My lost love

Falling in love is easy, but getting over the heartbreak of losing someone you care for so deeply.... now that is so much harder.

When a wolf mates, it is typically for life. For one of the god-like persuasion, however, that can become far more complicated. So what happens when one such as Seila was to lose her mate? Well, the heart would break and the memory of that pain would last until death finally came. Such a thing came to pass after centuries of life and running from those who feared her.

His name was Lincoln, and he was a wolf-like her. Unlike her, he was mortal, though that bothered neither one of them. They met at the bar she owned, and instantly hit it off. What started as friendship bloomed into love, but like all good things in Seila's life, it came to an end just as suddenly as it began. She watched the man she fell in love with, the only person she trusted outside of family get taken from her.

She had never expected there to be hunters in the mortal world, but some had found her and Lincoln. See, they believed in the supernatural world and wanted to rid the world of it. And so they hunted the creatures Seila worked so hard to protect with her little bar that she used her magic to hide. But in the end, her magic couldn't protect the one she had given her heart to.

The hunters killed him when her back was turned and she watched him take his last breath. She held him as he died, the bodies of the hunters she killed around her in that alley way. When he took his last breath, she cried out in pain, wishing she had the magic to bring him back to life. But even that was beyond her. She took care to bury him in a place close by where she could visit, hoping one day to release her rage on others who would dare kill those like her.

The Truth Comes Out in Time.

"The Truth Always Comes Out in Time." Seila had always been told that her mother died in childbirth. Odin liked to remind her of such things, including that she was the product of a forbidden love, and as time moved on, Seila soon ignored such things, getting used to the stories of how her mother died. Nobalie was a witch, but more than that, she could turn into a wolf, much like she and her father could. But the blame for that was put on Nobalie, stating that she cursed Fen and Seila with the wolf form before she died.

It wasn't until she started to go through her Grandfather's things that she began to question if this was truth. Her father kept journals of his magic, travels and the goings on with his children. One in particular caught her eye though, a wolf embossed on the leather cover. She sat and read it, learning that Nobalie never cursed her, nor did she die giving birth to the youngest of Fenrir's children. In fact, she was thought to be alive in one of the other realms.

When Odin  had found out about Fen mating with a witch, he grew furious, demanding that the pregnancy be terminated. But Nobalie refused, and so Odin put a plan in place to fake her death, and once Fen had taken the baby away would banish her from Asgard, hiding it from the sight of the witch herself. Loki had promised to send her what he could about Seila, but stated there wasn't more he could do. The lie would have to hold in place until Seila was old enough, and strong enough to handle the All Father.

Growing angry, she marched out of the room, throwing the journal with the picture of her parents in it at Odin's feet. "You lied to me. All these years you said she was dead." She spat, her hands shaking at her sides. Frigga looked at the journal, a sigh passing the woman's lips.

Frigga explained the fear that was there for all of them if Nobalie lived in Asgard, but all Seila heard was the fear laced words from Odin. "You should not have been born. I gave no permission of such things, and you should have died. Frigga kept you alive. Show respect you little brat." The old man hissed, Seila growling out in anger.

"I missed out on years with my mother, because of your fear. Have you not learned that your fear is what creates the monsters you so fear? That we become what you hate, feeding off your words. If it is a monster you want then, All Father, then a monster you shall have."

War of the Gods Drabble
Current mood:  amused

If we are to die, we will die fighting.
S
eila had spent most of her days on Midgard, finding that the people were far more interesting than those in Asgard. It was hard for her to live with the gods, considering Odin had labeled her as evil simply because of who her parents were. Born to Fenrir and a witch, she was considered dangerous. Though she was taught to fight from Sif, it was still clear she wasn't wanted around. So she left to live among the people, to see if she could find happiness. And she did. She watched her loved ones glow with the praise and worship they were given, and fed off the pure joy that was given to them. But as time went on, she and those like her were long forgotten.

She had wandered, lost, in a world that didn't need her anymore, finding that there were new gods. She watched the switch happen, becoming angry at first, but soon, she became numb. Her family was spread out, gone from her sight, and there were very few like her left in the world. Save for Odin and Easter, she didn't know who else lived from her home. She wondered if there would ever be a time when the old gods would ever return. Save for the rare whisper in the wind, they were all gone.

That was how she met Mad Sweeney. She had found herself in a bar, one of the many she stumbled into on occasion. He had gotten into a fight, and out of boredom, she joined in on the fray. By the end of the night, the two were drunk and wiping blood off their faces. This was the beginning of the two becoming friends, finding solace in the shared loss they felt and the joy and chaos they both brought to those around them.

Soon enough though, their fun would come to an end when Odin showed his face. He talked of a war against the new gods, of bringing back everything they had lost. Seila hated the All-Father, letting him know her feelings towards him, but even he had lost the spark within his one good eye. "I'm fighting." She growled, earning a smirk from the old man. "Good. I need your anger to help us win." His voice made her twitch, but she knew he needed everyone he could gather. "My father better be there." She muttered, watching the old man leave. Sweeney knew what happened to her. They both had shared the tales of what Odin had put them through, and even with their detest for the one eyed god, this war was far more important.

She stood at the place of battle, her green eyes watching everyone around them prepare. She felt the leprechaun step beside her long before his arm wrapped around her. He was a safe place for her in a world of chaos. "We could die." He sighed. "And if we die today, we will die fighting." She stated, looking up at him. The kiss was unexpected to her, but one she was glad to share with him as the sun rose slowly over the trees, the war drums starting behind them. "And we'll die knowing love." He added with a whisper. Smacking his chest she shook her head. "You can't die. We still have fights to start." She teased as the clam faded into the chaos of war.
