory knew her well after all these years and what she would do could amount to anything.

Tyler was worried about the look on the man's face. “Okay. Spill it. What's going on?” He knew there was a network of Armory agents in New Orleans working against Klaus and Caroline. Klaus was the Great Evil. Anyone named Mikaelson couldn't be trusted.

“Our source on Crescent land says that those hiding there are getting restless with the amount of new people showing up. It's causing a lot of minor skirmishes to break out. The general word in the street is that Kol Mikaelson is on some sort of warpath. Jeremy Gilbert was last seen close to Kol.” Bill read off the information to Tyler, Liv and Landon. He couldn’t stop Katherine from hearing it. Given that she had no love lost for the Mikaelsons historically speaking, maybe she'd actually be willing to help.

Tyler furrowed his brow. He wasn't worried about Kol. Jeremy always had his number. It was Klaus that concerned Tyler. “Okay. My gut tells me that Klaus is the reason why there is something happening back on Crescent land.” He took Liv's hand. “I have a cabin there that has room for you.” After his fingers laced through hers, he looked at the kid. “I've always wanted a little brother.”

Tyler waited for Katherine to make some sort of snide remark. If she wanted to help him, she'd be willing to go to Crescent land and not be too much of the bitch she normally was.

Bill was concerned about two of his top agents. Tyler was here and about to commit to a possible alliance with one of the most evil vampires that the Armory had ever documented. He hadn't heard from Jeremy Gilbert in weeks. The close proximity to Kol worried him. He leaned over to one of his adjutants. “Get out there and find Jeremy Gilbert. Watch out for Kol Mikaelson. He's more of a loose cannon than his half-brother.” The young man nodded and took off as he was ordered.

Tyler waited for the others to answer him. He trusted Liv with his life. Asking her to live with him as his mate was a big thing to this wolf. Tyler didn’t know Landon but the kid needed him. He didn't smell like a vampire to him and he doubted the boy was a witch. It was time to basically sh!t or get off the pot. It was one of his dad's favorite euphemisms but this time the old horny bastard was right.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!

attn: Connor
It was the Christmas season once again. Caroline had wanted to have a big party with all the trimmings. Who was he to ever tell her no? One of the conditions of this party was a Secret Santa. This was all fine and dandy until Tyler got the name. Connor. Tyler didn’t know the guy from Adam so he decided to do a little research.

There were multiple guys around that he knew that were super smart and knew everything. One of those guys was Rupert Giles. Giles was British. Buffy also told him that Giles was a librarian so that made him really smart. Tyler wasn’t exactly a dumb jock but he wasn't the smartest guy in the room either. He had encountered a lot of people in his life, but he just never met this Connor guy. Tyler hopped in his truck and took off heading to the Magic Shoppe.

Tyler arrived at the Magic Shoppe in no time at all. “Mr. Lockwood! Quite an honor to see you. What can I do to help you this day?” Giles reminded him a lot of Alaric. He was an older gentleman with serious blue eyes and brownish hair that was short and neat. He seemed really happy to see Tyler that day. Maybe it was because he knew what Tyler was and it wasn’t exactly human. When Tyler was around magical people, he could feel the hair on the back of his neck stand on end. It wasn’t a warning sign. It was just a heads up that this person wasn’t exactly human either.

Tyler started bouncing around on the balls of his feet. “So you heard about the Secret Santa thing that Caroline was doing right? Well I got the name of somebody that I don’t know all that well. Apparently you do.”

Giles adjusted his glasses focusing on the face as the younger male who was indeed a hell hound. “Oh really? I’d be delighted to help you. Who is this individual?” Giles was always one to help those especially on the side of good. Tyler Lockwood was definitely one of those people.

“It’s Connor. I’ve been told that he’s Angel’s son. Personally I don’t know how 2 vampires can have a kid. It was already crazy enough to me when Caroline started carrying the twins and how that worked.” Tyler rubbed the back of his neck trying to figure it all out but hitting a brick wall.

Giles ‘s eyes widened. He smiled gently. “Oh yes! I’m quite familiar with the lad. I won’t go into specific details about his birth but suffice it to say it was magical indeed. So you mentioned the Secret Santa that Caroline was sponsoring am I correct?”

