* Allie loss consciousness and all pain turned into darkness. She had lost enough blood and was not healing at her accelerated rate. Her sister's blood the quick remedy as it stopped the hemorrhaging. The beating of her heart grew steady as her breathing did also. Marius asked Samara to allow him to administer a blood transfusion to help Allie's body recover from the trauma of the heavy blood loss. She slept for hours until finally waking up late night. Her first thought was on her baby as she asked to see her. Allie was pleased to know she was alright and well. After thanking her sister for saving her life, she went on with Jon to decide on a name for their little girl. She'd fallen in love with the name Penelope growing up while reading Homer's Odyssey. The faithful and smart wife of King Odysseus. Allie was left amused on how tactful and cunning Penelope had been in the story as she long awaited for the return of her husband. The name was settled as they looked on their little one. She was sleeping soundly. Eventually, Allie grew tired and handed the baby over to Jon. She too needed to rest to regain her strength and energy.::
- Jon looked between Allie and their daughter as he held her. Much as he wanted to take more joy in the moment his concerns came over Allie. Holding their daughter in one arm, her hand rested on top of Allie as he watched her health progressively get worse. Mostly ignoring the bickering going on but watched Marius administer the blood to Allie. Jon watched and waited for Allie to come out of it. Encouraging again in a low voice. -
Mid-jump Noah was struck by some unseen force causing him to fall back several feet. About to lunge a second time, Samara was quick to meet his attempted advance and managed to hold him back as Jon forged a shield around the others. Allie's scent still lingered, though to a lesser intensity. The vampires eyes rolled back, and when opened again had returned to a dull crimson shade.
"Fuck."
As he attempted to center himself and regain control, he picked up Allie's quickened pulse. He moved Samara aside and stood to his feet, taking a step forward to see Jon embracing the child and the doctor attending to Allie with newfound urgency. Noah's eyes scanned over the bloodstained sheets, the green shield managing to dim the potency of her blood.
"Hurry Samara!"
His voice held more force, unsettled by Allie's paling appearance.
* Allie sensed the danger radiating from Noah, yet she could not react. Her body was trembling as she started to hyperventilate. She let go of Jon's hand as she gasped for air. Marius coached her to take full breaths, but it was becoming impossible. The room became a blur as a shield appeared to block Noah from lunging towards them. She should have known the smell of her blood would intoxicate him. The young empress took one last breath before her eyes rolled back. Allie was falling unconscious from the grave loss of blood. Her body not being able to recover from the trauma of labor as it should be.*
- Jon didn’t mind if it was, he did only care that the baby was healthy, but being as how much he had initially wished their first was a boy it shouldn’t be a surprise that he was saying the same here. He helped encourage the last of her pushes, noticing that Allie was doing better than her first pregnancy but she didn’t look well. His attention turned to the sound of their baby as the cries filled the room. He instantly broke a grin when he saw her. He didn’t hold back the low laugh as Marius passed the baby to Allie, and Jonathan looked at his little girl. An instant rush of protectiveness came over him as he didn’t take his eyes off of her as she was passed to Jon to take. Once again Jon found himself in the position of immediately taking the baby as Allie’s health started to take a turn. If that wasn’t the only problem on their hands, Noah became the next.
Jon didn’t have the senses that Samara had and was distracted by their daughter, but to their benefit with her intervention, he was even enough time to shield Allie, himself, their daughter, Marius and even Samara after she knocked Noah away from them. He had to free his hand from Allie’s to extend his own and put the green energy field up to prevent Noah from trying to attack Allie again. -
Allie's heartbeat was deafening with each prominent thump that resonated in his ears. The vampire focused in on her throat, watching the vein pulse in a quickening rhythm beneath her perspiring skin. He steadily moved in on his prey, his fangs beginning to peak out in an unmistakable thirst. In a deep breath her scent filled his nostrils, causing Noah's eyes to slide closed in euphoria. Unable to repress the hunger, his eyes snapped open and he lunged at his target.
* Allie heard the baby cry and reached over to take him or her from Marius. Her lip curving into a smirk as she spoke in a dry, raspy voice.*
It's a girl. You have awful intuition, Jon.
* She lowly laughed, holding onto her baby girl for the first time. Allie's heart was beating faster with joy, yet also because she continued to lose blood. The empress began to shiver as she smiled down at the beautiful creature. Her eyes filled with fascination on how perfect she was. Her teeth chattering, Allie gently caressed her baby's cheek before handing her over to Jon. Her breathing getting worse.*
* Allie exhaled deeply as she tried to focus on Jon, but found it difficult not to look over to see where Noah and Sam were standing. Her intuitive power taking over briefly, but squeezed them tight as she pushed again. Letting out a loud groan, Allie relaxed to try and regain strength for the next big push. She listened and seconds later opened her eyes to see Jon's green hues.*
I will laugh too, if it is a girl.
* She half-smirked as she agreed with her sister. Allie gasped for air before pushing once more. Her heart rate was increasing and beating faster and faster. She screamed in agony as she finally pushed the baby out. In doing so, Allie started to lose more and more blood. Her blood pressure began to drop as her breathing increased. However, the young Empress remained focused to where the baby was, hoping to hear she or he was alright.*
- Jon lowly maintained his grin as Allie questioned him. He had no concrete way of knowing but they got blessed with a boy the first time, why not the second. -
Call it intuition.
- He amused back, taking the tightening grip of her hand as Jonathan put his focus back on the birth. Each second was passing bringing the baby closer to being born. Jon continued to encourage Allie as the birthing of their child continued. His eyes switching between, more when Samara brought up Noah’s fangs, preparing himself if need to be to protect the baby and Allie. Marius stated that all was needed was one to two more. -
You can do this Allie. You’re almost there and we can see our baby.
Noah cracked a subdued smile at Jon's comment. The two were not comrades, though after a period of trial and error a mutual respect had at last come to fruition. Jon had brought stability to Allie's life... and as much as it pained him to admit it, could offer her things the vampire knew he alone never could. Noah's candid banter was unavoidable. It was simply in his persona, a part of his twisted charm; his own, subtle way of releasing some of the pain he felt at the reoccuring realization of his damned existence.
Allie soon took a more direct approach in her reprimand, causing him at last to accede. Conversation in the room had become less clear as the sound of her beating heart had begun to echo more prominently within his ears. Her scent continued to flood his nostrils with equal force, tempting the vampire in his growing hunger as the heart-thump began to quicken and grow more deafening. Noah's eyes slipped close, opening a moment later to reveal the irises had dimmed to a pitch-dark obsidian.
