Personality
Kida's personality can very widely depending upon her mood and mindset at the given moment. Because of the many hardships she's endured at the hands of humans, she tends to be very leery and untrusting of them in general until she gets to know them enough to be certain they aren't coming to her with a hidden agenda. Her loyalty is absolute once it is gained, she's will to go to any lengths to protect those she sees as worthy of her trust. Kida despises arrogance, disloyalty, betrayal, disrespect and anything she sees as humanocentric. When fighting she prefers to allow her opponent the first strike, as she dislikes involving herself in a fight unless she feels her adversary has established a need for her to defend herself.

You should have just surrendered, at least then you'd stand a chance of survival. But since you chose war, I will be your death... beware of the shadows.
It was early in 45bby, black flames licked their way across many of the forests and mountains immediately around the Serinan capital city as Sarah Noroga went into labor in the care of the healers of the Eastern Temple. It was safely tucked away in a higher altitude mountain pass where she would labor for nearly twelve hours to give birth to her third child. She’d been tormented with vision of the girl’s future before she’d even become pregnant with her. A child born to harness a dark flame, to lead her people out of this long and bloody civil war that had raged for nearly 2,000 years now, to also walk among outsiders as both a Serinan Guard and a Jedi. Her daughter’s path would hold many accomplishments but also a great deal of pain.
For the first three days of her life, she remained nameless in the care of her father as her mother focused on recovering from the birth. During this time the Serinan Guard had been mobilized to help the populace who had panicked due to the fires, as well as to make sure everything was extinguished so anything that had been destroyed could be rebuilt. On the third night Yuway presented the young girl to her mother for the first time, as he gave her the name Kida Noroga. Unlike most in their bloodline she’d been born with the first of their dragon crests, the double black dragons on her upper left shoulder. Normally that crest wouldn’t appear before the age of six with the crest on the back of her shoulder appearing around the age of ten or eleven.
The first three years of her life she remained on Serina IV with her family growing, learning from both of her parents as well as from her older brother. It was during her third-year word was sent to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. The Serinan Jedi Healer Arexia was sent to fetch the girl and bring her to the Temple for further testing. She was familiar with Arexia already as the Healer did occasionally return home to the capital visiting the Noroga main branch family when she did. Since Kida was familiar with her, she didn’t feel threatened by her presence like she would with a true outsider that she didn’t know. At this time in her life Kida spoke only the Serinan language in a dialect found mostly in the capital. Arexia would be her translator when she went before the Jedi Council for the first time. She would also be charged with all medical care for Kida as most outsiders didn’t know how to care for Serinans.
Arriving on Coruscant she was introduced to Master Qui-Gon Jinn and Jedi Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi. Both would be very important in her life until the age of thirteen for Qui-Gon; and for life for Obi-Wan. Once called before the Council she would be introduced to the man who would become her Master, Mace Windu. She became very close with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan very quickly, watching them anytime she wasn’t busy with her own training. As for her relationship with her own Master… it remained very difficult as he never wanted to take on her training to begin with as he’d recently trained a Padawan. He also found himself unnerved by her dark aura and short temper.
She also spent time training and learning from Daria in traditional Serinan martial skills once she reached the age of four. In between her Jedi training he would help teach her all the skills she would need to know for her life as a Serinan Guard. She regularly heard many comments from Jedi of all ages referring to her continued connection to her people and culture… all of them were less than supportive or sometimes insulting in nature. Even her own Master was less than supportive of her continued connection to her home. Often it caused the two to end up in rather heated arguments that occasionally turned violent requiring others to intervene breaking up the fight before anyone got too seriously injured.
Shortly after turning six, she found herself kidnapped from the Jedi Temple, severely beaten, and sold as a slave. Serinan’s could fetch a very high price on the slave market, even sometimes being bought within the bounds of the Republic despite the anti-slavery laws. Though she could have been sold for an eye watering amount as a Serinan Princess, the slaver that was charged with selling her wasn’t motivated purely by greed, because of that she found herself in Hutt space on Tatooine. Upon being brought to Tatooine she found herself in the custody of a Hutt for a short time before being sold to the Larrs family. She would remain in their custody until the age of nine. At that point the family found themselves in debt, selling the girl to settle the debt. At this point she found herself in the custody of Watto, alongside Anakin and Shmi Skywalker.
