Task XXXVI

There were many types of kisses. There were kisses one received on the playground when they were little, and gulped their chocolate milk just to get rid of the cooties from it. There were kisses on the forehead or cheek from a parent or guardian. There were kisses between friends, and kisses just because. Then there were kisses that actually meant something. Unfortunately, not all memorable kisses were good. For Whitney Collins, the most memorable kiss of her life was actually her biggest mistake. Her most significant kiss occurred in a place she had no business being: a wedding chapel. It had started like any other day. Whitney was on vacation to enjoy herself and take her mind off of her parents' death and everything else that had happened to her recently. She was finally old enough to drink-- legally, anyway-- and had celebrated by slipping into one of the hottest clubs in Vegas. Throughout that night, she hadn't bought a single drink for herself. Man after man had bought her a drink, and her head was swimming long before her first hour had even ended. Then, when she was about to head elsewhere, a hand on her arm had stopped her. "Room for one more?" purred a voice in her ear. Whitney had whirled around, coming face to face with one of the most handsome men she had ever met. He had caught her as she stumbled into him, and she had surprised herself by not vomiting at the stench of booze. Maybe that was her, though. Whitney tried to shake her head to say no, but then she realized: what could one more drink hurt? She wasn't too drunk to walk; one drink would be fine. So she allowed this stranger to buy her a drink. He led her to a table in the back and they talked for what seemed like hours. They came from similar families, enjoyed the same activities, and didn't seem to be that different at all. Whitney didn't even mind when she found her dress in a heap on the floor an hour later, because it was one kiss, one night, and one drink. What was the worst that could happen? The following morning, after a delicious breakfast of sausage, eggs, and turkey bacon, Whitney's bed buddy surprised her by offering to show her around Vegas, and take her to all of the best clubs. She remembered wanting so badly to enjoy herself, and since none of her friends had been able to come, she eagerly accepted. Somehow, during a theater performance, she found herself accepting a marriage proposal, her head fuzzy from the lust (or alcohol, as she later discovered). They had gotten married that same day, hastily signing the marriage certificate and eagerly consummating the relationship in the very same hotel room. Two weeks after meeting someone, Whitney was married. She quickly came to her senses, and requested an annulment. When he refused, Whitney paid him two million dollars to leave her alone, obtained his signature, and returned home to New York. Little did she know that that one kiss that night in the bar would lead to her near rape and murder just six months later, when her accidental husband returned to her side, claiming that he never signed anything, and that he didn't remember her paying him. Whitney hated herself for it. If she hadn't shared that one kiss, they would have never slept together, nor would they have ever gotten married, and she wouldn't have a death threat looming over her head. For Whitney Collins, her most significant kiss was also her greatest mistake.

The coming of Sleipnir-

Loki's RamblingsThe coming of SleipnirLoki~God of Mischief-ζ◊ค -I would tell you a little story! It is a story I have been meaning to tell, maybe a hundred different times. Yet when I start to write...Well maybe something's are just to hard to explain! So let me start by saying this. Every villain is a hero, within his own mind!Many things Midgardian's take for truth, like the worth or alignment, good or bad of those they would call Gods. It doesn't matter if they have not witnessed the event, or seen first hand the creation of such marvelous tales or hero's. Much, is words passed down though centuries. Generations have listened to in awe relaying the tales from mouth to mouth, mind to mind; and so they have become gospel! Each God assuming their given role in any tale, their own station within the mythology of Midgard. Am I saying this is contrite? ..No...Its just what it is... Something each of us, might face on any given day with the decisions we might make.One son who doesn't want the throne, another who wanted it too much. Is that really Odin's legacy? Perhaps what I shall tell you, will make you question what you thought to believe truth-----------------------------For many Ages war had raged between the Jotuniheim Frost Giants and Asgard. To explain the origins of this war, I would have to tell events that pre-dated back to when Odin and his brothers Vili and Ve, killed Ymir; the first ever Frostgiant. An account of History I do not believe you have time to read this day, or for me to have the time to tell.Now one day, not long after Odin had built Valhalla , word reached Asgard of an impending attack that was being planned upon the realm Eternal. The FrostGiant's were massing an army of immense size and if successfully, it would seal Asgard's doom! Bringing forth Ragnarok ages earlier then had ever been imagines or realized. Resource were short in Asgard, with the God's and Odin's, attention having been focused upon the creation of Valhalla.So is it not safe to surmise that a meeting was held. A meeting all within Asgard, attended! Upon commencement of this meeting, there came a visitor. A giant amongst men! A stone Mason by trade.He claimed he had the answer to Asgard's problem. A way to stop the Frost Giants from ever being a threat again. Through three seasons, he would build a wall; that would tower high into the sky surrounding Asgard safely within! Asgard rejoiced in the news! The solution it seemed was perfect, that was until the Stonemason stated his price.He would ask for the Goddess Freyja's hand in marriage, the sun and the moon! Asgard in deed, did despair!It is true, then I did step forward. It was I whom proposed to Odin, that we barter in this deal. Instead of threes season, that it be done in one! That we allow the Stone mansion the use of his horse.Was it not a fair assumption that he, the stone mason would never complete the task? Yet leave the foundations for his wall, for the God's themselves to then build upon?At the time it felt the only plausible option, a way to get what Asgard needed. One that would not see the 'perturbed Freya' wedded against her will and would still ensure Asgard was well upon its way to securing its borders also.I alone can not make a decision. I can only offer suggestions. Especially when it comes to the fate of so many. It was not my hand that forced the other God's to agree. That decision should have fallen upon their own shoulders as like the old Midardian saying go's - You can lead a Horse to water, but you can not make it drink- In the days that followed it soon became obvious that the Stone mason had fooled us all. Indeed he was in fact a FrostGiant, and his Horse; A Stallion named Svaoilfari was no normal horse. Yet still Odin and the other Gods relished in amazement at how quickly the Wall that would protect them all, was forming around Asgard. Each night the Stone Mason and Svaoilfari would enter the Forests. Each night, Svaoilfari would be seen hauling massive boulder after boulder, back for the Stone Mason to place with precision upon the ever growing wall. While we, all of us! Sat back and did nothing! As Winter began to draw to a close, it became obvious that the Stone Mason would keep his end of the bargain. It was then I found myself dragged before Odin! Accused of trickery, of deceit! Trickery and deceit of what!... I now ask you... Did they not have eyes, to see for themselves? Did i in any way force their hands? Was Odin not capable of doing anything, while he whiled away the long winter days with his son Thor at side, Drinking mead and relishing in the power they believed was righteously bestowed upon them? I ask you now... Is it not easier to lay the blame elsewhere? To save ones pride, by pointing a finger at another? To cast away your guilt so easy and fool yourself into thinking, it was never your fault?And so it was. As I had been the one to suggest, that Stone Mason build the wall in one Season; rather then three. A suggestion that was greedily relished by all at the time. I was deemed to be the one to fix Asgard's problem! To stop the Stonemason from completing his task. So he would then forfeit his bargain. What of the mighty Odin - of Thor you may well ask? It would be safe presume that they stayed hidden, safely behind Asgard's new walls!The evening was crisp and the sky was clear. The first signs of spring adorned the Forests edge and I stood pondering deeply on how to stop the Mason as I watched him, prepare Svaoilfari for the last night of their task. I had vowed, that I would save Freyja, the sun and the moon. That I would save Asgard!Each day I had watched Svaoilfari haul the boulders for the Stonemason. Marveled at the strength of the Horse and how quickly the Mason was able to piece together the wall due to the unyielding strength of the Stallion. It was obvious, to any whom had cared to watch. Without Svaoilfari, the Mason would have never succeeded! Oh... I have heard the many jokes made at my expense for my actions that night. The taunts, the laughter, but i will ask you this!...Did hiding behind Asgard's Walls save Asgard, Freyja; the sun and the moon that night?Or did I... In the form of a mare, galloping through forests over hills and vales, while Svaoilfari and the Mason chased close behind. As the first rays of drawn broke casting away the night sky still I ran,ensuring the mason forfeited the bargain. Until with exhaustion, I could run no more...The Mason, realizing he had been tricked, made his way back to Asgard's Gates and voiced his anger.Only then did Odin call him to be a FrostGiant! And thus, sent forth Thor, to strike the already exhausted Mason over the head with Mjolnir. As the Mason's head shattered, Asgard celebrated Thor as its Protector and Saviour.In the months that past.. No one came looking for me. No one mentioned my name, unless of course it was in passing blame.You may ask why I returned?... Why I gave Odin, Sleipnir? Perhaps it was to remind Odin every day of his own cowardliness... Of whom really saved Asgard! Perhaps it was to show him how wrong his legacy really was. That I never really wanted the Throne...I only ever wanted to be equally deserving, of Odin's love.. As he had deemed Thor to be...

