Helping in New York.
The one thing Emma loved more than anything else was helping people. That was why the minute she got the chance to do so, she did. She worked her way into the force and soon enough she had become a detective. "How does it feel to be a hero?" Her sister asked her with a smile. "I'm not a hero, I just love helping people. Putting bad guys away is what I love. No one who wants to kill and harm people should get away with that. So I am happy to make sure that doesn't happen. I have to go help someone else. It's not a murder thankfully. I have to go help someone find a cat that they lost. Sometimes it's just nice to help out neighbors even if it comes to animals." Emma told her sister with a smile. She always felt proud that she got to help people.
"I'm glad you are doing something good with all of the pain you have been through. I know you did a very bad thing, but you are trying to make up for it. So helping people is a start. I am so proud of you." Anastasia replied as Emma smiled. "Well, thank you, sis. That makes me really happy to hear. I need to go help her now, I will be back later." Emma told her sister as she hugged her tightly. She could not wait to go out there and help their neighbor. "Okay sis, have fun and be careful. Make sure to let me know if you find that cat." Anastasia replied with a smile. Emma nodded her head and then walked out of her sister's room. She made her way downstairs and out of the house. Thankfully the neighbor was in the townhome next door to theirs. So Emma didn't have to walk far.
Quickly, she made her way over next door and knocked on the door. When the woman answered Emma smiled. "Hello Mrs. Little, are you ready to find that cat?" Emma asked her neighbor with a smile. "I sure am. Thank you so much for doing this. I didn't mean to ask but I know you are a detective. So you help find people and I thought you might be able to help find my cat too. I know it's people you usually find, so is this okay?" Mrs. Little asked as Emma smiled and nodded her head. "Of course. I am here to help any citizen of New York. So if you are in need to find your cat, I am here to help. So where do you want to look first?" Emma asked her with a smile. She always wanted to let the people she was helping guide her.
"The last time I saw her she was in the kitchen. I think one of my kids must have accidentally let her out. If she's outside, I have no idea where she is. I just really want her back she's never been outside before, she's a house cat." Mrs. Little told her as Emma put a hand on the woman's shoulder to comfort her. "Don't worry Mrs. Little, we will find her. Let's go outside and see if she's back there. We always go to the last place you saw her. If you saw her in the kitchen, maybe she got out through the back door." Emma told her as she walked with her out the back door. She wanted to check the trees because she knew cats liked to climb. They had a silly way of being able to get up a tree but not being able to get down one.
"Let's check the trees out back first. Then we can check the trees out front. She's probably just in one and can't get down. You go check over there on the right. I will check all the trees on the left." Emma told her with a smile. As Emma made her way over to the trees she searched until she heard a small faint sound. It sounded like an animal in distress. Even more, it sounded like meowing which meant it had to be her cat. "I think I found your cat, Mrs. Little. Can you get me a ladder?" Emma asked her as she looked up at the tree. Within a few minutes, she looked down to see Mrs. Little with a ladder in her hand. She took the ladder from her and climbed it to the top. Once she was on the top step she got the cat out of the tree and climbed back down. "There you go. She's safe now." Emma told her with a smile as she handed the cat to the woman. "Thank you so much, Emma. You really her a hero." Mrs. Little responded as she took the cat from her and hugged her. "Thank you, Mrs. Little. I don't think I am a hero, but I do love helping people. I am just glad you found your cat and he is safe and sound. Have a good day Mrs. Little." Emma told her as she hugged the woman back and then left her house. She felt really good to help people and this was one of the many reasons why.