It didn’t take long for her to become very close with the Skywalker family. They’d been known to her while she was with the Larrs family. She’d run away from them more than once after being badly abused by them for the smallest infractions. Anakin had helped tend her wounds a few times. Once she belonged to Watto she lived much closer to them and could be seen with the Skywalker’s often when she wasn’t busy doing something for the Toydarian.
She’d been just outside Watto’s shop when Qui-Gon arrived looking for parts. He’d run into the girl outside, recognizing her instantly. He took a few moments before entering to stop and communicate with her. They still couldn’t speak the same language, though he’d been learning a bit of Serinan from Arexia since Kida had gone missing just in case he stumbled across her. She was able to tell him a little about her mistreatment. He assured her he would find a way to get her back to the Jedi Temple one way or another. She trusted him enough to be able to believe in his promise. Her growing mistrust of outsiders didn’t extend to him.
Within a matter of days Qui-Gon found a way to get his parts as well as free two of the three slaves that he’d hoped he might be able to barter for. He decided not to push his luck too far as to not attract the ire of a Hutt, or to end up losing a bet ending up with all of them trapped on this sandy back water world. He returned to his ship to deliver the parts so Obi-Wan could make the much-needed repairs, then returned to collect Anakin and Kida from Watto’s shop. After giving what was left of the winnings from the Boonta Eve race to Shmi he sent Anakin to collect his few belongings so they could leave. During this time Kida was also gathering what she’d managed to keep with her by chance before returning to the Jedi Master’s side. They departed shortly after for the outskirts where he’d left the Naboo cruiser. Upon reaching the ship the trio were ambushed by Maul. Anakin was told to flee for the ship, but Kida remained to help Qui-Gon. At thirteen years of age with incomplete training both as a Jedi and an assassin Kida was still more than enough of a threat to make Maul weary of the young girl. At no point did he take his eyes off either of them though alone he wouldn’t be enough to prevent their escape.
She would be present during the battle of Naboo helping to free them from the Trade Federation’s invasion. Though she wasn’t present for the rematch with Maul, she would sense Master Qui-Gon fall. Her job was to break through the Federation’s defenses around the prison camps, freeing the Naboo and the Gungans who’d been captured. She was also tasked with helping the Gungan army when the time came to fight the battle droids. She’d mourn the loss of her friend later once she was back within the familiar walls of the Jedi Temple. She’d also do her best to try to console Obi-Wan as he needed it… She may have lost a friend, but he’d lost his Master… a father…
Within a few weeks of returning to the Temple after the invasion of Naboo had been expelled she returned to her training as a Jedi as well as a Guardsmen. She was more temperamental for a few months after Qui-Gon’s funeral. It took time for her to work through her feelings enough to regain control of them. It was also during this time her crest made its appearance on the back of her left shoulder, marking her as a warrior within her family. If it had appeared on the right shoulder, she would have been seen as a healer. As it emerged, she spent a few days in pain, blocking her from any kind of training. Once it passed, she returned once again to her usual routine, spending the morning meditating, the afternoon training with Windu, and nights training with Daria. It was this routine that helped her to find what little solace she could after everything she’d experienced thus far in her life.
The Clone War begins…
She was in her early twenties when the first battle of Geonosis occurred, and she saw the Jedi Order shift roles from that of peacekeepers to the leader of a military force. This shift to the battlefield was new to the Order as it stood now, but it wasn’t new to her. She’d already gained experience fighting a war and leading forces due to the war on Serina. She knew she was at home in the chaos of battle, something that would unnerve many within the Order including her Master. In the opening months of the war, she would take her place as a Jedi Commander, after undergoing her Trials of Knighthood she became a Jedi General.