Prologue Part II - Saying adieu always hurts

Prologue Part II: Saying adieu always hurts After Master Jemrin`s death and Ma`Khinas outburst in which she had killed two Siths and three imperial soldiers, the Twi`lek left the planet. Master Jemrin`s ship, a defender-class light corvette, was not stationed far away from the battle but the padawan still needed hours to reach it. Her left leg was badly injured from the cut the Sith-apprentice had caused her. It was not bleeding. Gladly lightsabers cauterized the wound directly after causing it. But there was still the pain and the feeling as something big was missing on her thigh now which was the reason why she could only hobble to the ship. Her two lightsabers dangled on her belt. They felt heavier as normally. But well.. in this moment, everything felt heavier, like carrying an extra burden. As she reached Master Jemrin`s ship a small astromech rolled down the ramp, greeting Ma`Khina with some happy whistles. But the happiness soon disappeared as the droid recognized that Master Jemrin was not with her. Slowly the Twi`lek hobbled up the ramp passing her friend who was looking out for the older Jedi. ``Come in, T7.. he won`t come.`` Her voice was as weak as her body felt. Some appalled peeps from the astromech as he slowly rolled back into the ship. Ignoring the pain in her leg Ma`Khina went down on one knee, gently laying a hand on T7's head. ``My friend.. Master Jemrin left us and.. and he won`t come back.`` Tears welled up in her eyes. Holding her breath she tried to fight them back but they were stronger. While the astromech gave some low long sounds, similar with human sighs, the Twi`lek cried in front of him.

A short time later, the light corvette lifted up and left the planet. Ma`Khina sat in the medic bay, pressing a Kolto-pack onto her thigh. The blue healing liquid was already working on her wound. Looking at all those bruises, cuts and other injuries covering her body she would rather need a bath in a Kolto-tank but for now this should be just enough. T7 was in the cockpit, controlling the navigation system and for the moment, the Twi`lek had some time for herself. Laying back on the sickbed she finally found some rest. Each muscle in her slim body ached and for the first time she felt the exhaustion of the battle. But she could not sleep. Her thoughts spin around the fights and the death of her Jedi Master. He had been everything to her. He had always been there since the day she could hold a lightsaber in her small hands. Normally, when a Jedi died, he became one with the force and his body vanished. But Master Jemrin`s corpse still laid on the ground of this planet, when Ma`Khina had left him. That gnawed at her conscience even more. Ma`Khina and T7 spend the next days in silence. It was soon clear, that the Padawan did not want to go back to Tython or Coruscant. So, the astromech programmed a course to Voss, a neutral world in the war between empire and republic and a perfect place to hide for some time. Three days have passed since Master Jemrin`s death. The wound on Ma`Khina`s leg healed perfectly and, thanks to the Kolto-pack, there was not even a scar left. She just sat with T7 in the cockpit to check their route as she suddenly felt it. A soft tingle in the back of her mind. The force tried to speak to her. Something warm gently brushed over her naked shoulder and she looked confused at it - but there was nothing. `Just my imagination.. nothing more or less` she thought sadly. But something in the back of her mind told her, that it wasn`t just her imagination. There was more behind it. The touch on her shoulder has felt familiar. ``T7.. I`m in my room. Please call me if anything is wrong, okay?`` said this the young Twi`lek raised up and left the cockpit. After all those days filled with sadness and tears it was now time for her to say goodbye and make a cut. In her room she lightened up a few candles and turned off the lights. Although her thigh hurt sometimes she still knelt down on the floor, ignoring the pain. Taking a deep breath she closed her eyes. Over the last days the pictures of the battle have haunted her like a curse. Now she wanted to lock those images away, those memories. Clean her heart and her mind. Taking a deep breath she concentrated and slowly she wandered back to the day of the battle. Repeating the fights in her mind. Each spoken word clearly in her ears again. Each move she had made. The shock when she saw Master Jemrin laying dead on the ground. She went through it all again. But this time she was stronger. She had her feelings under control and with this she was able to put all those memories into a small chest. Lock it. And hide it far far away in the back of her mind. As soon as she had finished the procedure she sighed a deep breath of relief. Slowly she opened her eyes again, tears running down her cheeks.

