The Stupid Prince & The Stubborn Princess AU :Thats what its all about

She finished writing up her reports and stood up she turned her phone on and it instantly went off..there were at least 30 texts from Brian..he was freaking out she sighed and pushed her chair in and walked down the hall to the elevator and pushed the button. She dialed Brians number and it ran voice mail. She raised her eyebrow and hung up getting on the old elevator and pushing the button for the first floor. She got off and walked outside her uber was waiting she got in and told him the directions. She was recounting the events of the day and he kept popping in her head. Why? It was weird today he wasnt such a prick..he was actually human. She thought breifly about going home and taking a shower and pushed that thought out of her head. She tried to focus on a thought of Brian the man she was supposed to spend the ….well most of her life with...she knew there was going to come a time where she had to sacrifice her body to him and she really didnt want to but if she wanted to keep up this lie it was going to happen. She was trying to build up courage and she had.talked herself into it ..it was going to happen tonight ..just get it over with and then its no big deal right? Yeah people sleep with people that they dont necessarily like but they do it ..mostly for pleasure. She loathed Brian he was always trying to touch her and convince her to do things ..that she didnt want to do. She pulled up outside his door and got out of the car. She walked up the steps and pulled out her key unlocking the door and pushing it open. Shutting the door she took off her jacket and peptalked herself .

"Brian? I was thinking that maybe we could…..well I mea. Have se…---"

She froze she was standing in the bedroom seeing Brian in a most compromising position with BRANDY!!!! Her breath caught in her throat as Brian and Brandy looked over at her. He fell out of bed and grabbed a pillow hiding himself and ran up to her.

"ANGEL!!! I didnt think youd be coming over? I texted you and you never answered..this isnt what it looks like." He nodded to Brandy who waved at her. Angel looked at Brian and felt somewhat releaved but somewhat shattered she spoke softly.

"I was at work...I couldnt ….." She felt like crying for a moment thinking she was about to give up her body to him and he did this...her anger was rising slowly. " what do you mean its not what it looks like Brian..your d*ck was inside of her…"

He smiled a little and glanced at Brandy then back at Angel.

"Yeah maybe but I love you...Angel 2 years and we havent had sex once how do you think I was still around..I mean sh*t..your hot but honey...how long could a guy wait? " he said almost convincing her she was in the wrong.

Angel shook her head and backed up

"She has a boyfriend!!! Who I f***ing work with...BRIAN WHAT THE F***…" she was pissed now and turned walking out of the room. As she walked down the hall she was tipping anything she passed. She paced in the livingroom thinking to herself.. This is all men want isnt it? Just sex thats all they care about ..just a body count..her breathing sped up and she could feel herself having a panic attack. She leaned over putting her hands on her legs and was taking deep breaths. She needed to get out of here. She pulled her phone out and pushed a bunch of buttons and herd it ring she dropped the phone as Brian walked out with Brandy she stood up still trying to breath and looked at them.

"Angel calm down ...seriously..sweetheart its fine I love you but you should have slept with me to show me ..I dont get it 2 years and nothing ..I mean maybe theres something wrong with you?" He laughed a little and so did Brandy she raised an eyebrow and pointed at her.

"You have a boyfriend...albeit a prick of one but a boyfriend who you sleep with all the time??? Why Brian??? Why you ruined everything you know that??? It was so hard to do this ...and now you YOU blew it and him" she could feel her eyes sting..she wasnt upset at the fact that they slept together it was the fact that Brandy and Brian just blew her cover her rules..she looked at them again and grabbed her jacked and phone which was still in a call and walked out the door. She looked around and sat on the steps outside and put her face in her hands she was terrified now..she couldn't help but cry she was alone now..she had no cover and it was all because she wouldn't sleep with him..something so simple but something that meant so much to her it wasn't something just to be given away it should be earned she wanted someone to have her that wouldn't hurt her ..that wouldn't take advantage of her ...did he exist ? Probably not as she was learning...and that broke her heart into pieces. She was a failure in her eyes and mind..she shouldn't have been so stubborn..so stupid...she felt her body shake as she cried alone on the stairs ..what was she supposed to do now?

She tried to focus on him but her eyes kept closing. God she was feeling so tired but she wanted to stay awake..she was fighting it sonhard her head was getting fuzzy and she moved closer needing more of that feeling when she felt something warm against her she smiled and looked at him she literally almost felt drunk she spoke softly.

"I have powers that I cant tell anyone about..my mom said not too.. But i can feel what people feel thats how I know what happened to the body…"

She held up her hand and looked at it and frowned a little.

"Im not an empath...im a freak."

She nodded and reached out and placed her hand on his face looking at him. What was she doing her head was screaming at her but for some reason she didnt care and she didnt know. Why. Something about him made her feel safe at that moment like he would almost protect her. She blinked slowly and smiled feeling her hand warm against his skin. She slid it off his face and closed her eyes that last touch was really hard..it hit her like a 8th shot of tequilia. She smiled and spoke softly.

"I felt that..did you?"

She yawned again and felt her whole body get heavier And her breathing relax. She whispered shaking her head.