Her forces would work closely with Cody’s 212th, Rex’s 501st, and Master Plo Koon’s beloved Wolfpack many times during the war effort. More than once, both she and Anakin helped tip battles that otherwise would have been lost by the Republic forces in their favor due to their tactics and tenacity. Both gained the respect of their men by fighting alongside them, valuing their lives, and never asking of them that they wouldn’t ask of their selves first.
It was during this time both Anakin and Kida found themselves assigned their first Padawans. He was to train Ahsoka Tano, she was to train a fellow Serinan Kai Nurin. Kai was a member of Serinan lower nobility, the Nurin family were vassals to the Noroga’s. He’d come to the Order at the age of four, placed with her as a Padawan at the age of twelve. Like Kida he’d also been receiving training from Daria as a Serinan Guardsmen so she didn’t worry about his ability to take care of himself as much as she would others of his age within the Order. She would oversee his Jedi training until the end of the war when she and Anakin would carry out Operation Knightfall at Palpatine’s orders. In the final moments of the Jedi Order, she would give Kai a choice, remain at her side and continue his training though it would be far darker in nature, or flee home to Serina where he wouldn’t easily be hunted. Kai chose to remain at her side though he knew it wouldn’t be easy.
Empire to New Republic Era
maybe some little quote down here
The rise of Palpatine’s Empire…
It would be during her imprisonment in the brig by Tarkin that Palpatine would find out that her Padawan still lived. Tarkin had arrested both due to his dislike of her. Within a matter of days, she would find herself answering to Palpatine directly over the choice she’d made to spare the young man, but she wasn’t afraid of him nor of the price for protecting her apprentice. She would resort to violence if she felt she needed to protect her fellow Serinan and those who knew her best within the emperor’s ranks knew it. Palpatine was annoyed enough by her choice he’d decided to punish her in person for this transgression. He had his guards bring her from the brig to stand before him and answer why the boy still lived. Though her hands were cuffed with binders and her visible weapons were confiscated she was far from harmless. She was all the weapon she needed to continue to infuriate him currently. She knew he feared her abilities, he always had, and now that she wasn’t under the thumb of the Jedi, she was more than willing to resort to her full potential. While in the brig she’d removed the bindings from her right arm that kept the dragons that were wrapped around it slumbering, giving the bindings to Myn for safe keeping. Already she could feel them waking up, eager to lend their power to hers should she ask it. Without taking her eyes off Palpatine she flexed her power slightly, just enough the binders fell from her wrists. Their loud metallic clank as they hit the floor wasn’t lost on him, she was now standing before him unrestricted. She could see a slight twitch of fear cross his face, unperceivable to anyone who couldn’t read body language as well as she could. She was relishing any sign of fear from him as it told her that he realized she was something not easily controlled.
Taking a slow deep breath she called to the shadows, darkening the room completely as she’d been brought to one of the few rooms on board with low lighting making it easy for her to snuff it out. She knew the guards could still see due to their masks, but she knew it would limit Palpatine’s sight greatly. It was no secret that she could operate perfectly unimpeded in the dark due to her abilities. Bright light was her enemy, it blinded her in more ways than one as it took away her shadows that also acted as eyes for her. In the now darkened room, she soundlessly circled her prey watching his fear heighten due to his own physical limitations. She wasn’t traceable in the Force as she’d concealed that side of her presence already to further toy with him. What she didn’t know was he’d expected her to lash out, so he’d prepared a counter ahead of time. Because he knew she had managed to make friends within his Red Guard, he’d brought members of his Shadow Guard with him. He knew she did have anyone loyal to her within their ranks, so they were the perfect tool to deploy against her. He’d had them set up several lights around the room so that when switched on, not a single shadow would remain for her to use to her advantage. To prevent her from spotting them they’d made sure the lights blended seamlessly with the room.
“You won’t overpower me this easily, child.”