Swallowing down the lump in her throat she removed her two lightsabers off her belt. ``With this.. I do not just only lock away those memories.. I also lock away my past.. a part of myself`` she muttered with a weak voice while staring down on the hilts in her hands. Did she really want to give it all up? ``Yes.. I have never been ready for this fight or for the force. I was not strong enough to save my Master. All in all I am a shame as a Jedi!`` said this Ma`Khina placed the hilts in a small box, gently stroking over the metallic frame. Then she put a holo-photography of Master Jemrin in the box. ``Master, you have always been there for me. You were an inspiration, a mentor and a teacher for me. But most of all.. you were my best friend. A family. It..`` her voice shook. Sighing deeply she collected some new strength for this what she wanted to say. ``.. nothing last forever. . . It was my fault that you had to die. If I had been stronger. . . you would still be alive.`` With shaking hands Ma`Khina closed the little box and locked it. Then she shoved it under her bed and hid it behind a metal frame. ``I will keep in mind, what you taught me, Master. I will respect your lessons and the code but. . . I will never trust or use the force again.`` With this, she wiped away those tears which were running down her cheeks. The Twi'lek ignored the gently touch on her shoulder. For her, it all ended here. This was a cut in her life. She would leave her past behind. This was a new beginning

Jotunheim-

'Sometimes we have to do things to preserve our own sanity' it wasn't really something he relished thinking. The truth was it hurt. Hurt a lot.' Ironic, he should be used to it by now, how did you ever get used to it!' The wind whipped upon his hair sending the tails of his coat into a frenzy around his legs. Snow and ice clung in a bid to freeze his hair stiff and his skin blue. ' Ironic!' Everything around him seemed ironic. That was the bitter truth of it all. Before him Jotunheim stretched out. Stark, bare and ruined it had been called many things when compared to Asgard. Never matching up. Never quite fitting in amongst the beauty of the other Kingdoms that surrounded it. It was just like him. like him, like the Frost Giants, it stood a relic of the past a reminder of what once was.The ravaged land, shattering pillars of rock and ice made fragile within the torrential wind. The bleak landscape of ice and snow stretching as far as the eyes could see. Desolate. Silent except for the wind to remind him of his thoughts. He could never explain his thoughts and feelings. What he felt for this land. The sadness and destruction that lay hidden beneath the snow and within the shelter of the white capped mountain peaks.In his mind it was bitter sweet. A fragile beauty. It was his solace. The one true place he could take off the masks he wore. The deep snow and ice hide all the hurts all the scars of the ravaged land. Here he could face the bitter cold and let his heart cry out. Face the hurts that burdened his soul and take refuge. It was him. His own special sanctuary that reflect his own mind within its landscape. It harboured his many hurts, like secrets he had wielded, each and everyone, while they hide out of sight behind his many masks until he could bring them home to Jotunheim and let the wind take them, bury them beneath the snow, where it would. In Jotunheim, he felt at home-

