Episode Two; Scene 9

Release Date: July 24th, 2013 Setting: Cemetery (heavy rainfall, no thunder/lightning)Time: Early Evening (sunset) - After Trista's Funeral -Renee stands at Trista's grave, unsure of how to react. Inside, her heart is in a tangle of emotions, and she's having difficulty coping. -Grayson, helping Leon carry the coffin, sees Renee from a distance and questions who she is. -Leon remarks that he doesn't quite care. The Celestial funeral was harder to deal with than he had imagined, and he's still trying to cope with his own loss. -At the car, Amy is struggling with a broken umbrella, turned inside out because of wind. She asks Amara for help, only to see that Amara's already on the move. Amy stumbles after her.-Amara walks towards the grave with no concern for the rain. She passes the boys, and moves directly to Renee. Before she can even turn around, she sends a burst of air in Renee's direction. -Renee topples into the open grave face first. She picks herself up and stares up at Amara, and demands an explanation.-Grayson sees this and drops the coffin to stop Amara from doing anything further. -Leon is halted, watching the coffin split open and spill all of Trista's mementos to the soggy ground. He watches it happen in a numb stupor, and reminisces the first time he met her.-Amy is running after Amara, but stops when she sees Leon. She moves to hold his hand, gently comforting him. She remarks that this is the hardest thing any of them will have to do, but it will get better. -Renee, meanwhile, tries to free herself from the grave. She's frustrated and angry and wet and stuck six feet under and is ultimately not happy.-Amara remarks that Renee is a demon and a demon doesn't deserve to be near Trista's grave. She informs Renee that Trista would be disgusted by her now. She almost carelessly sends another burst of wind, keeping constant pressure on Renee. -Grayson stops her, yelling that Trista wouldn't want violence at her grave. -Leon abandons the mementos and remarks that this is not Trista's grave. This is only for them, so that they selfishly have a place to shove her away and forget.-Amy was trying to regather the mementos, but hearing Leon's apathy gets angry. She marches over and slaps Leon. She informs him that the grave is to honor Trista, not compartmentalize her in a cemetery. -Renee snaps at them all, nearly crying, and explains how much she hates them. She blames them for what she is, what happened to Trista, and what's going to happen when she gets her revenge. -Amara remarks that no one cares about a child's revenge, and mentions that Renee can't even get out of a grave. -Grayson moves to help Renee, remarking that the kid doesn't look like any demon he saw.-Instead of accepting help, Renee uses her ability to burn Grayson, who immediately recoils.-Leon takes Grayson's gun and shoots Renee, then remarks they head home. He's got something important he needs to work on.FYK: This takes place at the cemetery where Trista's headstone marks her grave. There's a empty grave waiting for a coffin, which is currently located in the back of Grayson's van. Instead of a body, it holds the mementos left on the altar from the Celestial Training Gym. The headstone and burial plot are in an isolated area of the cemetery, and was given to the Celestials for free by a caretaker who's life had once been saved by Trista. Leon and Grayson arrive together, followed by Amy and Amara in Amara's car. Renee is already at the gravestone when they arrive.