With him speaking the lights switched on, flooding the room and blinding her completely. He’d turned the advantage back in his favor leaving her unable to easily fight back. She instantly stopped concealing herself within the Force out of instinct. In her panic she was desperately hunting for Anakin’s familiar presence to draw him to her aide as she’d done so many times before. She found him, but he didn’t answer her call as she could feel the sedatives coursing through his body. She refused to call her apprentice to her as he wasn’t yet ready to face the emperor alone. She… was the one alone right now, alone and at his mercy. It was in that instant she heard the lightning cracking off his fingertips, seconds later she felt it coursing through her body wracking her with pain. She gritted her teeth refusing to scream out, she’d felt worse than this over the years as she was no stranger to both dealing in and receiving torture. It had given her an extremely high tolerance for pain, one that as of now he wasn’t in danger of surpassing… yet. She had no way of knowing what else he’d schemed to try to break her down. She was strong willed and driven… she knew for Anakin’s sake she couldn’t allow herself to be broken by this monster. She knew if that happened there would be no saving either of them in the future.

It really had been a while since he had been in Serinian space, he took her up on her offer nodding at that, the sound of a new fleet being built along with some of the other projects intrigued him even more. He also wanted to see for himself what the state of the Serinian colonies was like now these days. He had only stayed at the capital and explored the capital and its confines.
“I’ll have one of them pilot the shuttle into the flagship hanger, I doubt we’ll encounter anything serious during our trip.”
Over the years there had been a power vacuum with the disappearance of the CoH, that portion of space had gone through territorial changes, first with the New Republic, and now, it was partially with the New Republic and an Imperial Remanant. The Imperials had expanded within the first month, taking over some outer rim planets, Sy had not located their fleet yet however Sy did hear that they had gotten into an encounter with some Republic forces a while back. Of course if they so chose to encroach into Serinian territory Sy knew the empress would act swiftly.
“Lead the way.”
He took this trip as an opportunity one that he was taking to both unwind and see for himself the other worlds that Kida was responsible for, he had only seen the daily lives of those living in the capital, those outside of it, Sy had no idea what it was like for those residents.
Darth Sidious, the name that was known to those most familiar with the Clone Wars, Sy wasn’t too peculiar about being labeled with the likes of the Emperor or his enforcer Vader. More importantly those rumors seemed to be true and the Serinan Order had still been keeping eyes on the movements of this former Empire that was described by her. Sy doubted they would act within the next few rotations, which meant that there was time to take care of other things on their plate.
“Well I doubt they will try to make any moves against the Serinian Order, more importantly what’s on your agenda for today, surely you didn’t come here to stare out the viewport all day.”
Sy half joked and half asked up front, if there was anything Sy could help with he had meant it, even if he had been away for a while, this was still somewhere he considered home, and the fragility of being able to keep the peace here was something in which he would do whatever was needed to within his limits and the rules in order to ensure that it was kept. Despite his relaxed nature, he could still see the visible struggle and the toll it was taking on his friend.
That very struggle he could see, made him wince emotionally as he too could feel it being this close, it wasn’t her fault in the matter, being at the top of the chain meant responsibilities and sometimes enemies from within and outside. Sy knew all too well what it was like to have those responsibilities, and carry the weight of every decision that meant the fates of those around. As difficult as it seemed, he did do his best to reach out mentally to at least do his best to show that he was there.
The ghost skin that silently stitches and mends physical wounds does nothing for the ailments of the heart and soul, and as blood continues to blossom like the button of a poisonous flower, with grief and anger tethering the edges of his heart, he is reminded of his faith. Days and their respective nights have kept him in vigil and in despair, as a blatant transgression to the creeds he has been taught to follow for most of his life. To close his eyes is a penitence that brings the scene of the crimson and ebony demon that dances as he spears his beloved mentor, and the pain he remembers that follows the scream of agony rings loudly at his tympany again. It’s a cadence that repeats itself time and time again without intermission, driving him closer to madness, as if the precipice he almost lost his life in the core of plasma laid a claim on him.
Faith that has somehow managed to aid him exert some semblance of control over the wildfire of his emotions as he remembers the vow he promised to his late mentor, of training the child that’s been prophesized to be the Chosen One. It is his choice to move past the hurt and anger their initial introduction sprung in his heart to embrace Qui-Gon’s vision that the young boy with dirty blonde hair is the fabled balance he so adamantly believed in, the avatar of all the stories about the prophecy he was forced to read and study when he was younger. For, perhaps, in him, in fulfilling that singular promise, Qui-Gon’s vision can live on.