"No..i couldnt pull it off im not as tough as her..shes a bitch sometimes...but then so am I"

She laughed but kept her eyes closed she knew she was going to give up fighting and she finally did feeling his energy help her fall asleep for the first time in her life. She had never met someone with this power..and she was intruiged by it and drawn to it he was remarkable..

She smiled and laughed.

" yes I will agree with you on that there is no debate..so we have similar tastea I see ."

She looked at him. She turned and looked back at the tv and tilted her head back on the couch and nodded when she herd him on how he related to Batman she stared at the tv. And spoke softly.

"Sure moneys great but ..that woulsnt have done it for me ...he protects everyone you know he just needs someone willing to protect him...take the stress off I think if he found some one to do that..then hed be happy.."

She nodded and made a face and laughed she reached out and pushed his arm.

"Catwoman please maybe in my dreams ..no way I couldnt pull off her outfit in a million years….."

She felt herself move over closer to him for some reason and kept her gaze on the tv. For the first time in a while she felt safe it was weird. She could relax and almost sleep. She hadnt ever felt that not even with her mother. She blinked feeling her eyes getting heavier but she fought it and kept her head tilted back slightly. She moved even closer to him she felt the pull and an energy coming from him that was drawing her there.

"So what other secret do you have Batman?"

She rolled her head to look at him and smiled.

She looked at him and smiled a bit.

" well as long as you promise.."

She gave him a look at sat down next to him and looked at the tv.

"Im usually staring at the tv all night last night it was reruns of twilight zone….i think ive seen them all.."

She looked at him and felt herself stare at him and looked back at the tv feeling her whole body relax next to him. She was feeling really comfortable right now not like most nights. There was something about him that was making her relaxed.

"Batman ..june 23 1989 good choice Ive always thought he was the only Batman personally...I mean he does have charm in a weird stanoffish way."

She laughed and sighed.

"Ive prolly seen this one at least 68 times ...i think I own the dvd…"

She nodded and looked at him. She couldnt help but to study his profile god he was attractive..really attractive for. A brief moment she wondered how soft his lips were..she blinked and looked back at the tv.

"So your a batman huh?"

She turned and looked at him amd got up. She pushed the hair from her face and nodded..he looked like he was ready to sleep she looked at her watch it was past midnight when people were normally asleep she looked at him and smiled.

"Right...yeah um yeah Im sorry you've gotra be tired I can just go in there ..and sleep or something .."

She shook her head and walked past him and into his room. She paused and glanced at him.

"I did feed your fish so you didnt have to remember .."

She smiled and left the door open and looked around. She sat on the bed. She didnt quite know what to do she figured shed just sit there and wait for him to fall asleep or morning. She could feel him in the next room thought which was weird it was still pulling her to him. She shook her head and tried to ignore it. She leaned over fliped the switch and the light went off. She sat there for a moment and realized it was too dark so she leaned back over and flipped it on.

"Um this might seem weird but...I cant sleep...like really at all...so im just gonna sit here but you can sleep …"

She called out and bit her lip. She knew she sounded crazy..but part of her wanted to go out there and sit next to him just be next to him..she didnt understand why though. She took a small breath and could smell him everywhere and it was making her head spin.

She watched him go into the bathroom. It didnt go unoticed that he mentioned not really liking his father .and paused looking around she chewed the inside of her lip and made her way back into the livingroom. She looked at the tv and then hers a bang she looked over her shoulder and her him say something about a tricky tv. She glanced back at the tv and raised an eyebrow and snapped her fingers and it came on. She raised her eyebrow at the image she stared at it for a moment. And tilted her head and whispered jesus christ ...and walked up to it and tapped it and the screen went black again. She shook her head and and crossed her arms. She walked up to the desk and saw all the random papers on it she reached out and lifted a couple scanning the papers. She did note the amazing amount of phone numbers scattered all across it. She nodded and turned back to the fish. She reached up and found the food and threw some in there. She turned and walked to the couch sitting on it . she bit her thumb still looking around. She noted it didnt seem like alot was updated in here ..was this all his fathers stuff. She shrugged and leaned forward and looked under the coffee table she saw a random book and pulled it out and flipped through it she tossed it back down and caught sight of herself in the mirror. She made a face and turned.

" it sucks you dont see your mom as much I mean sometimes I wish mine would leave me alone ...so you get lost in movies huh? Which ones ..ive seen alot ...."

She mumbled under her breath. "Except what was in the dvd player that is."

She pulled out her phone again feeling it vibrate and rolled her eyes again answering it it was her brother yet again. She sighed and spoke softly.

"Listen..Im busy...what? Then don't answer it...oh mom wants to know year right...no ignore him okay...look i got to go...bye"

She hung up and turned off her phone. She leaned back and closed her eyes for a moment. She lept getting that weird sensation being here she couldnt put her finger on it but it was there. And it was stronger now that she was in his apartment. She could tell that noone other then him had been in there probably why he goes to the women's apartment same as she does. Maybe this was a new twist though on this game he played. She tried to push that thought out of her head..he wouldn't try that on her would he...truth is she didnt know ..he was acting so different from before she didnt know what to believe

She followed him crossing her arms and smiling.

