Cain enters the hospital room, examining Lita's body in a coma. He notices many different areas where it appears blood was taken, as well as skin samples and other types of medical testing. This concerns him. 2. Joanna enters the room and is shocked to see Cain there. She asks why he's in a patient's room, given that his assigned job is to work in the morgue. She snidely informs him that Lita, while unconscious, is not dead yet. 3. Donovan, listening at the door, scoffs at this, mentioning that Lita's alive no thanks to Joanna, who tried to kill her. 4. Leila immediately hushes Donovan before she realizes she's the only one who can see him. She whispers that they don't know for sure if Jo tried to kill Lita, or why the girl didn't stay dead. 5. Cain comments on the testing Joanna appears to be doing on Lita, and asks why a coma patient is going through so many invasive tests. He also asks why an ER doctor is out of the ER on one of the busiest nights of the year. 6. Joanna, frustrated, retorts to Cain's suspicions and dismisses them. She moves to Lita's bedside, examining her vitals, and marks them down on her chart. She notices an improvement from the day before, and is startled to notice Lita begin to stir. She quickly injects another serum into Lita's IV before she wakes up. 7. Donovan, had entered the room just in time to notice this. He announces it to Leila, who's still hiding outside of the room to avoid detection, and asks why a doctor would be keeping a coma patient in a coma if they appear to be fine. He rejoins Leila outside of the room. 8. Leila, who's still getting used to the 'ghost' business, tries to rationalize the doctor's actions. She suggests possible reasonings, but is stopped short when a nurse asks what Leila's doing. Leila immediately claims to be a friend of Lita's and enters her hospital room. 9. Cain recognizes Leila as a special interest to Edgar, and begins to understand the forces at play. Deciding to call out Joanna, he suggest to Leila that her 'friend', might be better off transferred to a different hospital. 10. Joanna tires quickly of all this and orders everyone to leave the room, on doctor's orders, citing that Lita is her patient. She advances on Leila and sternly informs her that visiting hours are over. 11. Donovan, in a burst of fury, rages against this, shouting again at the woman who killed him. The lights flicker once more, and suddenly the power goes out. In the darkness, he puts himself in front of Leila and attempts to shove Joanna, and is overwhelmingly surprised when he is able to touch her. He watches Joanna stumble back, then looks at his hands, wondering if he became visible. 12. Leila suddenly feels strange, a weird sensation overcoming her. Her stream of consciousness is pushed back, and suddenly she finds herself in the passenger seat as someone else controls her body. She rapidly realizes Donovan has possessed her, and begins to freak out. Unfortunately, she's unable to do anything about it, trapped inside her own body. 13. Cain watches as Joanna stumbles back, making no move to help. He focuses on the area where Donovan had stood, seeing nothing, but sensing ghostly forces at play. The hospital's generators kick in, casting the hospital in a strange light. He approaches Leila and looks at her intently, as if trying to peer into her soul. He asks who's 'inside' of her. 14. Joanna finds the entire situation to be weird and unsettling. She demands explanations, but her mind rapidly explains it away with rationality and logic. She suggests calling security to escort Leila out of the building. 15. Donovan, feeling a surge of power, decides to use his sudden possession to his advantage. As Leila, he moves forward, intimidating Joanna as best he can. He suggests he knows what she's done, and suggests that the truth will come out sooner or later. He then feels the consciousness of Leila begin to fight back, and decides to leave, exiting the hospital room as well as Leila's body. 16. Once free of Donovan's possession, Leila reacts. She's horrified at Donovan's violation and is furious at him. She doesn't allow him a chance to apologize and storms away. 17. Cain reacts to the information at hand, and notices that Joanna seems disturbed. He suggests she start cleaning up her messes before they come back to haunt her, and makes his own exit, armed with new information and new possibilities to share with Edgar. FYK: After Lita 'returned' to life, a nurse informed Michelle of the miraculous recovery. Before Michelle could see Lita conscious, however, Joanna injected her with a serum to keep her 'asleep'. She's been keeping an eye on Lita, putting her into a medically induced coma, to conduct research on her strange seemingly regenerative qualities. She's become quite obsessed with the case, and certainly didn't expect to get caught. Donovan and Leila have been working together to solve his own murder, but until tonight he never knew he could 'possess' someone.