The soft sound of his door sliding open beckons his attention, and steely blue eyes pose on the newcomer. For the past few days he has lost all notion of time, unaware of just how many days had transpired since the loss of his Master to the present; it all bled into a sick blur he struggled to make sense out of, and even as he ran his hand through his hair, it still felt unreal that his fingers could no longer reach the braid that once symbolized his status as a student. Now, not only he was a full-fledged Knight, but he was also a Master to a boy fabled to bring balance to the Force, and though Qui-Gon made him study the prophecy of the Chosen One time and time again, he still found it hard to believe that someone so innocent, so unprepared, had to bear such a responsibility on his shoulders.
“Ever since Master Qui-Gon took me as his apprentice, I felt like no matter what, I had him to fall back on. We both were looking forward to the day I took the trials so we could take on missions together as equals.”
Slowly, he raises from his bed, walking over to the small coffee table where different mementos from his late Master had been collected from his room. Master Yoda had advised him to take his time in retrieving his belongings from his room, and he had done so earlier that week. There were mementos of his many missions together, pieces of their joined past that he would keep forever.
”I am barely a knight and now I am expected to be a Master. I do not even know where to begin.” He reaches over for his Master´s lightsaber then, clipped to his belt. There’s a flash of anger in his otherwise calm blue eyes, the memories of the duel that claimed Qui-Gon’s life inevitably flooding his mind. His hold around the weapon tightens momentarily as he acknowledges these feelings, accepting them, then releasing them into the Force. “I don’t think I have even properly finished my training, and now I have to teach someone else what it means to be a Jedi…”
He listened to her words, Sy noticed the toll that was taken upon her, pausing for a moment to consider his words he thought for a moment, there were many reasons why he had come back, for one, he considered it for a few months now to reenter the servitude of the Serinan Empire, the second task at hand was that here was the closest to the rumors of an Imperial Remanant gathering in another sector. Of course those were just the rumors that needed to be verified. Sy finally replied after a while his gaze still on her.
“Well, for one just needing to verify some rumors in a neighboring sector, something about an Imperial Remanant resurfacing, however my primary reason is my intention to join the servitude of the Serinan Empire.”
That decision had been on his mind for a while now, he had contemplated it since before the journey, things were changing in the galaxy faster than he could anticipate sure he did make a bold request but it was something that he had done on an instinct, he had been taught to follow his instincts as well as the force itself, yet this was one of those moments where he relied on his own personal instinct. A feeling to which he was not able to describe yet he was able to make up his mind. He found his stance shifting, where he relaxed more, being here made him feel at ease, yet he couldn’t help but ask.
While Shin was easily able to be considered an adept wielder of the force, there were still places where her skill lacked. In this particular moment it was safe to say that her mastery of the physical side of the force was well understood. Despite the quantity of shots that threatened her over the course of this time, not a single one that could have hit her did. Trusting in the force is where she lacked her skill. In her mind this was a do or die situation, the concept that an outside force would come in and save the day was not something she would even consider. This was a desolate planet, why would she consider the faint possibility that anything would go her way without her actions taking charge?
Despite the sound of all of the shooting, the distinct sound of a lightsbaer being ignited seemed to deafen it all out. She noticed it. The bandits noticed it. Suddenly the firing against her seemed to cease and all eyes went to the new player on the field. A quick initial assumption was that Ahsoka had come to the scene but that obsidian blade, she didn't recognize it nor the woman connected to it.
The next few moments seemed to go by in a flash. The shadows swallowed the woman and left nothing but carnage of strewn, severed bodies along the cave's floor. She'd be lying if she said the swift massacre didn't ignite a bit of nervousness in the young woman but that would not be easily read off of her. But, make no mistake, an escape route had already been plotted out in her head should this situation take a turn against her.
