Rules of The Calling RPG  Nerissa is the creator, owner and main moderator. All actions must be approved by her.   Blue Tail Mermaids have token playbys, Sirens have token playbys. You must take the playby assigned to the character if you take on these roles. You may not alter the playby or mini bio given to you. You may always add to the bio if you like. Any other mermaids or sirens other than what is listed must have a playby that adheres to our guidelines. (see appropriate blog)  The Calling requires a minimum ability of multi-para rps, we like novella better though.  If you are having a particular bad day I NEVER and I mean NEVER want to see bulletins or statements from your mermaid rpg profile that state the following that you are deleting, thinking of deleting, so sad, lonely and emo that you will kill yourself. If you are this seriously disturbed - might I suggest some intense therapy and counseling. I nor my members are here to be your therapist, counselor or priest. It is unfair to us; I have had to actually deal with a situation like this and believe me it is definitely not right and I will never be forced to deal with it ever again.  I also do not want to hear that role-players have caused you miscarriages, or have traumatized you in some irreparable way.   Harming, molesting children and rape scenarios in RP are not except able here - I will also not have myself or my members deal with your Oedipus Rex complex (sleep with mom/slay dad) **Note: You do not have to have seen any of the Pirates of the Caribbean films or need to have read any of the books which this RPG is only a very minimal basis of. You are only asked to have a basic knowledge of mermaids and you are asked to coincide with what we build as our society and mer history. All blue tails will be expected to help build and moderate the RPG.  Never assume you have a part; you must have been invited personally  by Nerissa before you enter the RPG.  If you audition, and get a part, you must be pleasant and courteous to all other members. I don't mind if you talk OOC or do not- that is entirely your choice. This RPG is for fun, I am not going to force people to make this their one and only priority nor am I going to stipulate crazy regulations, I will say this if I or the moderators do not hear from you or do not get comments from you or do not see posts at the RPG site in 2 weeks time, you will be formally dismissed and your character will be recast.  Once you take a major role meaning (Blue Tail Mermaid) you may not abandon it- hiatus and semi-hiatus is permissible when needed. Contact Nerissa if you need a break.  These mermaids are as sensual as they are fierce. You will be required to write semi graphic content at times. Be prepared to do so. Sadists and sociopaths are only welcome as demonic merfolk.  At this time there is no need for children and/or pregnancy roles-I know I certainly do not want any guppies.  As we move along there will be roles for males and other sea creatures. If you are male and want to portray a female mermaid- go right ahead- but it better be damn good.  Pirates will be welcome in this RPG soon enough, as of yet they are not being cast.  I want to make this RPG as fantastical and adventuresome as possible. I would like each character to keep a basis of POTC traits but it is your mermaid- make her your own. Give her a persona, depth and idiosyncrasies- all will be welcome. If she is a secret lesbian- so be it. Be creative. You do not need to follow all POTC rules here, that is merely a basis for these characters.  I would like to keep this RPG devoid of drama, one liners and whoring- all of that grates on my last nerve.  Sex in rp is fine here but it gets kinda of boring in my opinion, I would much rather see action, intrigue, drama, romance, friendship, horror and adventure. Sexual rp must be limited in the main storylines, keep your intimate stories to your own page please.  All mermaids here must follow the appearance guidelines and sport fangs. We are not Ariel type mermaids. Also keep as true to your caste as possible. If you are a blue tail- then be a leader, green tail -soldier and red tail- worker/servant, etc etc... I may add more groups as I see fit.  No demeaning, harassing or stalking fellow members. It will not be tolerated. Obsessive behavior will result in immediate dismissal.   No playby changes, for any mermaids depicted in the films. If you take one of these roles -you must follow the guidelines and mini -bio Nerissa wrote up.  You must be on at least 1-2 times a week. If you're going on hiatus, please inform Nerissa of such.  If you get a part, you MUST have a direct link to the RPG's page on your profile. Your name will, of course, be added to the member's section on the group profile pages.  Also, and I see this in abundance lately -if you are granted a role- I expect your profile to be clean and professional, if you need help I will assist you. I do not want to see so many graphics on the darn page that it slows my computer down when I visit it because of all the damn cookies.  