The Purge [post 2]

The Purge
attn: Kol
mt: Elena, Hiram Lodge
Lionheart /1606290
Jeremy had taken much of the afternoon after Hiram Lodge had essentially hired him to participate in The Purge to get ready. Lodge wasn't kidding when he said he'd take care of Jeremy. It seemed like every few minutes there was someone at the door with a delivery. He was pretty much stocked to full capacity for the first time in his life as a hunter.

The younger Gilbert was going over his new gear. He could almost hear in his head the warnings from his sister. Elena fretted over him too much, he often thought. He'd actually died multiple times but came back to life every time. He'd gotten more careful over the years. Then when his calling as a member of the Five was activated, he was nearly immortal himself. His entire body was far more primed for this than he'd ever imagined. It all started with killing Kol that day in what seemed like a lifetime ago. Killing an Original caused the deaths of thousands… maybe even a million vampires that were all a part of his sireline. This made him the top dog in the ranks of The Brotherhood of the Five. He didn't want any of this, but the powers that be had other plans.

Kol had since been brought back to life thanks to some spell buried in the grimoire of Esther Mikaelson. It hadn't restored any of Kol's sireline according to everything that Jeremy had seen in his travels thus far. The vampires he'd encountered were from the sirelines of Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah. That was the thing about that family being the first. Kill one and the world seemed a little less dark. Vampires had been predominantly the monsters he'd faced. Given his background with the Originals, it was only safe to assume that would be where his specialty would lie. Jeremy inhaled sharply. He wondered if maybe he should call Elena and tell her what was happening. He immediately shook his head. That would give her undue anxiety because she had so much to be concerned about herself. He picked up his new crossbow that Lodge and the Triad had gifted him and started to visually inspect it.

Jeremy was roused out of his internal conversation by another loud knock to his door. He laid his crossbow aside to head for the door. The rest of his gear was properly packed and ready to go. He was waiting for one more thing. Lodge promised him a secret weapon. All Jeremy had to do was wait for it, then he could go. "Just set it – " It wasn't exactly what he expected after all or who. Kol Mikaelson stood there flashing a million dollar smile and using all the charm he had. "Kol?!? What the hell are you doing here??"

Typical. The upside of Kol Mikaelson being so entangled with his life led to him being an excellent hunter with the power of the Traveler's Magic. Then there was the downside. Kol was back and he'd decided to attach himself to Jeremy. Kol was a dynamic personality who often butted heads with Klaus according to Jeremy's knowledge of the family. The two of them were younger brothers, so he felt able to bond with Kol over that. After all, Kol knew that there was a curse involved with killing a member of the Five. Having Kol around wasn't always bad. Jeremy would never admit that in public.

"KOL! Did Lodge send you?" Jeremy would likely go out hunting with Kol during the Purge. It was just a point of irritation that would likely pass quickly. There were worse things than hunting with The Wily Fox during the Purge. The files that the Armory had just on Kol alone were massive and the recent material all had Jeremy hopelessly intertwined with it.