Shin's eyes were locked on the woman once the bandits were dead and the woman now made her way towards her. Despite the fact that the woman had turned off her saber and hitched it back to her belt, Shin's guard was not let down. She was abundantly aware that a lightsaber was not the fiercest weapon their kind had and it was impossible not to register the strength of this woman.
Both of her hands were wrapped around her lightsaber, the orange hue of her blade still shined brightly and aimed at the woman. Consider it her safety buffer. Shin's lips were slightly parted as her chest rose and fell with deep breaths but she was still ready to fight if need be. No thank yous would come from Shin, her trust in the situation was non existent. No one did anything just to be nice, at least not from her experience. So, she cut right to the point when questioning with her low tone, "Why would you help me? Who are you?"
Sytarius Sordana had survived through the ages from being in the service of CoH to being under the servitude of the Arsenixc Empire in wild space. Arsenixc had been on par to the Galactic Republic during its height, Sy had formed a sect of Order and an alliance had been established with the Republic and Arsenixc, several years had passed since the fall of the Arsenixc Empire and Republic. Throughout the years Sordana still kept up to date on the events throughout the galaxy, including his short stay with the Serinian Empire.
The galaxy was always in motion be it political or militaristic, Sy found himself back in Serinian space, it had taken a while to send a forwarded message, having to go through the process was tedious at most, but he had finally received the go ahead and cleared through the background checks. Serina XXV was like another home to Sy. The shuttle merged with the numerous ship traffic before it would enter it’s assigned docking bay that was given by the dock authorities. On board the shuttle as the landing ramp lowered, Sy stood speaking to one of the troopers on board that had accompanied him on the trip.
“Stay aboard the shuttle, I will be fine.”
A nod of acknowledgement was given as Sy then made his way off the ramp, the dock guards were there to meet Sy, whom was dressed wearing his normal attire, brown-black robes, tunic and the lightsaber hilt at his side, he followed the two guards as they led the way to where he was supposed to go. Finally they stopped at a doorway beckoning him forward to which he did, the doors opened. The aura in the room shifted upon his entry, he could feel it out in the open even before he had stepped in, he waited for a moment before making himself known.
“Well someone seems to be lost in their thoughts.”
Sy teased at someone he had not seen in quite a while. A reunion that was long overdue, on the other hand, his mind had already contemplated deciding to take up residence within this sector of space.
Life has a way of going from bad to worse in the matter of a blink of an eye.
Bad was coming to this barren planet.
Worse was being left here alone.
The bandits had not been a feasible solution to Shin's problems. In fact, without being at Baylan's side, the bandits had seen her as another target. Just one young female on her own? What means of respect could she gather from a rough and tough gang?
It had been days since she had gone to them with hopes of asylum. Since then she had been on the run from them after slaying a numerous amount of them once they had turned on her. She and her howler had been on the go with no set destination set in mind. Mainly because she had no idea what else was here. She just knew that staying in one place was dangerous. They were following her. Not only could she feel that, she had been attacked multiple times by now by them.
She wasn't scared, make no mistake on that. It was a nuisance more than anything else. What she needed was a moment to make a plan. She needed a glimmer of something, anything, to help her formulate a plan on what to do next. Maybe where to go.
But she was never the one who made plans. She was the one who was told where to go. Told what to do. There was a truth to her matter that she had yet to accept... She was lost without her master's guidance.
When she deemed it safe to stop and as the sun was setting, often she would stand still and listen to the world around her. She would listen with her ears, but also with the force. She was listening for her master to call out to her, to tell her that she could come find him - or even better, he was coming to her.
The silence she heard was deafening.
A shallow cave is where Shin and her beast had spent this particular night. Just a cave to cover her head and to protect her back. A small fire had been made to cook a small native animal she had captured earlier that day. At some point as she looked out over the wilds she had fallen asleep.
What she woke up to was the sound of the bandits hollering with their riffles in the air because they had her surrounded. Shin was quick to get to her feet and quick to access the situation in front of her. There were at least a dozen of them outside of the cave and they seemed to be laughing at their assumption of having her out numbered. Few of them had their blasters pointed but had yet to shoot. Were they trying to savor this moment?