Time to Play- Divergent - Loki EOA

It hadn't taken long to find this woman. Not with Dylann trying to keep up at his side. The Building rose up before them like a tower. An emphasis upon the power that they believed they had over the other factions. Raising his eyes Loki's brow etched with a malicious smirk. ' If she thought she was powerful, she would soon seen exactly how wrong she was!' Turning he glanced towards Dylann at his side and lifted his hand, pressing a finger to his lips, in indication from this point on, if she was to follow him, she should remain silent. An illusion was only as good as those whom participated within its making. If they faltered, then so the illusion would falter, allowing those whom were at its mercy to see through it; and to its undoing. Lowering his hand with a slight wave of his fingers, the air about them both began to move and vibrate. Shifting within its tiny particles to create an illusion of invisibility. Like a cloak it surrounded them, the frenzied particles slowly falling in spirals to floor around them as Dylann and Loki, seemed to disappear into thin air without a trace.Unperturbed Loki made his way forward. Taking the grey stone steps in twos that lead up to the double glass doors of the Erudite headquarters. With the constant self assured communing of the Erudite, it was effortless to manoeuvre their way about the building. So engrossed, within their studies and books; they paid no heed to the slight wind that passed them by or brushed up against them within the crowded elevators. Coming to the end of a steel panelled Hallway, Loki paused before the two large sliding metal doors. The Guards obviously Dauntless, from their attire of black and self assured prose of invincibility stood silent their looks as vacant as the Hallway before them seemed to be. Pausing he contemplated how easy it would be, to simply do away with them. The sheer ignorance, that this Midgardian Faction seemed to posses. Believing themselves to be courageous, fearless indestructible? Now what a game that would be, to show them all the error of their thinking and have them all succumb to the ultimate truth as they cowered kneeling before him. The sudden quiet swoosh of the steel doors sliding open instantly broke his chain of thoughts and with no hesitation, Loki strode forward, entering into the testing rooms with the malicious smirk once more firmly etched upon his brow. Ignorance was bliss or so it seemed to those whom were busy working within. Fussing over their lit up panels of that flashes statistics and the faces information of those whom had come before or been eradicated in their search for the one ultimate divergent. Slowly Loki's eyes travelled across the room. His taking in at a glance the many faces they had already eliminated or sought upon the panels. The manor in which they worked, almost in fear, their apprehension could been seen in the tilt of their shoulders, The side ways cautious glances they sneaked towards the woman as she paced back and forth before them. Her zealous confidence and insolence hung like whips around their necks. Yes they were scared of her, that was obvious to see. This Jeanine Matthew's had learned well, how to manipulate those around her, so she might rise up above them and control them, to beget her own fear of failure back upon them!'Perhaps once, she was pretty ' Loki found himself musing thoughtfully, but that was long past. He saw through her illusion. The air of confident control. The need to be someone, To lead and have power, he saw how it consumed her! and now she would reap what she had she had sowed.---------------------------------------------------No one noticed the slight shift in temperature as the air within the room began to vibrate, picking up speed velocity it moved weaving in patters that surrounded each face, each body clinging like micro-organisms to their skin; absorbed through their pores like a toxin unto their minds.The air seemed thick yet she did not notice. Absorbed her mind screamed for her ultimate goal. The over all power to quell her fears. Fears she would lose control. Control of all she had gained, of the power she now held over overs. She did not notice the room had changed. It now watched, listening to her every thought through green eyes. She didn't notice the slight shift upon her vision so subtle it was fixed in place within a simple blink of her eyes until it was too late. Till suddenly her power of control was taken from her.Turning to glance more intently at the statistics she had demanded to placed upon the screen. She faltered. The smell, It made her gag, how had she not noticed it, the unquenchable aroma of death, rotting flesh. Had a rodent wandered behind the dashboard to die? Its rotting carcass slowly seeping its fluids to coat the wires and stain the metal in shades of its decaying flesh? Clenching her gullet she lifted her head and turned resisting her sudden urge to vomit by quickly swallowing her regurgitated lunch as it seared the back of her throat with its warmth."What is that smell! FIX IT!" she demanded calling for the attention of everyone within the room. "Are you imbeciles! FIND IT! Before it does any damage to the program!" Instantly the chair's began to swivel, It never paid to keep her waiting! Her justice for such tardiness was always dealt with swift and harsh. Frantically they began to sniff, unaware of anything offensive to the nose. Rising quickly they began to moved about the room. Avidly searching, constantly aware of her growing agitation. Their face as they turned.The sightless eyes. They stared accusingly at her through their milky white iris's. The rotting grey flesh bruised crimson in places where their blood had pooled cooling with their death. Faces she knew well. They had been her hopes. The ones she had hoped would be the one true Divergent that could open the box and revile the power to all means. Those whom had failed and paid with their life's at her hands. Quickly they began to rise, their bloated skin splitting as they tried to manoeuvre agilely around her. 'It isn't real' she tried to tell herself, seeing hundreds of Divergent's control their fears with those three simple words. Only to have them all stop. Turn their decaying bodies towards her The blackened mouths rotting teeth smiling back unto her 'but it is' they seemed to chant in unison forming one voice . Reaching out confused, they tried to calm her. Something was wrong, what had gotten into her? why was she suddenly acting so strange- Like clawed bones, blackened the flesh hung clinging to the rotting tendons of their hands as they reached out, scraping clawing at her skin smearing her clothes her shoulders with the decaying faeces of their rotting flesh."No!" she screamed pushing them with force back from her as she felt the contents of her stomach rising . Turning she bolted for the nearest bin. It was a simulation a test! It had to be! But who and how? It couldn't be real...could it. like a torrent the contents of her stomach exploded into the bin. The heated smell tainted to her senses, yet preferable over the stench of decaying flesh that now coated her clothes and clung to her hair. Closing her eyes, she slowly lowered the bin bringing a hand up to wipe her mouth, " You will pay for this! YOU WILL ALL PAY FOR THIS!" she snarled, unprepared to release her hold upon the bin."I think we already have!" A voice responded. Its tone vaguely familiar even through the rasping gurgle of its breath. Her heart stopped in an instant; it seemed to explode outwards within her chest. ' No!... It couldn't be! There was no coming back! he was dead!' Dropping the bin she turned.Before their eyes he appeared like magic out of thin air. But he was dead! Everyone knew Harrison was dead! Jeanine had made sure everyone knew! She had gloated placed his dead body on display, plastering across the faction billboards like a trophy! They felt their own fear rising. Heard their screams as their bodies moved trying to cast distance between what could possibly not be real and Jeanine Matthews.Slowly the figure of Harrison dragged its lifeless body in a forced walk towards her. Black congealing blood seeping from the many bullet wounds that lay exposed between the tattered mud clogged remains of his shirt. " Tell me" his lifeless eyes seemed to mock her. Mock her fear. " How do you sleep at night!" he continued the bones in his neck cracking as it tilted almost curiously to the side. Aghast she shook her head, stepping back until she felt the cold hard surface of technical table blocking her retreat. 'NO its not real your dead!" she forced herself to scream. while her words caught in faltered whimpers, within her throat."Well i guess your right about that!" Harrison continued to unwittingly mock her raising his hand to emphasise upon the many blood soaked holes that riddled his body. "You made sure about that. You made sure I'd never see my Daughter finally experience true peace!' he continued, pausing as he ran his hand across the now bubbling bullet holes. Picking one and slowly began easing apart the decaying skin. Horrified she watched him. Watched his fingers. The way the dead flesh tore under his touch. The way his fingers finally sank, disappearing up past their knuckles; into the blacked frothing blood . "You fingered me real good there Jeanine" he calmly seemed to taunt finally pulling his fingers free, to expose a bullet held precariously between their tips. Mesmerised she couldn't pull her eyes away. Like a graphic horror movie of her own minds making it was playing out before her while she stood transfixed. Slowly Harrison lifted the bullet within his fingers to his sightless eyes, giving his commonly used characteristic shrug as he opened his mouth and placed the bullet upon his swollen tongue. "Waste not, want not! isn't that right Jeanine? Anything for power!" he seamed to muse uncharacteristically not like Harrison, as he once again began to able forward, dragging his dead body in a forced gait towards her. The stench was unbearable. Her stomach churned trying to force up bile that was no longer available. Her mouth felt dry. Her throat like sandpaper. Opening her mouth she tried again to force the images away. Silenced by Harrison's cold clammy hand as it cupped around her chin. His milky white iris's seemed to mock her profoundly, like he was enjoying himself immensely, almost getting off upon her fear. Slowly he raised his other hand placing the two congealing blood soaked fingers to her lips. She could taste it. The blood. More putrid then the stench of his rotting flesh. She could taste death. "I think you have more to worry about them me!" Harrison admitted in his nonchalant mannerisms and lowered his eyes to look down towards her clenched hands strained arms as the grasped tightly at the desk behind her.Instantly her eyes darted following his gaze.Her skin it was moving. How had she not felt it. The feeling like thousands of tiny bodies wriggling scratching below the surface. Had her fear literally paralysed her so greatly, it took her own fear to point out, remind her of what her body was feeling?instantly she glanced up. Harrison, he was gone. The room it seemed normal. The dead Divergent's all gone. Her co workers the Erudite now stared back at her. Their faces mirrors of her own reflecting only fear back upon her. Her skin it felt like it was fire. Slowly she lifted her arm. watching as the crawling lumps beneath the skin seemed to grow, forming red angry heads like boils upon her once flawless flesh. Lifting her hands she began to scratch. They were everywhere she could feel them forming upon her face. her legs her breast. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME!" She screamed. Harrison! he had poisoned her with his tainted blood ! He had somehow infect her! She knew her mind had lost it's control. She couldn't remember when within this nightmare, when she had truly know that she had, had control!As her fingernail grazed digging grating over her swollen flesh, in a bid to ease the constant itch that consumed her; she tore at the red angry scabs ripping them from her skin. Ignoring the pain as the ruined skin wedged under her long fingernails exposing thousands of tiny black bodies. Their spindly legs swiftly hooking over the edges of her torn skin as they hauled their bloated abdomens free. The erupted like pus, running down her arms up across her shoulders towards her face. She could feel them their legs as they moved. their tiny fangs biting at her flesh as more and more of the boils began to burst. She could feel them exploding out of the erupting boils upon her face. They could see them. the spiders they everywhere. She seemed to be coated in them. The room was covered in them! Quickly they reached down trying to brush the small tiny bodies from their clothes. Stamping their feet in a bid not to end up like her. Like Jeanine Mathews.. All the while wondering how they were seeing this. Where it had all come from! This strange nightmare like fear simulation, they were being forced to witness. Opening her mouth, Jeanine Matthews let out a blood curdling scream....... Slowly Loki's lips curved into a malicious smirk of contempt. Little did she know, the fun was only just beginning-