Tyler nodded in response to the question asked him by Giles. “What do I get a guy I’ve never met? Money is no object. So don’t worry about that, okay?” Tyler didn’t want to look like an idiot bringing something to the guy for Christmas that he didn’t know and the guy wouldn’t use. Coming to Giles was the logical answer for him so he didn’t seem like a complete moron.

Giles thought for a moment before disappearing into the back room. He came out with an exquisite silver kris dagger that was shaped like a dragon. it was mounted on a wooden stand so that Tyler wouldn’t have to touch the silver itself. Silver and werewolves or hell hounds didn’t tend to end up well. “This is a silver dagger from ancient Celtic druids around the time of King Arthur. For someone like Connor, he could use this in his battles against evil or he could use it for show.”

Tyler knew immediately it was silver. He was glad he didn’t have to touch the blade itself. It looked really cool. It actually looked kind of badass. “I’ll take it!” He started to pull out his wallet to hand Giles his credit card. “I appreciate the help!”

“No trouble at all lad. I was glad to be of assistance.” Giles fixed up the purchase and even wrapped it as a gift. “And here you are Mr. Lockwood. Merry Christmas to you!” He told Tyler.

“Merry Christmas Mr. Giles!” Tyler took the package and headed for this Christmas celebration. He hoped that this one was going to be the best one yet. He was pretty confident it was because he had Liv back in his arms again. That made it better than anything imaginable. If he could spread some joy to Connor and make a new friend in the process, it was another complete win in his eyes.

The Purge

The Purge

attn: Liv and Luke
Carter and Smallwood were high fiving each other as they continued on down the road past the Salvatore school. Small wood had seen Tyler Lockwood in his truck turning end over end into a ditch. These two obviously human men were glad to finally get an upper hand on the spoiled brat son of the man who was mayor for so long in Mystic Falls.

In Mystic falls sounding families were everything. Tyler Lockwood was the star wide receiver on their high school football team. he got all the good looking girls. He never had to pass a class. His status as the only son of the mayor was his meal ticket to get anything he wanted, when he wanted and however much he wanted. To find out the entire Lockwood family were werewolves was further insult to injury to men like D*ck Carter and Caleb Smallwood. Here was Hiram Lodge offering them all a chance to kill someone like Tyler Lockwood and not face recompense. By all that was holy, they were going to take it. Carter started to turn his truck around. It was time to find that dog and put him down once and for all.

Tyler’s left eye opened and then his right eye. He was still trapped in the front seat of his truck. All around him were the sides of a ditch. He reached for the door handle next to him and attempted to open the door normally. The door wouldn’t open. He took a moment to try and remember what happened. Those two blockheads; Carter and Smallwood had run him off the road. He had no idea just how much time had passed. Liv was likely waiting for him at the Salvatore school or at least he hoped she was. He reached up to touch his forehead. By now the blood had dried in his hair and his werewolf healing abilities and kicked in taking care of the gash on his forehead.

He started to fumble around for his cell phone. Tyler found it but it was dead. He grumbled a few expletives slamming the phone down against the bent console that was obviously indented with his forehead. As a werewolf, he could in theory push the door open using his strength to set himself free. But even the laws of physics still had the bend to the fact that he could not get his truck door open. No matter how much strength he would use he still couldn't get it to budge.

The tail end of his truck was sticking out of the ditch. He was approximately 2 miles from the entrance of the school. As soon as anyone clear the driveway they would be able to see his truck and if position of distress. Tyler decided that he would try to exit the rear of the truck and climb out of the ditch that way. The problem arose that when Tyler climbed out of the front seat and headed toward the back of the truck his weight caused the truck to shift. Tyler was in a real bind and he needed help. He knew that those two who had tried to kill him would be back. He had no idea what was going on outside of the ditch because his vision was obstructed.

Carter was excited because they were pulling up closer to where Lockwood was trapped in a ditch. They stopped their truck and both of them exiting the vehicle. they both had shotguns at the ready that have been given to them by the agents in the employ of Hiram Lodge. Carter and Smallwood were ready to put the dog down once and for all.

