First Time. (A drabble.)

DRUG ABUSE WARNING.
Then again, if I am on your list, you know that this is possible.
Nick is an addict. This is what he does.
Anyways, on with the drabble!

Since the loss of his father, Stephen, Nick had been very depressed. The once loving and happy family was now shattered. Nick had even fallen away from spending time with his sister, and any other of his good influence friends. Instead, his friend Calvin had introduced him to the world of drugs. It had just started out with Marijuana. But, that was no longer enough to numb the pain. No, he needed something more, something stronger. That was when Calvin had suggested Heroin. He had even given him the first dose for free; of course in hopes that Nick would get addicted and start to buy it from him. He had to get him hooked first.

That family used to be close, spending Sunday nights playing Monopoly as a family. But as the kids got older, this started happening less and less. Stephen growing more distant from the family as he began to work more and more. He still loved his family, of course, but work had taken a toll on him, made him distant. However, it was his death that really drove them apart. Madison began to smother her son, knowing how much like his father he was. This only pushed him away from her... and in turn, he began to ignore his sister more often. Something she was not used to, as, for most of their lives, the two had been best friends. Nick loved his family, he truly did, but the pain was unbearable for him. He needed to stop it somehow. Oh, he was so much like his father.

Before the death of his dad, Nick never would have considered turning to drugs. Marijuana, maybe. But anything else? No. Now here he was, holding a lighter under a spoon, getting ready to inject for the first time. He already had his belt as a makeshift tourniquet around his left arm above the elbow, ready to try. With his mom at work and sister in school, he had the house to himself. Locked in his room, having lied and said he was too sick to go to school, Nick readied the needle.

A heavy sigh escaped Nick's lips as he got the needle ready. He stared at it for a moment, as if debating on if he should or not. Part of him knew that it was wrong, that he shouldn't do it. But he needed to numb the pain, and Calvin had guaranteed him that this would be able to make him feel nothing.

"F u c k it," he grumbled. Finding the vein in his arm, he stabbed the needle in and began to inject the drug. Undoing his belt, he dropped it to the ground as he let the fluid into his system. After hiding the needle in his bedside table, he lay back and stared up at the ceiling, waiting for the high to kick in.

Nick lay there for a few minutes, almost thinking that it hadn't worked when it finally kicked in. A small, crooked smile crossed his lips. He began to feel weightless like he was floating. He closed his eyes, arms draped across the bed. For the first time since losing his dad, Nick felt happy; truly happy. His mind was clear of all bad thoughts, the pain was gone. He had never felt anything quite like this before.

Safe, warm, happy... things he hadn't felt for a long time. "This is wonderful..." he thought to himself, the crooked smile still across his lips. This was definitely something he would be buying again. Something that he would, very soon, he would depend on. His father had battled addiction in his life too, and now, Nick was following in his footsteps; down the same dangerous path. Although it was never Heroin that Steven was addicted to, he had battled addiction. In his youth, he had been an alcoholic, and had got sober when he got with Madison. However, about a year before his death, he had fallen back into old habits.

Slowly, Nick began to drift off to sleep, feeling great. All bad thoughts were gone. Nick was in total euphoria. No, there was nothing wrong in his world in that moment... and there wouldn't be for a few hours as the drug knocked him out. Something that he felt he needed. He was able to sleep through most of the day, only waking up as he heard Madison's car pull up into the driveway. The happiness had begin to wear off by then. "I am going to need more of that," he thought. Although, he knew that he had to try to act normal so that his family would not know that something was off.

Gunshot -- A drabble.

Seeing that car again, Nick knew what he had to do. Ennis and the other Vultures had taken Madison... and Nick had no idea if his mom was dead or alive. All he knew was that he wanted to kill Ennis for everything. He wished he'd killed him last time they ran into each other. The only reason he'd stopped then was that Madison told him not to; Charlie was watching. But this time, he wasn't going to stop. This time, he was going to kill this man for taking his mom.

"Don't! Don't!" Morgan insisted, trying to hold Nick back. Nick stared into Morgan's eyes, knowing he wouldn't be able to stop him. Even though they'd only known each other a few hours, he knew Morgan wouldn't hurt him even to stop this from happening. "Do you have what it takes to stop me?" he asked, breathing heavily as he clutched Morgan's stick. As Morgan backed off, a small smirk crossed Nick's lips. "Didn't think so," he breathed out as he walked into the small building after Ennis.

