The name's Ruby Daly and I am an Orange, now to those of you who don't know what that means for some reason I will tell you my story and maybe that will help you get the reality of it all!
I was born in Virginia and for a time life was good,though I had no idea about what was really going on out there because my parents made it so...oh god I miss them,sorry got off track there any way my first exposure to the sickness that would later wipe out half of the children population was when a girl in my class died in front of us all.
After that? Well it was just a matter of time and one by one my class mate fell to it, though for some reason I never was infected. This fact worried my parents and they argued a lot after that.
When I was 10 years old they argued again about how to celebrate it and so I ran to my room not wanting to hear it,thinking it was my fault and when I went to their room I lay by their side and kissed them on the head saying I was sorry, but that one moment changed everything.
When I woke up my parents looked at me like I was a stranger,this scared me because I had no idea what was going on and when they locked me in the garage I knew something was up relizing that I had some how erased myself from their minds.
That is when they came for me the PSF came to get me. Now there is something you need to know about all of this,the moment the sickness hit people got scared and so the government create camps for the surviving kids,now you might think that was a good thing but trust me it really wasn't you see they feard us because all the kids that survived came back with powers,but I will get to that in a moment.
I was thron on a bus with other kids and when the bus stopped at the camp we were forced out of there,but one of the kids tried to escape and used his power to do so and in that moment they shot him with no mercy like he was a dog in the street or something.
Any way I was taken to a place that was meant to decide what power I had and the doctor there told me that each power had it's own color...green for those who were highly intelegent,blue for those who had tk powers and yellow for those with Electrokinesis and then he showed me the top of the charts saying that there was Orange who have the power to control someone's mind,put thoughts in their heads and all that and those were meant to be shot on sight and the reds that had Pyrokinesis and they were considerd to be the lethal ones also to be shot on sight.
Now naturally I figured out from this that I was an orange seeing how I had totally erased myself from my parent's minds and so I used my power to convince the man that I was a green and nothing to worry about.
For the next 6 years I stayed in that camp in hiding and even made a friend,but then my power kicked in again and I accidently made her forget about me too.
One day the doctor that worked at the place told me that she could get me out of there and if I wanted to I could take the pills before bedtime and she left a note that had the words 'from a friend,if you like' and so that night I took the pills.
I was then hit with pain and I was shaking violently so they took me to her and when no one was looking she helped me get out of there. I had fallen asleep in the car and when I woke up we were at a gas station and she introduced me to her boyfriend,though when I touched his hand I saw that he had lied about not being able to save those he went after because he had gotten them out and shot them both in the head.
This made me think they were enemies so I went to get changed and was about to run off when I spotted a girl who ran away the moment I came close so I followed her and she pulled me into a black van before the others could see me.
She then hid me from veiw and when the van started to drive I showed myself and the boys that were there freaked at first but eventually they let me stay and we were on the way.
They told me their names were Liam and Chubs and Liam told me he was a blue,Chubs was a green and the one that saved me was named Zu and she was a yellow and so I lied to them telling them that I was a green because by then it was second nature to me like a protection fail safe if you will.
We were then chased by a bounty hunter and those that I thought I had lost but Liam used his power to make them have to stop and we were clear of them after that.
We were together like a family after that and Liam and I grew close in that time as well. He told me they were looking for a camp lead by the one they called the Slip Kid because he always seemed to avoid the camps som how.
On the way there the bounty hunter found us and so to keep Liam and the others safe I used my power and told her to untie Liam and leave never to come back...oh ya one more thing they have a reason for color coding our powers because everytime we use the powers we were given our eyes glow and in my case they glow orange for the ovious reasons and that is why I started all of this by saying I am an Orange.
Any way when we found the camp we were accepted like one of them and when we met the leader I saw he was an Orange like me and that his name was Clancy and so because of that connection I asked him to train me and in that time we tiught each other a lot of things,but ten the truth if it all was shown to me and I relized he was a big reason why all the kids like us get hunted.
We tried to run but he was there to stop us and so I fought him power to power,but he was too strong and so Liam and the others got me out of there.
Chubs was hurt while getting away and when the camp was attacked by the Reds who were nothing but mindless drones used to kill anyone in the way of their masters as it were.
It was then that I called for the Children's League to help us and they took us all to camp. They told me that Chubs was in the hospital and that he was gong to be alright and that made me happt,though when they spoke of Liam I understood they were never going to let him go and so I agreed to join them and be their leader if they let him go.
I knew he would never willingly leave me and so I went to his room and we had one more kiss and moment together before I used my power and earsed myself from his mind...a move that hurt me then and it kills me inside even now,but it was the only way to keep him safe.
Now I am the leader of a revelution I never asked for and I go on mission for them using my powers against the enemy and even though they see me as a leader I see myself as nothing more than a monster at times.