Fear Everything

Fear Everything

attn: Liv, Landon and Katherine / mention: Klaus
The voice of the young man made Tyler smile. It was good to know that Landon Kirby was alive and well. To hear Liv begin to speak about protecting him made him ruffle a bit. There was no way he was just going to sit here while he could be out there helping all those who were in trouble. He was about to sit up and say something when there was a ruckus.

Several of the Armory agents had said something amount Elena Gilbert being at the front door so they allowed her entrance. Elena Gilbert was known as a friend and someone that they could rely on given the current situation of the world. It didn’t take long for the person they thought was Elena to show that she was actually Katherine. Tyler immediately started to growl. His eyes flashed a gold hue. His fur started to prickle. It was a good thing that he had control over his change. “Damned doppelgangers!”

It was like Katherine to waltz into a place and start threatening everyone just to get her away. Tyler wanted so badly to just get up and rip her throat out without a second glance. His physical condition was not at its best, so that was just not going to happen. He had a Gemini Coven witch and a phoenix right here watching over him. There was also a room full of Armory agents ready with weapons pointed right at her.

Tyler listened to what she had to say. She was a conniver and a schemer right to the end. There was no way that she could be trusted. What choice did he have? Tyler reached for the cup with the vampire blood and downed it. His face wrinkled in disgust as the blood hit his tongue. He could feel the healing already making him stronger.

He reached for his girlfriend’s hand and tightened his grip firmly just to let her know that he knew what he was doing. He also motioned to the Armory agents to lower their weapons. The vampire had them over a barrel. It was her game now. “At the first sight have you turning on us, I’m going to have Liv spell you to the floor and I’ll rip your throat out myself. Are we clear?” He was looking right at Katherine with a slight hint of his fangs bared and the golden flash in hie eyes.

Bill approached him with a look of worry on his face. The fact that Katherine Pierce was able to walk through their doors alarmed him. He was going to have to have a stronger protocol for his operation in New Orleans. That meant that this whole base was compromised. If she had found them so easily, it was entirely likely let Klaus Mikaelson already had them on his radar. He would wait until Tyler, Olivia and Landon were gone before he started the evacuation procedure. Fortunately the Armory had plenty of backups in place.

Tyler knew that look on the older man's face. He nodded slowly add to the older man attempting to show him that this situation was under control. Tyler was on the radar of the Original Hybrid and he knew it. He also had learned a few things from the time that he spent as Klaus ‘s lackey. He looked back toward Olivia and took her by the hands. “I can’t ask you the come with me but I hope you will. I need someone I can trust to keep an eye on her.” He motioned with his head toward Katherine. “Landon? Are you coming too buddy?”

Prison World #3

Prison World

attn: Charlie, ANYONE ELSE
Tyler kept driving in Mason's Jeep. He didn't know how many laps he'd done around town at this point. He was just looking for any signs of life anywhere. The sights around him still bore some resemblance to what he remembered growing up in the 90s. It was really strange. It was almost like that one episode of the Twilight Zone where this couple was trapped in a town with no people in it. Tyler shivered when he remembered that the couple was trapped in a giant alien child's toy room.

He knew this wasn't a toy room because everything still smelled the same. Score one for being a werewolf. He thought to himself. Fortunately his teenaged uncle tended to keep his Jeep filled with Gas or Tyler would have had to hoof it. That wasn't exactly high on his list of favorite things to do. He made his kids run laps at the school. Werewolves had to stay in shape after all. What was the old axiom? "Do as I say, don't do as I do." Being an adult wasn't all that bad after all in that instance.

Tyler turned the corner on his 100th time around town, soon arriving at the gas station that was just down the road from the Mystic Grill. He heard someone hollering at someone else. It sounded like a girl that was yelling the loudest. Tyler while behind the wheel of the Jeep decided to pull it over. He did see that girl who was talking to someone. He couldn’t quite make out who was there with her or if she was alone. He climbed out of the Jeep and started walking toward her. He'd never seen her before in town. She was dressed in clothes that obviously came from the 21st century like he was. He was relieved that he wasn't alone here. She was the first person that he'd seen since he had gotten here.

