Carrying the last of the boxes out of the cabin she and Jackson shared in the Bayou; Hayley smiled as she watched him follow her out to his truck with another handful of his things. “Still say we should take my dart board.”
Jackson chuckled, smirking at her from behind, giving him a look and raised her eyebrows at him briefly, “Your calendar girls too? Some things are better left behind Jack, and besides I let you take your bow and arrow.”
She shrugged her shoulders as she spoke before placing her things in the back of the truck. “Although I’m not exactly sure who you’re going to run into in the French Quarter though.” She added, turning to look at him after emptying her arms. “Hipsters.” Jack responded simply and a small laugh came from Hayley’s lips.
Seconds later Hayley watched as a poisoned arrow pierced the back of his leg and he groaned, dropping his box onto the ground in front of him. She rushed over to him “Jack!”
Hayley gasped, reaching for his shoulder before she heard another gunshot and instantly turned around and caught the poisoned dart that was meant for her in between her fingers. Tossing it to the ground she looked around into the trees that surrounded them.
“Are you gonna hide in the woods, or are you going to come out here and fight?” She said aloud, still looking around. Aya appeared behind her seconds after and quickly jabbed Hayley’s jugular with a dart that was laced with wolfsbane. “Gladly.” She mumbled, Hayley’s body shifted and she could feel her werewolf side starting to surface, quickly backhanding her away and she turned to fact her as they battled back and forth.
Jackson took care of two other males that accompanied Aya to follow through her plan, throwing blow after blow at each other, Hayley almost forgot what they were meant to do in first place; when it came to protecting their land; and having their independence, she would stop at nothing to make sure he and the pack were safe. That’s all that mattered.
The battle ended with Hayley and Jack waking up; chained to chairs in what seemed like an abandoned warehouse, shackles around both their ankles and wrists and the more Hayley tried to move, the more pain she felt coursing through her body. “Tried that...” Jackson said a few times over the more the chains that surrounded them rattled, and Hayley became frustrated.
“The more you struggle the more wolfsbane gets pumped into your veins.” She felt her heart sink into her stomach. “We have to get out of here.” She groaned, looking around then back at Jackson, tears swelling in her eyes. “This can’t be the end.” She shook her head, sniffling a bit. Little did she know Jackson’s life was about to be taken from him.
And there was absolutely nothing she could do about it.

Closing her eyes for a moment when she felt Freya gently rubbing her arm in hopes of consoling her, Hayley suddenly saw a flash of Hope’s smiling face behind the lids that covered her hazel green hues and it made her gasp; pulling her head up from her shoulder, Hayley glanced over at Freya with a slightly frightened expression on her.
“I just saw her... in my head...” She breathed out almost inaudibly. Sniffling and blinkinga few tears away from her eyelashes, Hayley glanced back over at Freya and the look she saw in the blonde’s eyes was something that told her she possibly had a plan, and Hayley’s heart started to thud beneath her chest.
Hayley stepped away from Freya just a little bit but she never took her eyes off her sister. Her arms folded across her chest while she felt the magic that Freya was starting to move around the room, the locator spell had helped them several times before; maybe it would now too, even if Hope’s humanity was off. Watching Freya’s facial expression change throughout the spell, her heart sunk into her chest when the Mikaelson’s eyes came to life, as if being ignited by a match to start a fire.
Hayley’s cheeks heated when she heard Freya say that she had found Hope, and she rushed over to the table to see the location that her daughter was in, hopefully safe and not harming anyone innocent.
Chewing on the inside of her lip out of habit, Hayley’s eyes stayed glued to the spot on the map the crystal was stuck to and she tilted her head slightly to the side.
“We have to play this smart, she could be up to anything. I’ve also never seen her with her humanity off but if it was anything like what we had to deal with when Rebekah was there, it’s going to take a little time to get through to her.”
She glanced over at Freya and nodded her head slightly before staring right back down at the map on the table. “I just hope we aren’t too late.” She added, in the same small voice. Taking a deep breath, Hayley grabbed her leather jacket and keys before glancing back at Freya from the door.
“I’ll drive if you can show me how to get there.” She said with s lightly nod of her head in the blonde’s direction. “We have to save her Freya. We just have to.” She felt her voice crack and tears streamed down her cheeks again before she disappeared from the doorway and down the stairs, her heart thudding even faster than before.
Hayley knew she had to do whatever it took to save her daughter, and she would indeed do anything to protect her, even if it meant losing her own life. As long as Hope was safe, that was all that mattered to her.

"We Can Get Through This Together."