...And then, the Crisis came. The Multiverse was collapsed in on itself. Time was reordered. Where there had been a thousand Earths, there was only one, with one history-and a Wonder Girl before there was ever a Wonder Woman. You See, this new Universe didn't quite know what to do with some of the more complicated holdovers from the Multiverse. So it improvised. It tried to compress all of my histories-a thousand lifetimes-into one...I had become the sum totally of all of my selves, each of my lives-unique in all creation, a living connection to every universe that had ever existed....It's all so familiar because I recorded it in another life. I see the past. The creation of the universe, the Multiverse, the Crisis. Then, the present. Then the future-but not how it's supposed to be.

Tallworth and Murdock: A Vampire Hunt in Hell's Kitchen
Current mood: creative

It had been a slow month for Liam. Things were doing well, both at home and with his work. He'd even found a little time to work on some of his memoirs, which he'd eventually planned to have published. As he sat out on his patio, sipping a screwdriver and thinking about his next chapter, he hear an owl call. Looking up, he was just in time to reach up and catch a message dropped from one of the Ministry's special dispatch owls. As the owl flew on, Liam opened and scanned the message with great interest, curious as to why the Ministry would send him anything.Scanning the message, his eyebrows rise in surprise. For once, the Vampires International Defense Association ( or VIDA ) was working in cooperation with the Ministry. A rogue vampire had been located, hiding out in New York, in a run down section locally known as Hell's Kitchen, and Liam was recommended by VIDA as the right man to hunt it down and bring the foul rogue to justice, once and for all. The message included a brief description of the rogue, rough directions to Hell's Kitchen, and a short list of safe houses where Liam could find 'food' and shelter. It also included the name of a lawyer in the neighbourhood, who was well known there, and had had past dealings with the super-natural. The Ministry recommended that Liam contact him, and see if he might be of any assistance in tracking down the rogue.Deciding to accept the job, Liam finished off his drink, then went inside to make preparations for the trip to the States. His first order of business was to call his house elf, Creeper, and get him to pack some clothes and fundamentals. Liam then went to his study, and scratched out a few brief messages to his son and a few friends, informing him of where he was headed. Once the notes were done, he passed them to his own messenger owl, Snowfeather, and sent him off to be delivered.Liam then grabbed a quick shower, and changed into some fresh travelling clothes. Leaving his elf with a few final instructions, Liam picked up his bags, and apparated to Minstry headquarters. There, he was met by a couple Ministry officials, and one of his bosses from VIDA. They provided him with the proper fake passports and ID, to get by any usualll muggle screenings. They then hooked him up with a Ministry worker who specialized in international transportation. Wishing him luck, they then stepped back, and Liam was instantly transported to New York. Arriving in one of the North American Magical Ministry main offices, located deep beneath Grand Central Station, Liam was met by one of their own reps, who gave him the address to Matt Murdock's practice office, and led him to the surface, where he could catch a cab.Hailing a cab, Liam climbed into the smelly back seat, and gave the driver the address. After muttering a short comment about taking his life into his hands in that part of town, the driver put the cab in gear, pulled out into traffic, and headed across town. Liam sat back and wondered if this lawyer would be of any help at all to him, in finding and finishing off a vampire.

