Groupwide - 11/23, Change
Raven spent the majority of her life living off the grid; change was a daily occurrence. She never knew where she would be sleeping or where she would get her next meal, she kept herself moving because standing still could get herself killed. Life as a mercenary was the only life she felt she could live. Thanks to the extensive testing at the Turbo City Asylum for the better half of 10 years, she had gained several abilities and traits that had made living any form of 'normal' life impossible. Raven had a hunger that could only be quenched by drinking or injecting blood and if she didn't stay on top of this, she could find herself rampaging and tearing into innocent bystanders as if they were nothing more than wet paper. Raven didn't care much for people because she never had the luxury to harbor relationships, but that didn't necessarily mean she wanted to become a monster, either.
For a good chunk of time, she found herself in New York City. The crime rates were high and the contracts flowed readily, giving her both the adrenaline rush and the satiation of hunger that she desperately needed. It was here that she met a man named Beck, a 'handler' if you will, that had many dangeorus men under his belt. He had countless contracts all ready for the picking and employed her because of her prowess and skillful completion of kills. Rae grew used to the simplicity of this transaction. She sought him out and he gave her people to kill. Her options were bountiful, meaning she never found herself on the brink of losing control of her devilish hunger. If it weren't for word that Fleur, her long-lost friend, was reigning in Valkery, Raven may have stayed in New York City. A reunion is what she needed and so, she took on yet another change.
Moving to Valkery wasn't difficult, but adjusting was. Rae no longer had the continuous flow of people to kill, meaning she was scouring the area almost constantly for some sort of victim. Raven chose her prey carefully, only taking out the biggest bads as a way to 'level out' the world. Valkery was swarming with Lucy's minions and although she shouldn't have a problem taking them out, she realized that killing those men also came with consequence. If she were to kill too many, the minions and Lucy would direct their rage back on the people she was quickly finding to be her friends. This meant that she was once again limited in what she could do and thus, found herself teetering between control and complete chaos.
Most days, Raven wondered if she would ever get her sh*t together. Could she ever break free form this hunger, or was this a permanency that she would be forced to deal with? So far, it seemed that she would never be rid of the need to consume. Any moment spent avoiding the inevitable threatened the lives of those around her. For this reason, she had found herself an alternative... a human blood bag, if you will, that she chose to not expose. Raven never needed much but she didn't like the feeling of being so dependent, so vulnerable. Unfortunately, you can fight against change all you want but in the end, it's going to happen anyways.