Episode Two; Scene 7

Release Date: July 24th, 2013 Setting: Underworld, Ivy's Chambers (thunderstorms)Time: Evening - Midafternoon - Day of Trista's funeral -Ivy begins the meeting by casually stating the obvious: Gideon is becoming an inefficient leader, and it's time they do something about it. -Luke grumbles his disbelief. Ivy, until then, had been acting as Gideon's perfect second-in-command. He asks what changed. -Seth answers for Ivy. He doesn't appreciate being 'called' into an audience with Ivy, and decides to use his ability on her to extract her fears. He reveals that Ivy is jealous of being replaced. -Ivy threatens him, and announces how untrue that is. She declares Gideon is free to do what he wants, so long as it benefits the underworld. This, he has neglected to do.-Luke rolls his eyes at the other demons, finding them over-dramatic and annoying. He points out what HE believes is obvious: Seth is leading a Resistance against Gideon. -Seth quickly interjects that he has no interest in leading anything, and reminds them that the demonic peons would follow anything that is even remotely effective in killing Celestials. -Ivy reminds him that this is her point, and suggests they join forces to form a stronger resistance. Together, she and Seth would lead an army against Gideon.-Luke has no patience for the desires of the 'higher ups'. He questions what his part in all of this would be. -Seth, his attention called to Luke, tries to garner Luke's ultimate fear, but finds it hard to grasp. He suggests Luke is nothing but a toy to Ivy, and that he should grow his own backbone. -Luke laughs at this and makes a joke designed to offend Seth. He mentions that he doesn't care about what Ivy thinks of him, so long as he's able to continue his life as is.-Ivy approves of her lackey and praises him. -Luke has had a long day and isn't willing to accept the praise. He insults Ivy.-Ivy, furious, creates a darkness portal in the middle of his chest, and reaches her arm in to grab his heart. -Seth is casually surprised by this display, having not expected this type of power from Ivy. He calmly expresses his approval. -Luke is wracked with the worst pain he can think to experience. -Ivy begins to gently squeeze on his heart, reminding him of what she did for him, releasing him from his early concerns. She demands nothing in return except for his respect and unfailing obedience. She asks if she's clear, then releases him. -Luke, choking and sputtering, falls to the floor. His body is unharmed, but he remains partially in shock. He begins to rethink his loyalties to Ivy, but shows no sign of this. -Seth, meanwhile, starts to applaud. He sarcastically informs Ivy that after seeing how well she treats her lackeys, he'd love to join her cause. -Ivy reminds him that it's about power, not kindness, and that Ivy clearly has a lot. -Seth agrees, and casually accepts her proposal to work together. -Ivy, pleased, states that she has an idea and tells Seth she's about to introduce her first plan. -Luke leaves, saying that they can contact him when they need him. FYK: Ivy has calmed down after her altercation with Gideon and has found herself resuming planning mode. Luke was just returning from almost being arrested when she summons him to a meeting (he used his ability on the officer to avoid incarceration). Seth has just returned from the incident in the alley, when Ivy pulls them into a meeting.

He finds, however, the store entrance to be locked.-Rem puzzles on this, because it's early enough to still be open. The storm is starting to pick up, and she quickly dismisses the idea and suggests they find shelter.-Maddie remains halted in front of the door. She's been to the Old Curiosity Shop many times before and it's almost never been closed. She begins to sense something is wrong.-Andrew senses Maddie's worry, and uses his ice to freeze over the lock on the door.-Rem tries to stop this, afraid of getting arrested and charged for breaking and entering.-Maddie ignores her concerns and immediately heads inside. Everything initially appears to be fine, and she starts to relax.-Andrew says a few kind words about Trista, then starts to stop the hands of each clock, as if immortalizing that moment in time just for her.-Rem reluctantly relaxes as well, though she's careful to look out for anyone approaching.-Maddie starts to notice some darker colors around the objects she normally recognitions as unthreatening. To Maddie, the air itself appears to be breathing around her. She looks up.-An oversized bat-like demon lets out a shriek and flaps it's wings. -Andrew is hit by one of the wings and is knocked across the room.-Rem pulls out a knife she always keeps on her, but relents the lack of shotgun. -Maddie runs, whether trying to seek cover or a proper weapon, she's unsure. She calls out a warning to the others, and grabs one of the antiques to toss to Rem as a better weapon.-Andrew recovers in time to begin using his ice to defend the girls, though the creature easily shatters anything he throws at it.-Suddenly the creature begins beating at the roof of the store until it causes the ceiling to fall in. The creature starts to fly away.-Andrew, not missing a beat, sends a large burst of ice at it's wings, freezing them and sending the creature plummeting back to earth.-Rem is about to be crushed by bits of falling ceiling and large bat thing, but for a fraction of a moment, the falling is halted. Without stopping to puzzle over this, Rem crawls out of the impact zone. The moment she's safe, the demon falls.-Maddie emerges with another antique and this time uses it ingeniously to kill the demon officially.FYK: Earlier, on her way back from Coventry, Rem to gather an ETA they'd all meet up for the Funeral. Maddie informed Rem of their new plans, and Rem agreed to forgo the official funeral and have one for Trista along with Maddie and Andrew. They all meet up at the Olde Curiosity Shop.