The Water Drenched Meeting {Archie&Anita}
Current mood: creative

It was an early yet remarkably sunny morning within the small town know as Storybrooke, a beautiful morning to sleep in, especially on a Saturday. Alas, sleeping in was obviously not going to be happening for the town psychiatrist, for Archie was pulled out of his deep sleep by the feeling of Pongo's tongue lapping happily at his face. At the feeling of his companions wet, slobbery tongue lick away at his cheek, Archie let out a sigh and opened his eyes, gently pushing the dog away from his face with a smile. "Alright, alright. I'm up, boy." He chuckled softly as he sat up in bed, and stretched. As he was stretching he reached over to his nightstand, and picked up his glasses, carefully setting them on his face. Once he was able to see, his azure gaze shifted over towards his alarm clock which read: 5:00 AM. With a groan, Archie's gaze shifted over towards Pongo who was looking up at him innocently, the leash hanging from his mouth expectantly. "Aw, Pongo. You woke me up early, you know I get up at six." Archie smiled softly, he couldn't be angry at Pongo, just one look at that sweet face got him melting. He then reached out and scratched the dog affectionately behind the ear. "I suppose you wanna go for a walk, huh?" he mused, which seemed to excite Pongo even more.Archie then threw his legs over the side of the bed and slowly stood, heading over to his closet. After a few moments of picking out his clothes, he headed to the bathroom for a hot shower. Once he was finished with his shower, and was fully dressed he was met with Pongo sitting at the bathroom door expectantly, as if he had been waiting for him. Archie blinked as he looked at his dog in confusion, of course Pongo was naturally affectionate but he never waited around for Archie to get dressed before. "You must really wanna go on that walk, huh boy?" Archie laughed, as he reached out to take the leash from the dog's mouth, and latch it around his neck. Once the leash was in place Pongo didn't waste any time, because once the door open the dog was off leaving poor Archie to stumble behind him. Usually Pongo walked at a slow pace, though today it was as if he had a strange burst of energy, for Pongo was practically running. "Hey, easy there boy!" Archie scolded softly, but Pongo kept on as if he was in search for something which did strike Archie as odd, but he pushed it away from his mind and continued walking in a desperate attempt to keep up with Pongo. Originally Archie had planned on walking to Granny's and perhaps stop for a bite to eat, but it seemed Pongo wasn't going to be corporative today due to the fact he walked right past it. Archie attempted to get Pongo to stop, but he just kept on pushing through causing a laugh to erupt from Ruby as she watched on in amusement. "Looks like Pongo has some serious plans this morning!" Ruby called out playfully. "It would seem so." Archie laughed as he looked over towards the young woman. "I have no idea what's gotten into him, he's never this...well, energetic in the mornings." he laughed softly, as Pongo pressed forward practically dragging the doctor behind him. It was a shame Pongo didn't stop, because usually Archie enjoyed to converse with Ruby in the mornings, and usually Pongo was always happy to visit Ruby but today from the direction they were going, it seemed Pongo was dead set on visiting the park. After a moments thought, Archie decided he'd just go with it, he could always stop by Granny's after Pongo's walk, surely he the dog would be tuckered out by then and in need of a good rest. As they made their way down the dirt path of the park, Pongo's pace began to pick up. From where Archie stood it looked as if Pongo was searching for something, and it seemed Pongo was determined to find whatever it was. "Pongo, take it easy!" Archie whispered as he attempted to get his companion to slow his pace. "What's with all the hurry?" he frowned, as he stumbled after him awkwardly. Eventually Pongo slowed his pace, much to Archie's appreciation honestly Archie wasn't expecting this much of a work out this early in the morning. Archie followed after Pongo slowly as they neared the pond, much to Archie's delight there was a nice bench he could settle down in for a breather. As they two sat and peered out upon the lake, Archie could tell Pongo was getting a bit antsy, refusing to sit still. Though Archie merely reached out and scratched him behind the ear, hoping that would relax the poor dog. Archie was far too into his own thoughts, he didn't even notice the young woman and her own Dalmatian sitting near them on the next bench over, though Pongo seen them and from his next actions, it was obvious Pongo wanted Archie to see them too. Pongo the jumped up and grabbed the edge of Archie's scarf between his teeth, giving it a rough pull and within minutes the scarf fell from his master's neck, allowing Pongo to run about. Archie blinked as he stood from his bench, his brow furrowed in confusion. This isn't like Pongo at all! he thought to himself. "Pongo, knock it off." he said sternly as he took a step towards the dog, but Pongo was smart and jumped away crouching down playfully, causing Archie to laugh. "C'mon Pongo, this isn't the time to play." he said softly, as he slowly reached out to take the scarf, but Pongo ran off. "Pongo! Wait!" Archie cried as he rushed off after his dog. Pongo then trotted over towards the next bench over, and tossed Archie's scarf on the bench next to the young woman, only then is when Archie took notice to her. A small polite smile appeared upon Archie's face as he approached the bench, reaching out to pick up his scarf. Archie then shot a glance back towards Pongo, a disapproving glance that Pongo knew all too well as his master wrapped the scarf around his neck. Though Pongo could of cared less about the looks Archie was giving them, because the woman and her Dalmatian seemed to have moved, Pongo couldn't let that happen, now could he? Though before Pongo could run off towards the woman, Archie hooked his finger in Pongo's collar causing him to cease all movements. "What in the world has gotten into you, Pongo?" Archie asked in a disapproving tone, as he eyed his furry companion. "C'mon, I think that's enough fun for today. How about we stop at Granny's, I'm sure Ruby will have some water for you." he said softly, as he got a better grasp on Pongo's leash. Though just as Archie looked away to hook his lucky umbrella on his arm, Pongo was off; Dragging the poor doctor behind him once more. "Pongo!" Archie cried, though it was obvious the dog wasn't listening. Thankfully for Pongo the woman wasn't too far away, all he had to do was sprint to catch up with her. And once Pongo was in touching distance with her, he carefully circled both her and Archie, causing his