The soft glow of amber light danced between the trees and across the tops of the old and ragged tombstones, catching every now and then on the decaying mausoleum walls to paint the prettiest of pictures, as the flames of the bonfire flickered and sparked. They moved almost in time with the rhythm of the music which crackled as it blared out from an old worn-out radio. It harmonized with their voices.

'It was like poetry really...' The thought made Kol smirk, 'Nik would be proud!'  Say there was possibly hope for him yet' The thought made the smirk upon Kol's face turn momentarily to a grimace and he closed his eyes, shaking the notion from his head.
There was no hope for him! He didn't need his brother's approval or his bloody families for that matter! He despised them!

Behind the border of the trees, he could hear Rebeckah already feeding upon one of the hapless idiots, She'd wasted no time and if he wasn't careful, she'd ruin it all! - His little plan.
She'd already twigged on to the fact that they'd come here possibly for the Gilbert boy, but her eagerness to feed, to rebel against Nik and his strict orders- The vow he'd insisted on them taking, not to harm a hair his perfect little Elena Gilbert's head, or her bloody family and friends, it just made his stomach crawl!
On any other day, he wouldn't have given the Gilbert boy a second thought... But because Nik had so thoughtfully drawn his attention to the possibilities that the boy could hold by forbidding it...  It had definitely sparked his curiosity.
He'd decided the very moment that he'd given his word, that he'd find a way around it! He'd find a way to make the Gilberts and their friend's lives hell, without having to touch a single hair upon their precious little heads!- at least for now...

"How about we liven up this little 'shindig' a little!..." He announced loudly as he glanced across the crowd, and through the border of trees to where he heard his sister's meal drop like a sack of potatoes to the forest floor.
"Rebekah..." Kol rolled his eyes before continuing  "We're about to play a little game... Won't you come to join us?"

Turning abruptly, he made his way around the fire to where Jeremy Gilbert sat upon an old and battered couch and declared "I've heard about you! You're Jeremy Gilbert right?" And grinned as crouched down before him to make eye contact. "I believe you and me, well... we're gonna become, good mates!" Kol continued before focusing upon Jeremey Gilbert's eyes.

Intently he stared upon the dilation of Jeremy's pupils, not giving the boy a chance to reply... As he lowered his voice and ensured his tone remained flat, while he placed his hand upon Jeremy's shoulder and continued..."Do you like games Jeremy? Because we're going to play a game. Do you know the game ' Simon says... Well, this game, it's called Kol says!..."
Kol arched his brow deviously to Jeremy and continued. "And whatever you see, no matter how terrifying it is to you... Kol says you will sit there and silently watch. You won't be able to run until I say you can!..."  Kol  informed him with a smirk, as he watched Jeremy's eyes to ensure his compulsion had worked before slowly rising and announcing to the rest of the stoners around the fire.

"The rest of you bloody misfits... Now we're going to play a lil game I like to call, Duck, Duck, they're all dead!" He announced gleefully as Rebeckah finally emerged, entering back from the treeline.
"You've probably heard of its counterpart, you know the game you played as kids? The game where everyone sits round in a circle, and someone..in this case, Rebeckah and I will walk around tapping you's on the head as we say Duck, till we pick our geese?... Well, there are no Geese!" Kol announced triumphantly, breaking into a broad grin as he extended his hands before him; to emphasize what he was about to say next...

"Your all dead!"

He could see the confusion sweep across their eyes, and behind him, one of the stoners broke into laughter...
"Great joke man! You had us all going there for a mome..."

He didn't have time to finish the sentence. In a single heartbeat, Kol's left foot dug firm into the forest floors moist soil. Pivoting his body around, he lunged towards the stoner grasping his shoulder with his right hand; Swiveling him within his grasp as he placed his left hand upon the boy's head, yanking it back to rest abruptly upon his left shoulder, as he announced

" Duck!"

It was instant, the moment Kol's head dipped and his mouth opened wide; burying his fangs into the kid's neck. Unlike Rebekah with her airs and graces and the dignity to feed cleanly... It had always been about the show to him...The horror and fear he could relish upon his next victim's faces as they watched him massacre their friends, their loved ones!

He could hear the stoner's confusion in the moments that followed. The moments before the realization of what was happening truly sank in. The moments where their confusion was replaced with horror and fear and Kol bit harder, and deeper. He could feel the boy's warm blood seep against his skin; soaking his jaw and chin as it overflowed from his mouth with each bite. And he didn't care!

It was only as the boy's body dropped lifeless to the ground; leaving Kol standing before them; covered in blood and still holding the stoners decapitated head, that the screams started and the real panic set in!

"Rebekah!!! "
Kol sighed, as the stoners started to scramble to their feet and make their futile attempts at a mad dash for the treeline.
"Be a doll and round them up! The funs only just beginning and I want our new 'mate' Jeremy to have a great time!"

Turning Kol looked towards Jeremy and grinned. He wanted to see the shock, the fear, and dread upon the young Gilberts face. It was the only thing, that would truly make this night memorable! And make it stand out from the other times he'd mercilessly slaughtered whole families or gathering of people just for the sport.
He wasn't disappointed! Jeremy Gilbert had turned positively white!

Kol watched as the boy's eyes darted back and forth, trying to keep up with Rebeckah as she rounded up the fleeing stoners and stopped them from fleeing. But his eyes, Jeremy Gilbert's eyes always returned to him!
And at that moment, Kol knew the boy was wondering what he was going to do next. Hating him for every moment of it, but fearing him all the more... he had Jeremy Gilbert right where he wanted him!

Still grinning,  Kol strolled over to the fire, where Rebeckah had rounded up the rest of the terrified stoners and tilted his head as he arched his brow, applauding her with his words.
"Well done Sister! Your Kol calmly lowered the decapitated head still in his grasp, ready to drop it into the fire when caught a movement from the corner of his eye...

One of the stoners had hidden around the side of the crumbling mausoleum, instinctively the girl was trying to slowly crawl into the shelter of the trees beyond, trying her hardest not to draw any of their attention, and he wondered if Jeremy Gilbert had seen her.

Of course, the boy had! The boy had to have! From where he was sat, he had the perfect view!

Thoughtfully Kol glanced down at the flickering flames. Was he disappointed in Beckah for missing one...Noo...  He wasn't Nik! It was her first time joining him in one of his games...And it felt like were almost truly bonding again for the first time in years!
Was he disappointed in the Gilbert boy for not alerting them to the girl's escape bid...No!  In truth, he would have been disappointed if Jeremy had!

This hope, Kol knew at that moment, that Jeremy Gilbert still had, believing one of the hapless souls would escape this night alive, it just made it all the more entertaining!
Tenaciously, his lips twitched as he tried to refrain from the grin spreading across his face while he once again tightened his grasp around the head and glanced back to Rebekah, continuing in earnest.
"I believe it's your turn to pick a 'Duck' sister!" Then stepping forward with his left foot, Kol lifted the decapitated head across his shoulder, lunging it through the air to 'butt heads' with their crawling escapee!

Instantly it knocked the girl out cold and she crumbled to the ground causing him to break into laughter as he called out gleefully to Rebeckah and Jeremy

"TOUCH DOWN!! Did you see that!! It was bloody hilarious!!!"