Ennis was rummaging through some boxes, back to the door. Nick clutched his hammer tightly as he ran towards the older man, ready to swing. However, Ennis turned around just in time, swinging his knife towards Nick, causing Nick to drop his hammer. His hands moved to hold Ennis' wrists, keeping the knife inches from his face. He struggled a moment to hold him off before finally gaining the strength to push him away; causing him to fall backwards onto a set of antlers. Nick stood there for a moment, watching the man suffer before leaning down and pushing him further onto them. Ennis tried begging for his life, but Nick shook his head. "This is for my mom," he whispered. Although he knew this wouldn't give him answers on where his mom was, he was filled with rage.

The life slowly drained from Ennis as Nick held him against the antlers, his breathing still heavy. As Ennis finally stopped breathing, his body fell limp. Nick stood up, slowly walking back outside; blood dripping form his hands. He was eerily calm. "Maybe I should have asked where they were holding mom before killing him..." he thought, but shook his head at himself. It was too late now. He was determined to find Madison again, to find her alive and well. Then he would kill the rest of them, and try to convince Charlie to come back to their group, hoping that she would see they were better people.

"I know where you are, Nick. I've been there," Morgan spoke softly as he saw Nick come back out. "To answer your question from earlier? Those I lost? My wife, my son, and my friends..." he spoke calmly, telling Nick his story. The young former-addict stood there, listening. He listened as Morgan continued to explain things, telling Nick that all life is precious.

"Okay? How exactly?" Nick asked, obviously confused. He wanted to tell Morgan he was crazy; tell him that there were bad people out there that deserved what they got. But, before he could get any of that out, Morgan showed him the book he had with him, The Art of Peace. Nick shook his head, telling Morgan it was too late before trying to push passed him. Morgan stepped infront, insisting that Nick take a look at the book. Wiping some of the blood off of his hand onto his pants, he reached up to take the book, looking down at it for a moment.

Morgan left Nick alone after that, letting him read the book for a moment. Nick paced as he read the pages. It did seem interesting, but part of him still thought that Morgan was crazy. He was so lost in the book that he didn't hear the large truck pulling up, or Tatiana talking to Morgan. "Nah... some people deserve what they get," Nick sighed, sliding the book into his back pocket. That was when he felt the stem of a flower. Pulling it out, he sat down on a pile of wood, looking down at it; a Bluebonnet.

Staring down at the flower, Nick thought about the last time he'd left the walls of the baseball field; the time he nearly killed Ennis first. Madison had pulled the truck over to show Nick there was still good in the world by showing him the flowers. It was shortly after that those bastards took her. Nick sighed, staring down at the flower. "Mom... we are going to find you," he thought silently, twirling it around. "Alicia and I are going to find you. Promise."

Just then, his thoughts were broken as a gunshot rang through the air and a sudden pain in his chest. He looked down, bringing his hand up to feel that his shirt was wet...and warm. He looked down at his fingers, now covered in fresh blood. He glanced up, staring in shock for a moment. There was Charlie, barely ten years old, standing there with a gun pointed at him. "Ch...Charlie..." Nick gasped. "Charlie... what the hell?" he wanted to say, but couldn't find strength to get the words out. Instead, he fell to the ground; Charlie running off.

"No... not like this..." Nick thought, blood now dripping from his mouth. A few tears stung his eyes. He still had so much to live for. Finding his mom, protecting his sister, protecting Tatiana...marrying Tatiana! "Nick, you have to stay strong...you're going to be okay," he tried to convince himself silently. But as he tried to find the strength to push himself up, it wasn't there. He tried to call for help, but he couldn't do that either. Instead he lay there, unable to move, a metallic taste filling his mouth.

"NICK!" Alicia and Tatiana both screamed in unison as they came around the corner. Tatiana instantly bent down beside him, as Alicia ran to see who had shot. As Tatiana and Strand began to look Nick over, he looked up at his fiancee sadly. He weakly reached his hand up to her face, accidentally smearing it with blood. He tried to speak, to tell her he loved her, but the words were drowned out by him choking. "I love you...so much," he thought as he stared at her, hating that he couldn't say the words out loud.

