Nicolette - Grace
Current mood:  betrayed

If waking up in a different house isn't confusing enough, try waking up to a baby screaming her lungs out and a mother at her wit's end. Grace was home for a few days now, and her tortuous cries in the night were unexplainable. The doctor said it was teething. Gypsy claimed her daughter hated her. Nicolette held the pillow over her head for a minute to calm herself down. She was exhausted from the stress of the days before."Gypsy," she called out.Walking from her room, Nicolette stopped in her cousin's room, shaking her head when she saw her with Grace in her arms and her crying.  Nicolette reached for the baby, looking at Gypsy's exhausted face, "Get dressed and go out. You need a day out of the house. Ask your roommate to go with you, and go shopping, get food, enjoy some time away from Grace. I promise to keep her right here with me and not let her out of my sight," Nicolette said. Anyone could tell if she didn't get out of the house, she would have a breakdown. That wasn't healthy for anyone. With great reluctance, Gypsy and her roommate left Nicolette with the squalling baby in her arms. She could tell that her cousin was horrified to leave the house, but she was also in need of some proper self-care. Something no one ever gets, but they beg for when mentally exhausted."Shh, Grace, you need to hush. Nothing is wrong with you, and right now, you're just needy," she said. Nicolette rested the baby on her chest, covering them both with a blanket, and took a nap. Well, she didn't mean to sleep, but the exhaustion finally took over. Feeling her body lighten, Grace was gone, and standing in the middle of the room was the man Nicolette considered the Devil. The one Thanatos told her she should never have awoken. Nicolette took a moment to breathe before tossing the blanket from her own body, jumping to her feet, and reaching for the baby. She knew by the sarcasm in his eyes this would be one hell of a fight. Holding the baby out from his body, one hand under each arm, he looked at the child as though she was diseased. One could tell that this man hates, no, not hated, but despised children. "Give her back to me, or I will f***ing kill you," Nicolette growled. A boisterous laugh filled the house, the windows shaking as the laughter rumbled through the room. "Give you the child? No. Didn't Thanatos explain to you what you did when you brought her mother back from my clutches? You altered the DNA of this child, and now, she's mine. Well, I did technically f*** her mother, so who knows..." he whispered. His voice not soft but a grumble that put fear into most. He didn't want this child, but hell was boring right now, and he needed a toy.Looking from the male to Grace, Nicolette noticed that her pouty lip quivered, smiled, and quivered again. She didn't know how to feel about this stranger holding her, well, dangling her in the air. "I promised her mother she would be okay; you know what can happen if you hurt her. Are you prepared for the day that the world ends, and all these dumb mother f***ers join you down below?" she asked. Of course, she had no idea where this man resided, but in her mind, he was a sewer dweller and lived below the earth's surface. "Let me hold her at least. She knows me. She doesn't know who you are," Nicolette said. With reluctance, he handed the child over, but there was no way this was over. He would take what was his. If this thing indeed carried his DNA, her mother would never control the life inside of her. Smug and cocky, he walked through the house, stopping to watch those basking in the heat. "You know, they could never handle where I call home. No, beyond your beliefs, I do not sit in hell and play with the idiots that f***ed up their lives, he said. "I will be visiting her often. You can only do so much. One day, they will come for her, and you alone can never stop those who will want her dead. If you thought that Frank Paloma was evil, you've never met my colleagues," he laughed, his eyes never off the horizon. "No one can hurt this little girl. I will slaughter them all. Watch me. You have no idea who the f*** I am," she added but wondered if he did know. "Make this your only warning, if this child is hurt, I will rip you from limb to limb and let the vultures eat your f***ing soul," she warned.  Turning, he looked at her with arrogance, "I think the kid sh*t. Clean it up." With that, he pulled the door open, disappearing before she could respond.  "Oh man, Grace, I thought that smell was coming from him. Dammit, kid, you're lucky I love you so much," she added, but knew, this was far from over.