"A little sister? I would have rather had one of those..my brother is a ...a piece of work but is protective of me ..weirdly enough.."

She followed him down the hall and notice a door open and someone peek out at her she stared at them and the door shut when they came to his apartment she gave him a look.

"So this was your dads..well nostalgic then isnt it? I mean like your keeping his memory alive some how even though you never met him."

She nodded and smiled as he talked about the cleanleness again and she walked in scanning her eyes over everything as she walked down the hall she glanced over her shoulder at him.

"Its not bad..its actually very well put together ..clean..at least by girl standards ..very impressed ."

She saw the fish tank and talked over to it leaning down to look at them and put her hand on the glass.

"You know you should feed them more then once a week.."

She arched her eyebrow and stood up. This was the first time she was ever in another mans apartment other then Brians. She stood there a moment longer and took her jacket off. She peered around the corner and saw a kitche .

"So you do have a kitchen...good to know huh."

She smiled and brushed the hair from her face and looked around she was getting that strange feeling again from him she couldnt understand it but she wanted to feel it again for some reason. She walked up to him amd leaned behind him and put her jacket on the coat rack she took a deep breath and felt her heart jump when she was that close to him. She had to step back before she reached out and touched him again.

"So what do you do for fun? "

She smiled she didnt really know what she should do...she found her self just staring at him and she cleared her throat.

" wait where do you sleep?"

She glanced around.

She got in and put her seatbelt on and felt her phone vibrate again and leaned up and pulled it out and rolled her eyes shutting it off she looked at him.

"My brother...he likes to randomly check in with me find out where I am...I dont know. And youve never had anyone at your place...I get that sounds like me ...Its just to personal for me to have someone in there..and besides my cat doesnt like most people...hes very picky.."

She smiled and raised her eyebrows looking at him.

"Nothing is never mom standard clean..I learned that ..at least once every 3 months my mom comes here to change my apartment .."

She rolled her eyes and looked out the window. What was she doing seriously she should have went home ..but she didnt ..she didnt want to maybe she wanted to see what would happen ? Maybe nothing probably nothing more then likely nothing. She let out a breath and picked at her nail and was memorizing the route to his apartment incase she needed to leave in the night.

"How long have you lived here ?"

She asked and turned her head to look at him. She felt it that same wall hes had all day but there was something else something elalse that felt like it was coming through a crack she didnt know what it was though.

She gave him a look and swallowed shaking her head. She was not about to let him know where she lived that was stupid. She smiled.

"The cat has a timed feeder although he breaks into it all the time..and as for my clothing I rarely sleep so Im fine ."

She crossed her arms watching him she noticed him change a little and she nodded glancing at her watch ah almost midnight..it must be true then.

She walked over to the car and turned to look at him.

"Are you sure you want me to come over? Like you dont have to this "

She pointed to the resturant and nodded.

"This was more then anyones done for me before.."

She raised her eyebrow and walked slowly over to the passenger side.

"I mean I don't want you to feel like you have too do this or anything cause you don't. If you didnt want to I mean."

She ran her finger against the car. Watching him. She was trying to read him but she couldn't. He had some sort of emotionless force field up. She was somewhat intrigued by his game. Just then her pocket vibrated and she pulled out her phone and looked at it she rolled her eyes and texted back before shoving it in her pocket.

""And I should say thank you feeding me...that was nice...people should really do that more often..it really gives you an insight on there character."

She watched his face and his demeanor she noted the small things the way he held the check the way his eyes went off into a distance when he spoke or just how many breaths he had to take before he spoke. She chewed the inside of her lip and nodded..

"Humanity has lost its compassion for others to be honest with you...everyones out for themselves its a way we were all conditioned you know. It used to be a person searched for that one true person they they could get completely lost in and there was no fear because they were they're to protect them...nobody protects anyone anymore...you have to protect yourself."

She smiled softly and felt herself turn a little pink and pushed some hair behind her ear.

"Sometimes Id like to leave my mind if it was just for one night…"

She nodded and took in a breath.she looked into his eyes and then herd him...melting god yeah I am she said to herself but quickly followed his gaze to the ice cream she picked up the spoon and took another bite.

"Even melted its still amazing"

She smiled and finished off the bowl. She kept glancing at him from time to time. She still couldnt believe she agreed to go to his place what was she thinking? Who knows her mind was all fucked up tonight. Maybe she wanted to throw caution to the wind and see what would happen?

She nodded and looked at him raising her eyebrow.

"Yeah ...yeah it jist eent down the wrong pipe…"

She hit her chest again amd smiled. She looked down and took a deep breath. Jesus Angel..calm down .

"Thats really nice of you..to offer you know most people wouldnt even think to reach out.."

He was sure sending some signals she couldnt read them she raised her eyebrows and tried like hell to get him..again all the time tonight he was so sweet she could honestly feel herself start falling for him but she knew there was not a chance in fell as long as he played that game..how could she know if it was truly him or that game..wether or not anything happened the pure mention to anyone at work that he bagged her was sure yo up him a couple points on the male macho list. She kept her smile though and watched him.

"Thank you..sometimes my mind is my own worst enemy..if given the chance it would destroy me."
