Episode Two; Scene 3

Release Date: July 24th, 2013 Setting: United Nations Bldg, Floor 42 (cloudy with a chance of rain) Time: Afternoon - Day of Trista's Funeral -Benedikt arrives at the Order headquarters, eager to reveal his information. He greets Edgar and Cain professionally, and asks where the others are.-Cain informs Ben that Bastian and Trista are in the conference room and that the others are on their way. -Edgar corrects this, mentioning they had left around twenty minutes ago. -Cain is frustrated by this and reminds Edgar that Trista has not yet been initiated. The threat she poses is overwhelming. -Asher sleepily enters from the next room and casually greets the others as if he's greatly inconvenienced. -Benedikt is impatient and abruptly informs them of Malachite's existence and of the previous night's events. -Asher teases Benedikt for being defeated by a little girl and a brainless vamp. -Benedikt immediately grabs a pair of scissors on the receptionist's desk and stabs Asher in the chest. -The new receptionist understandably reacts poorly to this. -Edgar regains control, soothing his new receptionist and suggesting they continue their business elsewhere. They do, moving to the conference room from earlier. -Cain is still concerned of Trista's absence and Bastian's defiance. He figures that Trick must be with them, and reveals that he doesn't trust those Order members. -Asher, angry and annoyed but ultimately unharmed, tosses the scissors back at Benedikt. He then casually asks if Cain trusts anyone. -Cain replies to this, then asks how his own tasks have been evolving. -Asher vaguely mentions his progress at his mysterious task, and claims to have just returned from pursuing them. -Benedikt eager to gain control of the meeting turns things back to his issue: Malachite. -Edgar suggests he continue monitoring the vampire, claiming it's more important to gather him back into the fold then to 'let him die'. Finding another vampire in Malachite's previous position would be a pain, especially when wolves seem to be the main form of demon these days. -Cain questions this, and asks what Benedikt plans to do about the sudden influx of his brethren. -Benedikt has a plan, but is hesitant to share it. -Edgar informs him of his ambivalence, and reminds them all that they have their individual responsibilities to look after. He suggests they individually get to it, and meet later with results. FYK: A few hours have passed since this morning's events, and Edgar has a new secretary already working for him by cleaning up the blood Rochelle Pryce had left behind. Benedikt arrived and suggested a meeting to share the information he gathered about 'Malachite'. Asher had been in a nearby conference room sleeping to gain dream contact with Maddie. All Order members were summoned, but only these four have answered the call.

He is shocked to see Lita. -Lita awkwardly greets Cade, explaining their arrival, and ask how he's been. -Cade begins to grow concerned at not having seen Mina, and asks where she is. -A scream answers his question. -Zoisite had been taking a shower to calm her nerves and was rudely interrupted. -Mina, shocked, re-emerges from the bathroom and accuses Cade of sleeping with the enemy. -Cade attempts to explain that Zoisite is not the enemy anymore, and chides Lita for not warning Mina about it beforehand. -Lita carefully jokes that she didn't know they had been living together. -Zoisite, meanwhile, emerges from the bathroom having hastily clothed herself. -Mina angrily reminds everyone of Zoisite's past crimes. -Zoisite defends herself and reminds everyone of Mina's own crimes, as well as informing everyone of her recent good behavior. -Mina, rather childishly, asks her to explain the dried blood still on her clothes. -Cade quickly intervenes before the argument could escalate. He defends Zo and closes the door on the argument. -Lita suggests whipping up a quick batch of cookies to diffuse the situation. She moves to the kitchen, only to find nothing in the fridge or cabinets but blood. She suggests a grocery trip. -Zoisite cheerily suggests Lita learn recipes for blood-centered cooking. -Mina is frustrated and unwilling to find good humor in the situation. She leaves, claiming she'll meet them all at the funeral later. -Cade embraces Zoisite, who he senses is o, and suggests the three of them catch up. He then moves to Lita and awkwardly tries to hug her. -Lita is hesitant at first, but then hugs him back tightly. She reveals how much she missed him. -Zoisite is distracted, staring after Mina, her own thoughts turned dark and the memory of her past loss caused by Mina. FYK: Like an addict clinging to her sponsor, Zoisite arrives at Cade's home desperate and fearful. He had been attempting to sleep since his earlier events with Leon in attempts to prepare himself for the funeral. Lita and Mina, after their interesting plane ride (to take place in the Character Cafe), decided to stop at Cade's to 'freshen up'. Lita was given a key long ago, and only now decides to use it to surprise her Watcher (she thinks that if she was brave enough for the plane ride, she's brave enough to face him now).