leash to wrap around their legs, ceasing them of their movements. Archie's azure eyes went wide as he quickly reached out to steady the woman in front of him, with one wrong move the both of them could obviously go toppling over and Archie was far too concerned about her safety to even realize how close they were to one another. "Gee, I'm so, so sorry! I-I don't know what got into Pongo, he isn't usually like this!" Archie apologized quickly, his cheeks flushing a bright shade for red as he looked down at the young woman. The woman laughed nervously, as he placed her hands against Archie's chest desperately clutching at the lapels of his coat to keep from toppling over. "Its quite alright, you're dog's rather lively isn't he?" she teased playfully as she pulled herself closer to the man in front of her. Though just as they seemed to be regaining their balance Pongo decided to move towards the other Dalmatian, causing the two to completely toppled right into the pond with a loud: splash! As Archie felt the cold water embrace him, he was rather shocked to say the least behavior like this was completely unlike Pongo, and he was about to scold him for it though his azure gaze met with the woman sitting next to him, equally as drenched and they both laughed. As they sat laughing in the pond, only then Archie was able to get a better look at her and that is when he realized how beautiful she was, she had: short blonde hair, pink full lips, a cute button nose and the most beautiful sapphire blue eyes he had ever seen. Though when he caught himself staring at her, his cheeks began to heat up. "I-I um, I'm so sorry! Pongo isn't well, he isn't usually like this." he chuckled nervously as he carefully got to his feet, slowly reaching a hand to help her. The woman regarded his hand for a moment, before reaching out to take it and allow him to pull her to her feet. Standing in the water in heels, wasn't a very easy task but thankfully Archie was there to keep her steady as they carefully stepped out of the pond, water dripping from their drenched clothes. Though when Archie realized how soaked she was, he blinked and quickly shrugged off his equally as wet coat and draped it over her shoulders, much to her shock. "Thank you, you're very kind." she laughed softly, as she pulled the drenched coat closer to her small frame. "I um, its wet, but um...well..." Archie stumbled over his words as he shifted his stance, what more could he say? Yes, it was a kind gesture...but also slightly pointless since the coat wouldn't give her much warmth. "It's perfect, thank you." she laughed softly, reaching out to straighten his glasses. She then took a step back from him, the smile never falling from her pink lips as she tucked a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear. "My name is Anita, by the way." she said shyly. "Anita." Archie said softly, a small smile appearing upon his lips. "Um, I'm...Archie, Archie Hopper." he said nervously, as his gaze shifted over towards Pongo. "And that, well as you might have guess...is Pongo." he laughed nervously. "I don't...see many other Dalmatians in town." he mused as he motioned towards the female dog sitting next to Pongo."Oh, that's Perdita." Anita laughed softly as she looked up at the ginger doctor in front of her. "I've had her for as long as I can remember, though we don't exactly live in town." she said gently, and Archie couldn't help but find her accent soothing. Soon it hit Archie, they were both soaking wet they would likely catch their death out here if they just sit about, so Archie reached over to grab Pongo's leash and turned to Anita, the smile never falling from his lips. "Why don't you come to my office?" he offered softly. "Its jus that, well...we're both soaked. I wouldn't want you to catch a cold or something, I um, I have coffee or tea. Whichever you'd like." he chuckled nervously. Anita smiled brightly, revealing her cheerful dimples as she reached out for Perdita's leash. She then reached out with her free hand, and took Archie's arm. "I would absolutely love that." she said sincerely, the smile never falling from her lips. As they two made their way back into two, Archie didn't even realize how odd of a couple they might of looked, both drenched and dripping but honestly that never crossed his mind, he was far too enraptured by the woman next to him. It was odd, he had never felt such a strong connection with someone almost like magnets, he had to admit he liked it, though he couldn't help but wonder if Anita felt it as well. His azure gaze then shifted over towards their dogs as a small smile appeared upon his lips, from where he stood it seemed as if Pongo had found himself a girlfriend. It was funny, Pongo had a better time finding love than Archie did, but then again...perhaps Pongo led Archie to Anita for a reason? xXxXx Once they reached Archie's office, he quickly jumped into action and started a fire so he could lay their drenched clothes out to dry. Once they close were neatly laid out, and they were both in dry and warmer clothes, he set out to make them both tea. Though as he waited on the tea, he couldn't help but feel an odd sense of nervousness, for reasons he didn't particularly understand. His azure gaze then shifted over his shoulder as he studied the blonde woman sitting upon his sofa, she was rather pretty. It was a wonder they never crossed paths before in town, perhaps they town was indeed a lot bigger than it seemed. When they tea was finally ready, he made his way over to the sofa and handed her the cup, as he offered her a small smile. "I hope Earl Grey is alright, that's all I had." he said softly, as he took a seat next to her. "Oh, no that's perfect. Thank you." she said sincerely, as she enjoyed the warmth radiating from the cup in her small hands. Her azure gaze then shifted towards the man next to her, as she offered him sweet smile. Though as she took in his face, she couldn't help but notice the starting of a bruise on his forehead, causing her to frown. She then slowly reached out to touch his forehead gently, when he winched she knew her assumption was correct. "It looks like you have a rather nasty bruise on your forehead, doctor." she said softly, as she slowly removed her hand. "Perhaps you ought to put some ice on it." she suggested. "I..I do?" he asked dumbly, quite honestly he was hardly listening. All he could focus on at the moment where her eyes, they were like his, but also different. Though eventually when he registered her words, he smiled and looked away. "I'll be fine, I promise." he said shyly, as he took a small sip of his tea. "You know, it was ever so sweet of you to offer me a place to dry off." she said gently, as she also took a small sip of her tea. "I couldn't just let you wander home in soaking clothes." he said softly, as he looked down at the cup in his