Odds are if you like POTC - you like Capt. Sparrow- yes Johnny Depp but for goodness sake- do not put every damn picture up of your character up with Sparrow...I am sorry but I have seen this on many pages and honestly its just damn scary! If I was Johnny Depp I would be petrified...do not be an obsessed, crazy psycho please.  We will NEVER crossover with Twilight or True Blood- forget the idiot notion NOW!  NO Twilight characters allowed! NO NO NO!!! Not the characters Not the actors as play-bys NO NO NO!!!!!! No Vampire Diaries, The Originals or Pretty Little Liars playbys either. We do not condone the use of  what refer as "tween scene" playbys for this rpg.  Absolutely No One liners. no cyber-speech, no smutty defaults.  No killing of character unless the writer bailed on us or pissed us off. This is a role playing profile. I am not really a Greek god, or an actor.I role play within Ancient Times/Hercules/Xenaverse only.My character was created in 2007 on myspace. Even though Hephaestus is a real myth, my character, Hephestus (note the change in spelling) is my own. I have shaped his personality for years.Hephestus is a very shy man, preferring to keep to himself. So you won't run into him at a club, or out in a public fair or event. He prefers to stay in his forge or temple. Also, he will not set foot in Olympus, ever. The place holds many hurtful memories for him, so don't expect to run into him there, either.Hephestus' family has already been established, he is a Greek god. If you feel that he is part of your family, or if you want to play a member of his family, please ask, I won't just add some random kid or distant cousin unless your character is an established Olympian.������� I'll write one line to multi-para. I can novella but I really don't like to. I have been writing with one liners for about 9 years, but am trying to get back into multi-para. I have not had to flex my writing muscle in a VERY long time, so please bear with me. �������� Messages are for OOC, Comments are for IC. ������� I don't really need to discuss a storyline first but I'm not against it, in fact I prefer it. Do not involve me in another storyline without my permission, such as saying that my character will go somewhere or do something, or that you will do something to me. It's just wrong. I wouldn't do it to you, so don't do it to me.������� In that same vein, no cheating. This means Godmoding: Killing, maiming, kidnapping, and/or harming without my permission. Automoving: moving my character, making him do something or go somewhere. It's my character; I can do it just fine on my own. Metagaming: using information you gleaned from my storyline with someone else. My storyline's aren't any of your business unless you are invited to join it. Also, please do not include anything that is my character's trademarks in your story, like Heph's chains and such. It's just kind of rude. ������� No OOC drama of any kind. I won't put up with it. Any mature content on his page will be between him and his wife. Instead you stay very basic like above. Making scrollboxes is fine and centering text by doing this   is fine. It's when you do the font styles, and basically using any tool above can result in things disappearing. This i why a lot of people think something is wrong with my blog. Life is what it is. Sometimes it's rainbows of Skittles falling around you and then the next, a pitfall of melted Hershey's chocolate that seemingly slows down your forward progress. There has to be a point here but I've yet to figure it out but what the hell, I'm going with the Skittles tonight. Maybe the point will come back to me.In the meantime, there's this other thing I had to check on. Clint shakes his head, the lifts a cold glass with his favorite poison. A moment later, he glides the glass back down to the table top and picks up his pen. The fireplace is lighting up most of the room with flickering light even as the luminance of a lamp dimly lights up his desk. Soon after, pen begins to stroke against the page of his journal. Well...I had a hell of a week, which started off with me pulling a drunk and thinking I could take a shot at a bad guy. That went bass ackwards and now the cops are telling me I killed someone. That's bullshit. I know better. Even drunk off my ass, there's no way in hell I'd miss a shot like that. Still, I feel for the family and just as much for my face. Whoever said a woman can't slap the taste out of man's mouth when she's mad is full of shit. I know better...like over and over again.Note to self...see if Stark can create me some face guards.Anyways...Avengers do not kill. And even though I'm not an official Avenger these days does not mean I need this case hanging over my head. More like, I don't want the whole lecture from Steve telling me I should know better than to be in that situation to begin with. Tasha has been the only one to jump to my defense. She's the last one I expected to do that too. I guess people change over time. I have. Maybe she has too. We'll see. Then again, sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith. I'm willing. Rules! Well, well, well what do we have here? My name is Clopin Trouillefou the one and only king of the gypsies! It seems you have found your way into my court, how very clever of you! Though unfortunately  you will not live to tell the tale, unless...you sign my rules and prove yourself a true vagabond and truand! Should one fail to do such a task, we shall indeed be having good...noose tonight, if you get my drift!