Diary Entry 22 - 09/22

September 22^nd 2021.

Dear Diary,

I stopped by the animal shelter on my way to work to check in and see how the dogs were doing. Unfortunately the two puppies did not make it through the night. They were just too sick and weak and their little bodies could not handle the illness. It is so unfortunate and sad. As for the other dogs, one has gotten worse but the others have no change. They are still sick but at least they aren’t getting worse. As for the single dog that is getting worse they are continuing to monitor him. The vet is arriving today, and Sheila said she would give me an update later after he left. I am going to continue to pray that they recover.

I stopped at the café for a coffee and some breakfast and then went to Darling Buds. I cleaned the shop and restocked, and worked on some orders too. I had a lot to catch up after the break from the store I had. It sucks being the only staff member, because everything falls on me and is my responsibility. But I have to just keep my head up and carry on. I had a ‘KAREN’ come into the store. Short bob haircut, sunglasses, and snotty attitude. She was complaining and yelling at me that the store had been closed for so long and she needed flowers. I bit my tongue and remained professional. It took all my strength not to curse the dumb b*tch out for her attitude. She grabbed her flowers and left. Ugh, I hate those types of people.

I finished up a lot of orders and took them to the post office to be shipped out, and delivered the local ones myself via my car. Once I got home I walked Baxter then gave him his food. Showered and prepared food for myself and Avery then did the dishes. I then got a call from Sheila. The vet was able to diagnose the illness, I don’t remember the name of it though. Anyway the dogs have been given medication, and will continue to be monitored and will need to remain quarantined until signs of the illness are gone, as they are still contagious and we don’t want the healthy dogs getting infected. But it seems like they will make a full recovery which is great news. I am heading in tomorrow afternoon to check in on them and offer any assistance during my lunch break.

No rest for the wicked. I guess I can just sleep when I am dead right?