Episode Two; Scene 1

Release Date: July 25, 2013 Setting: Coventry Psychiatric Hospital, Leila's room (thunderstorms) Time: Mid-afternoon, Day of Trista's funeral -Ryan requests to see Leila, but when she's denied, finds her own way to get to her. he tries to explain what happened to her with Edgar, but quickly realizes Leila is 'out of it'.-Caitlyn arrives to check on Leila, and questions what Ryan is doing there. -Leila asks them both to leave, because she's had a busy day of ghosts and celestials and has no time for reapers and therapists.-Ryan begs Caitlyn not to tell on her, and tries to assert her concern for her friend. -Caitlyn subtly wraps both Leila and Ryan into a therapy session. -Leila openly answers her questions, having her hesitations removed from the medication. -Ryan, however, is starting to feel uncomfortable in Caitlyn's presence. Her vision begins to blur when she looks at her. Ryan mentions this, confused. -Caitlyn begins to feel uncomfortable, wondering what sort of group psychosis the two girls were experiencing. -Leila suddenly starts to see shadows surrounding Caitlyn. Though the drugs haven't worn off, they scream and beg for Leila's help.  -Caitlyn, noticing Leila's sudden terror, begins to experience flashbacks to her dreams, and a headache begins to form as she tries to quiet her thoughts. -Leila screams as the shadows begin to accuse Caitlyn of their murder. She wants to run, but is stopped by a nurse with a sedative. -Ryan, meanwhile, has pinpointed why her vision blurs when looking at Caitlyn...as a reaper, she can see souls, and Caitlyn has two. When the nurse arrives, Ryan physically stops her from sedating Leila. -Caitlyn tries to regain control of the rapidly escalating situation, but her own headache is worsening, limiting her own functions. More nurses and orderlies arrive, this time to restrain and sedate both girls. Caitlyn attempts to stop them, but is inefficient and ultimately ignored. -Leila for the first time tries to refuse sedation, but fails. She tries to warn the nurses about Caitlyn as she passes out. -Ryan is also sedated, and reveals aloud that Caitlyn had two souls before passing out. -Caitlyn is suddenly furious for how the girls were treated, one that wasn't even a patient. The nurse, exasperated, asks what else they were supposed to do. Caitlyn angrily defends the girls and claims she'll be there, watching, until they wake up. FYK: Leila is sleeping off a drug induced stupor when her old friend Alexandra comes to pay a visit. Ryan has visited Leila only once before, but in light of recent events with Edgar, she needs a friend to talk to. Upon entrance, Ryan was initially stopped by the guards, but managed to sneak by to find Leila on her own, whether or not Leila was 'sleeping'. Caitlyn arrives at the request of the doctor's at Coventry, because they've exhausted all treatment options and don't know what to make of Leila's case (she has no signs of brain damage and doesn't fit the bill of any other diagnosable disorder).