hands. He couldn't really put his finger on it, but there was something about this woman. It was as if something was pulling him to her, he couldn't help but wonder if she could feel it too. Archie's gaze then shifted over towards Pongo, and he couldn't help but smile. Pongo and Perdy were cuddled up together by the fire, while Pongo licked Perdy lovingly. It was an adorable sight to see, it seems the two had really taken a strong liking to one another. Archie then nudged Anita gently, causing her to look. When she saw their dogs, she couldn't help but laugh softly. "Oh, how sweet!" she said sincerely, as she set her cup aside. "It's so good to see Perdy have another dog to interact with, I'm sure I become such dull company after awhile." she teased. Though watching this tender display only made Anita's heart ache, seeing how attach they were to each other, Anita couldn't find the heart to rip them apart. Deep down in her heart, she felt they should stay together always, but that would be impossible, wouldn't it? Perdy had to come home with her, and Pongo would stay home with Archie. Sure, the two could see each other now and again, but would that really be fair? "I think we might have a bit of a problem." Anita said softly, causing Archie to look at her in confusion. "I think my dog is in love." she said with a small smile. Who said animals couldn't find true love? "It seems that way doesn't it?" Archie smiled, as he set his cup aside. "I think Pongo is in love as well, look at the two of them." he said gently, as he turned to look at Anita. "Though, why is that a problem?" he asked in confusion. Anita's lips fell into a frown as she shook her head. "They're going to be broken hearted when I leave." she said in a low tone, it was sweet how strongly and quickly Perdy and Pongo's bond formed. Though it was also cruel, when two dogs loved each other that much it wasn't fair to make them part ways. "Gee, you're right." Archie said sadly, as he watched Pongo. "I don't think I could bare to live with a broken hearted Dalmatian." he said honestly. Archie was glad Pongo was able to connect with another dog, but he couldn't help but agree with Anita. Pongo would be absolutely devastated when she and Perdy left, and secretly Archie knew he would be too. "We better think of something, don't you think?" she asked as she offered him a smile. "I agree, there has to be some solution to this problem." he said with a nod, as his lips twitched up into that sweet smile of his. "Um, would you like another cup of marriage, while we think of a solution?" he asked, completely unaware that he misspoke and made a very drastic error. Anita's brow furrowed as she looked into Archie's azure gaze, she most certainly caught what he said. Did he really say marriage, or was she hearing things? Perhaps she had a knock to her head as well, and now she's hearing things. No, it wasn't sure her...he did say marriage. How odd. Though Anita would be lying if she said she didn't fancy that idea, despite how quickly it arose. After all, they just met. "Erm, excuse me?" she asked softly. "Tea?" Archie asked softly, quickly becoming aware of his slip up. He had no idea where that came from, he wash hoping she didn't catch it fully, and he was also hoping she didn't notice how red his face was, he could practically feel it burning up. "Another...cup of tea?" "I'm quite certain you said Marriage." Anita said boldly, as she looked into his lovely eyes. She couldn't help but smile at his adorably red face. "Um, marriage?" he asked, trying to play confusion. "Yes. Marriage." Anita confirmed, nodding her head. "That's what you said, I'm sure of it. I...well, you meant to say tea, but it...it came out marriage." she rambled nervously. "Oh, did it?" Archie asked shyly, as he cleared his throat awkwardly. "I'm s-sorry, do you want another cup of...tea?" he asked softly, the heat of embarrassment still hot on his face. Though Archie had to admit, despite the fact they had just met that morning he didn't wish to be apart from her. He couldn't very well explain it, but there was something about her. Something, he felt he couldn't live without. This didn't just have to do with Pongo being in love, perhaps...he was starting to fall in love himself? Just the thought of it scared him, it had never happened to him before, quite honestly he didn't think it'd ever happen with him being Jiminy Cricket and all. "I do." Anita said softly, losing herself in his azure gaze. She couldn't help but feel herself being pulled towards him, just sitting there contently and looking into his eyes she felt her heart swell with joy. Now, this was something that had never happened before, though despite how forgien the feeling was, she found she rather enjoyed it. She had heard stories from her mother, about finding that one person you couldn't live without, and dare she say...Archie was that person for her. How odd love was, she never imagined for it to happen and develop so quickly. "You...you do?" Archie asked dumbfounded, deep down he knew they weren't speaking about the tea. This simple conversation was about much more than tea. "I will." Anita smiled, as she tucked a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear shyly. "You will?" Archie asked, as his lips spread into a bright grin. "If you ask me, of course." Anita laughed, she couldn't help but fall even more for him. He was such a kind man, with a heart of gold. She would be a fool not to love him. "Would you?" he asked hopefully, as he leaned closer to her. Now, this was completely out of the ordinary for Archie, usually he wouldn't be moving in such a fast pace, some would consider this reckless. Though, for the first time Archie found he didn't care if it was reckless, as long as Anita was by his side he would be happy, and things would work out. "Yes." she smiled, as she closed the gap between them, her hands reaching up to cradle his face as she kissed him lovingly. At their first kiss, they both felt something inside them melt. As his arms wrapped around her waist, she only held him closer. In that moment everything around them became hazy, they only thing they could focus on was each other, and they realized they should be kissing one another for the rest of their days, they felt so lucky to have found one another. They knew they should owe it to Pongo and Perdy for forcing them to meet in such a way that they did. And in that short moment of time, they found true love. They found each other. They were meant to love one another, no one could tell them any different. Together they would love in love, Archie and Anita, Pongo and Perdy. A/N: Just a random little idea that came to mind. I adore Archie, and I always wanted him to have a true love, then I realized in a weird way Archie was technically Roger from 101 Dalmatians, so I figured Anita would be his true love.