Alicia dropped down beside her brother, grabbing his other hand as Victor put pressure on the wound. "Nick... it's okay... you're going to be fine..." Alicia tried to convince him; trying to hide the pain on her face. But Nick knew his sister, he could see right through her. He glanced between her and Tatiana, wanting to tell them both he loved them; wanting to tell them to keep each other safe. When he opened his mouth to try to speak again, all that escaped was a small gasping. Crimson blood dripped down his face, hitting the dirt below him. Alicia began to cry, still trying to tell her brother that it would be okay. On the other side of him, Tatiana squeezed his hand. "Nick... no..." she whispered, tears cascading down her cheeks. "Please no... I love you..."

The worst part about all this for Nick was not dying. No, it was the fact he was leaving those he cared about hurt. Death was not something that Nick feared, but seeing the pain on the faces of the two women he cared most about? That was hard. He could only imagine what Madison would look like if she were there too...

Although he tried hard to hang on, his breathing began to grow shallow. In that moment, he actually regret killing Ennis. He slowly drift off...

After a day on the boat and scavenging with his girlfriend, Tatiana, Nick had decided they should throw a small party. mostly because he had some exciting news to share with everyone. Waiting for them all to show up, Nick grinned happily. As they waited for everyone to arrive, the two took a couple of shots of Tequila to celebrate. Once everyone was there, Nick smiled happily. He wrapped his arm around Tatiana, pulling her close. "Mom, Alicia, friends..." he smiled proudly. "Tatiana and I have something we wanted to share with you all. I asked her to marry me."

How to Survive.

-First off, yes, I am a girl in real life. If you don't like it, then please leave. If you are okay with it, then welcome and I would love to write with you!

-Bring real life drama, you get blocked. Simple as that. In character drama is great. But I have already lost this character once to drama, I don't want it to happen again. Keep your drama away from me.

-I do multipara to novella. Most of my replies/starters are 3-6 paragraphs. Sometimes more, rarely less. I do try to match what I receive, but overall, I believe in quality over quantity.

-Spelling and grammar does not have to be perfect. However, please try. There is a such thing as spellcheck. I mean, yes, everyone makes mistakes; including me. But try, that is all I ask. I mean, we all know the difference between things like too, to, and two & your and you're right?

-I am not here for sex. I mean, that is not a surprise since I am a girl in real life, right? But, it needs to be said thanks to girls that just want sex. That is not me. I am here to write. If sex is to happen it's with a love interest. (Which, I am picky on.) Especially since well, it's the apocalypse! As well as, Nick is more worried about drugs than sex.

-I am not a number. If you are on my list...we should talk in some way, right? I think so. I like friends...so lets be friends! I am super nice OOC!

-Do not rush me for replies/starters. I am not online 24/7, I have a real life. I am on when I can be. Sometimes I reply fast, sometimes I do not. It depends on what is going on at the time. Also, I do have other accounts; two within the verse. (A Beth and an original.)

-As for mains, I will accept them. However we should discuss a storyline and write a bit first. Then, if we both agree to be mains, then you will be my main. But please be active!! I will talk to others of that character though.

-THERE WILL BE MATURE THEMES. This is obvious since it is zombie/apocalypse verse...but I will say it anyway. I hope you are all over 18 in real life. Blood, swearing, all of that can happen in my stories. I am 25 in rl. I can handle it. One thing, however, I do not want to see in RPs with me? Animals getting hurt, especially just for fun. I mean, if you are killing it for food, fine. But please do not make it as graphic as killing the walkers. I am very sensitive when it comes to animals, especially dogs. If you start writing that out, especially as someone who enjoys hurting them, I won't want to write with you,

-Do not God-Mode my character. I play him, you play your character. We can walk together... but important things are done by me. And all words, are done by me. Don't try to god-mode Nick. This includes attacking him. If your character is going to hurt mine, warn me OOC first, please. I can handle him getting hurt, and beaten up, but you are not to kill him. Don't try.

-I prefer to keep roleplay in comments and discussions in messages. I lose track of discussions when they are in comments and that drives me nuts. I would rather do all discussing/ooc stuff in messages. I can do some RP in messages, although comments highly preferred for writing purposes. But, I know some people find RPing in messages easier. That is fine, but please, keep all OOC (unless cute gifs or something) in MESSAGES. I hate discussing storylines in comments. It is hard to keep track of everything.

-Stealing is a huge no no. Do not do it. Ever. I edit all of my own pictures. If something is not made by me, credit will be given. (Gifs are found on Tumblr/Giphy and edited by me.) Do not steal my sh*t. I may not tag it, but I will know if it is stolen, and I won't be nice. However, if you want something and you ask? I may let you have it. Or may help you make something similar. Just ASK.
