Tyler Lockwood AU
It is well known that by the time vampires were created in 1001 AD that werewolves and witches had been around for centuries. The North Atlantic Pack that had an Alpha named Ansel was well versed in all the old ways that had been around for centuries. Tradition and family are a positive belief and reinforced by centuries of learning from one generation to the next. Witches have their own bonds with the earth and nature that are parallel to the centuries of the bonds of werewolves and their connection to nature itself. The origins of the werewolf packs and their bloodlines vary. Tyler Lockwood is the last of the Apisi bloodline. When he died, the bloodline ended. Like all legends, there had to be a beginning. With this particular bloodline, it started with the original Hound of Hell, Cerberus. The three headed Hellhound also had a human form he assumed so that the bloodline was continued. Just as his mistress Persephone left hell for a season, Cerberus was also granted this release. He would always return to the Underworld and to Hades without fail. He would keep track of his descendants on his various trips to Earth. One of those descendants he followed closely was Tyler Lockwood. When Tyler died that last time and he passed through to the Underworld, Cerberus was not pleased. Cerberus implored his master Hades to Grant him this one favor. Tyler was the fastest and the strongest of all his descendants. Now his bloodline no longer existed. Cerberus implored Hades to restore Tyler to the land of the living as a reward for his faithfulness to Hades himself. Hades agreed. Tyler lives again. He is a werewolf, but he’s also a Hellhound. He is not charged with dragging souls to hell. Tyler is considered much like a Prince of Hell. In the Legacies timeline, he can be seen working with Alaric Saltzman and Jeremy Gilbert often hunting vampires and being a mentor to the werewolves of the Salvatore School.