She asks if everything is alright, and questions Amara's location. -Daphne offers to give them some privacy, and claims that she will be in her office. She retreats, though hides within earshot to listen to the conversation. -Once Daphne is gone, Michelle explains herself, informing Hannah of her vision, her belief that Trista is still alive, and how she was able to sketch an image that might be a clue. -Hannah asks to see the image, points out that it's the symbol for infinity, then brainstorms with Michelle as to what it might mean. -Michelle points out that it's obviously the symbol of infinity, and asks if Hannah had noticed it before in any of the other Watcher Diaries. -Daphne hears this and remembers the symbol for infinity marked on Edgar's chest. -Hannah suggests they go to Celestial Training Gym to look up the symbol. -Michelle declines, stating that she can't go while they're having a funeral. -Hannah accepts this, and suggests they go to the library. -Michelle is hesitant to believe Hannah's willingness to help, and asks why Hannah is so readily able to pass on attending the funeral. -Hannah's answer is simple: If Michelle believes Trista is alive, Hannah believes it too. -Michelle reacts to this, and expresses her gratitude towards her watcher. -Daphne eavesdrops on this reaction with mixed feelings. Daphne suddenly senses an immediate pulling sensation. Daphne is horrified to recognize the feeling as her Maia senses recognizing a celestial in danger. -Hannah tells Michelle she just needs to fix an issue with her boss, and then they can leave. She heads to the hall and is surprised to see Daphne there. -Recovering quickly, Daphne mentions that she was just coming to tell Hannah that the printing issue was fixed. She tries to push her Watcher sense away. -Michelle appears behind Hannah and asks if Daphne is okay, since she appears to be struggling with something. -Daphne casually mentions that she's had a rough day, says goodbye, and hastily retreats to her office. -Hannah and Michelle agree to head to the library together, with the blog ending on Hannah vaguely mentioning that she's been meaning to ask Michelle something about the wedding. Michelle has been looking for Hannah as a last resort to get someone to listen to her about Trista.

He gives her a weak and awkward greeting. -Dominick immediately charges Gregory, not willing to pass up the opportunity to kill a werewolf in their weak human form. -Raye, recognizing Gregory as Amy's old watcher and ex-boyfriend, instinctively moves on the defense. She prevents Dom from accessing Greg. -Dominick is surprised at the girl's eagerness to defend the werewolf, and claims he's only there to protect her from the man eating beast behind her. -Gregory, relieved by Raye's unexpected defense, explains he has no desire to hurt Dom or Raye or anyone else and asks Dominick to back off. -Dominick laughs at this, and informs them both that it's his job to take down monsters like him. They do, moving to the conference room from earlier. -Cain is still concerned of Trista's absence and Bastian's defiance. He figures that Trick must be with them, and reveals that he doesn't trust those Order members. -Asher, angry and annoyed but ultimately unharmed, tosses the scissors back at Benedikt. THE TRIBE OF THE MARE CAMPGROUND

