The Iron Gate

Opening the iron gate, and lifting her skirts; Lothiriel, stepped forward purposefully, along the worn path, which led to the beach. So often she had walked here, gazing into the far expanse that was the Bay of Belfalas and musing times past.

She moved closer to the rugged rock that lifted, Dol Amroth, and breathed in the peace that stirred her here. This was her haven…a place where the sad words of war and hate could not touch her…. place where she was free to hope for better times.

The healing house was where she soon would be needed, but until then she would pray to the gods for a miracle. One week prior, she had been on a lovely visit with the Lady of Light in Lothothien. Her home was truly’ the valley of gold’, now with the silver leaves trees whispering in the autumn wind and subtle scents of earthen incense permanating the air. Galadriel was the highest of elves and was possessed with beauty and protection against darkness and evil. Lothiriel loved her.
Yet, because of her role
was steward of her father’s stronghold, Dol Amroth, she couldn’t allow herself to be drawn into the elven world.  She frowned.

Always she thought of how legend had it, that many generations afore, her grandfather, was known as, The Numenorean.
She smiled at the thought, as all knew that this race of men was faithful to the will of the Valor. They were friends to the elves, and for that she was proud. Yet, it was even better than this.  A smile came to Lottie’s eyes as she recalled what
Lady Galadriel had told her. This one Prince of Belfalas, had journeyed into the Lorien forests and found his love, Mithrellas. She was Sindarin!
Which meant surely the bloodlines of the elven race were in veins!
Lottie sat, leaning against the stone wall and closed her eyes. She willed the forces of hate to leave Gondor. She called out to the spirits of music to protect her father, her brothers and her friends. She prayed for all the souls who would loose their lives to rest in Valinor.

Pelennor Fields

HISTORY:

Théoden Ednew had the makings of a great king for in his youth, he proved valiant in battle, and he possessed both wisdom and a gentle heart away from war.

Yet by 3014, Saruman had begun to invade the King's mind, using spells and his servant, Gríma Wormtongue to bewitch Théoden. As the king slipped into indifference, Saruman began to probe the borders of Rohan with his armies.

He had taken into his service orcs, and Uruk-hai, and would eventually recruit the hillmen of Dunland to again assail their neighbors in Rohan.

Théodred, son of Théoden, along with his cousin Éomer, took charge of the Mark and its defenses against the growing threat of Isengard. Saruman, through Gríma, constantly forestalled Théodred and the other Marshalls of the Mark, and, by the bewitchment of Théoden, thwarted Rohan's attempts to muster great force of arms in opposition.

He even blinded the king to Gandalf's warnings that Rohan was in peril upon his return from Orthanc, and Gandalf was forced to take Shadowfax and ride to Rivendell in hopes of meeting up with Frodo. As the Fellowship took the One Ring east from Rivendell, Saruman's forces increased their attack upon Rohan, in addition to his intensified hunt for the Ring.

Aragorn and his companions chanced to meet up with Éomer and his eored upon the plains of Rohan near Fangorn, and there revealed himself to be the heir of Isildur, and asked news and aid from Éomer.

The Rohirrim were returning from battle with a legion of Uruk-hai that had captured Merry and Pippin, and Éomer gave what tidings he could of his doings and the condition of Rohan to Aragorn. Lending the companions a pair of horses, Éomer then led his men to continue their task of gathering the East-mark's herdfolk to safety.

Lithiriel

Imrahil (TA 2955 - FO 34)also known as Prince Imrahil was the twenty-second Prince of Dol Amroth. He had two older sisters, Ivriniel and Finduilas.

His daughter Lothiriel .....During the War of the Ring, on March 9, 3019,

Prince Imrahil led a company of Swan Knights and 700 men at arms to Minas Tirith to help defend the City. Prince Imrahil led the group that rode to the aid of Faramir and the rear-guard who were retreating from Osgiliath when the forces of Sauron overran the Pelennor Fields on March 13.

Gandalf rode with them, and the Winged Nazgûl fled before him. The Knights of Dol Amroth rescued Faramir from the Southrons. Faramir was poisoned, and Imrahil carried his nephew back to the City on his horse. Gandalf then took command of the besieged city and Prince Imrahil assisted him, because Denethor in his madness retreated to the White Tower with his dying son, and forgot about the city.

While paying his respect to the procession bearing the body of King Théoden of Rohan at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields on March 15, Imrahil noticed that the Rohirrim also bore the body of Éowyn. He perceived that she was still alive and he sent a man to the City for help.

Éomer and his Riders were outnumbered, but Imrahil then rode into battle, and came to their aid. Shortly after, Aragorn arrived in the black ships of the Corsairs, and the tide of the battle was turned. After the Pelennor fields had been cleared, Aragorn, Éomer and Imrahil rode to the Gate of Minas Tirith.

Imrahil recognized that Aragorn was the rightful King, but he agreed that it was wise for Aragorn to wait to enter the city, because Imrahil knew his brother-in-law Denethor was strong-willed and proud. When Imrahil learned that Denethor was dead and Faramir dying, he suggested that Aragorn be summoned, remembering that the Kings of old were great healers.

Aragorn came at Gandalf's request to heal the wounded Faramir, Éowyn, and Merry, but he declared that Prince Imrahil should rule the City until Faramir awoke, in effect granting Imrahil the position of Steward.

Lothiriel
Category: Uncategorized

Lothiriel lives with her father at A Dol Amroth, a castle along the coast of Gondor. Legend states that all nobility has elvish blood in them. Mithrellas an Elf maiden, was among the elves from Lothlorien that accompanied Nimrodel when they were fleeing the evil in Moria. The elves strayed into the woods and were never heard from again. However, according to the Dol Amroth legend, Mithrellas married Imrazor a Numenorean who dwelt in Dol Amroth. Lottie inherits her inner calm from her elven ancestors...her favorite reminder is the white rose of peace.