Her hands were hidden beneath her worn cloak and by now had already unholistered her lightsaber. She had done that part slowly to not draw attention so that she could make the first move; bringing her arms out in front of her and igniting it. That's when the bandits began to shoot. Even by her standards this was a bit overwhelming, deflecting away each shot she could. If she were lucky she would be able to take down a few of them with their own blasts. The problem was this defensive move would only suffice for so long. Constantly having to knock away blasts for an extended period of time was going to become tiring, she needed to find a way to flip the switch and go on the offense.
Anticipation had the former sith’s perceptions honed, focused. His thoughts drifted in a restrictive, disciplined manner. Pondering future machinations, all circling back to what had him so pensive in the first place. The bait had been set for Kenobi… The Duchess got out her desperate call for help before being recaptured. It was only a matter of time. A fact that had Maul’s frenzied obsession with revenge burning brighter than ever, lighting what was almost an edge of crazed fury in his eyes.
To have lost so much in his life, and so much of it to Kenobi… 12 years... For 12 years he had waited for this. Soon, he would have revenge. What he was owed.
“Lord Maul-”
A sharp intake of breath, and the usurper’s gaze lifted from meticulous contemplation. His head craned only the slightest, the piercing stare of a single eye, given the angle, pinning the source of the disturbance. Saxon. He released a gruff, irritable sigh, hands falling from their refined posture clasped behind his back, his bearing falling to something more reflective of his shift in mood. Pensive, anticipatory.
“Yes?” he bit through grit teeth, his eyes deadly flames in the dim lighting of the throne room.
If Saxon was off put by the harshness of his leader, it was a reaction lost beneath the faceless guise of a Mandalorian t-visor. Maul pried the Force, sensing the eagerness in Saxon’s impending words. His plans were falling perfectly into place.
“My lord, Kenobi has taken the bait. He has freed the Duchess and they are attempting their escape as we speak” Saxon reported, lifting his hand to bear the holoprojection of one of the southern landing pads to the prison facility, ablaze with blaster fire, conflict, and death.
Yes. He can feel it; the Force is swelling with the violence. Keen like a blade, the dark side is simmering, ever his steadfast ally. He lifted a cool, dark smile. “Good.”
He turned to more directly face his lieutenant, hands behind his back once more, a calm, assured certainty in his impending, looming victory easing a regality about his posture once more. “Have a speeder prepared, and summon my brother to meet us there. We would not want to keep our guest waiting, would we?”
His presence burgeoned in the Force with an anticipatory thrill at a victory almost within his grasp, long waited for. Long deserved.
She had a feeling Kida was not going to be so easily persuaded, which made her huff slightly. It was always like this with the stubborn empress, though she would be damned if she let her get away with being so hard on herself. Crossing her arms defiantly, her expression was a mix of frustration and concern. "You've been at this non-stop, Kida. You can't keep going like this. You're pushing yourself to the edge."
Realizing the edge to her voice, Angel sighed and let the frustration exit in that woosh of breath.. "I appreciate you feel like you're abandoning your duties whenever you aren't working, but ou're not alone in this. Anakin and Tierce are here. Let them shoulder some of the burden. You don't have to carry it all." Squatting down, Angel placed a hand on Kida's shoulder, a gesture of sisterly solidarity. "You're not abandoning anyone by taking a breather, Kida. You're ensuring you're in this fight for the long haul. We need you at your best, not running on empty." Silver eyes met emerald ones as she continued. "These fighters aren't the only things that need care," she urged, her voice carrying a mix of concern and determination.
"I know you think that you can't, but delegating responsibilities to those you trust may be of use. After all, you may just find yourself able to have more than a power nap," she cooed, trying to coax her sister into compliance. She knew she would have to succeed or risk everyone suffering the empress' irritable mood until she decided to finally take care of herself. It was a challenge and one she was determined to meet head on, if not just for Kida's sake, then for the sake of the military she commanded.
