Headcanon Nate in his cop verse won't get close to anyone because he knows that his job and life is dangerous so he keeps his feelings inside and he fears that if he does something wrong or out of line with who he works for in being a cop and a corrupt one at that. If he does love he will do anything to keep you safe and not let you be taken from him because they will do that if you betray them.