THE TRIBE OF THE MARE CAMPGROUND

Iron Man

06/22/2013 12:18 PM

Malibu Home, Retreat II

https://www.ironmanarmory.com/retreat.htmlOnce upon a time, in his "part time lover" days, Stark had set himself up with a rather luxurious cliffside home in California. He had dubbed it "The Retreat", because for as ostentatious as the house was, it was Tony's hiding place. His bethel. He had kept the home, despite maybe some renovations after super villain fights, until the horrifically cumbersome issue with Onslaught came about years ago. Stark kept the property, though. His fortune had been stripped from him recently, but he had been successful at suing back the rights to much of it. On the original land as the old Retreat, Stark had quietly built a new home with funds from a new company and a recouped fortune. He had also renovated the lab facility beneath, greatly. So now the old land on the old cliff and the old memories had a new, slick, updated lodging atop.  In some sense, most of it had been built as an experiment in "the home of the future"; every new or prototype technology that Stark delighted in was implemented into the home.  Be at ever some humble...      The green goo fridge fridge was one of Tony's favorite innovations.  Though, few other guests had the courage to try it, so it mostly became his personal cooler.  https://www.geekosystem.com/zero-energy-refrigerator-green-goo/ His very own see-through bee hive had also been installed somewhere new the kitchen, into one of the large window.  https://www.popsci.com/gadgets/article/2011-11/sleek-urban-beehive-concept-attaches-honeybee-colonies-apartment-windows Also in the kitchen, opposite side of the bedrooms, is new prototype aquaponics biosphere kit, which simultaneously grows fresh herbs, plans, and tilapia.  https://youtu.be/Au2Bueiy6MQ?t=8m But, most important was the full gym, sauna, and spa facilities built into one wing of the home, just below the master bedroom and suites on the floor above.  The gym area contained weights, cardio machines, and a full boxing ring.  Adjacent to the gym, however, was the sauna and a small Dornbracht-designed horizontal rain shower.  The horizontal shower was the newest addition to the home, and Stark had personally instructed that "after a work out, it should feel so good you think you have to cook it eggs in the morning."  https://www.dornbracht.com/en-US/Products/Bath-and-Spa/Horizontal-Shower.aspx (The gym and parts of the sauna and spa facility can be seen overlooking the pool if you pay close attention to the background during the Rhodey vs Tony fight scene in Iron Man 2.) And, the pool and jacuzzi were outdoors, just beyond the gym and spa facilities.  These were nested just at the very edge of the cliff, with a perimeter of safety railing, to overlook the Pacific Ocean. Below the home was Tony Stark's garage and lab assembly complex.  The original property had included a huge two-stage lab and manufacturing center underground, which was expanded upon and updated with modern equipment.  The layout of the lab is largely modular, so as to have space be rearranged and configured as needed.  There is a multi-purpose test chamber, large 3D printers and automated fabrication equipment, and assembly areas.  The lab and workshop area can be accessed by the (armored) garage door, the cargo elevator at the edge of the property, or from the proper entrance inside the home.  There was/is also an underwater entrance to the lab. Currently the upper deck is a main staging area, armory, and also garage.  Below that is the second stage of the lab, a large fabrication, storage, and utility level. Included into this underground area was the home's power plant, where four huge Repulsor Generators (Arc Reactors) provided ample power to the home itself and enough extra power to shunt into the California electrical grid and sell to the local electric company.  The home's power plant was able to dump so much energy into Malibu that a small power-substation had to be built at the edge of the property to manage it, accessible by the local electric company.  Selling so much energy to the local electric company helped offset the cost of the home. Security wise?  A special armor, an update to the Telepresence Armor, was rebuilt and put back to use as a "guard dog."  This suit stays on the premise in the event of attack or security alarm.  Unlike other armors, this suit has no pilot cavity, and is completely filled with weapons and equipment, and is programmed to be very protective of the property...   Mobile sensor nodes and clusters were placed throughout the grounds outside (detecting visual, highly-sensitive audio, infrared, and backscatter x-ray).  The windows were made from reinforced metallic glass and could repel cannon fire.  Access to the lab and home was dependent on possessing the proper digital encryption pass, or by persons identified by biorhythm scans.  These scans include skeletal resonance, a method Stark favors because hardly anyone's heard of it and no one's figured out how to counterfeit yet.  In this application, when attempting to enter the home, sound code is transmitted from the floor panels, through the individuals body, and into the keypad which listens and verifies the access pin number or a palm print scanner.  Tony Stark would be notified immediately if any alarm was tripped.  (For details on the armor and tech's specific security measures, please see my Hall Of Armors blog.)  The home is controlled by a private node of the J.A.R.V.I.S. A.I.

They run to the room expecting danger, but all they find is a frustrated Serena who's accidentally knocked over a lamp. -Serena is pacing back and forth, frustrated and nervous. -Luna demands to know what's wrong, what's happening, and if Serena is alright. -Serena explains that she's trying to write a speech for Trista's funeral. She's having a rough time of it, and can't stop thinking about how they're burying an empty coffin. -Luna moves to comfort Serena and tells her that she doesn't need to speak, that no one is expecting her to give a speech. -Serena replies that of course she needs to speak.-Luna suggests that if that's the case, shouldn't Serena simply speak from the heart? -Artemis also suggests adding a few jokes, and then lists a few euphemisms for the idea of 'death'. -Luna, offended, scolds Arty, saying that this is no time for jokes. -Artemis corrects his love, reminding her that this is exactly the time for jokes. -Serena remains silent for a moment, then asks something she'd been trying not to ask; where do Celestials go when they die. She asks if heaven exists. -Luna hesitates, unsure of how to answer. She informs Serena that a lot of the mythology surrounding the concept of 'heaven' was based on the Silver Millenium, before the First Fall. -Serena puts two and two together. She wants to have it clarified about happened to the Celestials who died during the First Fall. -Artemis awkwardly informs Serena that their souls were preserved using the Celestial crystal, and that they were reincarnated on Earth... as the current Celestials. -Serena speedily puts it all together, reflecting on Fiona's death and how Rem 'awoke' shortly after that. She asks Luna if there will be another Celestial rising to take Trista's place. -Luna replies that there has to be, for that's how it's always worked. -Artemis isn't so sure, but doesn't say so aloud. -Serena suddenly smiles, becoming optimistic. She declares they need to find the new Celestial, because that new Celestial will have a part of Trista inside their soul, and that means Trista can never truly be completely gone. -Artemis begins to suggest that it doesn't exactly work that way, but Luna silences him with a look. -Serena, feeling much better, mentions her suddenly undying need for a cookie. She goes to the kitchen to get one, leaving Arty and Luna behind in her room. -Once again alone, Artemis asks Luna if she really thinks another Celestial will awaken. -Luna says that she hopes so, otherwise everything they've ever known is wrong.FYK: Luna and Artemis are on their way to Serena and Luna's apartment, where they plan to meet to travel together to Trista's funeral. They receive several strange glances as they travel next to one another, cat and dog, very different but somehow cut from the same mold. Serena is incredibly distraught. She's the Moon Celestial. Trista was a member of a family that Serena was supposed to protect. Losing her was not only a personal pain, but a professional one, and Serena is professionally unhappy about that.