~ NOW! On with the rules, oui?  1. About Clopin: As you all may have noticed I am role playing as Clopin from Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame and Victor Hugo's Notre Dame de Paris. I play him both by the movie, the book and the play. I have also put a little twist upon his story to fit him properly into the OUAT verse, should any one of you like to know more on the character please read my bio which is located on my profile! 2. Understanding Clopin's Personality: Clopin is a very complex character, so to speak. He can come off as a energetic, kind loving man, who adores children and telling stories. Though in a blink of an eye he can become sadistic and full of dark humor, it all depends on who he is speaking too, his location, and the situation and mood at the time. He can also be explained as having a split personality disorder, ready to protect his people at any costs, though he does enjoy hanging the trespassers he finds lurking about his Court. 3. Mains and Connections: I would love to have some mains from either the Hunchback of Notre Dame and OUAT. Though, before I ask someone to become my main, I'd like to get to know them a bit more and get a good storyline going between our characters. I do not like to rush into things when it comes to mains. 4. Relationships: When my character gets into a relationship he will always be very faithful to his lover no matter what, and he expects the same from them. His lover will also come first in everything that he does. Though it takes a lot to catch this king's eye. 5. Ships: I honestly ship Clopin with just about anyone, it all relays on chemistry between character's. If Clopin feels as if something is there, then he will go for it. And if he does not, he will stay friends with that person. I like things to fall into place naturally. 6. AU {Alternate Universe}: I absolutely adore doing AU storylines! I find them to be very creative and fun! So, if anyone has some AU ideas concerning Clopin and their character, please share! :D 7. Writing Style: I am a novella and multi para roleplayer. I do not accept one liners in storylines at all! The only time I do accept one liners are in statuses or photo comments. 8.  Crossovers: I don't mind doing crossovers at all, since this character would be considered a crossover as well. I am willing to do crossovers with just about any verse just as long as it makes sense with Clopin and his story. 9. Real Life: I have a real life outside of roleplay so if my replies become slow please forgive me that means something is going on that I have to take care of in RL. But I will get to them as soon as I can, all I ask for is patience. Remember, good thing comes to those who wait! ;)10. Mature Content: Clopin is a very dark themed character, in the Disney movie he may not seem like the type but in the book he is, and he runs his court with very ruthless rules. Should someone be caught trespassing within his court a trial will be in order, and there is only three ways to save yourself from the noose: 1. You must admit to being: A thief, a beggar, a vagabond, a receiver of stolen goods and one who must hide from the world. 2. A mannequin covered in bells are then set up, then a rickety three-legged stool is placed underneath it. Now, the mannequin has a pocket and in that pocket a purse. You must take the purse without a single bell ringing. And if the bells ring, you hang. If the bells ring for another reason than that person touching it, they hang. There is no way around that. 3. Should a bell ring, you may have one last chance at survival. You can be married off within the court, and if someone is chosen to marry you than you will be safe and considered a member of the court for a year. Now once you have been accepted into the Court a certain initiation must occur: For the first eight days after being welcomed into the court, you can not leave. And for those eight days it is a tradition to be beaten with a whip, to make sure there is no weakness left in you. Weakness is not welcomed in the Court. To be a truand it is worth the pain. Now, I am willing to bend these rules a little bit if someone is uncomfortable with them, but keep in mind I'm not making Clopin do this just because, he does it because it was in the book and I am merely keeping to the brilliant character Victor Hugo has created.