Hogwarts Starter

"Clear the way! Move that table, lads! We're expecting someone special!!"   The year was 993 and the workers around a small tavern bustled to move furniture around. The idea was to open up the space along the staircase that lead to the inn rooms on the second floor. There was a lovely window here with a table and plant but today all of that was moved away to open the space. Something very special was going here -- if all went according to plan.   A young woman stepped beyond the tavern to the back brewery. Tugging her golden yellow dress upward she moved down the stairs and proceeded to an area secluded from the rest of the tavern. With a small box in hand and a smile upon her face, she drew out a small grail style cup and held it outwards in her hand. Gesturing it out the nearest window toward the sky, it began to glow and radiate a certain signal. She then set it down on the window frame and opened the box, leaving it there as well. She then dashed out and closed the door behind her with a light chickle.   Out of the small box crawled a large bug with wide wings. On its belly was a small lip for weaving thread, much like a spider…   All of this just to call a Doctor…   The wild thump of a strange heartbeat soon filled the air… but not in the place that was cleared out. Rather the sound radiated next to a small place known as The Diagon Dispensary. A bright light formed and a blue box formed in the alleyway right next to the store, with glowing windows and a light mist. The navy blue wood was accented by white lettering that said 'Police Public Call Box' across the top. The door opened and a tall spikey haired brunette stepped out. Tugging on a long tan trench coat and adjusting his crimson red suit, the man pulled a small device out of his pocket. Looking it over he hoped for a reaction but didn't find one. With a light tapping it suddenly whistled.   "Huh… Right. So, it's not broken. Must be something I missed," he said as he was going to go back inside. If anything he had tools for following signals, he just had to find the right one.   It was then that a shriek pierced through the dark night that made the man pause where he was. Signal or not there was a cry for help if ever he had heard one. Pulling the door back closed again with a click he ran around the corner of the alley and then into the tavern. With a sharp breath, he managed to dodge two women that ran as fast as their long dresses would allow. Attention then turned to the two men inside, who were waving brooms at a rather large bug that was flying around the high ceiling. Clearly out of reach but the two were trying their hardest.   "We could blast it!" one man said as he gave up on the broom and drew out his wand.   "You'd lose your job for sure for damages! Are you mad!" the other man said.   Looking up at the large bug that crawled around the high light fixtures, this traveller couldn't help but to smile. How in the world did a Mayfly get into a pub this far away from its rightful habitat. Someone did call him here alright. Obviously using the fly as bait. Stepping into the kitchen, he used a thick dipper to scoop out some of the honey from the baking storage. Coming back out to the lobby he waved the two men down.   "Oi!! No need for all that!!" he said before holding out the dipper. With his spare hand he drew out a small metal device and used it to zap the honey within the dipper. Slowly the room was filled with the sweet smell. As expected, the fly came whizzing down to land upon the dipper and sip the warm honey. "There you go… simple enough."   "Well done, dear Doctor," came a woman's voice from the stairwell. The man looked back to find a woman in a long yellow-gold dress and braids in her long brunette hair. "Just as I remember you to be," she added as she came down to approach.   "Remember me? To whom do I owe the-- Ack!!" he said with a light chuckle as the Mayfly was startled for a moment, landed on his head and then came back down to the honey. "This is your Mayfly, I assume. And you are?"   "Helga Hufflepuff… and I was hoping you had a moment to chat, Doctor."   Helga Hufflepuff. The name hit the man like a ton of bricks. Anyone who knows her history knows who this woman is. Pleasant shock turned into awe and silent flattery as one of the founders of Hogwarts made it a point to call to him. But… remember him? From where? Either way, the Doctor was sure she would fill him in as they would settle to talk. Would he refuse? Honestly, he wouldn't miss what she had to say for a second!!   "Although… I honestly hoped you would have landed your box there," she teased with a chuckle as she gestured the area by the stairs.   Amber hues shifted over Helga's shoulder as the Doctor realized exactly where he could have parked. "Ah… well, I missed the mark. That happens. Never too late for a shift. Besides, this girl is almost done with her treat so lets get her settled," the Doctor said as he moved to lead Helga to where he had actually parked. Both chuckling lightly along the way about the little reactions from people who saw the bug.