Iron Man

06/22/2013 12:18 PM

Malibu Home, Retreat II

https://www.ironmanarmory.com/retreat.htmlOnce upon a time, in his "part time lover" days, Stark had set himself up with a rather luxurious cliffside home in California. He had dubbed it "The Retreat", because for as ostentatious as the house was, it was Tony's hiding place. His bethel. He had kept the home, despite maybe some renovations after super villain fights, until the horrifically cumbersome issue with Onslaught came about years ago. Stark kept the property, though. His fortune had been stripped from him recently, but he had been successful at suing back the rights to much of it. On the original land as the old Retreat, Stark had quietly built a new home with funds from a new company and a recouped fortune. He had also renovated the lab facility beneath, greatly. So now the old land on the old cliff and the old memories had a new, slick, updated lodging atop.  In some sense, most of it had been built as an experiment in "the home of the future"; every new or prototype technology that Stark delighted in was implemented into the home.  Be at ever some humble...      The green goo fridge fridge was one of Tony's favorite innovations.  Though, few other guests had the courage to try it, so it mostly became his personal cooler.  https://www.geekosystem.com/zero-energy-refrigerator-green-goo/ His very own see-through bee hive had also been installed somewhere new the kitchen, into one of the large window.  https://www.popsci.com/gadgets/article/2011-11/sleek-urban-beehive-concept-attaches-honeybee-colonies-apartment-windows Also in the kitchen, opposite side of the bedrooms, is new prototype aquaponics biosphere kit, which simultaneously grows fresh herbs, plans, and tilapia.  https://youtu.be/Au2Bueiy6MQ?t=8m But, most important was the full gym, sauna, and spa facilities built into one wing of the home, just below the master bedroom and suites on the floor above.  The gym area contained weights, cardio machines, and a full boxing ring.  Adjacent to the gym, however, was the sauna and a small Dornbracht-designed horizontal rain shower.  The horizontal shower was the newest addition to the home, and Stark had personally instructed that "after a work out, it should feel so good you think you have to cook it eggs in the morning."  https://www.dornbracht.com/en-US/Products/Bath-and-Spa/Horizontal-Shower.aspx (The gym and parts of the sauna and spa facility can be seen overlooking the pool if you pay close attention to the background during the Rhodey vs Tony fight scene in Iron Man 2.) And, the pool and jacuzzi were outdoors, just beyond the gym and spa facilities.  These were nested just at the very edge of the cliff, with a perimeter of safety railing, to overlook the Pacific Ocean. Below the home was Tony Stark's garage and lab assembly complex.  The original property had included a huge two-stage lab and manufacturing center underground, which was expanded upon and updated with modern equipment.  The layout of the lab is largely modular, so as to have space be rearranged and configured as needed.  There is a multi-purpose test chamber, large 3D printers and automated fabrication equipment, and assembly areas.  The lab and workshop area can be accessed by the (armored) garage door, the cargo elevator at the edge of the property, or from the proper entrance inside the home.  There was/is also an underwater entrance to the lab. Currently the upper deck is a main staging area, armory, and also garage.  Below that is the second stage of the lab, a large fabrication, storage, and utility level. Included into this underground area was the home's power plant, where four huge Repulsor Generators (Arc Reactors) provided ample power to the home itself and enough extra power to shunt into the California electrical grid and sell to the local electric company.  The home's power plant was able to dump so much energy into Malibu that a small power-substation had to be built at the edge of the property to manage it, accessible by the local electric company.  Selling so much energy to the local electric company helped offset the cost of the home. Security wise?  A special armor, an update to the Telepresence Armor, was rebuilt and put back to use as a "guard dog."  This suit stays on the premise in the event of attack or security alarm.  Unlike other armors, this suit has no pilot cavity, and is completely filled with weapons and equipment, and is programmed to be very protective of the property...   Mobile sensor nodes and clusters were placed throughout the grounds outside (detecting visual, highly-sensitive audio, infrared, and backscatter x-ray).  The windows were made from reinforced metallic glass and could repel cannon fire.  Access to the lab and home was dependent on possessing the proper digital encryption pass, or by persons identified by biorhythm scans.  These scans include skeletal resonance, a method Stark favors because hardly anyone's heard of it and no one's figured out how to counterfeit yet.  In this application, when attempting to enter the home, sound code is transmitted from the floor panels, through the individuals body, and into the keypad which listens and verifies the access pin number or a palm print scanner.  Tony Stark would be notified immediately if any alarm was tripped.  (For details on the armor and tech's specific security measures, please see my Hall Of Armors blog.)  The home is controlled by a private node of the J.A.R.V.I.S. A.I.

Because she was still in Mexico at the time, Lita figured it wouldn't be too much out of journey if she stopped in California on the drive home. She knew Mina was working as a performer, but did not expect that type of performance. Trick finds the entire situation highly amusing, and his amusement is not helping ease the tension. Mina hasn't told anyone about her job, and is horrified to see her old life invading her new one.
