Thanksgiving Drabble.

Emma couldn't wait until she could finally get to her brother's house for a Thanksgiving feast. Her kids were excited well her two oldest. Her twins were still young with both of them being almost a year old. They had no idea what was happening yet but she knew they were still happy. This was a time for thanks and she was grateful for everyone in her family. Her sister was still getting ready so that they could leave and head to Wyatt's and Huntleigh's house. She was excited about the stuffing because it was one of her favorite things to eat at Thanksgiving.

"I'm ready sis, sorry it took me so long. I was changing and then I had to blow out the candles before I left so they didn't burn our house down while we were gone. If you are ready though we can go ahead and get the kids in the car so we can leave. We don't want to be late for Thanksgiving dinner." Alaska told her sister as Emma smiled and nodded her head. She always knew what to say and Emma couldn't do this without her. Everyone thought she was strong for being able to take care of 4 kids but she wouldn't be able to do it without Alaska with her.

Emma walked upstairs to see her two oldest kids playing in the playroom and smiled. She picked up both Gracelynn and Landon while Alaska had Cassie and Maxwell with her. They walked downstairs after Emma got everything she needed for her twins put into a bag and then walked out of the house. She walked to the car and then got her older kids into their car seats while Alaska got the twins in theirs and they buckled them all in. She could tell that they were all hungry and if she was being honest so was she. They always had good food at her brother and sister in law's house. It was also so much fun hanging around them and spending time with them.

This was the one time she could give thanks with her whole family there with her. Emma got into the car and shut the door. Once her sister was in on her side with her door shut, Emma buckled her seat belt and hit the button to start the car. Once her sister was buckled she put her car in reverse and backed out of the driveway. She didn't need to use her GPS to get to her brother's house. When she was out of the driveway she put her car in drive and began to drive down the road. She couldn't wait until they got there.

When they finally got there she could tell that her kids were excited. They were all clapping and giggling from being excited. Emma smiled and pulled into her brother's driveway, then put her car in park. She unbuckled her seat belt and then turned her car off. She opened her door and got out then closed it and opened the back door to get her two oldest kids out. As soon as her sister got the twins out they closed the doors and Emma locked the car putting the bag for her twins on her shoulder. They walked up the driveway and then walked up the porch steps and onto the porch. Emma knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer. She couldn't wait to spend Thanksgiving with all of her family. This was what every holiday was for them and Emma loved it.

Fall Drabble.

Emma always loved the month of September. This was the type of month where Fall came and the leaves began to change colors. What a beautiful sight it was to walk along the woods and see the colors of the leaves. It was also one month closer to her favorite Holiday of the year. Halloween was the one time where she got to see her kids' faces light up while in costume being whoever they wanted to be for the night. It couldn't get any better than that. She also loved taking them outside just to play around and have fun.

Her kids' favorite thing to do during fall outside was to play in the leaves. They loved to jump in them and have a good time. There were so many times Emma recorded them doing it. She was the happiest in moments like this. They were having so much fun even though the leaves were flying everywhere. She watched as they piled them back up into another bundle and jumped into them again. Emma couldn't help but laugh as she walked over and joined them while jumping into the big pile of leaves.

After a while, it began to get cooler and she knew the perfect way to end a fall day. "Come on kids," Emma told her kids with a smile as they followed her inside. Emma walked over to the fireplace and turned it on for them so that they could stay warm. She wanted to make sure she ended the perfect day with a perfect night for her kids. She curled up with them and held them close to keep them warm as the fire continued to burn. It felt good to get to act like a kid again sometimes with her kids and to have fun with them.

A Drabble.

"The trees are about to show us how to let things go," Emma told her children with a smile as they sat in the backyard. Emma was very optimistic about things like that. She liked to teach her kids to be open-minded when it came to nature. With their age, it was easier to teach them things like that. Their imaginations were always running wild. "Mommy, how do the trees show us things like that?" Gracelynn asked her mother as Emma smiled. "You just have to listen," Emma told her daughter as she placed a soft kiss against the side of her head.

She knew her kids were going to ask a lot of questions, but Emma just wanted them to enjoy it. Before everything went to hell in her family, her parents used to do the same thing with her. It was one of the only memories that Emma had that she kept with her. Sure, her father was a monster but he did have his good moments. She wanted to make some good memories that would last a long time for her kids. The only difference is she wouldn't become a monster to her children. She was thankful for them, even her twins.

"Mwmmy, dw ywu think the trees hear us?" Landon asked his mother as he crawled onto her lap and looked up at her. "Of course they do honey. They always hear you as long as you talk to them. You might not get an exact answer-back, but it will always talk to you in other ways. You just have to believe in them." Emma told her son with a smile as she held onto him. She really was the luckiest mother in the world. She had the best kids and they always had such bright personalities.

They made her smile and they loved doing things with her. This is why Emma loved spending so much time with them. Emma watched as her kids got up and started playing near the trees. She didn't mind though because she could see them perfectly. She could hear her daughter talking to them as if they were listening and she smiled. These were the moments that they were going to remember and so was she. They were her little angels and she couldn't be more proud of who they had become as they were getting older.

Seeing them play made Emma's heart really happy. For the first time in a while she knew everything was going to be okay. She finally felt like she could let her past go and move forward. This was a moment that could share with two of the four most important people in her life. One day when the twins were older she could spend it with them too. Emma pulled out her phone and snapped a photo of her kids so she would never forget this. Finally she put her phone away and got up from the ground running over to play around her kids.

Love Is Love.

Today was going to be one of the best days for Emma and her family. Emma had always preached to her kids that they should love people the way that they want to be loved. Now that Gracelynn was going into first grade and Landon was going into preschool she wanted her kids to treat others the way that they would want to be treated. So, she had talks with them every night about what they did in school and who they met. She had made them promise to meet at least one new person and say something nice to them. She was trying something different than what her parents did with her.

By the time school had ended and all of the coronavirus stuff had started it was really important for her to let her kids know how they could
empower a kid and make them feel good just by saying a couple of nice words to someone. When they finally came home they had told her about all these new friends that they had made. They were all kids so it was easy to make friends but also it was easy to follow the in-crowd. "So, how does it feel to know that you made so many friends while you were at school?" Emma asked her kids with a smile. The only thing she wanted was to see her kids smile.

"We got to
celebrate in class today. The teacher said it was a surprise celebration. I met two new friends and we had a great time together. We got to eat lots of cake and ice cream which was my favorite part." Gracelynn told her mom with a smile. "We gwt tw gw wutside twday. It was my favwrite part wf preschwwl mwmmy. I alsw made a new friend. His name is Adam and he is a very gwwd perswn." Landon told Emma with a smile. "I'm very happy to hear that you guys had a great time and met new people while at school. It sounds like you had fun." Emma told them with a smile.

Emma was very happy with how well her kid's day had gone at school. Even more so she was now excited that when school started back in the fall they would have more friends to go to. The only thing she ever wanted for her kids was to have a great time at school and to make friends. It was something that Emma herself never got to do because she spent most of her time in a bad place. With it being pride month she wanted her kids to have friends of all different types to love and care for. That was all she could ever ask for when it came to her kids.

"Well, I have to say that I am quite happy with how your class time turned out. You guys seemed to have had a really fun time while you were in school and hopefully, during your time off you can still make friends at a distance. I'm sorry that your school year got cut short but that just means more time you get to spend with me." Emma told her kids with a smile as she hugged them both and kissed both of them on the top of their heads. She was really happy that she had such great kids who really cared about making others happy and seeing the best in everyone.