Tyler heard her speaking when he stepped up to talk to her also. "Glad to see I'm not the only one here. My name is Tyler. Glad to meet you Charlie. I was born in Mystic Falls but it wasn't until about five years after this mess that we're trapped in." He knew other hunters existed and they often came to Mystic Falls as a stop before heading to Atlanta or searching for someone in particular.

The eerie stillness was starting to get to Tyler. "Look, just up ahead is the Mystic Grill. Maybe there are more people there." It was a long shot, but at this point Tyler was willing to try anything. She seemed like a nice enough girl even if she did talk a lot. Tyler would welcome the company and a new friend in the process if she was willing to go with him.

If she was a hunter, he didn't want to expose himself as a werewolf. Hunters killed werewolves after all. It was part of their job description. His stomach started growling a little too loudly. He blushed slightly, rubbing the back of his head. "They got some pretty incredible cheeseburgers at the Grill. I worked there a bit as a busboy when I was a kid in the early 2000s."

Tyler pointed to the Jeep that he'd exited. It wasn't idling or anything. Mason usually kept it purring like a kitten. He was glad that when he had to appear here no matter where it was, he appeared in his family's house. He could drive around and see if there were any other people like Charlie who needed help. Maybe someone would actually know how to get back home from here.

Girl Interrupted ; Exit post

Girl Interrupted

attn: Elena / TYLER EXITING THE THREAD
Tyler Lockwood was still trying to figure out what was going on in this place. He had a cushy job as a doctor on staff due to his status as a Lockwood. It was how he'd gotten through MedSchool. The spoiled rich kid got whatever he wanted. This was an expectation at this point that inflated his sense of entitlement. He was after all the former Mayor's Son and his uncle was the Hospital Administrator. He got what he wanted and usually tossed it away.

This had been different though. He found he did have a gift when it came to medicine. He saved the life of Jeremy Gilbert when he'd overdosed after stealing his sister's prescription pad. He liked Jeremy. The kid was too much into pill popping and excessive indulgence into ganja. Tyler wouldn't fault him on the ganja but the pill popping had to stop.

Tyler was heading in the direction where Bonnie Bennett had been conducting a group therapy session. He'd gotten side tracked from that mission when he'd gotten a page about Jeremy. He was immediately filled in by the nurses station. He ordered some sedatives to help Jeremy sleep. Withdrawal was hell, so he hoped this would help in some way. He finished up the order signing off on this. He'd actually been outside Jeremy's door when he started ranting and raving about witches, werewolves and vampires. Mentally he wrote it off as a schizophrenic break. "Just page me if you need anything else for him." Tyler told the nurse. He started to walk away this time heading for the doctor's lounge.

He was the only one there at the moment. Tyler put his feet up and pulled out his phone after taking off his coat. He started to check his social media accounts to see who might be up for being his naughty nurse. He was scrolling when a call came through. He grumbled a bit. "Hello?" He muttered answering the call.

"Ty, it's Matt." Sheriff Matt Donovan was standing at the scene of a commotion at The Woods. Lights and a multitude of emergency vehicles were behind him. "How soon can you get to The Woods?"

Any kid who grew up in Mystic Falls knew The Woods. It was where the parties were. "Why? What's going on Donovan?" Tyler sat up because he could hear what was happening behind his best friend. "It doesn't sound all too good out there. "

Matt turned around as the paramedics were pulling out a cot. They were about to race it deeper into The Woods. Matt turned around again as he tried to muster up the courage to speak to his best friend. "A couple of campers found him out there in the woods. He looked as though a bear beat the crap out of him."

Tyler's heart was beating faster. Matt wouldn't call him if it wasn't absolutely imperative involving someone with whichTyler was close. His heart fell in his stomach. He started fumbling for his keys. "It's Mason isn't it?"

"Yeah. It's bad Ty." Matt's voice was sullen and soft. He knew what Mason meant to Tyler. He was trying to keep the bloodied and broken image of his best friend's uncle out of his mind. Tyler was the best doctor in Mystic Falls. If anyone could save Mason it was Tyler.

Tyler was already running out the door ignoring everyone when Matt admitted who it was. He was going to do his damndest because his uncle needed him. "I'm on my way." He dropped his phone in his pocket and pulled out of the parking lot with wheels squealing. "Just hold on Uncle Mason…" Tyler whispered.
