⭑ Atticus was born in Arizona but travelled frequently due to his parents being in the field of research. He can speak three languages, their family spending a year or more in the locations being studied. They worked long hours in the field so he ended up maturing quite fast, taking care of himself most of the time but he didn't mind because he enjoyed the quiet.
⭑ They were a teacher's pet growing up because Atticus loved the nurturing nature they gave him. His never-ending curiosity and quest for more knowledge made him a favorite in the class. This imprinted a deep love for the education system, making his eventual transition into the field less daunting.
⭑ Ze struggled with internalizing things, trying to be less of a nuisance on those around zem, Atticus found a release within art - watching and creating. It started with films, they used their vhs collection to help pass time around such an empty house; keeping his imagination vivid as he escaped into each universe. His admiration towards animated films turned into sketching, everywhere, all the time. Atticus still continues to do this, keeping his sketch pad in his favorite satchel with his fidget collection and crushed snack wrappers. In zir teens, ze began turning the ideas into a physical thing; creating a small army of puppets and stuffed figures.
⭑ Atticus was gifted, skipping grades multiple times, allowing him to graduate high school at the age of sixteen. Following in his parents footsteps, he doubled majored in biology and psychology, the length of the courses kept him in school until he was twenty-two; his credentials scoring him a job at the University of California afterward.
⭑ Working with the dead was a bittersweet thing, he liked being able to give a reason and why to those who had to live with the loss. It was the greatest comfort you could give to the grieving but things kept him up at night, it wasn't that he saw blood and guts most days, but having to accept the pure evil that came with the scenes. Seeing loss and grief, day in and day out, weighed too heavily on his shoulders. Soon after turning thirty, they switched the course of their life by swapping career paths, going from crime to education.
