"Our past predicts the profits of our future"
Background Born to a family with some prominence, afforded all the opportunities in life but none of that mattered. When you’re on the end of a receiving end of a punch those who step up and prove loyal, that is where your life goes. How much bloodshed could have been prevented, how many lives could have been spared if it was not for that fateful bully whose pebble in the water created ripples and tsunamis which would destroy the lives and families of others. Remember all your monsters are not born that way, it is a creation of the life around so you should be careful because you just never may know.
Popguns and pebbles, the playthings of young boys quickly traded for pistols and pointed knives much to the dismay of the prosecutor who devoted his life to keeping boys like his son off the streets. But a mere man, incapable of seeing the truth the sins of the father pushed the faults of the son as time and time again what should have been a wakeup call was a side word and a gentle pardon. Boys will be boys, a phrase often used to cover up the inexcusable as just a phase. But sometimes phases they don’t go away they just get stronger, and as those convictions grew so to did the loyalty of the once victim to his saviors, to the point he would die for them if they so asked.
Life is a series of experiences, of lessons and that concept of loyalty was learned from a very young age, not in the streets or the halls of school but in a simple American woman. Light skinned, blue eyes and a calm temperament, she was the teacher of the importance of connections and sticking by your word. The ever dutiful wife, practicing blind devotion to the one she loved. Silently she taught these lessons to her son with every kept word, every act of acceptance to her man. It was wit effort she maintained her end of the bargain that is marriage and her reward was being treated like a queen the rewards of selfless service even as the world fell apart around them.
Trauma, a shared experience of humanity the true tests of life, giving us options to succumb to persevere. It is an entity that visits us all and one which visited on the throes of a passionate exchange between a group of teenagers. It was a night that is remembered well as often the case when you take your first life. Blood brought the end of a red short as the knife slipped through the ribs of one seeking to harm his friend. The first death of many at the hands of Carlos Perez in the name of the Montana’s. On that day the first dark secret was born, a lifeless body slumping to the ground from a pierced long as they tried to hurt his friend. On this day when trauma came knocking it was met with perseverance, and it was because of this a secret would destroy one family while another began.