The hand around her throat was unlike anything she had ever felt before, especially from Elijah. She groaned as her back was forced up into the tree that he was holding her again and she tried her best to get away from his vice without succeeding. Hayley screamed out in pain and tried her best to wriggle herself away from the Mikaelson who she had gotten entirely too close with way too quickly. Freya and Hope watched her body jerk against the floor in the circle of salt around her body, Freya kept her eyes on Hayley’s body and Hope shook her mother and cried out for her to wake up.
She didn’t know what was happening; but she wasn’t going to give up on saving her mother, and her uncle for that matter. Hope gripped Hayley’s shoulders as she shook. “Come back mom! Come back!” She shouted as loud as she could hoping that Hayley would be able to hear her and somehow come back to where she started.
Hope looked up suddenly when the candles around the circle went out and immediately Freya rushed over to Hope, grabbing her arms to get her attention and she knelt down in front of her niece. “Hope, Hope!” She pulled her from the circle and made her look at her. “If we don’t maintain the spell, we’re going to lose her in there.” Hope shook her head; “Let me help! I can save her!” Freya nodded slightly and kept her eyes on Hope’s face.
“I need you to trust me, this is what we’re going to do. I’m going to put you inside the pendent, and when you’re in there I want you to call out to your mom…okay?” Hope nodded slightly and Freya placed her hands against her cheeks. “When you’re in the hallway, Do not open any doors, do you understand?” Hope nodded slightly and then followed Freya to rest against Hayley’s side, leaning down to kiss her temple, she closed her eyes briefly. “I’ll see you soon.” She mumbled to her before slipping out of the circle back to her spell books again and started the incantation to place Hope inside the pendent.
Hope stood in the bright, white hallway and she looked around. It was quiet, almost too quiet. She had to focus; and she knew that she had a job to do. “We can get through this together mom… I promise.” She thought to herself as if she were talking to her mother and her uncle. Hope started to walk slowly down the hallway passed a few doors. “Mom?!” she shouted and her voice echoed through the walls. “I’m here!” She shouted again, continuing to make her way down the hallway.
Hayley continued in attempt to fight Elijah off, hearing Hope’s voice she gasped loudly, looking up toward the sky. “Hope! Stay there!” She shouted, finally managing to push Elijah off of her. Flipping out of his way she then sped off when she wasn’t in his binds anymore, focusing on getting back to the red door that she was imprisoned behind.
Right before Hayley was able to reach the door; Elijah’s fingers gripped her hair and pulled her back into the barn, shoving her into the wall. Hope on the other side walked slowly closer to the door when she heard the commotion and Elijah slammed Hayley down into the table and bared his teeth and Hayley shook her head, trying her best to fight him off still. “Please don’t do this, please don’t do this!” She then screamed out in agony as Elijah’s teeth sunk into her neck. Hope closed her eyes and focused on her mother, her hands out at her sides and she screamed for her mother causing Elijah to pull back away from her neck.
“Hope! Stay there!” She called out, watching Elijah back away from her and his eyes widened. “Hayley…” He whispered and Hayley breathed out deeply, blood trickling down the side of her neck and Hayley finally felt she could escape, running passed Elijah and through the door back to her daughter in the white hallway, she pulled her into her arms and hugged her tightly and then Hope pulled away. “Are you okay?” She asked, Hayley nodded and looked up at her. “Yeah baby, I’m okay.” She whispered, still trying to catch her breath.
“Where’s uncle Elijah?” Hope asked again, tilting her head to the side and a voice came from behind them. “I’m right here.” Hayley looked passed Hope and she turned to look at her uncle who was coming toward them out of the room behind the red door as it shut behind her. His was in a clean suit and his hair was trimmed aside from the blood covered ripper that Hayley had encountered moments before.
He stopped and looked at the two of them and Hayley pulled Hope into her and her arms wrapped around her shoulders. Hayley leaned down a little bit, “Hope, go back to Freya it isn’t safe.” She whispered Elijah’s eyes stayed on her the entire time. “It’s okay, it’s me.” He replied quietly and Hayley’s breathing hitched while she continued to hold onto Hope. ”Go home baby, tell aunt Freya it’s safe to fix the pendent.” She added and then watched Hope phase out of the hallway, leaving her alone with Elijah. “Please, forgive me.” He added, and Hayley could only wonder if she’d ever be able to trust him again.
As Freya and Hope fixed the pendent, Hayley’s body suddenly came back and she gasped for air, sitting up quickly and she was covered in sweat. “Mommy!” She heard Hope from behind her and she ran into her arms. Hayley’s wrapped her up tightly and Freya followed behind. “You did it, you saved him.” She whispered, watching Hayley hold her daughter closer to her chest, but did she really save him? Only time would tell, and Hayley was nervous of the outcome although she didn’t show it. He scared her.
