The Story of Lothiriel and Eomer
Starts in Dol Amroth

The Meeting of Lothiriel and Eomer

Happening at the beginning of the Third Age.
{“The sun rose on the fields of Pelennor, the great siege of Minas Tirth was all but lost.  Yet hope had not faded and help was close at hand.  Through the crisp morning air, the sound of horn could be heard ringing out, signaling the arrival of King Theoden and the Riders of Rohan.  Attacks against the Corsairs of Umbar, Black Numenoreans, and Mordor.}

There was a charming café on the wharf overlooking the Bay of Belfalas.  It was a safe- haven, built here an age ago when a Numenorean family of the Faithful settled near elves.  Elendil, who was their kin gave them title to rule in the fief of Belfalas which was part of Gondor.

On this beautiful morning, Prince Imrahil relaxed behind the strong black iron gate which protected him from the sea invaders below.  It had been an exhausting week with waves of darkness.  The battle on Pelennor Field had proven bloody and fatal for friends and foe.  They had lost King Theoden of Rohan and the evil Witch King Himself.    The Prince
sighed, and inhaled deeply.  So many had come to help ward off the evil which had been promised to happen in Gondor.  As it was many of the Black Numenoreans had teamed up with Sauron in a big way, then making alliances with the heirs of Castamere and the consairs.  Hideous dastards all! He thought.
The hope would be that soon there would be law and order again.

The Prince had won true friends and allies in the last months, Aragorn, who was chieftain of a tribe of Rangers from the north, Halbarad, leader of the Grey Armies, Prince Eomer, who now was King of Rohan after his father’s death and Eowyn his sister.  He had made invitation to them all to stay at Dol Amroth
while arrangements for the dead and wounded were being cared for.  On this warm morning, he hoped for some company on the wharf to remanence the battle fought and to mull over plans for the future.
Word would get out that the meeting here in the Hall of Dol Amroth was being held and doors would be open.

After taking a few gulps of the wine, Faramir offered, Lottie stole another stare at the table where the Prince of Rohan and his friends were eating. It seemed by his demeanor that he was not interested in being too friendly, His men encircled him like a shield. But, she was determined to draw him in as a good hostess would do…and after finishing her wine, she felt added encouragement.
Her father stood closer to the men of the Rohirrim, she moved beside him. “Lothiriel, my dear, you seem unusually cordial this day,” he noted in a voice much too loud for her liking. She could feel the blood rising into her cheeks, as she signaled for him to let up. Yet he only smirked and threw a grin over to the table of men who were only too attentive. Raising her brow she smiled and directed her next remark directly at their leader.
“Lovely of you come to Dol Amroth, Prince Eomer. I hope you are enjoying yourself. Do give your sister our best. I hear
she has recovered from Pelennor. We would love to have her visit us here…..”

Sitting among his fellow Rohirrim Warriors they were enjoying the feast bestowed upon them. Many regarded them as the finest Warriors to walk Middle Earth, and they have the appetite to match that assessment. His passion was War, they live for War, War was necessary for peace to exist. Enjoying their feast they paid no attention to their surroundings, they were loud, boastful, and full of themselves as they knew they were of the Rohirrim and that meant no one dared to challenge them. Out of respect or fear mattered not, as long as they were treated the way they deemed they needed to be, all was well.

Then he caught this female staring over at him as he smiled and nodded thinking to himself that she seemed familiar.

Part I

Lothiriel stood over her desk gazing down at the wharf below. She watched as her father greeted men and elves~all allies in arms against Sauron and his ilk. She loved her father, Prince Imrahil for his courage, confidence, and integrity, yet few knew that his own elven blood explained the love and concern he had for everyone who was opposed to the evil in Middle Earth. There was the pride she had felt too, when he stood up against the Haradrim for Gondor and carried her cousin Faramir to safety after being struck with a poison arrow. And then, how he rescued the Princess Eowyn of Rohan, dragging her out of a bloody battle. All of this was fresh in her memory as the assembly in the room below were regrouping to see that Sauron was stopped.

Then her eyes moved to the man she knew to be Eowyn’s brother. He stood strong and determined; a roguish frown painted across his forehead. His long dirty-blond mane gave him a rebellious aura. Backing away, not hoping to be noticed, Lottie blushed. She thought she had caught a flicker of a smile cross his eyes and felt a quickening of her heart. Part of her wished she hadn’t promised her father that she would make an appearance at that meeting.
“Stop being a wimpy female” she thought, “What is the matter with you?” Even as she had three brothers, she was the one who had taken an interest in politics and enjoyed talking with leaders of other lands. She had a special fondness for Lady Galadriel in Lothlorien and her wizard friend.

Lothiriel stood gathering herself, and then walked out of the library, down the wooden stairway and on to the wharf to the café.

He stood there, his blue eyes gazing across the ocean. There was no doubt that he had other things on his mind, than having a friendly lunch with her father, brothers and cousins. But here he was. At Dol Amroth, her home.

She had heard rumors in the healing house that the Prince of Eomer ran a tight ship in Rohan. Ever since the death of his father, he nary had a chance to smile, nor stray from his leadership duties. The only other things she knew of him were that he adored his sister, Eowyn and his horses. Looking at him, she desired to know more.

“Lothiriel! Have you come to join us, my dear?” he father inquired loudly. It made her cringe as she was enjoying her quiet perspective…and no attentions. Faramir walked over to her, took her arm and pulled her to the table. “The lady would like wine, I suppose….” He winked at the maid servant. Lottie nodded. “Eomer, come join us lunch is soon to be served…..” her father smiled.
